Watch Me (Whip/ Nae Nae). The most annoying song of the summer so far.

I love Kelly's voice. I wish she would pick more interesting songs to sing lately, it seems that her covers are more exciting than her actual releases. -
TV Tropes: Love 'em or Loathe 'em
Janet Snakehole replied to galax-arena's topic in Everything Else TV
I hate the trope/stereotype that guys who like cats are losers or creepy or not masculine. Actually, I always thought it was weird how few tv characters have cats compared to how many people have them in real life. Obviously, a set is not the greatest place for a cat, but a pet cat could easily be referenced and not shown. -
I love The Killers' version of Romeo and Juliet originally by Dire Straits.

"Haven't really thought about it this way but maybe she thinks that by doing that (bitching/moaning bout people being mean) is in some twisted way being empowering and standing up for yourself?" That is exactly what she thinks. Her feminist theory is based around the whole hell having a special place for women who don't support each other, but hasn't quite gotten to the point where she looks outside of herself yet. -
I agree that Sam Claflin is a fine Finnick. I think the way the character was written made people upset that he wasn't the hottest ever, but I don't care. Claflin is likable and a good actor. On the note of Liam Hemsworth, I think he is more attractive than his brother.

It is not a perfect apology, but hey, at least she is not acting like the victim like I was convinced she would. And she is taking a step back. Progress. Maybe she will learn from this and be a bit more chill when it comes to this kind of stuff. Or maybe even learn to laugh at herself. I want to root for her, since I do think songs like Style and Blank Space show song writing talent. -
Party of One: Unpopular TV Opinions

I liked Phoebe through about season 5, but after a while she just got mean. I hated when she introduced Monica to the guy she thought was Monica's soulmate, when Monica was freaking married to Chandler. Chandler was supposedly one of her good friends, but she was straight up cruel to him at times. And the way she treated David in Barbados. I did not mind her quirky stuff at first, but when combined with the meanness, she was my least favorite on the show. -

I am not quite there yet. With Taylor, you'd also get her cats Meredith and Olivia, and they are pretty cute. -

I do wonder if the age we are in now with twitter and about 50 bazillion celebrity websites kind of sets us up for this. There was a bit more mystery in celebrity before and now we see every instance of pettiness and unlikeability. But we still hold celebrities on a pedestal, so when they do make mistakes, like Taylor has, they have a harder fall. I am not really defending her, because her lack of awareness with the Apple/Spotify issue and with tweeting Nicki has been astounding. It is just kind of a weird culture we have now. -

Oh my god the tweet inviting Nicki up onstage if Taylor wins made me cringe. Also, I never liked Kim Kardashian more than when I saw her tweet. -
Honestly, this is one of my favorite feel good movies. It came out when I was 11, and one of my favorite things about it is when I went back and watched it when I was older and seeing all of the jokes that flew over my head.

I want Emily Blunt for Carol Danvers. It makes sense to have a woman in her mid to late 30s play the role. After Edge of Tomorrow, I can totally see her playing a badass superhero.

Ooh. That is tough. I would say 10 Things and Clueless are about equal to me. The 90s teen comedies are probably the best in my opinion. Easy A is probably my favorite teen movie from the past decade.

I hope this isn't too off topic but: what I like about the Parks and Recreation relationships is that the couples stayed entertaining after getting together. I just rewatched The Office, and given the similarities of the shows, it really stuck out to me that Parks and Rec just handled long term couples better. We got to see the build up of Leslie and Ben and April and Andy, and while it wasn't as dramatic as Pam and Jim, the beginnings were just as touching and I rooted for them just as much. Andy and April and Leslie and Ben were teams the whole way through, and still had natural chemistry despite being together for years. They supported each others' goals, and talked to each other like adults. Yes, man child Andy and April despite all her issues were more mature in dealing with conflict than most couples on tv. It was just refreshing to see long term couples who genuinely like each other and worked together to have good lives.

19 Kids And Counting - General Discussion
Janet Snakehole replied to Primetimer's topic in 19 Kids And Counting
All the Duggars are pretty boring though, and still had fans. I think there would unfortunately be an audience for the Jill and Jessa show, and TLC knows this. Sign me up with the camp that thinks a new Duggar show without the parents or Josh will eventually pop up. -
I actually think the human canvasses should have a voice, but it should be more about individual experience and satisfaction. Like the guy who dealt with Julia a few seasons ago, I was glad that he got to speak out about how she told him to F off. Instead of the jury, why not have the judges talk to the canvasses at the end of the tattoo experience individually and take into account how the artist was with them? That way there is no weird ganging up on people like in this episode, when Duffy had done a good tattoo that was exactly what she wanted. I thought the Phoenix and knight were worse than the losing tattoo. That knight will fade like crazy in a few years. I am excited for this season overall. Looks like less yelling, and I like the idea of the mentor apprentice drama better than the rivals.

I think she gets both over the top hate and over the top love. She can write a song, but she is like most celebrities out there. Ambitious, money seeking, and a need for adoration. -
In fairness to the casting of Jennifer Lawrence, I think the movie is supposed to follow Joy from her teens on. If they are going the route of one actress playing the same role over time, it might be easier to age someone in the middle of the ages portrayed. That being said, I definitely thought she was hanging out with her younger siblings rather than her kids in that one snippet in the trailer.

Sometimes I don't mind Nice Guys, as long as they have a shred of awareness. I think Chandler and Ross as Nice Guys kind of count as that, because both they and the show could take a step back and examine some of their behavior as being over the top. I also am more forgiving of Nice Guys/Girls who are teenagers. Seth Cohen could kind of be seen as one, but he never bugged me because he was a teen, and to teens everything is dramatic. I think it is all about context for me, as long as the show is not painting the Nice Person as entitled to what they want and absolutely right, I can deal with it.

Agreed. I also think Rachel gets too much hate. I really dislike her when she is paired with someone, JA's acting when Rachel has a crush or is flirty is practically painful to me. But I love her chemistry as a friend with the other friends. I love her single personality because she is laid back and also girly, which you don't see often on tv. Usually the girly girl is uptight and Rachel is pretty chill when not with a romantic interest. I especially enjoy her moments with Chandler as they are both pretty sarcastic and more realistic as characters than some of the other friends. -
Does anyone know what Javi does in the Air Force? I am surprised he hasn't deployed yet. And when that happens, there is no way they are making it through that. Or maybe we will be lucky and he'll be transferred to a base overseas and Kail will have to be off the show.

Yes. This. I was never an Alex fan, but this season made me have much more respect for her. She is serving her time, trying to stay alive, and therefore avoiding a lot of the bullshit. Piper is privileged lady trying to play king pin, messing with women who actually may not have lifelines outside of prison, and it is so annoying. I genuinely hope Alex is alive and that Piper gets a little comeuppance next season.
