  1. I'm excited for this! But I'm into Wanda/Vision as a couple. I'm intrigued that it takes place after Endgame and not before. Guess the title is a spoiler to Vision coming back?
  2. I suppose the intention is to make something similar to The Man in High Castle (where the Nazis won WW2 and took over the US with the Japanese)?
  3. I know BlueBell was the point of the show, but i kinda wished we had seen an episode in NYC. We never got to see Zoe in her natural habitat! Not to mention it would have been hilarious to see someone like Wade somewhere like New York.
  4. Daredevil, the famously blind superhero, was played by an actor who could see (Charlie Cox) for 3 seasons. Matt was also blind in flashbacks, though I don't know if the actor they cast to play kid!Matt is blind irl.
  5. Has anyone seen the Hulu doc on Fyre? I have netflix but not hulu and was curious how they stack up against each other. I believe the hulu version has interviews with Billy himself? And is more about him? From what I've read, Billy doesn't do much but try spin it more. But the netflix one isn't that much less shady, given that Jerry media, the company that handled the Fyre festival marketing helped create their doc.
  6. He was so cute in Dunkirk. I couldn't see his face for half the movie, then he pulled off the pilot's mask and was the cutest boi. Took me out of the film a bit tbh lol
  7. Has anyone seen Taylor's Netflix special? They just filmed one of her concerts on her tour I think. For all of us who can't or won't buy tickets to one of her concerts lol
  8. After reading some predictions of Black Panther winning Best Picture at the Oscars this year (which I doubt will happen) in the awards thread, I have agree with the previous posts saying that BP was not that good. Don't get me wrong, it was a highly enjoyable film that I saw twice but I don't agree that it's some cinematic masterpiece.
  9. I saw this on DVD and thought it was pretty fun! I mean, not a masterpiece but still fun. The younger actors were all good, Lily James especially. I too wondered why they didn't get one of Stellan Skarsgard's kids to play him since they all seem to be in the biz. But Josh Dylan actually really resembled SS. I might have thought he was related to him! The plot was a lot of fluff but that was okay. The Sam and Donna confrontation when she finds out he's engaged to someone else was surprisingly emotional. I'll chalk that up to the actors. But Meryl swooped in at the end to make me cry with My Love, My Life. I read a comment that made a fun point that I hadn't noticed: Sam is the only one that Donna sang a song to, instead of him singing one to her (with her joining in). Nice way to show Sam was the one she really fell for.
  10. This interview with Patrick Wilson has a great clip from the film at the beginning!
  11. I've had a crush on Rami Malek since Night at the Museum
  12. The difference can basically be summed up in this story about Dustin Hoffman, a method actor:
  13. Oh my sweet summer child...don't go on tumblr. or read the comments on any videos. Gerald Butler with his "deformity" that was basically a first degree burn in the 2004 movie made it worse, I think.
  14. I was today years old when I found out that Nikki Haley was Indian. I honestly didn't know!
  15. I really liked Arvin and their relationship was intriguing, but I agree that Dylan makes more sense for Haley. Arvin is pretty out of her league intellectually, and they never really developed their relationship much to justify why he was interested in her. Given Arvin's past comment on the Dunphy's emotional intelligence, they could have played up Haley's street smarts as compared to Arvin's, well, book smarts. Or, they could had Haley develop a surprising interest in astronomy (that she never knew about because she had always dismissed science as "boring") after their first date with the telescope and had that develop as something in common. Also yea, Andy was Haley's best love interest imo.
  16. I read an interesting comment that wondered if Snape might have treated Harry differently if he had instead mostly resembled Lily but had James's eyes (hazel, if you're wondering).
  17. I totally forgot about this SNL skit that is ABSOLUTELY making fun of Ian Somerhalder.
  18. Lin Manuel Miranda did work on the most recent WSS revival in 2009, translating some lyrics to spanish. That production cast a South American actress to play Maria, which could be good idea (or an actress from PR). No need to fake an accent at least.
  19. I like Ansel Elgort, and hopefully he can sing well enough (Maria is one of my fave songs from the show and Something's Coming does require some talent to pull off) but I thought Tony was ethnically Polish/eastern european? I feel like that was mentioned in passing at some point. Not that I'm an expert on what europeans are supposed to look like. I know Elgort has released some music? I know I've seen it on his insta. Camilla Cabello is fine as a singer, but can she act? Can't they just pluck someone from the stage?
  20. I've seen the 1955 version with Judy Garland and I wasn't very interested in this one, but it is getting good reviews so I'm curious. Judy Garland famously lost the Oscar to Grace Kelly for this role...I don't know how to feel if Gaga managed to snag it (and she would be the first to win an Oscar for the role since Judy and Janet Gaynor both lost and Barbra Streisand wasn't nominated).
