  1. Wow. What a contrast between what Kleinfeld's usually trots out for prospective brides and what Pippa Middleton wore. Just breathtaking. It will be interesting to see if future brides we see on SYTD will start preferring less bling/pnina dresses and more of the tasteful and classic style dresses like Pippa's. Probably not too likely but one can always hope.
  2. I wondered about the Pooh lady. I saw enough of her advertisements (thank you TLC, not!) to know that I didn't want to watch her, but I know my viewing interests are not the ones TLC is aiming for.
  3. I haven't watched it but based on the episode descriptions some of those weight loss goals look rather unrealistic. I know the heavier I was the faster I lost weight initially, but not near as fast as some of the goals listed. I think they are setting themselves up for failure, but of course that makes for good tv unfortunately.
  4. As a lifelong Catholic these types of books make me crazy. So many of them either don't understand Catholic theology or just misrepresent it. I enjoy a good debate but both sides need to use accurate information to make their points and I am sure Ben and his favorite authors don't do that. I would love to see him come up against a truly good Catholic apologist. Maybe he would learn something but probably not.
  5. I had to use a Cpap machine due to my morbid obesity. As soon as I lost the weight I no longer needed the cpap machine. Due to the strain on my knees due to my morbid obesity I ended up needing a knee replacement in one knee. But now that I have lost the weight my other knee is much better and at this point my doctor says I don't need to do anything more than to continue to exercise and keep the weight off. If only Whitney would lose the weight she could most likely lose the cpap machine and possibly not need knee replacement or at least have a whole lot less knee pain discomfort. Not too fabulous to need a cpap and possibly knee surgery at her age.
  6. I actually didn't mind Omarosa in this episode. I expected to find her extremely annoying and that was not the case. I was surprised not to see Shay in this episode. Glad he wasn't in it because I definitely find him annoying but seeing as he has been in the last few episodes I was expecting to see him in this one too.
  7. Wow! That x-ray is about what my right knee looked like before I had my knee replacement.. I was 63 at the time. Knee replacement surgery is not fun. Her continued fat fabulous life is going to destroy the cartilage in her "good" knee also and she will hardly be able to walk much less attempt to dance.
  8. Thanks auntjess. Just set the DVR lol.
  9. Mama June's transformation is amazing! Whitney better be banking some of that TLC $ because if she ever has weight loss surgery and loses the 200 or more lbs she needs to lose she is going to have a whole lot of loose skin and she will need a whole lot of spanx because insurance doesn't always pay for excess skin removal. I am losing my weight the old fashioned way (eat less/move more) and you are right AZChristian, the pay off is amazing!
  10. thanks enoughcats! I thought he looked slightly familiar. I will have to watch again.
  11. Hmm totally missed Bruce Boxleitner in last night's episode. Who did he play?
  12. so what exactly did she do?? Out with friends and couldn't watch last night but I am very curious as to how she acted and danced last night. Thanks for any info!
  13. Is that what the guy with the 132 lb scrotum had? Cannot remember anything but the title of that show lol.
  14. My sister is actually going to do this. She has it all arranged. She is not frugal or poor she just thinks it would be a cool thing to do. She was telling me about it and she said there were weight requirements. Not a problem for her but apparently they aren't interested in overweight folks, at least at the medical school in my city.
  15. Yeah that was how I remembered the scene but I wasnt watching that closely (not enjoying the show show like I used to) so some of my details might be wrong. Will be interested in hearing some other theories!
  16. I don't pay as close attention as I probably should, but this is the theory I came up with last night. I think Rowan/Eli put it there. It is evidence that he is being coerced by threats to Olivia's life. I think it was Charlie who made a comment when they were gathered around Sandra's plastic wrapped body that they found it in an old B613 (whatever it is called) dumping ground and he was surprised that they were still using it. At least that is what I think he said. So Rowan dumped it there hoping that one of Olivia's people would think to look there, find the body, and then find the camera. That way Olivia would have to believe him as she would now have proof that they are using her well being to control him.
  17. honeydo7 it is one of my favorites also (obviously lol). I have it on DVD. Very well cast, imho, but Mark Harmon remains one of my favorites.
  18. Just another comment on the young Mark Harmon. Many years ago there was a mini series on tv called Centennial. Mark Harmon played a calvary officer. I still swoon (and I am 66) at the thought of a young Mark Harmon in a calvary uniform on a horse. I cannot find a good picture on google but it was a sight to behold.
  19. She apparently considers herself a feline lover yet her cats are pooing all over the house because she doesn't clean or scoop the litter boxes on a regular basis? And I don't think she is "an independent woman" when she is relying on a reality show to make a living and her father had to cosign her mortgage.
  20. I too think James would find a way to get food in if his enablers/helpers weren't willing or available. I used to watch a show featuring morbidly obese people set at the Brookhaven clinic (on Long Island) Anyone else watch? The premise was that if these folks were hospitalized their food intake could be closely monitored and weight loss would occur. Well much like the previously mentioned Dominique these folks found a way. They would call and get food delivered...if I remember correctly one person even dropped a basket out the window down to the ground where a delivery person was waiting with his food. The patient would send the $ down and the delivery person would send the food back up. They were very creative and I don't think many of them had any noticeable weight loss. So I don't hold out a lot of hope for James.
  21. As someone who was morbidly obese (now down to just obese and working on those last few lbs to get to a healthy weight) I applaud that article that Summer posted. When we applaud morbid obesity we are dismissing the myriad of serious health problems associated with it. I don't think anyone should be fat shamed. I know first hand how hard it can be to maintain and or achieve a healthy weight. But to try and make morbid obesity sexy and to ignore the many problems associated with it is to do a disservice to those folks who very much need to get to a healthy weight before permanent damage is done.
  22. This is the first time I have ever found myself yelling at the tv during this show. The delusion was rampant last night. I fully expected to see James death notice on the screen at the end of the 2 hours. My heart breaks for his father having refinanced his home for nothing. At one time I was morbidly obese (296 lbs) but am now at a healthy weight after finally getting tired of lugging that extra weight around. If not being able to sit up, not being able to get out of bed, and a diagnosis of congestive heart failure didn't convince James to stick to Dr. Now's diet nothing will and he is doomed. So sad especially for his father, Lisa, and Bailey.
  23. I have recently lost a fair amount of weight and as part of my weight loss I took a healthy eating program. It was eye opening. I, along with everyone else in the class, had no idea what an actual serving size was. I thought I had a good handle on portion size based on the weight I was losing but I was surprised to see what the various serving sizes were. Sadly Whitney doesn't appear to be interested in learning anything about healthy eating she just continues to shovel the food in. Which is what I did for far too long but I have climbed out of that rut as the health consequences were piling up. I can only hope Whitney can stop her destructive eating and delusional behavior before it is too late.
  24. thanks for the congrats Geekygal16. It wasn't easy but I am feeling so much better it was worth it. Only about 50 more lbs to go! I started noticing knee issues when I was in my 40's. (now 65). Also weighed less than Whitney (296 lbs) . Ignored knee problems for years then did the cortisone shots. Eventually had to have knee replacement surgery. Most people I know who have had the surgery either come directly from the hospital to home with outpatient PT, or go to rehab for a week or so and then go home with PT. I was still in a wheelchair when I left the hospital and spent 3 weeks in rehab before they judged me able to go home and continue the PT on an outpatient basis. I attribute my lengthier recovery and rehab to my obesity. If had been thinner I am sure I would have bounced back from the surgery much more quickly and certainly required less time in a rehab facility. So I look at Whitney and I can only imagine her dealing with the knee replacement surgery which is in her future (and probably at a much younger age than I had it). They would need a hoyer lift just to get her in and out of bed. She can try and fool herself all she wants but her overweight body and overworked joints are going to have the last laugh and it isn't going to be pretty. She isn't going to be fat and fabulous trying to do rehab on a new knee while dealing with a whole lot of pain. Although that might make for an interesting show!
