This is nice news. Jacob has come a long way since his beat walking backwards talking to people in line at polling places in 2016. His reports from the border on children in detention were chilling. I still think of them.
  2. Ernie Hudson is coming back! https://deadline.com/2019/03/grace-and-frankie-creator-reveals-ernie-hudson-return-1202576977/
  3. This sounds like she was having some kind of manic episode. https://radaronline.com/exclusives/2019/03/luann-de-lesseps-asked-dennis-shields-6-million-death/
  4. I am going to miss this show. I'm sad that Frankie screwed up---I was someone who has been rooting for her--seemed like she got such a huge chance when she got this show. That said I believe the actress and Rosie that it happened, and there should be consequences. I thought this was a really great ensemble cast--from Bridgette and Larry and Tutu to Ally's messed up family. I particularly loved Rosie and Connie Britton in their parts. I hope Frankie takes this to heart and gets some mentoring before she takes on such a big project again--I think she is very talented and I would love to see her do something else. I was just reading an interview with another woman director who said that women directors in Hollywood have to be perfect--one mistake, and you're done.
  5. I read one interview with Lisa Marie and I got the impression she wanted to take care of Michael. Maybe growing up the daughter of another "King" that she lost, she married one. I just saw this article about pro MJ people running ads against the documentary. https://www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-47551316?ns_source=twitter&ns_campaign=bbcnews&ns_mchannel=social&ocid=socialflow_twitter

Oh my.....Katy Tur is about to pop with her baby, and now Kasie Hunt is pregnant. They better recruit some new Road Warriors to travel with all these candidates during the next year, I don't think these two are going to want to take the babies on the road.
  7. Oh my goodness....did Michael Eric Dyson cut his long hair????
  8. This show makes me want to watch with a spreadsheet open to tabulate the amount of money they spend due to buying houses without knowing of major problems or making major changes after they make the budget or just plain screwing up or carrying costs due to not planning or organizing things before they start. I feel like at the end of a season you would have enough money to buy another whole house and flip it with that money.
  9. I watched the last episode last night and I was kind of expecting something because I'd been reading here, but when I saw Grace's face.....HA! Take that Megyn Kelly! It was great. Really now they just need to find Frankie boyfriend and buy a beach duplex and let them be next door neighbors.
  10. I think Teddi got some Bravo coaching from Jeff Lewis when she was helping him lose weight. He knows that Bravo wants the conflict and drama, and I bet that is where her personality on camera came from.
  11. I just watched the second episode and now I am so angry I want to punch people. A lot of people. I want to go piss on Michael's grave, I am glad Johnny Cochran died a painful death, I want ALL the Jacksons to lose all the money they still suck out of his music, I want to punch those mothers. Both of them. I got so enraged hearing Stephanie express joy when he died so he could not hurt other children--when her enabling allowed him to continue to hurt more kids after her son was molested. And I particularly want to punch that damn juror who voted to let him off because she didn't like the prosecutor.
  12. Well this didn't last long.
  13. I think it is telling that both men opened up to what happened after becoming fathers themselves. My guess is that feeling that powerful love of a child made them face what happened to them and how their parents failed to protect them. I think both of them want to do better by their children. Also, I looked at Wade's IMDB and unless I'm reading it incorrectly he has no recent work as a choreographer or dancer. My impression was that one of the reasons he tried to auction off some of his memorabilia was to help pay for the expenses he had. I have a feeling that while some people in the business may pay lip service to "believing the victims", that it will be hard for him to get that sort of job working for someone else again. Too much baggage.
  14. James seems to be at a really different place in his life --he seems much clearer about what happened, and it feels like he is still suffering grief for what happened to him and his family. He really broke my heart. I think Wade's life has been much more complicated--he stayed in the business and used his dance experience with Michael to try to have a career so I suspect staying in that world may have made his journey harder. Also, in the beginning of the doc--they showed him at the age he met Michael--he was a freaking baby--5 years old--still talking with a baby lisp. In addition to a great degree, his connection to Michael broke up his family--his father killed himself....and all of it could be connected in his mind to his experience being attached to Michael. I feel like James's mother probably came to some realization of what happened earlier than Wade's family--she seems much more stable than Wade's mother. Wade has a blog--it sounds like he is working very hard on himself. https://waderobson.com/wadeswindow I think for both of them--this experience of telling their story must be very big--but to tell it and know that Michael is dead, they will never be able to talk to him about what he did to them or in any way directly confront it, it has to be very hard.
  15. Remember Rabbi Schmuley? The Michael that talked to him sounds like more of an adult--a delusional one who wanted to find his perfect woman--a combination of Mother Theresa, Princess Diana, and Katie Couric. For some reason I am hearing Katie's voice going "ewww". His comments about Angelina Jolie are flat out vulgar. https://www.avclub.com/the-michael-jackson-tapes-by-rabbi-shmuley-boteach-1798218779 Oprah interview with Lisa Marie https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/lisa-marie-presley-michael-jackson_us_574603b8e4b055bb11710d34 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1196395/Lisa-Marie-Presley-said-passionate-lover-So-WAS-truth-Jacksons-sexuality.html Interview about Debbie Rowe. https://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/MichaelJackson/story?id=8023028&page=1 After Michael died, Schmuley said that Michael's team had booked him for 50 comeback concerts and that he was physically and mentally not up to it--that he was terrified. I remember seeing the rehearsal footage for that show after he died, and he looked very frail I suspect he was afraid he couldn't do it and demanding the drugs was his way of trying to get ready--he knew he was frail.
  16. More info about Wade and the memorabilia here. https://people.com/music/wade-robson-burns-rare-michael-jackson-memorabilia-leaving-neverland/
  17. The most chilling line in this so far was Michael telling one of the mothers "I always get what I want". I was originally feeling sick or sad for ALL of them--including Michael--who had such a messed up childhood himself that turned him into such a messed up man. But that line, plus all the steps he took with them--the drilling on how to get dressed quickly, bells on the doors to warn him if anyone got close to his bedroom when he was with one of his boys, all the different private, separate places he could be alone with them. He knew it was wrong and he did everything he could to get what he wanted and not get caught.

David is my nominee to take over the Morning Joe slot if Joe and Mika ever retire. His show is very smart, he is very well informed and he creates a great salon-type atmosphere that would work at that time of day.
  19. By doing exactly what he planned to do in 2016 if he had lost like he expected--he will do everything possible to undermine public confidence in the election. I head people on the right discussing strong, armed reactions to the 2018 elections online. That is what all of this attack on our elections is about. Make it so that our free elections, which are the center of our Democracy suddenly are considered "rigged" or unreliable and make people question whether the new person elected is legitimate.
  20. I noticed that Cohen comment during the hearing. That one, and the comment he made about him having lied and done the dirty work for 10 years and now he's paying for it that was directed at the GOP committee members--telling them "you guys will understand that". I found both of those statements chilling and I was glad Rachel included it in her closing. We need to remember the run-up to the election in '16 and all the repetition of how the election was going to be "rigged".

    Design Shows

Best House on the Block is available now on the DIY channel. I follow Lauren Liess, the designer and I think their show is pretty good. I think they were originally filming for HGTV and then for some reason they released the show on DIY---and she said on her blog that they are still going to get a time slot on HGTV this year She posted some info about casting on her blog--it's kind of interesting how it works and what homeowners agree to. https://www.laurenliess.com/pure-style-home/hgtvs-best-house-on-the-block-casting-call
  22. Are they making Lena work with the government so the new President has an excuse to let her brother out to work with her?
  23. I'm starting to think she's being paid to be obnoxious for some reason. Calling a legal, rent-paying tenant a "squatter" was so entitled and offensive. The way they go at demo -such as the back of the house they added on to looks crazy and dangerous, and torching that bar out on the sidewalk near the neighbors looked scary to me. After all the talk about satisfying the historic rules, I am a little surprised they passed so easily with all the things they did to that house. Also, I did not care for those giant tear drop doors. I didn't mind the iron framework, tho I am not sure I would have chosen it but to me those doors did not fit with what they did in that house. Shout out to all the Chicago and Chicago adjacent people--I was born in Chicago, we moved to Calumet City when I was little and then moved to Central Illinois, then I came back north to NIU in DeKalb. Since we moved out of the city when I was very small I've never claimed to be from Chicago either.
  24. I assumed the whole took-a-long-time-to get-there point of the Agnew/Dukakis special report was also the secret intrigue with the Saudis for money and how that seems to be happening again. Either that or Rachel just had some leftovers from Bag Man. 🙂 I read that Jared is going back to the middle east to work on his "peace plan" again, so I figured that and the info Rachel talked about before about the Saudis financial relationships with the Enquirer were involved. I remember that Dukakis debate and was just as horrified by the question last night as I was when it happened originally. I'm not sure there IS an answer to that question that anyone who does not support the death penalty could give.
  25. Some of the people on CNN have said that the network provides them with heavy security--so I would assume when something like this happens, MSNBC would do the same. I'm pretty sure when Katy Tur was covering Trump and he called her out and she received threats they provided her with security on the road after that. When that other nut sent bombs the CNN people made it sound like security in their building is very tight.
