  1. Rachel has moderated debates before and as I recall, she was always very well prepared. I am sorry to see Chuck teamed with her--I really miss Katy Tur doing MTP daily to cover him--now it's him or Kornake and I am inclined to change the channel. Of course LOD would be excellent based on his history working in Congress, but Chris Hayes is also always really well prepared and very good at question and answer formats. At any rate, I hope Rachel gets some of the good candidates in her hour---I'm looking forward to hearing who gets cut---and how they group the 2 groups of 10---I'm sure they will mix them up some how but you know they all want to be on camera and get to go up against the top 3-4 candidates.
  2. Aw...Missouri is mad at Rachel for covering the clinic story. My response.....too bad. I am not sure if she said this--if so I missed it--so if the state law is that the women are required to have the exam prior to getting a requested abortion....who pays? If it isn't medically necessary, it really should not be up to their insurance, if they have it....is the state providing a fund to pay for these legally required unnecessary tests? If it costs them--then I'd be up for the exam that costs them money. I saw one of my insurance bills for a doctor visit where they did a much simpler less invasive exam recently and it was over $300---the doctor didn't even do the test, her LPN did it, and she spoke with me after---I was probably there less than 15 minutes.
  3. I see I'm not the only one who thinks "Future Dateline Episode" when I see a new crime on the news.
  4. I honestly don't know how Rachel keeps all these people like Nader straight. I was trying to follow that story earlier today and it seems like he had his hand in a little bit of everything. I'm glad she had the reporter for the current story on to help explain the timeline. I was confused but his explanation about the time gap between them questioning him/making a case against him for the child porn helps explain how this went down. He is one creepy guy.
  5. They kept saying peach but that was pink in my opinion and the "green" looked really grey on my tv with just a hint of green to it. That apartment turned out cute--they could have moved the tenants over to that side when they were done and then done the other side so they didn't have to come back and do the other side when they move. It was nice of them to do a little more for the sister-in-law. I liked the little patio they made for her out back so she could enjoy the back yard with her pups.
  6. They could show her face and I'm not sure I'd recognize her---she looks very different --in a good way. Whatever she's doing, she looks younger than she did when she was on the show.
  7. Aw, this is adorable.
  8. Here is Sonja's side of the divorce https://www.bravotv.com/the-daily-dish/sonja-morgan-reasons-divorce-from-John-Adams-Morgan What I remember reading elsewhere is that he got sick and she didn't leave whatever party she was at to come take care of him/see if he was ok and that was the end.

I agree @Jeeves I really like that show. I don't really understand how they make their decisions on which channel to carry a show ---but I like Big Texas Fix--I noticed they were promoting it on HGTV this week. That looks hopeful that they'll keep carrying it. I hope they do more of Philly Revival too. I really enjoyed that one too.
  10. Sonja tried to do burlesque. I always felt like it was a little embarrassing. https://www.bravotv.com/the-real-housewives-of-new-york-city/season-6/episode-4/videos/sonja-morgans-caburlesque

From Reality Blurred--new shows I think this show has been on before but I don't know this host
  12. I think the Times is ok with the reporters who have a job with MSNBC appearing on the generic news shows or MTP or the NBC news shows but not the prime time shows that have more of an "opinion" slant to them. I don't know if any of the "contributors" appear on Morning Joe, but if this is the rule, then they would not ---since that show definitely has strong opinions. Don Lemon spoke about it on his show last night and he was not happy about it. Personally I watch his show because he has strong opinions. Same with Lawrence. I always feel like Haberman does the New Day show to get a free blowout and makeup for the day. :) It seems like the NYT is trying to keep a foot in both camps so if either party wins they won't have offended anyone. I don't think WaPo will care--they have a history of being on the other side of either party when they are in.
  13. I am going to guess that they get some push back from some reporters. I can't count the number of times they've dropped a story online at 8 pm and Rachel has the reporter on to promote the story and she is always super respectful to make sure when she does the intro that she asks the journalist if she got it right.
  14. The NYT is now stopping it's reporters to appear on Rachel's show for fear of appearing "too partisan".
  15. Didn't one of the housewives call it a "cyst and decease" letter once?
  16. I know Rachel's background is public health and I think she did a really good interview with Hickenlooper and gave a great outline of the program he led in CO with providing birth control. Very timely. Every other interview I've seen him do, he's gotten a little snippy over the interviewer asking something he doesn't want to discuss (he just did it tonight on Ari Melber's show) but Rachel kept things right on track and gave him a good chance to talk about something that would be helpful for the public to know about him.
  17. ::Bangs head on desk:: Chris, Chris....you are out on the road for TWO DAYS with Mayor Pete...for god's sake learn to pronounce his last name!!!!!
  18. I just watched and I loved Steve's loft---think it was so great that he had saved things he liked for a long time to include. I wondered why they didn't end up using that beautiful chesterfield he had in there before he started--it was a really nice piece. I would love to live in a space like that with those huge windows and everything open. I've seen pictures of Leanne's house--and hers looks just like her style and now Steve's looks just like him!
  19. This crime was new to me and the victims coming home and gradually realizing someone had been in their house creeped me out---I'm not easily spooked but our family was robbed once while we were away from home and I can remember how frightening it was to come in and when you'd open a cabinet or drawer, finding things gone or moved around. I can't believe the guy went on for so long and accumulated so much evidence without anyone noticing.
  20. I loved the green mid-century they did this week. I really was not sure about the yellow wall with circles but once he staged the room I liked it a lot. Luke needs to look at getting some kind of licensing job to do mid-century type reproductions at somewhere like Target---he has a big family to support and I think his ideas would be very popular. One thing I like about his staged homes is that he uses a lot of colors that are not necessarily trendy right now but they come off so well when he puts all of his ideas together. I really liked that soft dark green that he used on the exterior and the cabinets in the kitchen and the accent colors he used and the natural wood tones he added just pulled it all together. I was a little concerned with how that cut block trim would come out, but painted and up on that wall I thought it looked great.
  21. I hope they do find another place to take over this show--but I think it may be made harder because the next season would be a transition to the outcome of what started in the first season and there would be some world-building and a bigger cast --and that part of the story is so different that it may be a lot more expensive and also risky because it is almost like a whole different show--where most of the cast we like won't be part of it. Still I liked the books so much and I really hope they do find a way to keep it going.
  22. I think violating the Espionage Act may carry the possibility of the death penalty--so the UK would probably not extradite him, so this may never come to trial unless they figure out how to get hold of him. This may not go to trial to be debated. I think a lot of the press who are expressing deep concerns about the government going after the press have been shaken by this case that is going on in California right now. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/san-francisco-journalist-says-police-raided-his-home-after-he-n1004776 The police went into his home and handcuffed him, took his work materials and electronics because he would not reveal a source. A lot of reporters have been discussing this online--Chris Hayes has tweeted a lot about it--so I think the Assange thing probably feels like another step in going after the press.
  23. Yep! I'm sure Andy would tweet out for the audience to send him questions! :)
