I was disgusted by the way Gloria spoke to Michael today. My son is the most thoughtful, loving young man but not once in his life has he ever sent me a Valentine's card, gift, flowers. I was his mother, not his sweetheart. That was his Dad's thing to do. What the hell is wrong with this character? And what was up with Ashley yelling at Jack and threatening to take the company away from him just out of the gate? Have I missed the slow build up to this outrage from her? Oh, and Ashley--cut your damn hair along with Lauren.

  • Love 2

I finally caught up and watched 4 episodes today back-to-back. Cane is working my last nerve. He's being so jealous and insecure and it's ridiculous. I just can't with him. Lily had nice chemistry with the photographer.

Reed is also working my last nerve. As is Billy.

I did enjoy Ester interrupting Colin every two seconds, lol. And that Jill was amused by it. I also can't wait for Jill to let Colin have it for taking all her money.

I liked Chelsea working the bar. She's believable as a bartender, as a fashion designer... well that's another story. However, I still think it's weird for her to be going on a date with Nick, Adam's brother, but oh well.

Faith is annoying. I don't know why she would think it would be okay to throw Nick and Sharon together just because they're both single? Sharon hid Christian from him and Nick was livid. Did that suddenly, magically. go away in Faith's eyes just because Sharon is sad?

The whole Victor having a soul thing is weird, too.

  • Love 9

Maybe it has something to do with Sharon and Nick both using her to manipulate the other her whole life? But geez, what's irritated about her doing it versus any other soap kid is that her parents have never been married once in her lifetime and aside from the three months or so before their last ill fated wedding attempt, she's never lived under the same roof as them both. It's hard for me to get this because my parents were in a similar situation when I was born and I never once thought much about it. I saw my dad every so often and that was that.

As much as I dislike Nick, I'm glad he didn't let himself get Brooke Logan'd by that crap.

LOL  vikki was doing up until her parents remarried a year ago and she's 45..

As insufferable as it is to watch kids pull that shit, I continue to be baffled when adult children who often have their own families cry about Mom and dad being together. I mean, Victor and Nikki break up every four frigging years ffs. B&B is infamous for this but not even the worst pairing on that show has had one party wishing death on the other and purposely destroying bridges that no sane human should ever rebuild, much less leave two suitors at the aisle for.

So Phyllis goes from giggling with Billy and saying they can be friends a few episodes back to basically angrily snarling at him today about using her to make Vic jealous and how he always thinks the world is against him and to stop living down to people's expectations. I'm lost.

Like Pop Tart said in the other thread; Mal and Sally are alternating days and paying no attention to what the other one is doing.

I'm not so lost. I totally get why Phyllis was annoyed with Billy. The other day he admittedly kissed her because he was upset with Victoria. He called Phyllis his "vice" to Victoria's "trigger" which I am sure wasn't pleasant to hear. They got over it and decided to be friends once he apologized. Then here he goes doing it AGAIN. This time she was less forgiving because he wasn't even trying. He flat out admitted he was once again rejected by Victoria and then had the nerve to ask her if he could take her home. He basically was treating her like a joyride and she wasn't having it. I liked that Phyllis is starting to see what Victoria has been dealing with all this time. He is a manchild. Only unlike Victoria she isn't stuck with him.

3 hours ago, HeatLifer said:

I believe it. And Phyllis' line to Vic about why she was with Jack or "should I ask Billy?" WTF?

I think Phyllis got jealous for a brief second there. It was a weird comment though. I guess she thought tossing out Billy's name would get some kind of reaction out of Victoria like she wanted to remind her they still talk. Victoria didn't bite though.

I really like the new credits. They're pretty.

I loved the Jill/Colin scenes. Her freaking out, throwing him out in the cold of winter in only his birthday suit, him wearing the welcome mat as a towel, heh. I thought Jill did a good job with that scene and I loved when Esther was pretending to dust while standing right next to them, heh. So it looks like Jill has a heart attack. I'm looking forward to more on that front.

I was grossed out by Ashley sitting in Jack's office barefoot with her feet on the table. I hate feet. Also, eww. It's a place of business, not your living room Ashley.

That's all I got.

I feel like this is more than that. The writers want to tease both Villy and Philly, which means Billy as a character is the one who suffers in the end. One second he's telling Victoria that he knows that she sees Phyllis and his other mistakes when she looks at him (even though she said she tries not to and thinks of their  kids) and the next second he's acting sleazy with Phyllis again. The fact is, the show refuses to close the door on either Villy or Philly and so we get Multiple Personality Billy.

Also, it's very hard to create credible drama having two women both hung up on a sale table sock puppet.

They doing a triangle with Nick, Chelsea, and Noah? These scenes kinda felt it was going there.

I liked Nikki calling Victor out on his sexist ways with Victoria in regards with to how she is treats versus her brothers.

Jill screaming in denial really hit a home for me. I watched my mother do the same thing and it was tough. I don't know illness storylines on soaps because they are never done well but I am curious how this will shape Jill who has never seen herself as weak.

Free Lily. I like Jordan.

  • Love 6

An absolutely yuuuuuge NO to a Newman father/ son ickfest with  Chellserella. She has swapped body fluids with Adam,Dylan and Nick so Noah needs to stay clear. I looked at those scenes as a means of showing that Noah approves of this relationship so that he can be a cheerleader at some point. Now pass the brain bleach please.

  • Love 6

I kinda want them to go there too!

While it's a tried and true trope on many other soaps, it hasn't really happened in earnest on this soap save for Neil and Devon and Jack and John waaaaaaaaaay back in the day and even then Jack didn't want Jill.

Noah's a big boy. A man and unlucky in love. He's lonely, but a good guy and need of a purpose and direction in his life beyond running a club.

Nick's a manwhore who has been married multiple times and has babies all over the place.

Noah has to have some resentment towards Nick about how he did his mom dirty in the original Phick affair that broke up their family after Cassie died.  It may not be with the fire of a thousand suns level, but I could see Noah kind of thinking 'Dude, you go through women like tissue paper. You'll mess with Chelsea like you did mom.'

Nick having a rival in his son has a little payback for Nick betraying Jack with Phyllis as Jack was Nick's father figure and they played that connection heavily in Jack's hurt over the Phick affair.

Noah for the most part really is a good guy. His biggest sin was backing over Billy unintentionally. Nick can't malign or play the he's the better guy card. And he wouldn't want to. This is his son. And if there is one thing I can say about Nick is that he's been a pretty good soap dad.

Noah finally having a relationship with a character that is not just passing through but got roots on the canvas and history with his family has a lot of layers to play.

The real test will be if Noah and Chelsea can generate longing and forbidden fruit temptation HEAT that makes the viewers want them together. Chelsea is older and has a lot of world experience and seems to be a better fit for Nick as they raise their kids, but Noah is young but not that young and Chelsea isn't a cougar and she's had a lot of complicated men in her life. Noah is sweet, easy, simple - even simpler than Dylan. She may need and want simple in her life.

I think the triangle could have a lot of potential.

  • Love 5

Well, I guess if SSM is trying for the B&B approach, that reliable old saw, a father/son triangle involving Chelsea would be right down that tropey alley. I'm not a fan and it would behoove Sally to ask how that worked out for Pratt and JFP before she embarks down that same well-trodden, rutted road.

Maybe Show can really do itself proud and have Victor get in on the act, so to speak.....

He and Nick were both boinking Diane Jenkins at the same time, or am I remembering incorrectly?  You know, shortly before he pushed her out of the ambulance?  Ahh, that Newman charm can't be beat, can it?

Noah was too young to get in on that action, but he's old enough now to show his Paw and GrandPaw that he too understands the meaning of family.

Maybe Nikki can videotape it all for them.  And Faith can dance around in one of her purty sparkly Chelsea 2.0 Chess Tournament gowns.

I, for one, just Can NOT wait.

And as we discuss the disgusting here [thanks, eminem], I wish to add the opening scenes in the The Beatification of Billy Tour. Quick, call the Vatican--there may be seats left--and none of them damp [okay, excuse me there].

Show is using the Jill PSA heart-issues to pit Billy the Caring Son against Crappy Colin. This is standard-issue character propping-by-contrast, but oh, dear Lord, it's crapawful. "You know, he may have learned his lesson, and he's got a good heart. And he's being nice to Victoria. Just give him some time..." - those sentences courtesy of devoted SID readers who wedged in a moment to tweet in between bidding on Thomas Kincaid shot glasses.

If there was an older gentleman protector that I thought Chelsea would be paired with it was Jack back when MM's Adam died. I thought for sure that he and Chelsea would be getting the story she and Nick are getting now except that Jack would be working to make sure that Chelsea was protected from Victor and Connor stayed with her. Jack would fall for her, Chelsea would feel bad she didn't love him back but still need his protection and would kind of play on it to Ashley's every rising suspicious eyebrow.

Instead they put her with Billy. For the second round it's Nick. Boo.

But honestly? Under a different regime, I could totally see Chelsea and Victor only it'd be Chelsea being ruthless and somehow drugging/manipulating him into marrying her so she would have protection for Connor. Basically what Sharon was accused of doing, Chelsea would actually do. It'd be karmic payback for his hiring her to kidnap Billy in Myanmar and bring her back to her roots and actually be understandable since Victor is (or was) always threatening to take Connor away. Once she's caught, Jack then plays her white knight and battles Victor on her behalf, effectively putting to an end the cease fire Jack around that time was trying to honor. Ashley could be pissed that Chelsea is the reason the families are feuding again. Chelsea and Jack enter into a marriage of convenience where feelings ebb and flow....and then it's around this time that Gabe Bingham returns...

  • Love 2

I actually liked Faith being sad over seeing Nick and Chelsea kiss. She didn't throw a tantrum, she kind of just withdrew and was not her normal self.  I was actually expecting her to be listening and over here Chelsea and Victor talking about how Christian isn't his.

Does Chelsea who judged and attacked Sharon over lying about who Christian's parents are, plus hid the parentage of Connor from Adam and Dylan. Thinks starting a relationship with Nick based on another paternity lie is a great idea?

Victoria's a horrible mother to Reed, why is he surprised when she lost full custody for a reason. He left the parent that raised him for this and he's surprised she knows nothing about him and rather run after Billy?

Liked seeing all Newmans in a room together. Love Abby's outfit and I'm glad they have her and Noah as friendly. They were doing the Abby/Adam brotherly-sister bond pretty great with him being on her side. Noah is kind of filling that gap as the outsider Newmans.

Is Summer still supposed to be in Europe? Do they even mention her anymore?

Hush....don't remind anyone... she's still on that night time show getting leered at by her BF's male relatives. I stopped watching that real quick after a few times. The men (married) all had their tongues unrolling at her boobs.

Is Chels Noah's 'double auntie' or just single. She could go for the trifecta.

There are isolated arctic villages with more hybrid vigor than GC.

I always wanted Chels to go all con on the rich folks (victor) with Adam. This show doesn't need another "real" housewife. Maybe if a Burned up Adam returns (When she is - of course - preggers with Nick/Noah's baby) and she goes all Revenge Of The Nasty Woman on Old Victor.

If not maybe prison doc can return with an imaginary baby and a sledge hammer and kidnap Victor for a little Misery retreat at the Abbott cabin of death.

I can't with Chelsea's whole "I know he killed my husband after torturing him in a prison with a bunk that was 4 inches too short....but he's sorry...sooo....

  • Love 7

I am trying to get back into the show, so watched the whole episode today.  It wasn't totally boring and horrible.  A couple of things:

Billy should be somewhat more sympathetic now that he is playing the role of devoted son, but he is still an asshat.  And I agree with Jill, he had no right to throw Colin out.

Ash is really acting like a mean girl 35 years her junior.

What is Hilary's end game?  Why oh why did she turn down a quarter of a billion dollars to win back Darvon?

Is Jack now having a secret affair with Glo?  Did I miss something last week?

Is Cane really going to  continue working for Vic after he openly was hostile to her about the Brash and Sassy purchase?  Awkward.

Cane and Lily really don't have a guest bedroom in their retro bungalow?

Lol, this whole freakin show is awkward.

  • Love 3

For once, I agree with Billy. Jill getting so upset about Colin stealing her money certainly contributed to her heart attack. The last person she needed to see was that grifter at the hospital. My son would have thrown his lying ass out of the hospital and then called the police to file a restraining order. I would hope that this would cause a change for the good in Billy but no. He'll just continue to be the selfish, self centered asshole he's always been after Jill recovers.

My sons would have thrown out the pieces.  But here's a lesson for all:  never take sides in a domestic quarrel.  they always team up and get mad at you.

Oh wow, we dodged a Buttbiscuit bullet today!  During the GC Buzz interview, Jordan and Cane took off their shirts, but thankfully Billy didn't.  And Cane was easy to ignore with Jordan's buff bod on full display.

Billy is more unlikable each day.  Today he harangued Jill about Colin, causing her more stress.  Then he harangued Vic about Cane.  And he glowered for most of the ep.  Sigh.  Billy Miller, please come back.

Vic uses the same tone with her employees/colleagues as she does with Reed.  It's hard to believe she is a successful business person.  Oh, and her hair was a mess again, but I read that the actress really likes her hair that way and cannot understand all the hair haters out there.

There were a bunch of Katherine flashbacks while Jill was dreaming about Colin.  I didn't really watch those, but I did like the one where Colin was wearing a pink robe in bed with Jill, and reminding Kay of her own messy marriage, wherein she killed her husband while driving drunk.

Oh, and I think Hevon might be back on.

In the previews for tomorrow, Vic finds out about Reed's latest transgressions at Open Mike night, so prepare yourself for the OTT tirade she will go on as she further grounds him by locking him in a cage in her basement, a la Pricktor back in the day (that was for Chelz)

  • Love 10

I didn't mind Victoria's hair. It was curled at the ends and seemed fine...

Cane is pasty but Jordan is fine. I'm so over Hilary just winging things and being all devious and underhanded.

I enjoyed the Catherine flashbacks. Jill seeing Catherine in her hospital room was weird though. Catherine looked so narrow and skinny. Was she already sick then? I like how Jill freaked out about giving up alcohol. I feel you, girl.

It also amused me that Lily had more clothes/coverage on today for the cameras than I ever saw her wearing while at work at the GCAC....

Not a bad episode overall. At least I didn't have to see Ashley.

I snorfled during the Katherine FBs--and so glad there were lots of them. Yes, she looked very thin during the hospital-room cut, but the show's editing people did a really smooth job with the cuts there. I so miss Jeanne Cooper! She could act the ass off just about everyone in soaps--her timing was extraordinary!

The rest of it? GC Buzz, I could care less about. Period. But yeah, putting a dress with no cut-outs, slits, or whatever, on Lily for once made a nice change. But pleeeeeze, script-people, stop making me watch the Cane and Lily nostril-flaring and Hallmark Horny Sentiments scenes!!!

In the minority here, I admire Amelia Heinle's hair--it does look really healthy, and frankly, in terms of whatever career-woman style is supposed to be, there's a hell of a lot of long, unstructured hair on most of the female leads.

I snorfled right along with you pearlite. JC's first flashback made me jump and then become intensely sad at how much I miss her presence on the show.

Really Billy? Your mother needs to relax not freak out more. Colin may have driven her already taxed heart close to the edge but you are going to toss her off the cliff by lecturing/ harassing her. The doctor should ban your ass.

I would like to join the table of those who think Jordan is fine. ?

  • Love 10

Well, it was a good thing I was busy cooking braised beef short ribs for the first time whilst watching this ep, because it was quite boring, and I had to concentrate on my cooking.

In addition to a kinder, gentler Pricktor, now we are getting a kinder, gentler Stepford Drinki who is going to help Sharon relaunch her life around a new purpose.

Queen Victoria of course was shrewish with Reed, who was sullen, mean and feeling sorry for himself.  But Billy was there to help mediate!  His word, not mine.  Her tone with Reed is horrid, but of course that is how she talks to all her loved ones and employees.  She and Ashley have become the same person.

Drinki for some reason almost spilled the truth about Dylan's departure to Noah, who is intrigued and wants to know more.  So many mentions of Noah being premature and almost dying that I think those are anvils for him dying.

And Colin is desperate to get Jill back, causing her to have more stress and a spike in BP.  Jill seems like she is going to cave eventually.

And that is all I caught, @jewel21, maybe you have more?

  • Love 8

Let me think, Banana.

Sharon runs into Nick and Chelsea at Crimson Lights after having her big talk with Nikki. She informs Chelsea that she is quitting Chelsea 2.0 to run Crimson Lights and I guess help Nikki in her quest to help women in need who are poor or battered or something?

Both Billy and Nick offer parenting advice to Vicky at Crimson Lights.

Billy plays the video of Reed performing at the Underground, that Mariah posted on the GC Buzz, for Victoria once Reed stormed off to his room. It seems Vicky is impressed. Reed also had a groupie approach him at the Underground and was flattered.

Jill brings Catherine up to Colin. Jill makes some kind of comment about Catherine riding the stable boys more than the horses back in the day and I kind of snickered. I'm not familiar with that particular version of Catherine but she seemed fun.

Other than that, I think you've covered everything. Thanks, Banana!
