Damon is a piece of work. And I’m still getting slimy vibes off of Pascal.

I think that’s what’s been bugging me about the whole new chief storyline so far. I’m assuming he was given at least some background on 51 when he was hired and that he was told it was essentially a well oiled house with good lieutenants in place and teams that work well together. And quite frankly, if I’m a lieutenant who until now has been trusted to handle my s**t and I’m suddenly being micromanaged, I would be ticked. And I’m not just referring to Stella. Boden trusted all three lieutenants to handle themselves. He oversaw the big picture, he was there for guidance as needed, and he didn’t hesitate to smack somebody down who stepped out of line. He did not feel the need to question their decision-making, to debrief with a critical eye and to act like these professionals don’t know what they’re doing. This kind of change in management can be a real wrench. And I don’t think it speaks well of the new chief that he seems to think the house needs a lot of correction.

So we’re all pretty sure Nora is actually a secret half sibling to Owen and Meghan right? That reminiscence about their father seemed odd.

Can’t imagine Patrick enjoyed having the fake blood on for the whole shoot. That’s a lot of time in the makeup chair.
-
That’s a really interesting theory about Cindy. She did just recently deal with cancer, a brain tumor messing with her sense of smell would actually fit the storyline. And would explain why they went with such a stupid storyline in the first place. I think it was announced last year that we’re going to see Boden occasionally, he’s not gone for good. I imagine he’ll pop up probably during sweep week, just as the new captain does something stupid.

This was one of their best episodes in years!

Definitely not a fan of Damon!

The opinion may be unpopular, but I share it. Christopher had the summer to be upset and get some space from his dad. Now it is time to move forward. I said as much in the thread for the season finale. I would’ve liked to have heard Eddie make it clear that Chris can spend the summer with his grandparents, but he returns to LA for the school year. And a lot of family counseling in their future. Eddie absolutely messed up here for sure but it wasn’t malicious and Christopher is old enough to recognize that.

My theory was right! I hope she and her baby are doing well.

That it has taken this long for somebody to comment on the episode speaks volumes about how boring it was. I’m delighted to get Atwater and Ruzek back on my screen, but that was a boring episode even with the twist at the end. And where is Marina? Was I correct in speculation last season that they have been playing ‘hide the pregnancy’ and she’s just wrapping up her maternity leave?

The showrunner needs to check the editors work before they declare the episode locked and ready. It was actually a pretty decent show but the “previously on“ was all all kinds of messed up.

That’s how it works over on Chicago Fire. Can’t guarantee their authenticity, but certainly feels like a more realistic system.

I’m re-watching for the first time in forever. I’ve made it to 17 People, and I want to reach through the screen and strangle President Bartlett. The first time I saw this, I thought Toby was being completely unreasonable and watching it again 20 years down the line… Toby was absolutely right in everything he said and that is the hill I will die on. The president did lie to the country, if you’re going to run for president, then your health is the business of the electoral base, and Leo being good at what he does does not mean he is an elected official with authority in the situation room.

To this day, I consider Apollo 13 to be a perfect movie and I have lost count of the number of times. I have watched it. And I am on the edge of my seat every single time. I think this is more than anything to Ron Howard’s skills as a filmmaker. And to continue that train of thought, I’m pretty sure that this documentary borrowed some very generic shots of buttons and lights within the space capsule. If they think I didn’t recognize them, they are wrong! :-)

Grey's Anatomy in the Media: Incident Reporting

Catherine has had that coming for years! -
I thought it was really fun! My only two quibbles would be the leaned a little too hard on the country music and I would’ve loved for Helen Hunt to have popped up as Kate’s mom. It would’ve tied the two movies together a little bit better.

Ryan has gone on record stating that all of the crazy stuff on the two 9-1-1 shows are things that happened in real life. They deliberately researched the craziest calls they could find.

I’d bet that Jed could simply tell Anna himself to cough up an Aunt-Mom. Anna knows who the favored sons are and that list does not currently include her husband. I suspect that her “headship” is probably unofficially her brothers in law.
-
Anna has to earn her keep. She's living on her inlaws largesse and if she's told to send over M1 to assist a golden son's family she'll be expected to oblige with a smile on her face.

As much as I’ll miss Grace and Judd, I’m glad we wouldn’t have one character without the other. That would be almost impossible without killing one off or having a massive character assassination (Alex Karev!).

Oh, those parents are just the worst! Not just the mom acting all shocked that Maddie’s husband was dead, but the whole thing where they only had Buck as a savior sibling. The transplant didn’t work, the sick sibling died and they kept the whole thing a secret from him while also being emotionally absent his entire childhood. The fact the Buck is even slightly functional is a freaking miracle!
