  1. I didn't care for the Bristol designed townhouse, but at least he used more of a neutral palate. The huge light fixtures and orange wall were ugly. And he shouldn't have left the staging up to Aubrey. The beams would have looked nicer in a bigger house with higher ceilings.
  2. If you look at the pic from the listing, the Lucky sign is not there. I'm wondering if it was just "for TV" or if buyers were so turned off by it, that they removed it. It's both. Her designs are horrible and then she stages with too many ugly accessories. Those "brokers" are full of it. I'm sure they are paid to walk in and rave about how amazing the house looks and they could get top dollar for it when in reality, they know it's a hot mess! I just binge watched the 4 most recent episodes. Aside, from the usual Aubrey tackiness, it annoys me that she constantly refers to condos or smaller sized homes having "tiny" kitchens/bathrooms. I don't know how big she expects these rooms to be when the house is only 800 sq ft. Also, I hate that she refers to the group of 4 - 5 condos (all in the same complex) that they renovated this season (and last season) as being located on the strip. Yes, they are on the same road but are not considered or even close to "The Strip". One would have to drive about 10 mins without traffic before hitting "The Strip". I'm not liking how 3 of the homes this season have turned out to be rentals. It's making it hard for me to look up the real truth about listings - ie days on the market and how much they sold for, etc. Their older son looks like Bristol, but unfortunately, inherited his mom's bad taste as he proved when picking out granite with her.
  3. Agree. The entire episode was awful! I think the worst one yet - it was a major fail! This season has been kind of hit or miss. IMO, the show should always be set in the store. The lack of the secondary characters - Sandra, Marcos, Myrtle, Justine, etc - and the scenes with the weird customers were definitely missed during tonight's episode.
  4. Manta Ecuador: Am I only one that got a not so good "vibe" from the husband. They were recently married and she quit her job (she didn't like it) and I assumed didn't get another one. They're moving to Manta because HE visited there and liked it. She mentioned always living in CO and now she's moving away from all of her family and friends. I was shocked when they (he) chose what she wanted. Especially since he said the condo was good, but the golf course one that he wanted would have been great! He said he chose it because he loved her, and she just sat there...silent. And just the snide way he responded about "throwing it back in his face" when she mentioned about him golfing on the weekends.
  5. Agree on both. Dina had the best lines! "I was looking for something to do, but that sounds truly horrible!"
  6. Kansas City: I love dogs, but as soon as I heard these people say their dog had a say in which house they chose, I was out. No. Just no. Plus, I think it's totally rude and disrespectful to bring a dog into someone else's house without the current owner's permission.
  7. It is a vacation rental: http://balikalikubu.com $389 per night https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/28379593?guests=1&adults=1
  8. Vegas housing prices have been increasing in the last few years. However, the property taxes in Vegas are cheap...super cheap! I looked up the house and it is just under 1900 sq ft. Taxes are $1100/yr. The backyard is about average size for a tract home. I'm still surprised it sold for $348k! I realized after looking at it on the map, I'm kind of familiar with the area because I have family who live in that neighborhood. One lives on the next street over from this week's house and another who lives two streets over. It's not a "bad" area, but it is older (by Vegas standards). The homes were built in the 70's and 80's and most of them look like it. Driving by, there's not much curb appeal to any of the homes. For almost $350k, there are much nicer areas/houses than this one.
  9. If I hear Aubrey say "beachy" one more time...!!! The pool tile is the same tile she used in a bathroom last week - it looked way better in the pool! The front and backyard turned out nice, but as usual, the interior is HORRIBLE! There is way too much going on! Too many styles, too many textures, too much "Aubrey"! I kind of liked the master bath shower, but the frames around the mirrors looked like dryer balls. Don't even get me started on the real wood floor on the ceiling!! I hate that they always paint the doors, baseboards and trims blue, or dark grey or pink - just leave them white already!! I'm not surprised there weren't any offers at $365k. However, I am bit shocked the house appraised for $348k! I would have thought the very low 300's at the most.
  10. Phoenix ep: this was a quick watch. The parents were obnoxious and even though it wasn't labeled as a "family edition" episode, the younger daughters tagged along. Ugh! I fast forwarded through most of it. The buyers were even more annoying at the end.
  11. I've never been a fan either, and this will probably be the only episode I liked her in, but she really did an awesome job! Next week, she'll be back to her bad haircut and her 911 uniform shirt unbuttoned one too many. I teared up too, but at the part where she was stabbing the ex and screaming. So many different emotions she would would be feeling - she played that scene very convincingly. Agree. I think she has zero chemistry with Eddie and even less with Christopher so that makes her very off-putting, IMO. Speaking of Christopher... That kid lights up the room! I love when he told Chimney to "rest well." He sounded so natural, not like a he was saying a scripted line. Hopefully, in 2 weeks, this show will be back to it's normal craziness!
  12. Did you see the Manhattan episode from the other night? San Antonio: Her new "friend" was previously on HH. Was he the one with the realtor wife who complained about everything and didn't want a yard, etc because her husband would be busy taking care of it instead of paying attention to her? Or am I thinking of someone else? NC: I loved the MCM house! I can't believe they bought those 2 houses! I hope they'll be on a WATN episode.
  13. That tattoo was everything! And Dina screaming in the parking lot at Amy and Jonah to "stop scissoring and help find my birds!" was hilarious! I love Dina! Also, I loved when she told the employee with the mop that he was going to have to clean the women's bathroom in 3 minutes because she was going to be sick from listening to Sandra talk about her and Jerry's love life. 😂
  14. This condo was a hot mess. Aubrey kept emphasizing how there was no storage in the unit, but the only thing she did to add storage was the custom closet unit. Everything else was completely useless. That green built in shelving unit was so ugly and took up way too much space. I agreed about removing the kitchen pantry and replacing it with a cabinet pantry to save space, but then they put it that monster piece which made the eating area look 10x smaller than before. The spray painted gold shelves were horrid, but then to frame the ugly green hood with them, made the entire wall look even worse. The green/grey color scheme didn't work. They would have saved a bunch of money by keeping the floor tile. It looked to be in good shape and wasn't outdated. I glad Bristol put his foot down about the wallpaper on the ceiling. The "agents" touring the home at the end were so full of it! I highly doubted the house sold in 3 days. I looked it up and according to the records, it was pending an offer 3 days after listing and officially sold 32 days later. I'm shocked! I wish they would have a follow up to all these homes - I would love to see what the new buyers changed. On a vain note, Aubrey's eyebrows look so much better when she doesn't "do them". Also, I would think if she wanted to be taken seriously in real estate, she wouldn't dress like a hooker to a business seminar where she is a feature speaker. Or host an open house looking like a hooker from the 1980's - the high hair and hot pink lipstick make her look just as tacky as her designs.
  15. I've only seen brothels on TV and those don't look as tacky as Aubrey's designs. I don't think so because showgirls are required to be tall. I guess it depends what kind of "show" she was in. I was surprised how vocal Bristol was about not liking her ugly crap. He's always agreed with her so I'm curious why he suddenly grew a pair and told her no. Maybe he reads these boards...
  16. I love when Matt Bomer is on! Ross Gellar...not so much. I don't know what it is, but I think David Shwimmer is trying way too hard not to be Ross and it's coming across as bad acting, IMO. I'm fine if he an Grace break up. Has Jack's mom ever appeared or she just "on the phone?" I thought Karen's plot was pretty weak.
  17. I think he mentioned he was British when he was talking to the cops at the station. I kind of liked it. However, I wish it wasn't so blatantly based on OJ. I think this show had potential, but because it's written by Marcia Clark, it's coming across as a personal revenge thing and that's not going to work. I don't mind Robin Tunney. The other lawyer, he was easy on the eyes.
  18. It's just his backstory. They did Bobby's in S1 and Hen's last season. JLH really needs to part her hair on the side instead of straight down the middle. Chim better not die!
  19. For those that don't want to read the article, here are the highlights: AV said “A hundred years from now, people will be saying my name. I absolutely think I’m changing Chicago one house at a time.” If they are saying her name, it's not in a positive manner. And yes, I agree she's changing Chicago one house at a time, but not in a good way. She really needs to get over herself! "Victoria believes she deserves a warmer welcome for her efforts at preserving some of the homes’ historic elements. 'We are trying to bring the history back with the builds. So it’s not like we are coming in making crap and just trying to make a buck.' " Is she for real?! That's exactly what they are doing!! Crap work and expecting buyers to pay big bucks for it! "Ruth Egofske, the mother of buyer Anna Morrissey, told the Sun-Times the TV show spent more on the rehab than planned and tried to get the couple to pony up more money. They refused (“They’re both lawyers,” Egofske said), but the deal finally closed earlier this month." I can't believe anyone would even consider buying from these two after watching this show. Between the high price tags and all the mistakes made, I can see why all these homes are still sitting unsold. "1906 N. Hoyne, still hasn’t sold, according to state records. It, too, has an unfinished backyard, and the beautifully staged furniture inside — featured at the end of every show — is gone." No one is going to pay $1.5 mil for a house with an unfinished backyard...even if it is the size of postage stamp. Also "So are some incredibly pricey doorknobs she put on doors inside a 1820s-era hand-carved golden, giltwood door frame from southern France that she had installed on the front of the house. The doorknobs — which she said cost $2,000 — were taken down shortly after she revealed their cost on the show." I hope she took $2000 off the list price. "State property transfer tax records and the Multiple Listing Service only confirm four of them have closed." Out of 11. Here's a little backhanded compliment: "Mary Lu Seidel, director of community engagement for Preservation Chicago, who said what Victoria and Eckhardt are doing is better than the “terrible alternative” of tearing down the houses and replacing them with “McMansions.” She also appreciates how the show features local artifact and restoration businesses, including Urban Remains in West Town and Hammer Design on the Near West Side. Seidel wishes they didn’t supersize the homes or make changes like painting the brick exteriors — and tried harder to get along with the communities they target. “We all know flippers are about turning a profit, but it would be great to see this show model a flipper who seems to have more respect for neighbors of the houses they flip,” she said." I'm glad she gave Ari a shout out! I wish they would cancel AV and give Ari his own show already!!
  20. I agree with you. I think all the construction and actual remodeling is limited because it's only a 30 minute show whereas the original Flip or Flop is an hour. They should all be an hour, except for Vegas. I can barely tolerate Aubrey and her "glam" designs as it is. What I like about P and D (and Atlanta) is they don't have a lot of OTT drama. They have a problem, they fix it, they move on. Professionals.
  21. I lived in Vegas most of my life so it was nice to see it portrayed as a normal city and not all glitz and glamor - looking at your Flip or Flop LV. I'm sure it was exciting to win $320k, but for him being a professional gambler, I would think they would be a little more cautious with how they spend their money. I didn't hear what she did for work, so maybe she's the breadwinner and his winnings are "extra". I'm glad they picked the 2nd house - I loved it too! If they wanted a big backyard, they should have definitely went with an older home. Most of the ones built before 1990ish have larger lots. My parents house was built in '79 on a pie shaped lot because it was located on an "inside corner" of a cul de sac. At 1/3 of an acre, it was considered HUGE by Vegas standards. I had to laugh when David said there were so many "funky" neighborhoods around the city. I have to disagree...most of the neighborhoods are just tract homes and if you go to custom built neighborhoods, "funky" wouldn't be the word I would use to describe them.
  22. I'm not a Desi fan at all, but I did like CNN music piece. She seemed more natural and didn't seem like she was trying so hard to be funny/shocking, etc. On a super vain note, she looked pretty with her hair pulled back.
  23. I think this was the "pilot" episode that aired last year. It's obvious this was one of the very first episodes since AV was actually kind of being nice to Donovan and she wasn't being a total egotistical b!tch like she is now. Plus, Ari and his business were formally introduced. I rolled my eyes when AV said "if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself." Ha! I would NEVER leave anything up to her (or D) and assume it will turn out correctly. Also, when she told D that she's never read anything negative about herself until now...LOL! She obviously must read very little because I read more way negative than positive comments about her and her renovations. Another chuckle was when she held up the sketch and asked D "does this look like a concrete box?!" YES!! Yes, it does!! And so do all of your other ones!!! Once again, same layout and similar finishes as all of her other homes. I hate that she replaced the living room window with a huge single one that doesn't open. I didn't like the brass framed mirror over the fireplace - a mirror inside of the wood frame would have looked so much better! The buyers were so full of it - they were so over the top with their compliments. Either A. they picked out the finishes (and the brown vs white cabinets was just TV drama) or B. they got paid to gush about AV and her designs. I'm going to go with C. both because AV said the house was purchased $1.375 mil, but according to public records, it was really bought for $1.365 mil. Interestingly enough, the house was listed at the end of Jan 2017 for $1.425 mil and in the property description it specifically says "April Delivery". Because of that and the realtor saying he and the buyers already walked the property the night before leads me to believe, it had an MLS and was not some random couple walking by that were so struck by the awesomeness of AV's designs that they HAD to have the house, like the show made it out to be.
  24. Disappointed in this ep. Dina and Garrett were the highlights. I didn't care for Mateo storyline or Cheyenne being jerky instead of her usual ditzy. Glen baby proofing his office for an infant who is going to be in the store for one day was stupid.
  25. I really wish he could get his own show! I follow him on Instagram. If anyone is interested... hammerari is his IG name. Ari Smejkal HAMMER DESIGN is his company.
