The Hosts Thread: Joe and Mika Know Their Value

I personally have no problem with Joe's prior actions being brought to light.  He does this all the time to other folks.  He should be held to the same standard.  The joke was horrific.  A young woman was murdered and he feels comfortable joking about it.  That shows a lack of character, or more rightly a rotten one.  Regardless of Imus' skills at getting people to follow him down his rabbit hole of horribleness, Joe should have been more sensitive to the feelings of her family and friends.  He has shown himself to be a pompous blowhard with little disregard for others on multiple occasions.  Clearly he was joking, but the it was just a joke excuse gets bandied about too often when people do really terrible things.  Being a "joke" does not remove the damage of his words and actions.

If we see that he later sincerely apologized and attempted to right his actions, I would give him some leeway.  However, Joe's strong suit is not apologizing when he's a shitheel.  He is much more likely to double down and pretend he is the harmed party.

Great Post PrincessPurrsALot!

Irregardless of what Imus said, since Lori worked for him, wouldn't he be more sensitive to her death?  Isn't Joe always hyping his extraordinary skills at being a savvy politician back in the day? He always knows the right thing to do and say. Yeah right.

He had no problem showing his outrage at Markos Moulitsas when he made the comment about Lori's death being fishy, and got Markos banned from the network.

"How Dare You???" is his & Mika's refrain whenever it's brought up, but it's okay for him to joke about actually having sex with her, and then killing her. Because that is SO hilarious.

Look you guys, Mika has KYV hand washing tips!

OMG! How can those fools post this shit like it's some kind of new, breaking news? Honestly, who in this country, this WORLD ffs, hasn't heard these tips about a billion times over the last 3 months? What a joke. As I mentioned before, her irrelevance is showing. (While I'm at it, that picture...that smurf haired shampoo-ist needs to tie that hair back; I get the heebie jeebies imagining that mass hanging over me while my head's in the sink.)

I have a question.

Mika, the 20 or so people still watching Morning Blech for 5  minutes until we can't take it any longer would like to Know YOUR Value.  What exactly do you bring to working women, your tv show, and just life in general?

Please, figure out what YOUR value is.  The rest of us know what OUR value is.

I think Meeka has no idea what Her Value is; she is constantly trying to figure it out.  What we watch every morning is an attractive, approaching-middle-age-woman (actually, I don't know what qualifies as middle-aged anymore) who seems to be in full-fledged crisis mode, even though she probably doesn't know it.

She grew up in an educated, moneyed, competitive family who maybe was made to feel like the odd-man-out.  That's just my armchair analysis.  Now that Social Distancing is in place she has nowhere to go.  No seminars, appearances, "connecting" with her fans.  Every time she goes into Serious Reporter mode she fails.  Publicly, which has to hurt if she reads comments.

Trouble is, she is trying to fix herself on national tv everyday.  Maybe marrying her co-host was not a good idea; she is now dependent on another person for Her Value...money, prestige (yes, I know), her job.

Just my two cents; and I'm probably wrong.

I would say technically 50 is middle aged,  I don't know how we label age any more.

But get this.  The Golden Girls characters were IN THEIR 50s!!! What the fuck!!   That is what 50 was in the 70s!!  Nowadays that would be mid 70s.

You should read Mika's first book, "All things at Once".

She explains the issues she had growing up & her career struggles when she reached 40.

I think Mika took the day off as a result of the positive article on her arch rival

Stephanie Ruhle.

Mika is on Twitter today trying to get Jack to shut down the president's account.  She has been re-tweeted thousands of times as the "Karen" of Twitter, trying to speak to the manager.

Of course, Mika will just plead ignorance of the "Karen" meme.  That is for low class people.

She is such a strident and entitled asshole. She doesn't get to tell people what they can read or write.

Sometimes I feel sorry for her because she obviously has self esteem problems.  But when she wants to tell the world what they can read on Twitter she can just fuck off.

There are 3 or 4 more tweets in the last 15 minutes. She needs her meds/cake supply refilled or Joe needs to break down the bathroom door  and take her phone.

I can hear her yelling at him "Joe, who is Karen?"

Somebody said why don't you sleep with Jack, that's a good way to get him to do what you want.

Karen why don't you take a walk down to BeBop's house and calm the fuck down.  Have Bobo show you how to carve something nice out of one of those trees piled up in the garage.

She and Joe see anyone else getting attention as a personal affront.  It's a zero sum game. If someone else gets good press, they aren't.  Unless it's manufactured KYV bs abt the minions.

Why did MSNBC allow Stephanie Ruhle to get more positive press than Mika & Joe ?

Mika & Joe are the most widely respected pundits on cable tv and are trending on twitter.

Looks like Karen got thru to the manager.

First rule of dealing with toddlers. Don't reward bad behavior or temper tantrums.

Guess Joe still has enough juice at MSNBC that their General Counsel (unless it's Twitter's) is going to talk to Karen.

Why can't Joe fight his own battles?

Joe has described himself as a simple country lawyer. He doesn't have the legal knowledge to fight back.

Mika usually defends him when he gets attacked.

I remember when she called the late Roger Ailes to beg him not to allow the National Enquirer & NY Post to publish details of her affair with Joe in early 2017. Mika was worried their children finding out about the affair. Ailes agreed & Joe gave the NY Post a scoop about Alec Baldwin's show being cancelled.

I think the problem with Mika bringing up President Trump's tweets about Joe is that people on twitter keep asking questions about the medical examiner that performed the autopsy on Lori. It's like stirring up a hornet's nest.

I doubt Joe killed Lori.

If Joe had resigned in May 2001, why did he still have a Congressional office in FL? And people working for him?

Wasn't that the deal? She was found in his Congressional office in FL?  Why would he need staff if he wasn't in Congress?

The resignation took effect on September 6, 2001. He announced his desire to leave office in May .

I don't know if Mika is going about it right, but I'm sympathetic to her efforts.

We know that individuals have planned violent actions in response to tweets from the president. Most notably Pizzagate and the Florida Bomber. So I don't think this is self indulgent at all. She has a right to feel anxious and, unfortunately for them, I don't think there is a clear remedy.

Some people are questioning Joe's alibi on the day that Lori's body was discovered. This is so sad. It's possible that Joe didn't have to attend the meeting with his constituents.

I was surprised that the NBC Evening News didn't do a story on Mika's fight with Twitter. Don't they realize how powerful Mika & Joe are ?

I have to wonder if these two are doing this to try and drum up ratings?  Nothing like a long-ago possible scandal; whispered cover-up.  Then get the President to tweet something about it; then you tweet back; he tweets something even worse; then you tweet back.  After awhile it was yawn-inducing so things MUST be amped up.  Yes.  Let's get the CEO of Twitter involved...let's make news!  Lots of publicity for Show.  Winning.  The loser?  MSNBC.

The Press Secretary for President Trump confirmed that he is taking Hydroxycholoroquine.

Doesn't she realize that Joe had one meal with Trump after being friends with him for 12 years & could tell that Trump wouldn't take the pills because he used wipes at the meal.

I expect Joe to do a full 3 hour rant tomorrow.

And not to defend the Gold Dust Twins or that awful joke, but the pain the family is facing now is exponentially worse than the joke, with all the online crazies that will be going after them.  That wasn't so prevalent back in the day.

Joe has demanded that Google & You Tube take down any clips of him showing his past predictions or comments on politics which conflict with his most recent views.

It's very sad what happened to Lori. There was an article written at the time of her death about how stressed out she was because Joe resigned from Congress 5 months into his mandate & she was worried about losing her job.  Her obituary was very detailed but did not mention her working for Joe.

So Joe and Mika are whining about others talking about that poor intern's death, and saying it's causing the family pain?    What about when Joe was laughing about it with Imus?

Exactly!  Joe needs to take responsibility for his own asshat behavior.

Also, they are both asshats for banging each other while married to other people. They should have realized they were never going to look good after the affair situation became knowledge.  They keep trying to clean up their past by acting like they've been wronged.

Mika's ex-husband and Joe's ex-wife must be entertained by this shitshow.

Entertained..or exhausted, and heartbroken. YMMV. Not seen any evidence J & M aren't heartbroken either...all their public comments are centred towards shielding the libelled family at the center of the consipracy... that's exactly the right focus...in my opinion of course.

Mika & Joe were able to convince their spouses to sign NDA's.

Mika did say on air that she knew that her ex husband wouldn't speak to the media about their divorce.

Joe Joes,

Let's watch the back and forth between individual posters.  We are expressing opinions about people on a TV show.  If you disagree, do so politely.  No one owes anyone receipts for their opinion.  If you want a one-on-one dialog with another poster, you can PM them and they can choose to engage or not.

Don't make us send you to the Florida bunker without cake and hair gel.

The White House Press Secretary , Kayleigh Mcenay , was just asked by a reporter if President Trump will ask the Department of Justice to re open the investigation into the death of Lori 's death.

She replied by telling everyone to look at the video of Joe Scarborough joking about having sex with Lori & killing her on the Don Imus show. She said that it was callous of Joe to joke about that.

Mika & Joe will be upset with her for revealing that information.

Joe decided to respect Lori's husband desire for privacy by writing an article in the Washington Post about her

It just never ends with him..."Let me just take one more swing at her and then I promise I'm done with the self-aggrandizing..." He should be ashamed; but, then, he and his Karen have no shame. They disgust me.

WaPo editorial AND music video!! McCartney should sue his ass. Im pretty sure you have to get permission to use someone else's music in tv or film.

Joe discussed meeting McCartney on his show a few years ago. He was in awe of him & stumbled to talk to him. McCartney was friendly with Joe.

Joe said he was inspired by McCartney 's music & gave Paul a CD of his own music.

Joe hoped to work on music together with Paul McCartney in the future.
