  1. I don't know. The episode was well executed but something was missing for me. I think it's because in general I just care less about the Northern and the Wall story line. For me also the momentum was broken from last episode.
  2. So true. Actually I don't like Hilary and her partner on the show - and many of the couples they have on the show. All in all I prefer Fixer Upper where I actually like the designer and the people they fix up the houses for.
  3. My favorite Miss Marple is the fey one played by Geraldine McEwan. From what I gathered I am definitely in the minority on that one.
  4. My feelings for Cersei range from dislike to loathing but I hate that walk of shame scene with a power of a thousand suns. I not only hate the slut shaming aspect of it but also that it invites the worst aspects of human beings to come out in reaction to it.
  5. The actor is very attractive, he has that special something. I have to always remind myself what evil the character has done. It's definitely the actor not the character for me - I don't find anything attractive about books Roose. However, I find everything about Ramsay revolting - die already you icky eevil hobbit....
  6. Dorothy Dunnett's THE LYMOND CHRONICLES. Adapting it for TV might be brilliant or an utter disaster. Maybe HBO would do it justice.
  7. IMO, the bloom is definitely off that romance. Personally I have always believed Jorah was an invaluable adviser to the rather immature Dany. Things are bound to go downhill with his banishment.
  8. I really liked the music and the three main actors are interesting but I only understood how important these three people are once I read about it here. The pilot should have made that clear to me and it did not.
  9. Yes, cursing like a sailor on shore leave, poor thing. The evil Hobbit seemed almost touched when he got Daddy's approval. What a wholesome family moment that was.
  10. Bye-bye Oberyn, his death was even more awful than I thought it was going to be. I am really glad I read the books because I don't think I could take the TV show unspoiled. And even with being spoiled I get surprised by something almost every episode. I find player Sansa so much more interesting than the books version.
  11. I think Jon is not dead, he seems like one of those GRRM Teflon coated characters like Dany and Tyrion and Ayra. Killed off in "Winds" will be Jaime and Brienne - I will be truly shocked if one of them or both lives through the next book.
  12. Looks like TWoP is already kaput and I didn't get to post a last hurrah post. I am sad.
  13. I had zero expectations for Oleg when he was introduced and in just a few episodes Costa Ronin turned him into such an interesting character. Smug and vulnerable and comes across as very intelligent and savvy. I want him to explain the Internet to me instead of that awkward scene we got in the Arpanet episode.
  14. dalek, I don't know, I have never heard of that station - I will have to inquire. Thanks for the tip.
  15. I have a hard time putting into words why so-called "good guy" Stan bothers me so much more than Philip whose body count of killings keeps racketing up. I think it is partly because Stan is law enforcement and I hold people who are law enforcement to a higher standard of conduct since they have so much power over the public. I find it abhorrent that he kidnapped this innocent young man and terrorized and brutally murdered him without having any proof that his victim had anything to do with his partner's death. Stan fails on all fronts, as a FBI agent, as a husband, as a father and as a human being in general.
  16. I have vividly disliked this character ever since he shot that hapless and helpless young KGB agent in the head from behind. And his whole "handling" of Nina has only cemented my loathing.
  17. Thank you. However, I think I may be too new here to be able to create a thread and I don't know how yet either.
  18. If Nina really fell for Stan I would start to doubt her instincts and her intelligence. Thankfully according to the writers themselves Nina's feelings for Oleg are genuine.
  19. More than anything this season finale makes me want to know how these characters will deal with the not so distant future of Glasnost and the end of the Soviet Union. I want to know how Elizabeth and Philip would react to it. Especially Elizabeth. How the likes of Arkady and Oleg would fare under the new World order. I wish the series would be around long enough to show us this future.
  20. Interesting article about the Russian speaking actors. It would be nice to have threads for some of these guys in addition to the Nina thread.
  21. Maybe Oleg can help Nina somehow? I have a hard time believing this is the end for Nina. As for Stan, what a disgusting douche-bag. I despise him - not for choosing his country at the end but for the way he conducted himself all along with regards to Nina and the way he fucked her and fucked her over.
  22. Oh, how I will miss Pedro Pascal. He is wonderful as Oberyn. I thought this was Aiden Gillen's best work as Littlefinger. Often he has seemed too eeevil! mustache twirling and un-subtle for my taste but in this episode he sold it. All around fantastic episode.
  23. I wish they would air the German mystery series about Commissario Brunetti from the books by Donna Leon on American TV. You can only rent or buy some episodes through Amazon and it's expensive.
  24. I want to believe that Nina has no genuine feelings for Stan because of the way he coerced her sexually. I can't stand Stan. As to what's happening between Oleg and Nina - I think they are playing each other mixed in with some genuine attraction? I find the actor playing Oleg and the character very interesting.
  25. I have loved Jaime since the dungeon encounter with Cat in the second book - so before it became "cool" to like him. I have been really happy with the casting of NCW and it's been fun to see some show watchers not familiar with the books slowly change their mind about the character.
