  1. A decent game for me although my only ts's were use yews, and Get Smart. Said Cleveland Rocks instead of The Drew Carey Show - they might have given it to me😄 Instaget FJ. I liked it better as a short story than a novel and I don't think I've ever seen the movie Charly, but I do know Cliff Robertson won an Oscar for playing Charly.
  2. Yep, they got along for years with just one host.
  3. It was a good guess. Wrong, but a good guess.
  4. I missed the game on tv so checked JBoard for FJ and I did get it in good time. Later on perhaps I'll go through the archive for the rest of the game.
  5. 3/5 for me, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Happy Holidays to everyone!
  6. Wasn't it always on Tuesday before this season? Although I would often find the new episode on a Sunday night too, after the original Tuesday showing. Anyhow, Wednesday felt odd to me. Such a shame we have to wait so long for new episodes.
  7. 1/5 - again. I hope I soon get out of this slump.
  8. Another okay game for me. I got the ts's or missed DDs of Michigan, life guard, Pennsylvania, and staff of life. I am not too familiar with the various American airlines, other than knowing Delta is one of the oldest. I really couldn't come up with any others so said Northwest - so close yet so far from correct.
  9. It was icky, by today's standards and 1950's standards and the standards of any time. Leslie Caron was 26 when she filmed the movie but Gigi was only 15/16.
  10. An okay game for me although I got only one ts, Andromeda, and the missed DD of smallpox. Oliver was an instaget and I can't say I had any second thoughts about it. I never would have thought of Gigi although I'm sure I saw it many years ago. At that time every Saturday afternoon was spent at the movies, a quarter for the movie and I would also get ten cents for a snack. Pretty good living at that age🙂
  11. I enjoyed this competition more than most of the competitions they've had on the show. Congrats to the winner but I hoped Mike would win and was disappointed when he was chopped. I thought his perfect cooking of the tenderloin, when the other two overcooked theirs, should have outweighed any over-reduced sauce.
  12. 2/5 for me too. 0* if there were any.
  13. Luke wasn't the only one sniffling there at the end. I'm glad Megan called him. Has she even been in the show this season? I don't remember seeing her. This was definitely a good episode and I hope it isn't the last even if it did seem more like a series finale than a season finale. I sure do hope they get a Season 3 and everybody can come back from Rome/school/whatever.
  14. I knew it was an artificial language they were going for in FJ almost right away but it took until the last second for me to pull Esperanto out of my brain.
  15. Exactly! It makes you wonder if the writers didn't see the plothole or just didn't care, probably figuring the audience wouldn't notice. Aside from that, I enjoyed this episode very much. Even Blue didn't annoy this time.
  16. I just watched the season finale. I really enjoyed it and the whole season, probably even more than Season One. I keep googling for info on Season Three but so far have found nothing.
  17. Yeah, she was a bit much. Another okay game for me. I got the ts's or missed DDs of ringlets, Death, banding, and sixty. Instaget FJ. When they are that easy/obvious I always look around for something else but there just wasn't anything, so GWTW was it.
  18. A little brandy in French onion soup does wonders for it.
  19. I was thinking West coast too and also said Pacific Ocean. Plus, "vast" seems to suit an ocean better than a lake no matter how big. But I guess to the Goshute the Great Salt Lake appeared vast.
  20. 1/5 again; that's 3 weeks in a row - kinda depressing. And, of course, 0*.
  21. It was nice seeing Luke using his newly restored powers to help a dead girl move on. I do like Lomax. She fits in so well and adds to the show. I hope she stays after Susan gets back. Supposing there is a third season, that is. The main case was good and had more depth than most of the cotws do. I vote for that being the real Susan. She looked pretty determined when she brought out the blazing finger. I doubt the house stood a chance against her anger.
  22. It was a pretty good game for me. I got the ts's or missed DDs of John Barleycorn, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, busybody, Minnie Pearl, and cloche (which was not hard, Ken). Instaget FJ for me, my first of the week so no doughnuts. Maybe breadsticks again - we'll find out tonight.
  23. Season 17, Episode 9 - The Christmas List November 27, 2023 Another of those episodes that doesn't leave much to say about it. For a Christmas episode it was a little flat, especially if you compare it to their first Christmas special some years ago. It was good to see George and Effie together at Christmas but I thought they were a little mean to her mother. And I loved seeing Higgins realize that maybe he wasn't all that nice a person and trying to make up for it. Let's hope the lesson sticks. Otherwise, the mystery was okay and the orphanage was saved so it was all good. Re the secret Santa, was it Murdoch who got Miss Hart's name? What did he get her?
  24. An okay game for me. I got the ts's or missed DDs of cubic meter, Nureyev, rudder, Grant, and green room. FJ could have been just about anything. Bayeux Tapestry did occur to me too but I was pretty sure it isn't even in England now. Then I figured it had to be a piece of land somewhere but I just couldn't come up with anything. Looks like a bunch of us are 0/3 so far. We still have tonight and tomorrow night but, in the meantime, I'll be looking around for some interesting and tasty donuts.
  25. 1/5 0* Thank you, Old Blue Eyes!
