  1. Well that ending certainly got me interested in the show again. I cannot say I was surprised, and I usually don't know what is going to happen. So I suppose we have to wonder if Liv hand a hand in it? I don't know how their deaths would serve her purpose but I am easily befuddled by the directions this show takes.
  2. I used to love this show and never wanted to miss it. Now not so much. The lack of discipline makes me crazy. I don't expect the kids to behave perfectly. However I do expect the parents to hold them up to some standards of behavior. The kids are old enough to listen to their parents and obey them, at least some of the time. Will is a distraction to the rest of the kids in his karate class and it isn't fair to them or to their parents who paid for their participation in the class. Zoe giving looks to her parents is not acceptable. I don't want (or need to know) about any developmental delays they may be suffering from but I would like to see attempts made to instill good behavior in them. Heaven forbid Jen or Bill was ever anywhere alone with them and the kids decided to take off on a run to see something. For the kids' safety alone their behavior needs to be improved.
  3. I am so tired of HH asking for "vintage" or older homes to look at and then being aghast at them not being open concept or not having a bathroom with the master bedroom. I was so glad that the other day that the real estate agent showing the couple one of these houses told them that it was highly unlikely that an older home would feature either one of these as they weren't even thought of when those older homes were being built. Don't people try to educate themselves a bit before they go house hunting?? Apparently not.
  4. I would have been skeptical also but then I went to a friend's house last night. There were cars parked on both sides of her somewhat narrow street. Kids and adults rambling all over the street and just general chaos. I was able to make it to her house but only with difficulty and all of this went on for several hours. An ambulance would have been , at the very least, delayed
  5. Their motives for doing the show may have changed, but imho it is one thing for Bill and Jen to show their difficulties in order to educate the viewers (and or make $$) and something else completely to share Will's difficulties. He is a child, he cannot make that decision for himself and it wouldn't be fair to him to show details of his developmental delays. His classmates could be privy to that info and he could be subjected to teasing and bullying. His deserves some privacy in that regard and I am glad Jen and Bill appear to be providing that privacy to him.
  6. first Tony, now Abby and Ducky. If this show gets renewed again the only person worth watching will be Mark Harmon.
  7. Thanks Nidratime for sharing Diana's comments on Murtagh. Looking forward to part 2.
  8. Just got the alert from People magazine on her pregnancy. How sad. Why on earth would she want a baby with someone who deserted his previous baby mama for her. Momager must be thrilled at this news. Just when I thought this family couldn't get any worse.
  9. All the pre-show advertising piqued my interest. I just watched the episode and I was very impressed. Great episode and Freddy Highmore (who I had never seen before) really played his role very well. Looking forward to more.
  10. Nevermind...I answered my own question. Google is my friend.
  11. I just watched on my DVR last night. Don't think I will tape it again. That Papa Putman is full of himself isn't he? What pushed me over the edge was his statement when he was told that hospital policy only allowed 2 visitors (for his daughter who had just had a baby). His response, if I remember it correctly, was "Putman policy supercedes hospital policy". They all should have been thrown out of the room. Here is a woman who just had a caesarean section, has a new born baby with her, and all of these people are barging into her room. All of the grandchildren just HAVE to see their new cousin (according to papa Putman). What about all the germs those kids and adults could be carrying into the room? There is a reason hospitals have rules regarding number of and ages of visitors. But Papa Putman thinks he is king of all he surveys so the heck with what anyone else thinks. I think I can handle the Duggars better than this family. Don't know how those kids managed to find spouses willing to go along with their father's idea of the ideal family.
  12. so maybe Murtagh is going to get a dramatic death scene at Ardsmuir rather than Culloden?. I am now curious to see if this change will change anything else at Ardsmuir.
  13. nevermind
  14. Yes, Will shouldn't have to have his hand held. But since he either hasn't been taught to listen to his parent's requests or doesn't care to listen then perhaps having to hold dad or grandparents' hands might have taught him that if he doesn't listen then there are consequences. Adorable kids, I love watching them and the family, but last night they got on my last nerve when they were in the castle.
  15. That house is really something...A bit over the top but perhaps they need all that room for one reason or the other. I grew up in a house on the water and i have many happy memories of walking out the back door down the lawn and into the lake. So hopefully the kids will have that same enjoyment.
  16. I was thinking the same thing. The kids are beyond adorable but there is nothing wrong with making sure the kids were closely supervised while in some of those places. Those kids are very young, nothing wrong with making sure they held either Bill's or one of the grandparents hands while walking around places like the castle. They should not have been running around loose. Of course I suppose it makes for better tv if the kids are wandering around somewhat on their own and Bill did finally put his foot down when Zoe didn't want to get on the proper side of the velvet rope.
  17. As far as as the two of them going their separate ways I can understand why Clarie did not do that. My understanding is that divorce was somewhat scandalous back then, and perhaps she wanted to avoid that for Brianna's sake. She also knew that Jamie was sending her back with the understanding that Frank would look after her and the child. So by staying with Frank she was respecting Jamie's wishes. imho of course.
  18. If I remember correctly willie told someone else who eventually sees Jamie and tells him he knows and threatens him. Young Ian overhears and dispatches the guy with a well placed arrow. Ian then has to make a fast escape.
  19. I have a BA in English and a Masters in Library Science. I have 3 bookcases full of books; one book case is devoted to religious books (Catholic religious books, the horror!). I have never posed with my books, and while my family and friends know what a voracious reader I am I don't feel it necessary to flaunt my books to others. I could only wish that Jeremy would learn some tolerance for Catholics (and others) from all those books he is so fond of.
  20. Happy Birthday Dot! You are a woman after my own heart. I too have lost a fair amount of weight, and I do indulge myself on my birthday. I figure if I only do that on a special occasion, then it helps me get through those times when I am sorely tempted by the ice cream aisle in my local Wegmans. Glad to hear I am not alone! Have a great day and enjoy your extra calories.
  21. So the show is definitely cancelled? I will only miss it because it was so snark worthy.
  22. sheesh! Someone else blaming a malfunctioning organ for their weight gain. I too have an under active thyroid and I don't blame it for my weight. I gained weight because I over ate and now I am losing weight because I am eating less and moving more. I also take medication for my under active thyroid and that puts my thyroid level right where it should be. I just cannot believe a woman would put herself at risk for the dubious honor of having the world's widest hips.
  23. This is the funniest thing ever! Thank you for posting it.
  24. Can you share a little bit of what made her child/adolescence a rough go? I don't want to invest any $, no matter how little, in her book, but I would be glad to give her some sympathy if she truly deserved it.
  25. While I haven't watched it yet the reaction from some devoted Outlander fans on facebook was not favorable. The hosts were said to be "vapid twits", and they apparently (in these fans' opinion) treated the whole interview as a joke. I usually do not watch these interviews because the questions are frequently repetitive and the hosts are either giggley or completely clueless.
