Kemper November 9, 2017 Share November 9, 2017 I haven't watched this week...depended on these recaps. But. I have to admit that I MUST see this tomorrow. Must. All that seems to be missing is a clown car. And I can't stand Victoria, so I have to admire the writers for making her a bitch..seems right for the character. Nikki getting stabbed in the arm! lol It all sounds a bit like slap stick. So bad that it is almost good. I think this show would be better if they recast most of the male leads. Cane especially. Keep Jack and Victor. Can't believe I typed that but as much as I can't stand Victor, he is a soap icon. They should have done something back when they had Tucker (Stephen Nichols) come on as Kay's long-lost son. He would have been a wonderful, older leading man. But then Victor returned from wherever the actor had gone off to and we were back to Victor as usual. 9 Link to comment

Big Blue Plate November 10, 2017 Share November 10, 2017 (edited) No... no..... Peaches... wasn't you. I just could not believe show has a nearly eighty year old woman running around slashing people with a table knife, because I thought I knew the definition of stupid. So I was just clarifying that show actually did this. Show deserves to be cancelled. I'd tweet at Angelica McDrivethru but she let this happen so doubt she's smart enough to understand how stupid it i. I feel sorry for Marla Adams... so late in life she gets a shot at working, she comes back, she gets a part AND does something with it and now she's reduced to this... this will be her last part... stabbing people with a table knife. Also, too, what did it take three years to fire Jill fucken Phelps but only one to fire Sally McSnore? She might have been boring, but at least she had some class. I know Sally's ratings were crap (and JFP had decent even good ratings at the start) but all soap ratings were down in the same period as Sally's. It was a lot to do with the Trump effect -- and the fallout from the dreadful Pratt/JFP stories. The thing about the stabbing is it was silly. It was a petty moment between Dina and Nikki and it was stolen cutlery. This story should have gravitas not be comic relief. Already Dina has been wandering around town in slippers and a robe lighting matches. And now this. Her yelling at Jack a few episodes ago was well done. It was painful to watch as she berated him (I watched that clip and Marla's facial expression was amazing. She just turned cruel and cold on a dime. And Peter of course is the master of the hurt face.) There's so much to mine there. How her kids (who have such a tenuous relationship with her to begin with) react to these outbursts from their usually collected and genteel mother. Unless she was previously married and decided to continue using that name after divorce, Daddy would have had to have been only half Asian himself. I don't believe anyone of mixed Asian ethnicity would be hewing to that vestige of paternalistic so-called culture especially if one's father wasn't Asian. That said, my son married a Thai young woman who is the daughter of a prominent businessman in that country. You better bet that he expected a dowry. He wanted $15k for the privilege of selling her to her fiancé. Needless to say, the ransom wasn't paid and the marriage took place without Daddy. Women as chattel. Something to be bartered with and sold and all without the benefit of mutual approval and consent. Obviously, I have no respect for this loathsome "tradition" and it's not just isolated to the Asian culture. News of the last couple of days and weeks proves just how cavalier men have treated and continue to treat women and girls. Edited November 10, 2017 by Toomuchsoap 8 Link to comment

But she's even more clueless on 'good parenting' altogether when she let's her kid get off punishment for "just one night" because the guy whose fault it is that she is grounded has a family tragedy party to attend and needs a date. Pop Tart November 10, 2017 Share November 10, 2017 (edited) Quote To hire Sally Sussman for the sole purpose of taking show back to its roots and to character driven writing (I remember Angelica actually had a hashtag #characterdrivenwriting for Sally's arrival) only to dump her in EIGHT MONTHS for a Pratt redux but this time in super speed? Yeah, I'm back to barely watching. Can't stand that the focus seems to be shifting back to Victor as center of the universe and all Newman's under his thumb (except for Nick). Within the space of a couple days Victoria has gone from "I must be independent" to "okay I'll go back to working at Newman Enterprises", majorly shafting her sister in the process. And Noah is going to be running TOTT. And then you have Nikki at the event. Why was she there exactly? It was supposed to be for Abby and both Victor and Victoria were keeping Nikki in the dark about the true purpose, so why would she even go? She's there to support the Newman brand? And then Neil insists she has to be in the Newman photo to show support for the public? What? She's moved out of the ranch and has been gone from there for months, she's dating Jack, and now she's being put fully right back into the Newman orbit. I'm guessing that Dina stabbing Nikki will somehow set her and Jack apart and that will pave the way for her to get back with Victor (hate with the heat of a thousand burning suns). I don't like Nick, character (hate) or actor (meh), but I guess I'm slightly, mildly curious about what the plan for him is? He's the only one who isn't falling instantly back into the Newman fold and he's a core character. So he's going to be doing what? Living with Chelsea? And side note, for a grifter she sure has a winner in him, when she started dating him he was a millionaire running a business and living in his own home. Now he's unemployed, has given away most of his money and has moved himself and his daughter into her condo. Edited November 10, 2017 by Pop Tart 12 Link to comment

bannana November 10, 2017 Share November 10, 2017 It's the same day in GC, at the PR event that went bust. At the party, Drinki says, that lunatic stabbed her, and Prick says, who? And Drinki says, her mother, pointing to Ash. She says she did it to break up her and Jack. Ash cannot believe any of it. Then they realize that Dina is missing. Prick wants to call the police on her. Crystal is freaking out that she is in danger. Sharon and Scott talk about how their plans went awry. Scott tells Sharon that Zack took Abby and it did not seem voluntary. Sharon and Scott confront Tessa when they cannot find Crystal, and she finally fesses up that she helped Crystal get away because she was freaking out. Scott says he is going to go after Abby and Zack. Sharon says the police are coming because of the stabbing and they can deal with this, but he doesn't wait. Noah is now the emcee who tells everyone that the evening is over and there is no need to worry and everyone should exit in an orderly fashion. Hah! Where is the PR guy? Ash wants to know more about what happened from Drinki, but Drinki is very belligerent with her. Ash approaches Vic who is on the phone with the police and tries to prevent her from reporting it. Vic blows her off and says the police need to talk to Ash's mother as well as her daughter. WTF? That is the face that both Ash and I have when Vic throws her own sister under the bus for 100th time tonight. Ash wants to know WTF she means by that. But Neil intercedes, and tells Vic that Abby and Zack left together. Vic wants to know about Crystal, and Neil doesn't know anything. Ash wants to know about this sex trafficking ring, and Neil tries to spin his way out of it. She says that Vic is already assuming that Abby was in on it. Vic says that she just returned to Newman, but she knows that Zack was Abby's discovery, and now she has run off with him. She says they need more details before they jump to the wrong conclusion and snippily says, don't you agree? Paul arrives and starts questioning a very annoyed Drinki. Prick says they are going to press charges. Drinki says Dina is delusional. Prick and Drinki and Vic leave to go to the hospital. Ash tells Paul that Drinki must have provoked Dina, but he points out that Dina fled the scene. Ash says Drinki is going to be fine, but she cannot say the same about her daughter. Paul then questions Noah and Neil about Zack, and whether Abby went willingly. Neil and Noah are still trying to spin things and Paul says Zack is suspected of running a sex trafficking ring. Paul then reprimands Tessa and Sharon, who say they don't know where Crystal is. He wants to know why Crystal wouldn't have spoken to the cops at the safe house if she was afraid. Scott calls Paul from his car and says he is in hot pursuit. His phone breaks up and then Sharon grabs Scott's phone and tells him she loves him. Paul is going to try and track Scott's phone, while Sharon sobs and frets about Scott. So Abby actually goes willingly with Zack. But she wants to go back upstairs to clear things up. He convinces her while they are in the elevator to go with her so that he can clear things up with her. While he is racing away with Abby in his car, he tries to give her a bogus cover story about Crystal and Tessa who he admits are from his past, and who are now lying about him because he fired them for theft. She doesn't buy any of it. So he finally tells her the truth and says it isn't so bad, and no worse than the shady things her father has done. He says that he thinks that she always knew deep down, and she and Prick are just as culpable. He says it is really not so bad, it is a way for people from his background to be successful and it is legal in other countries. She doesn't buy that either and says that she knows about sex trafficking, that girls are held hostage and drugged and forced into prostitution. He says it is not like that, he is helping the girls who have no other options. She wants him to stop the car, but he just speeds up. He finally stops, and she demands to know where they are. She tries to get out of the car, and he stops her. Ash is calling Abby's phone and he takes it from her and won't let her answer. Then he tells her that they are at his storage facility and he needs to get some things because he is leaving town. Abby is upset that she fell for all of his lies. He tells her he loves her and wants her to go with him. She refuses. He takes her into the storage facility, and then once they are out of the car we see that they had a secret passenger, Dina! She clandestinely gets out of the car. Meanwhile, Scott, who has been pursuing them, shows up and tells Zack that Abby is not going anywhere. Scott tries to convince Zack to go without Abby. Zack tells Abby she has to choose and she says hell no. Zack locks the two of them in the storage facility while saying he loves her. Abby sinks into Scott's arms, sobbing. At the hospital, Prick and Vic are waiting on Drinki. Vic says he is worried about Abby. Vic says she wonders what is in Zack's mind now that Abby knows the truth. She doesn't seem overly concerned, more like annoyed at Abby for creating a problem for her as COO. Prick says the worst thing is that he thought Zack was genuine. Vic says Prick was just trying to be supportive of Abby and insists that they will handle it. Noah arrives and Prick says he is happy that he is the new Manager of TOTT. At Jabot, Ash fills Jack in on everything about the prostitution ring and stabbing and the disappearance of Abby and Dina. Jack and Ash are worried that Abby could be in big trouble, and she keeps calling her cell phone. But Zack has taken Abby's phone and won't allow her to answer it. Drinki is fine and is going to be released. Jack calls and she fills him in. He is relieved. She says some nasty stuff about Dina. Wait, Drinki, aren't you an advocate for mental health issues? Neil tells Prick they have a PR nightmare on their hands. Prick says this is not the time, Drinki was assaulted, Abby is missing. Oh, Prick, you really don't get PR, do you. Prick says it was a private party, shut it down. Neil says he did get the photog's pictures, but there will be leaks and sex trafficking is a huge story. He warns Prick about what is coming. Jack points out that Abby took off with Zack right after being screwed over by Prick and Vic. He says she has been known to be impulsive. Paul arrives, and he has no word on Abby. Paul wants to know about Dina. Jack tells Paul that Drinki is fine and has been released, but Paul points out that Dina committed a felony and will be arrested. Previews: Paul to Dina, at Jack's office, and Mike, Jack and Ash are all there: Dina Mergeron, you are under arrest. And she holds out her hands, smiles sweetly and says, do you want to cuff me, Paul? Lauren to Sharon, at CL: None of this would have happened if you hadn't seduced my son. Vic to Prick, at NE: Abby left with him, and Prick says that they need to find her, this is a nightmare. Vic looked somewhat concerned for Abby. This is the next day as everyone is in different clothes, except for Dina. Question is, how did Dina get from a storage facility in the middle of nowhere to Jabot. Did she walk? Uber? 15 Link to comment

UsernameFatigue November 11, 2017 Share November 11, 2017 (edited) Wow, that was just one bad scene after another. I felt like I was watching some high school drama club putting on a really badly written play. The worst was Archie's scenes. In the car with Abby, his way of portraying anger was to slouch down behind of the wheel of the car, peering over the wheel and glaring, while barely able to see over the steering wheel. The funniest line was in the storage locker where he basically said "Let me take you away from all of this. We can have everything we have ever wanted". As if the Newman-Abbott princess, worth half a billion dollars, has always wanted a boyfriend who is a loser, a pimp, and has a chip on his shoulder because he is from the wrong side of town. And looks like a goofy cartoon character to boot. Every girl's dream for sure, particularly Victor Newman's daughter. Who writes this drivel? bannana November 13, 2017 Share November 13, 2017 (edited) Lots of squabbling today! And, Victoria is a stone cold bitch. It's a new day and Abby and Scott are nowhere to be found. Ice Queen Victoria arrives at Newman to find that Prick has met with the head of security. Prick tells Vic that he is stepping up the search for Abby. Vic says Abby just probably ran off, and changes the topic to the successful PR event. Hah! Somehow Neil managed to keep the stabbing and the sex ring out of any coverage! Prick doesn't want to hear about it, and Vic looks perplexed. Later Prick thanks her for handling the situation. Prick is worried about Abby. Nick is at the hospital with Drinki for her check-up on her wound. Drinki says she always knew Dina was a bitch, but she didn't know she was dangerous. At CL, Sharon is worried about Scott. She has called and texted and nothing. Mikey is there and he is being supportive but then Lauren shows up. Mikey and Lauren have their coffee and she is annoyed that Mikey is not more worried about Scott. Lauren tells Mikey she is not going to go off on Sharon. Then they argue about Sharon, because Lauren blames Sharon for Scott's disappearance. Mikey gets a text and has to leave. Paul arrives at CL and tells Sharon that she needs to stop calling and texting him. Paul leaves. Lauren tells Sharon that she seduced Scott and got him into this mess. Lauren says Sharon got Scott involved in the story so that she could keep her hooks in him. Lauren tells her to stay away from her son. They are shouting now, and Nick arrives and breaks it up. At Jabot Ash is with Jack and she is worried about Abby and Dina. Then Dina walks in accompanied by a police officer. The Officer leaves, during the commercial break. Dina explains to her children that she ran out of the TOTT, found an unlocked car and stowed away in the back seat. The people in the car eventually got to their destination and she snuck out of the car. So it appears she didn't recognize her own grand-daughter. She walked away and then a lovely police officer found her. They point out that the cop was from another jurisdiction, and the GC cops are looking for her. She says that now that she is back she wants her children to help her escape to Paris. She also keeps talking about how she is afraid of Drinki. Ash and Jack discuss what to do and they call Paul. Dina tells Jack and Ash that she was acting in self defense. Mikey arrives, as does Paul. They treat her with kid gloves. They take her to be booked and for her court appearance, after which she can go to the hospital to be checked out. On the commercial break, she gets out on bail so now Jack and Ash and Mikey take Dina to the hospital. Of course they bump into Drinki there. Drinki is not happy that some idiotic judge let her out on bail. Dina says she did the world a favour by sticking that knife in her, and Drinki calls her a crazy old bat. Jack apologizes to Drinki but tells her to not bait her, and Drinki says keep her away, because she is not responsible for what she might say. At NE, Prick is still worried. but Vic says Abby is smart and she ran off and doesn't want to be found. She persists that they need to discuss damage control re Design Date, and he is not interested. She says that Abby is flighty and trying to get his attention. Prick tells Vic about Scott being found with Natalia. He says that he believes that Zack killed Natalia, and that is why he is so worried. Vic pretends to be concerned for about one second. Drinki arrives at NE and learns that Abby has been kidnapped by a murderer. Drinki insists that Prick needs to tell Ash. Vic tells her mom that she and Ash got into it about DD at the party, and she says Ash is not being rational. Drinki says that is business, this is her daughter. Vic says involving Ash and Jack will slow down the investigation. WTF? Drinki compels Prick to contact the Abbotts. Mikey is discussing Dina's defense with Jack and Ash when they get the call from Prick. Ash is very upset at what Prick tells her. So I guess he used the line, Abby has been kidnapped by a murderer! Sharon and Nick talk about the Dina/Drinki mess, and the fact that Nick is being excluded by his family, because no one called Nick to tell him his mother had been stabbed. They talk about Scott, and Sharon confides in Nick that she is terribly worried. Nick says he doesn't like Scott, he has too much hair, and he is too outspoken. But he feels for Sharon, and supports her. She thanks him and they reminisce about their past, and say they will always be there for each other. Ash and Jack are at NE now. Ash is distraught. Prick says that he thinks Zack is too smart to hurt Abby, and that maybe he is using her as a shield or for ransom. And then Vic goes back to blaming Abby, sayin she discovered Zack, she worked closely with him, she must have some idea about the sex ring. Jack protests. Vic says she was into Zack and there is no telling what she would let him get away with. Ash says: you are not allowed to talk about my daughter like that, get the hell out of here. And Vic says she is not going anywhere, she is COO. Vic says Abby can be impetuous and immature, maybe Zack lied to her and defended himself so that she fell for him. Ash protests, and Vic says she knows her sister. Really? Cause you went from describing her as smart five minutes ago, and now you are describing her as flighty, impetuous, immature and stupid enough to be duped into knowingly supporting a sex ring. I don't even like Abby, and I am outraged for her. Jack says Vic is trying to distract from her own recent scandals. Vic says Abby ran off, and Ash says maybe Zack forced her. Vic says that she was surrounded by family, she could have called out to them. Jack reminds her that she and Prick yanked the rug out from under her, making her COO at a party that was supposed to be for Abby. Ash says to Vic, how could you do that to your sister. Then Prick decides to lash out at the Abbotts, calling them underhanded. He talks about a time when Jack tried to get his company from him by unethical means, and that he is galavanting around with his wife. Jack says: is that any more reprehensible than what you have done to me, to Phyllis, to my father, who let me remind you, had a heart attack when you took over his company. Drinki tells everyone to stop rehashing old stuff. She says, Abby belongs to all of us, it is our duty to find her and bring her home safely. Ash seems surprised by that. Jeez, Drinki, you might want to explain that to your daughter. Drinki then talks to Vic, trying to figure out if she really believes that Abby would willingly go along with a prostitution ring. Vic says, since when did the Naked Heiress become Saint Abby? She then says that love can make you do crazy things, referencing Billy. Vic says Abby worked closely with Zack, he moved in with her (?), how could she not know what was going on and if she didn't, she's naive. Drinki asks her if she doesn't have enough love in her heart to support her sister, and tells her to not let going back to Newman destroy her soul. It was kind of nice seeing Drinki call out Vic like that. Ash, Jack, Drinki and Prick discuss how they can find Abby. Prick wants to offer a reward, and finally they agree, and Jack and Prick each put in $5 million. Vic looks annoyed. They arrange for the money and then two FBI agents arrive. They tell Prick that they have reason to believe NE is involved with a sex trafficking ring. COO Victoria tells the agent that is a misunderstanding, but the agent doesn't even acknowledge her. The FBI agent gives Prick a warrant to seize all Newman computers and freeze the company's assets. Jack looks slightly pleased. Mikey is with Dina at the hospital and he is taking her home. They decide to get a hot chocolate together. Mikey says he heard that she ended up a long way from GC. He says, where were you? Dina says: roadside. He says, huh? And then she spells it out: R-O-A-D-S-I-D-E. And he says, well you were found by the side of the road. So I am guessing Roadside is the name of the storage facility and someone will finally figure that out. Previews: Lily to Vic: Your sister is missing and you are going to throw her under the bus? Abby to Scott: You are wrong, help is coming. My family will not rest until we are found. Paul to Sharon: We may have got our first break, the GPS coordinates of Scott's last phone call. Wait, what? It took them two days to get the GPS coordinates? I don't know if AH is just a really limited actor, but the way she is playing COO Victoria is really strange. She looks like she is still suffering brain poisoning. She is almost robotic, even talking to Drinki. And her attitude toward Abby is pretty bizarre. Also weird that she wouldn't have called Nick to tell him about their mother being stabbed. Gam2 November 14, 2017 Share November 14, 2017 Bannana, thanks so much for the recap. And you’re exactly right. AH is exactly that limited as an actress. She will stomp around, open and close folders, sigh, look at the other actor’s chest, frown, try to act concerned, order other people around in a nasty tone of voice and show no emotion, voice inflection, passion or anything else to show that she’s not dead. I will say my line, then you say yours, then I’ll say my next line after I stomp away and open/close a folder. OMG. 10 Link to comment
TwistedSoul7 November 14, 2017 Share November 14, 2017 Well to be fair... Abby did run off with him. Zack didn't force her. She went with him willingly like a dumbass. 4 Link to comment
