  1. I loved Lily James in Cinderella! She and Richard Madden were so sweet and believable as a couple. I still revisit the film occasionally.
  2. YYAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSS And don't forget:
  3. I didn't really realize that the first Ant Man took place in San Francisco (should have noticed when we saw the cable car), but you can't miss it in this one. I liked how they used the city in the set pieces (those unique roads, the pier, etc.) There are other cities in the world other than NY, MCU! But I'm a west coaster so I'm biased lol
  4. I saw the new Ant-man film yesterday, and I remembered that Paul Rudd is 10 years older than his love interest, Evangeline Lily. Of course, Paul Rudd is an ageless vampire so the difference really isn't that noticeable.
  5. Good Behavior! A modern Bonnie and Clyde of sorts starring Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary!) as a former addict and petty thief fresh out of prison who ends up entangled with a hitman. If there's any show that lives or dies on its leads, it's this one. And man it does -- I've seen a lot of shows promising dark and sexy and this is one the few shows that actually delivers. Making a hitman lovable is a feat, but this show manages it. He's more likable than her at times. You have to suspend disbelief for some of the crimes, but the leads are so engrossing it's fairly easy to do (at least for me).
  6. I just found out a fun tidbit: the Asguardian distress call at the beginning of the film was done by Kenneth Branaugh! How depressingly full circle for the Thor trilogy!
  7. I watched Set it Up over the weekend, and really liked it. Really great. And then I saw a Chris Evans rom com called Playing it Cool on netflix which I was more mixed about. He's a cynic who doesn't believe in love until he meets Michelle Monaghan...who has a boyfriend played by Ioan Gruffudd. He goes after her anyway and eventually they hook up, all while she's with Ioan Gruffudd and even gets engaged to him. Neither of their characters have names (on imdb they're listed as 'me' and 'her') and neither does Gruffudd who Me labels 'Stuffy.' Did I mention Me is a screenwriter trying to write a rom com (his agent is coincidentally played by Anthony Mackie)? It's very meta, trying to call out rom com tropes (via a greek chorus of sorts including Topher Grace and Aubrey Plaza) while engaging in them. It even acknowledges that the leads are both terrible people. It's also from the guy's POV, we get absolutely nothing about Her other than what we see with Me. I'm still not sure whether I liked it.
  8. Nothing wrong with that! I was rewatching Friends recently, and most of Rachel and Monica's outfits have come back into style. Can't say as much for Phoebe's haha.
  9. Actually the Russos confirmed that it was Peter's spidey sense that made his death so long -- he was aware something was wrong well before the others were. From the article:
  10. Not sure why, but the part with magic tricks was one of my favorite parts of the show. Too cute! Also, I love the attention to detail on Harry Potter (Jamie Parker) having the scars from his detention with Umbridge in the 5th book on his hand.
  11. I love the Chrises as much as anyone, but Richard Armitage is hot AF. I doubt she would have been happy with Damien Lewis either, who was originally supposed to be Claude. Richard Armitage was so nice about it!
  12. I was skeptical about watching it, and figured I'd stay if the DJ in question was hot enough. And then Richard Madden came onscreen and needless to say I had to finish it! I was surprised that his character was kinda dorky and neurotic like Gillian Jacobs's character. Thought he would be the aloof heartthrob.
  13. Aww I just watched this and was so excited with Ted and Alexis at the end! I legit gasped so loudly when Ted sat across from her in the musical chairs. Ted's been a sweetie since season 1, and I felt so bad for him then but figured that Mutt was gonna be Alexis's OTP. Imagine my surprise when the opposite happened! Mutt fell by the wayside and Ted stayed in the picture! Thank god too, the "bad boy" winning the love triangle is so cliche at this point.
  14. OMG i didn't even think of Andrew Garfield but as soon as you said it I just immediately pictured him as Anthony Perkins.
  15. I read that before Leto, they actually sought out Ryan Gosling to play the Joker. I think one of the reasons he didn't want to sign on was because he balked at the multiple film contract, but I wonder what it would have been like? I mean after the mess SS turned out to be, he dodged a bullet but he did channel a similar-ish character for laughs in an SNL skit.
  16. Infinity War is getting a 30 day extension in the China, which should help it cross 2 billion.
  17. I recently discovered Barbra Streisand's album of duets of famous Broadway tunes with famous people, Encore. Some are random (Jaime Foxx singing Climb Ev'ry Mountain) and others less so (Patrick Wilson singing Loving You). There's even a cute BTS video for each track on youtube. I'm not articulate enough to review every track (I'll leave that kind of thing to you guys haha!) but I am fond of At the Ballet with Daisy Ridley (!) and Anne Hathaway.
  18. Off topic, but gawd hearing the media constantly talking about how Timothee Chalamet as "one of the the youngest ever oscar nominees" at 22 (which was well deserved and true) while pretty much only mentioning Saoirse Ronan (3-time oscar nomineee at 23)'s funny name all awards season was soo annoying. They even did it when interviewing both at the same time! But yes, Timothee Chalamet totally deserved to win, even though everyone knew it wasn't going to happen. I'm still not sure whether Armie Hammer deserved a nom. He wasn't as obviously incredible as Chalamet, but he did do a good job.
  19. I'm personally not a Stucky shipper and tbh I don't mind the ship, but the shippers can be so annoying (and I'm not even on tumblr or twitter) that it actively turned me off it. I'm not proud of it, but sometimes I actively root against it just out of annoyance. I think there was a great opportunity to add asian representation with Iron Fist, but since Danny is canonically white it wasn't too big a deal imo. I really do wish they had cast an asian actress to play the Ancient One, though. It would have been perfect. Tilda Swinton did do a good job, but it would have been nice.
  20. Well yea, I know haha. I just never noticed that the MCU had set him up as an existing character in films leading up to his role in CA:WS.
  21. I never noticed that Jasper Sitwell is in The Avengers. He only has a few lines reporting some technobabble to Nick Fury on the helicarrier, but I appreciate the continuity. ETA: He also appears with a few lines in the first Thor movie. Details!
  22. I interpreted the scene with the soul stone as it using what the individual (Thanos) considers love. For Thanos, his feelings toward Gamora were loving. Since he is the one to wield it, the stone used Thanos's personal scale to determine the validity of his sacrifice. But I don't read the comics. And as he is the "bad guy," I can't imagine kids would see his abuse in a positive light. Me too. The scene in the soul stone where she asks him "what did it cost?" was eerie and poignant.
