  1. Another okay game for me. I got the ts's or missed DDs of across the board, bamboo, half a loaf, and twill. Instaget FJ. I agree, it was far too easy for a tournament.
  2. It was an okay game for me. I got the ts's of serpent, tat, and dandelion. Instaget FJ, which is the first FJ I've got in over a week.
  3. Yes, that sounds more like it. There was no formal reinstatement of Brackenreid but everyone just seemed to go back to their former position. I thought the art gallery owner was flirting with Watts.
  4. Yes, the artist was the murderer but he got away with a painting (but not the real one, as we found out) didn't he? Or did he not get away. I saw the telegram and the mark on the back of the painting when Margaret put it in the closet. So it is the real one. Anyway, in my first post, I was just pointing out that it was not one of their finer hours since they didn't really keep the bad guy. I like the way the show has always played with history to get Toronto involved somehow.
  5. Season 17 Ep. 2 Do The Right Thing Part 2 Oct. 9 2023 I forgot to post this last week although there wasn't too much to say about the episode since it turned out pretty much how we figured it would. So, aside from George going off to find his father, everyone is back in their proper place, little Susannah is safe, and justice prevails. Season 17 Ep. 3 Murdoch and the Mona Lisa Oct. 16 2023 I like the continuing thread throughout the series of Brackenreid as artist. Margaret's reaction to the Mona Lisa was typical - she never appreciates the real thing. I missed George, of course, but there was enough Watts and Higgins to make up for his absence. And I always like seeing Murdoch and Brackenreid out in the field together. But they never did catch the murderer or pin down the real Mona Lisa. Apparently the artist wasn't any better at identifying the real painting than the police were. That was a interesting depiction of Emily Carr. @cardigirl, Once the episode has aired in Canada you don't have to use spoilers.
  6. 0/5 for me this week. I'll be bringing some cake doughnuts, rolled in cinnamon and sugar as soon as they come out of the fryer.
  7. Another example: Soft Cell's version of Tainted Love (written by a member of the Four Preps) has totally eclipsed Gloria Jones's 1964 version which is also very good.
  8. Yes! I said the same thing. Chinatown was my only ts. Re FJ, for reasons unknown I went with French mal de mer instead of Latin so ended up with malady. I am 0/4 for FJs this week. Tonight is my last hope.
  9. Only three ts's for me last night: Dorothy Sayers, ether and Miller. I said Water Lilies for FJ although I did also think of Van Gogh. Unfortunately, I don't know titles of his paintings except for Starry Night. And now I know Irises.
  10. "Tear" and "glands" were both in the clue, so probably not acceptable.
  11. Finally got to watch this. Yes, Luke without his powers is not so interesting and is also a little mopey. What a sad and creepy little song that was about Happy Dan, the pony. Then, the last time, it was Happy Dan the little boy. I don't know what the ten year old boy who died of scarlet fever has to do with a 6'10" serial killer. They really didn't fill in any blanks on that story. Susan, step back from the house! You know it isn't going to end well when the smart house thing knows your name already.
  12. For those of us in Canada, Season 2 is being shown on CTV Drama on Sunday night. It started Oct. 1 so I've already missed 2 episodes but I just saw a promo for it last night.
  13. It was an okay game for me; I got the ts's or missed DDs of Buddy Holly, mint, Benedictine, Concentration, Artful Dodger, pillar and Rice. I did not get FJ and probably wouldn't have got Eliot if I thought until the cows came home. I said Agatha Christie just for something to say, knowing full well she was not like the others.
  14. Nooo! I love Dan. I was pretty sure he was undercover but was glad to find out it wasn't just wishful thinking. I liked this episode best of the series. And will be sure to watch Season 3 (if there is one) to find out what really happened to Professor T's father. eta: Season 3 is a wrap. Professor T Season 3
  15. The only lyrics were "77 Sunset Strip" plus a lot of doo doo's
  16. I missed that somehow. Oh, well, one less ts for me.
  17. They don't have enough 4 game and up winners for ToC so they are having this tourney to get another person. I don't know why these people in particular were chosen to get another chance. It was a decent enough game for me; I got the ts's or possibly missed DDs of 77 Sunset Strip, Red River (that was a clue about it forming most of the border between Minnesota and North Dakota just a few weeks ago), New Brunswick, Sevastopol, and pommel. However I did not get FJ, being another one who went with Chopin.
  18. Another not so great game for me. Only two ts's, Baal and Siberian tiger. I said Greenland for FJ and was pleased that I was at least in the right ball park, even if still out in left field.
  19. A solid episode to start the season. Charlie's longer hair looks good on him. I thought at first that Rex was jealous of the whales getting credit for finding the kidnappers but it turned out he just loved watching them. Me too. Glad we got to see so much whale porn.
  20. An okay game for me. I didn't get any ts's but FJ was an instaget. Nobel never crossed my mind since I knew he was not an American immigrant.
  21. CTV is also re-airing the show on Wednesday at 9 pm Eastern Time. I might rewatch at least some of the episodes.
  22. I did too! When Ken gave the answer of dead heat I smacked my head, but not too hard - don't want to damage any brain cells. Only two ts's again, applique and chevron. FJ was an instaget and I was pretty sure it was right. But I did think too of Gray of Gray's Anatomy but thought that he was much later, which he was.
  23. Not a particularly impressive game for me or the contestants. My only ts's were Hamlet and wrestling. The contestants just didn't seem to understand the FJ clue, giving the people they thought were honoured instead of the presidents who honoured them. I didn't get FJ but at least I knew what they were going for. I came up with LBJ and Teddy Roosevelt, even though I knew the math was wrong. I was thinking of assassinations rather than natural deaths like FDR's. And I totally forgot about the April part.
