  1. I would like to see Lapis get along with humans more than the Crystal Gems. She is basically a sullen teenager (except around Steven), so it could be fun to see her hanging with Sour Cream, Buck, and Jenny.
  2. I actually liked Ryan best with Lindsay. She brought out a great side of him. I also kind of wanted Ryan with Anna. I also missed drunk Kirsten, and actually question whether she actually was an alcoholic or someone who had an alcohol abuse problem. Her alcoholic arc was, what, a few months? Idk, maybe I am wrong, but it seemed very rushed. I liked Marissa best when she was on downward spirals. Seth was a million times whinier than Marissa ever was.
  3. Loved the callback of Peridot saying "wow thanks" when Steven told her he loved her.
  4. Seth Cohen from the OC. It always amazed me how the fandom hated Marissa who was full of drama for losing her family, her mom sleeping with her exboyfriend, her current boyfriend getting his ex pregnant maybe, and really obviously having depression. But they loved Seth who was whiny and ran away from home because his friend had to move about an hour away, constantly bitched about being unlucky in love when he had 3 love interests in the span of year, lied to Summer and jerked her around, and had to suffer through the unbearable misery of being a rich kid with loving parents living in freaking beautiful California. Of course he had his own real issues, but he was every bit as whiny as Marissa. I get that Adam Brody is a more charismatic actor than Mischa Barton could ever dream of being, but Seth was the definition of first world problems.
  5. I just rewatched Home Alone last night, and, man, was Kevin a little shit. He called his mom a dummy or a jerk or something and she didn't blink. It also seemed like his dad could not care less about him, which I found kind of hilarious. How long was the family actually gone for? Really, the old neighbor was the only likeable one.
  6. Spoilers rarely bother me. I got spoiled for the new Star Wars, and just kind of shrugged and moved on. I didn't really try to avoid the, I figure spoilers are inevitable these days. Granted, I am not a high level fan, but I am still excited to see how the movie plays out on screen despite knowing where the story is going.
  7. Meh, I would rather go on a trip to Arizona or Colorado with someone I just met instead of a beachy island resort that screams honeymoon.
  8. A lot of the clients' parents were bad. I am sure part of it was to make the sitters look like amazing super sitters, but it was just one of many things that made me wonder about Ann M. Martin and her worldview.
  9. Stoneybrook was FILLED with bad parents. Kristy's dad, Stacey's dad, both of Dawns's parents, and poor freaking Mallory had to take care of her younger siblings all the time.
  10. Don't know much about Frank, but you should be ok. I am not huge MCR fan, but they are fairly talented I think and have the standard Teen Angst from the 2000s. It happens and is it not too much to worry about.
  11. These are my crack. I got the LORAC Mega Pro 2, and am enjoying it a lot. I also got the the BITE discovery kit. Pretty good, but two of the colors in the set are a bit too close to each other for my taste, the pencil in Glacé and the lipstick in Pepper. It is nice, cooler my lips but better, but kind of wish one of them were warmer or less close to my lip color.
  12. I will always stand by South Park's criticism of Family Guy. It is a bunch of randomly strung together "oh so edgey" sequences that basically could have been written by manatees.
  13. I love Adele's voice, but she is the anti-Taylor to me in a bad way. Taylor is too immature in songs, and Adele sounds to me more like a hardened person beyond her years. I just can't get into her lyrics.
  14. Wait, I am sheltered. Does this mean that there is a big amount of slash in South Park fandom? It shouldn't surprise me but it does. I loved that Butters' Canadian girlfriend came back, I am enjoying the continuity this season. The last song was probably one of my favorites ever on this show. I died with the karaoke video with the actors playing Craig and Tweak.
  15. Whoa, I totally remember that ep! It was surprisingly deep for a kids' show, especially as someone with some body image issues.
  16. Agree and quoted for truth. The episode made me laugh, but I actually felt bad that they chose Demi, who was bulimic. And part of the weird child star machine.
  17. I loved Jim and Pam at first, but looking back at the episodes I felt like I was also rooting for one of them over the other. It felt like the fandom was often arguing over which one was "right" in the end, and it made me start to dislike them. It also bugged me that Jim got to achieve his ambitions when Pam who was into art just kind of gave up careerwise. They are harder for me to root for now, especially after watching the sister show Parks and Rec where Leslie and Ben spent their relationship going back and forth supporting each other. Not saying this was Jim's fault at all, because he did support her with art school, but it was kind of demoralizing to see her just have it be a hobby when he got to create a business.
  18. I feel like this is comedic Lord of the Flies/28 Days Later type scenario. Last season showed individual darkness with Phil to mixed degrees, now this one is showing how groups turn on one person. The Tucson group done some pretty low things. It is not as fun as the first episode of the season, but I am willing to see what happens. I did like Carol's slice of cheese that she took. And like Phil, cheese would make me want to break house arrest.
  19. I loved the premiere. It made me start to really like the idea of Phil and Carol as a loving married couple. They work really well together. It also ended on a dark enough note for a show about post apocalyptic relationships. The music is also surprisingly moving for some reason.
  20. In the spirit of Halloween, it has come up before but zombies don't scare me, they gross me out. Ghost stories are somewhat scary for me but more entertaining. However, aliens scare the crap out of me. I feel like a lot of people think they are stupid idea in sci if shows and movies lately, but seriously, nothing paranormal scares me more.
  21. The concept of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies bugs me, I can't quite put my finger on why. I am not a zombie fan, and am ok with P and P, but the melding of the two seems like it is trying too hard to be adorably weird and zany. Yes, I know zombies are not cute, but the idea just seems twee to me for some reason. [Anyhoo, what does it say about me that my favorite zombie movie of all time is Warm Bodies] With you completely on this! Maybe it is because I dislike zombies so much that I am happy that they can change back in the end?
  22. I also watch on Hulu, not sure why they are so late in posting episodes. I have never disagreed more with the judges than on this one. Craig did the only good, realistic portrait in my opinion. Chris's looked nice, but more like turning a photo into an old school Uncle Sam type drawing. Cool for a military challenge, but not really a realistic portrait. I actually thought Duffy's was adequate, it did not do the woman too many favors, but I could easily recognize it was her. Matt turned a lovely photo of an attractive woman into a crone. I would be so insulted if I were her. Kruzeman turned the guy into a zombie, and was probably one of the worst portraits I have seen. The work on the uniform was great but he should have been eliminated for the face. All in all, it just reinforced that I hate portrait tattoos. Chris is unbearable. I can't believe he felt the need to point out to everyone that the one portrait was the Navy guy wearing his dress uniform. Yes, Chris, we can see that.
  23. That is fair, and honestly my post is more directed towards criticism I see of Anne and Jlaw. I think Taylor tends to use "feminism" to mean "don't critique me". She may grow out of it, I am not holding my breath, but who knows.
  24. I really dislike Katy Perry as an artist and am not a fan of her image, but that article raises a good point about her selecting female artists to tour with her. I still think it was immature for her to stoop to Taylor's level by vague tweeting about her. Super passive aggressive.
  25. I actually don't have a huge problem with Anne, Taylor, or Jlaw. I see how they all might be trying hard in some way or another, but I don't quite understand the criticism for this. They aren't independent artists just for the sole purpose of doing it for the craft, they are celebrities. Their job is to be celebrated. Of course they will try hard to be liked. I think anyone who thinks any celebrity is not trying hard in some way to be liked is kidding themselves.
