I thought the Bridge-gate story was worth it because of the info about them sending her a lawyer to get her info then having him dump her. I think Rachel missed one other Christie associate who has done well for himself --Chris Wray was a lawyer for Christie when he was governor.

I find myself wondering about the fact that for years on the show, Wendy was willing to participate in Chuck's need for kink UNTIL it was public, and now seeing what he was doing to himself to be able to keep functioning without it--she shut it down. I'm sure she did it to help him keep it safe and quiet. I guess I wonder if he's any sicker or unacceptable now than before and I also wonder whether she has tried in the past to get him into therapy for it, or she just participated in it privately to keep him going. It seems like she looked elsewhere more than once for sexual activity that was what she wanted. I wonder if she ever tried to get him to get help so that they could have a more satisfying relationship in their marriage and he just refused? Or did she just think he wouldn't do it. Seems like for people who function as partners in public and in private in many ways, this part of their lives has been problematic for a long time. I wonder if they were ever happy? I also wonder if since Chuck's loss of status politically and having to re-build his power, he wants that punishment even more. Sounds like Chuck Sr was a real dick to his wife and son. My dad used to do something slightly less violent to my mother periodically and I remember how much I hated it....and him when he'd do it. I also find it hard to imagine that in all their time together he never told her what his father used to do to them.

I can't remember which episode it was but on one of them, when Lee Ann and Steve went to the house for the hand-off/walk through they said they'd been working with the homeowners for weeks before they moved out, so I would imagine people have a pretty good idea what they're getting. I've liked most of the homes this season except for that one where she built a tiny bathroom and used a rusty garden vessel as the sink. I know the layout of hat place was a challenge but the end result was weird to me. The guys who owned it were thrilled tho, so I guess that's the point. I really enjoy how close she and Steve are as adult siblings and they seem to have so much respect for each other's abilities. They kid around a little but you can tell they have a really close family.

The side story of Wags being inducted made me think of that picture from 2000 of Guiliani in drag kissing Trump --he was all dressed up for some charity event. Poor Wags---he has earned so much from his connection to Bobby, but it's always some thing that he wants/needs to make him feel like he's made it.

That's why I love this show I think. I love nothing more than a good unrepentant villain---shows like Hannibal, Breaking Bad....and only a handful of people on this show are good and likeable. Many many greedy driven people--and a couple who go back and forth when they need to --like Wendy and Taylor. I feel like the never-ending tug of war between Bobby and Chuck is like grand opera --it is so over the top and improbable (but in today's world--the improbable is possible to imagine).

Kasie Hunt just announced that Katy Tur had her baby Saturday. His name is Teddy--which is cute--Katy's middle name is Bear. She looked very happy in the picture. She waited so long to go out on maternity leave I won't be surprised to see her following the Mueller report when it gets released.

I thought Rachel did a good job with her interview of Mayor Pete, although I have not needed to hear more about his personal life, it was a good TV moment. There is an interesting article about Pete as Mayor with a lot of good details, both good and bad about how he has done in that job. I'd like to hear more about those things and more about the specific things he intends to accomplish as President. Well hopefully if they pull all the Fixer Upper off HGTV they can move some of the DIY shows over there. I'm thinking about when Oprah started OWN it took her years to build up enough content to actually fill all the time on her channel and even now it is a lot of re-runs of other shows.

I think she'll have plenty for the next few years, but my wish is that someday she can have a Friday night cocktails and trivia show again. It seems like forever since she used to do those.
