In the Season 10 premiere, Danny and Baez grapple with a year-old homicide investigation brought to their attention by Maggie, the medium who previously helped them solve a case. Also, Frank looks for a way to help his ex-partner Lenny Ross when his daughter is arrested; Jamie and Eddie go apartment hunting; and Erin faces off against a cold-blooded defense attorney from her past.

If I wanted to watch Medium, I'd watch Medium.  So, Danny's story was a bust for me.  And, seeing as how that psychic is probably going to be his new love interest, I think I'll be not paying much attention to his stories from now on.

I'm a bit confused about what was going on with Jamie and Eddie.  He was getting flak for her being in his precinct, but she's going to stay in the same precinct but work nights?  Is there a different sergeant at night?  I honestly don't know how that works.  If so, I guess that makes sense.  Seems it would make more sense to move to a different precinct, but what do I know?

Anthony gave his daughter some darn good advice.  I hate to say it, but I wasn't that sympathetic with the victim. She was making some bad life choices.  Not that that makes anything the guy was doing OK.

Not sure why Frank was so sure Carrie, or whatever her name was, wasn't his old partner's daughter.  Especially since it turned out her sister was.  But, nice to know that you can just transfer your love for one person to another because DNA.  This is also why you don't have sex with someone and then immediately lose track of them.  Unless you don't care about having kids running around that you know nothing about.

That whole fight set up thing was stupid.  But, I agree with Jamie and Erin on the cop cams.  They're for their protection also.

Yes.  There's a sergeant on duty for every shift.  I'm guessing Jamie and Eddie having different work schedules is going to be the source of their conflict and stories this season.

I can't stand the psychic so I hope this is the last of her, but it probably won't be.  The show needs another character like it needs another commercial break.  🙄

What a tedious episode.

Erin turned into a bad-ass.

I don't know what to say about Frank, he really played wimpy.

Garrett looks like death. (Frank called him slim)

Danny is still Danny, but he'll probably become Medium Danny.

The shootout/stabbing scene was really forced and unrealistic.

Where did they get that defense attorney?

The newlyweds have chosen two different shifts in the same pct. How long before that comes back to haunt them?

Does Treat Williams ever get a role that doesn't have some drama attached (i.e. Benny Severide).

Thanks.  I couldn't make that out.  I thought he called him, son, but that made no sense.  Then I was trying to remember his first name, and couldn't.  Or is Garrett is first name and I was trying to remember his last name?  I don't even care.

the wedding should have been the 200th episode. Not this. It was...ok but I was done feeling the same way like I did for the 100th “that’s it?”

Either the medium or the ME is going to be his  future love interest. They’re still better options than his real life wife who I constantly want to smack.

YAY! New episodes! While not one of my favorite episodes, there were several moments that made it good for me.

1. Maria looking out for Danny and their case by telling Maggie to back off on both.

2. Frank and Henry’s talk, with Frank saying, “Pop, I don’t know what to do.” We don’t often (ever?) see Frank feeling vulnerable and I thought it was a nice scene.

3. I am a huge Jamie+Eddie fan. Period. Full stop. And seeing their first look at their new apartment and Jamie carrying Eddie over the threshold made me smile.

All in all, I’m thrilled this show is back and I’m happily looking forward to the rest of the season!

This was all really good.  Maria seemed very territorial.  I got the feeling that they are setting up a Maria and Danny arc.

I thought Eddie looked gorgeous.

Boo on Erin's pink suit.  WTF was that?  No serious prosecutor would wear that.  I thought it was odd that Erin just happened to be at a suspect's apartment as he was assaulting his girlfriend.  Since when is she a beat cop with a service weapon?

If last night's episode is any indication of how the rest of the season will play out, I predict this will be the last season of Blue Bloods.   That makes me sad because the show used to be really good and I looked forward to new episodes while watching reruns over and over again.  I was hoping they would open the season with Jamie and Edie's wedding reception since they cut that short last season.  I'm still really mad about it.

I thought the episode was meh. I was happy to see both Jack and Sean at Sunday dinner though and really, really happy that there were no Nikki scenes.

Since when do the police work a steady shift?   They always rotated three shifts 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am and 12am-8am.   I was surprised when Edie was offered the midnight shift.  I didn't know they did that since working straight nights is so unhealthy.

It wasn't a service weapon, it was her personal gun and she's pulled it out before.   During that scene I thought Bridget was a more believable cop than Vanessa Ray or Marisa Ramirez.

I don't like Eddie, but her non-uniform clothes have been really cute since she and Jamie became a couple.

I remember how much I loved Treat Williams on Everwood. Of course he had a lot of drama on that show, but his character seemed more pleasant on that show than his character here or Benny Severide who seem smarmy to me.

I probably missed the explanation, but why were Jamie and Eddie looking for a new apartment?

I liked the harsh attorney - of course she had to eat humble pie in the end because her last name's not Reagan. But I would like to see her again.

I also don't mind the medium as a love interest for Danny. Callie Thorne is the same age as Wahlberg and I would prefer that to the usual tv pairing of middle aged guy and hot young woman. Baez suddenly falling for Danny would just be another over-used trope.

Best part of the episode was Jaimie seeing through Dad and Grandpa's charade. Kinda embarrassing for the DA and Detective present at that table but what else is new?

We've (OK, I've) always known Jamie is the smartest and most level-headed.

The ratings were down double digits compared to last season (then again, virtually all of broadcast TV is) but the bigger issue is that Tom Selleck said in an interview with Deadline that he WANTED to sign on for 2 more years.  CBS said one.  With aging shows where salaries go up and ratings go down (even with DVR play back factored in) I think CBS are going to start finding reasons to cancel even solid performers and I'm concerned this is one of them.

It's beyond absurd that they had a medium as a character ONCE, let alone making her a regular character. It truly boggles my mind when I see her continue to pop up. I actively enjoy Callie Thorne as an actress, but holy shit, people, Danny Reagan working regularly with a medium? It's beyond the pale. How could anyone think that this was a good idea?

Makes sense. I mean Anthony is basically Extra Large Danny...

I liked this as well for a couple reasons. One is that it's always nice when they give Len Cariou something to do. Another is it was about the only thing in this episode that was actually different and not a repeat of something they have already done to death.

She's a Reagan - they can't go anywhere without stumbling across a felony.

Since 1990 in NYC for uniformed officers.

Detectives and other specialists still work rotations/"on call".

Actually I thought that was realistic and in character. Danny is so reactionary (in all senses of the word) when it comes to police and accountability and Erin has always been shown as responding to him more emotionally than intellectually. As far as best part of the episode - there's not a lot of competition, but I still think Frank and Henry's conversation and Anthony were better.

That actually makes sense.  As someone who used to works nights AND days, I think it's much better having the same (or similar) shifts all the time.  It's much less exhausting on your clock.  And if Jamie is sleeping while Eddie is working and vice versa, then they should both be up for most of their common off shift.

Random thoughts for this season. It looks like no new ground for this year which is not all bad.

1. Jamko storyline was decent. Making Eddie work a different shift was good. Testing their honesty was very good and Jamie stepped up.

2. Nice seeing Erin in some colorful clothes. ADA's don't have to dress dull and drab.

3. Danny and Maggie I could care less if they do hook up or not.

4. Typical Frank storyline. Did love the "slim" reference.

5. Anthony is easily my favorite character in the show.

I'll continue to watch out of habit but my level of expectation for this season is very low.

I can't believe I'm just noticing it now, but Jamie looks a little like Henry. I could believe that the two of them are related.

Back in the early days of this series, a Reagan couldn't go anywhere without committing a felony. *cough-Danny!-cough* But Donnie-Don turned 50 this year and he can't beat up the bad guys like he used to... all in the name of making an arrest, doncha know.

Still not digging Jamie and Eddie as a couple.  She was way too quick to want to grab the freebies associated with his status.  Jamie has class.

Well her dad is a crook and for all her resentment towards him, I always thought it odd that she kept that fancy sports car he bought her for high school graduation, even after she found out he stole plenty of people’s life savings. I figured she would sell it and donate the money to charity. Also didn’t she lie or omit something on her application to the department to hide her connection to her dad?

Graveyard worker here - agreed on both points. Switching back and forth constantly is the real hell, and overnighters get to choose whether to sleep mornings or evenings.

In a recent episode, he gently pushed aside a bystander during a chase. He's mellowing in his old age.

Absolutely! I noticed that in this episode as well. Something about their mouths.

And yes, I see Jamie as becoming PC as well. He thinks long-term.
