  1. For me it comes down to her self-righteousness combined with (just like her dead hubby) making all the wrong decisions. The living woman had terrible judgment and ironically the undead one continues with this bone-headed tradition. I am aware part of the fandom sees UnCat as a sort of "hell yeah!" vengeance demon but I see both the living and the undead version as a cautionary tale of bad judgment, bad luck and vengeance terribly gone wrong.
  2. It's confusing and frustrating loving Jaime Lannister as both a books reader and show watcher. But probably not as confusing and frustrating as the pull of Cersei's vagina is for Jaime. But I loved the good-bye between the brothers - almost made me cry.
  3. The skeletons fighting reminded me of THE MUMMY movies. The final Tyrion/Jaime hugs made me all verklempt. Oh, Jaime you are so complex...
  4. Thanks, Pete Martell. How strange. Maybe a fake-out to throw us off?
  5. What's this with Jaime going to Dorne. Is this confirmed to happen?
  6. I have a critical love for both the books and the show so I don't mind if others don't watch with rose colored glasses and are critical. But there is a difference between being critical and being a hater. I used to really enjoy Larry Williams during the first season but I stopped watching his reviews quite a while ago. Is anybody else here reading the "Hey, don't judge me" recaps? They are so funny! The lady who writes them is terrific.
  7. I am enjoying the "Thief" series by Megan Whalen Turner - I am reading "The King Of Attolia" now.
  8. Is anybody here familiar with the Canadian TV series INTELLIGENCE? A really compelling drama that was cancelled way too soon.
  9. Certainly my favorite of the companions. I can't re-watch her last episode because it makes me both incredibly sad for Donna and angry about her fate.
  10. Next week's finale is going to be overloaded with plot. I am guessing Stoneheart has to be cut for this season, how could they possibly fit that in? That does look like Brienne. Wow. So she is going to perform an ear-ectomy on the Hound? Wow.
  11. I don't know. The episode was well executed but something was missing for me. I think it's because in general I just care less about the Northern and the Wall story line. For me also the momentum was broken from last episode.
  12. So true. Actually I don't like Hilary and her partner on the show - and many of the couples they have on the show. All in all I prefer Fixer Upper where I actually like the designer and the people they fix up the houses for.
  13. My favorite Miss Marple is the fey one played by Geraldine McEwan. From what I gathered I am definitely in the minority on that one.
  14. My feelings for Cersei range from dislike to loathing but I hate that walk of shame scene with a power of a thousand suns. I not only hate the slut shaming aspect of it but also that it invites the worst aspects of human beings to come out in reaction to it.
  15. The actor is very attractive, he has that special something. I have to always remind myself what evil the character has done. It's definitely the actor not the character for me - I don't find anything attractive about books Roose. However, I find everything about Ramsay revolting - die already you icky eevil hobbit....
  16. Dorothy Dunnett's THE LYMOND CHRONICLES. Adapting it for TV might be brilliant or an utter disaster. Maybe HBO would do it justice.
  17. IMO, the bloom is definitely off that romance. Personally I have always believed Jorah was an invaluable adviser to the rather immature Dany. Things are bound to go downhill with his banishment.
  18. I really liked the music and the three main actors are interesting but I only understood how important these three people are once I read about it here. The pilot should have made that clear to me and it did not.
  19. Yes, cursing like a sailor on shore leave, poor thing. The evil Hobbit seemed almost touched when he got Daddy's approval. What a wholesome family moment that was.
  20. Bye-bye Oberyn, his death was even more awful than I thought it was going to be. I am really glad I read the books because I don't think I could take the TV show unspoiled. And even with being spoiled I get surprised by something almost every episode. I find player Sansa so much more interesting than the books version.
  21. I think Jon is not dead, he seems like one of those GRRM Teflon coated characters like Dany and Tyrion and Ayra. Killed off in "Winds" will be Jaime and Brienne - I will be truly shocked if one of them or both lives through the next book.
  22. Looks like TWoP is already kaput and I didn't get to post a last hurrah post. I am sad.
  23. I had zero expectations for Oleg when he was introduced and in just a few episodes Costa Ronin turned him into such an interesting character. Smug and vulnerable and comes across as very intelligent and savvy. I want him to explain the Internet to me instead of that awkward scene we got in the Arpanet episode.
  24. dalek, I don't know, I have never heard of that station - I will have to inquire. Thanks for the tip.
  25. I have a hard time putting into words why so-called "good guy" Stan bothers me so much more than Philip whose body count of killings keeps racketing up. I think it is partly because Stan is law enforcement and I hold people who are law enforcement to a higher standard of conduct since they have so much power over the public. I find it abhorrent that he kidnapped this innocent young man and terrorized and brutally murdered him without having any proof that his victim had anything to do with his partner's death. Stan fails on all fronts, as a FBI agent, as a husband, as a father and as a human being in general.
