HeatLifer July 21, 2016 Share July 21, 2016 I cannot even begin to describe how sick of Victor I am, and have been for decades. And his minions defense of him is vomit-worthy. Just...ugh. It's not that I don't understand her POV on Victor, it's that I'm exhausted of her character and want Jack FREE, for goodness sake. 13 Link to comment

You know I used to be a die hard Victor fan, probably because I used to watch with my grandma and she though he was a matinee idol. My dad always liked him because the actor had done Rat Patrol. But now when I look at him all I see is Donald Trump. Not to be political. Just the thug factor. 10 Link to comment

Great writing, show. As I was brushing my teeth this morning that thought entered my mind. She's fucking his brother, lying to him constantly, has LEFT him. But he must react to trauma (because show likes to forget but I do not that he was brutalized) as she dictates or he's scum and she has no choice but to 1. Scream in his face and 2. Go fuck his brother some more because he GETS her (he actually does get her; she hasn't let her husband touch her for weeks, ha). I have often wondered why I watch this show. In every other respect I hold "art" to a high standard. I can't watch trash movies or read commercial fiction for example. But I have never been THIS insulted by soap writing. I can no longer enjoy the actors or the comfort in continuity of more than three decades of watching many of these people and sets. I'm enraged and insulted just thinking about Y&R. Well done, show. You've finally killed the last bit of emotional connection I had for this show. 14 Link to comment

And that sad, sad scene on the stairs. [Please Mr Young, you're a nice, kinda cultured English guy, you got this part right, so please...] Now, brightening up amid the usual encircling, Billy-esque gloom here, the Jill scenes were really enjoyable for me. JW was on point, and her scheming and calling out of Billy were such pleasant changes. I still can't get over actually enjoying Cane, mind you. I do know it's (a) mainly by comparison with ThingBilly, and (b) due to the fact they're giving him more to play in these scenes than just seduction with toy Eiffel Towers, but I'll take it. And, please JW, I know you have a wonderful country place, but could you do a lady a solid and stick around? Your triumphant entry into the GCAC was in perfect tone for what the show should be. Now, many may disagree, but I found much to enjoy in Jack's courtroom address to Victor. Old-school, "I'll never forgive you" stuff, delivered beautifully. Makes me long for an office chair and a plate-glass window. I can suffer the Victor crap because I believe we're being led down the Newman Ranch path with this. Or, at least, a woman can hope. 10 Link to comment
boes July 24, 2016 Share July 24, 2016 It was comforting, watching this episode, to know that some old feelings burn as brightly as they ever did. So while I enjoyed watching Cane deck ButtBiscuit the other day, watching this episode, my dislike of fish-belly white, pudgy faced prune lipped Cane is as steady as it ever was. My dislike of ButtBiscuit is what's driving my dislike of Billy. Give us this character restructured to who he was in the Billy Miller days, played by an actor who doesn't remind me of our 2nd grade class gerbil and I could like Billy again. I will NEVER be able to stand that entitled, lying, asswipe of a crustacean known as Cane. The guy slithered his way into town and into Jill's life, spent the rest of his time serial lying to one and all, and yet thinks he's not a ButtBiscuit too?? He and Lily make a perfect couple. I was onboard with everything Phyllis had to say in court today, everything. Watching, I thought how different this all would be if Pratt hadn't ruined her by what she's doing to Jack. She laid into Victor with emotion and into his family with merciless precision. Nicole and Victoria, and then Dummer were particularly despicable today. Dummer, acting surprised with "she's still really upset" - yeah you moron, your mom is still upset because your beloved Gwampaw HAD HER RAPED FOR MONTHS. Nikki had made such progress before she backslide into becoming Nicole, hadn't she? Her waspish attitude towards Phyllis in the courtroom was bad enough, but she is currently DEATTOME after giving Jack attitude later, telling him to control his wife, and then being such an asshole to him by bringing up the fact that Phyllis has left him. Ditto to Victoria. They both should have been thanking him, being kind to him, but they were ButtBiscuits, too. Victor can do whatever he wants to all of them and I hope he does. Peter Bergman was fantastic today, just fantastic. Show has a stellar actor in him but they give him such crap. Contrast the layers of his performance with EB, whose only dramatic expression anymore seems to be terminal flatulence. Of course any liking I had for Phyllis earlier went right down the drain when she decided to dip her webbed toes in the ButtBiscuit cesspool again. I'm ff'ding most of that stuff these days. I like this version of Jill and I hope she sticks around. She's pushy, she's brassy, she's tough and she's not braying. I like. And Show did a seamless transition with Jill holding that paintbrush into Katherine's last scene. Damn....... Remember when Show only infuriated on occasion, and not every day? It's a memory, getting more distant with every episode. 14 Link to comment

miamama July 24, 2016 Share July 24, 2016 yeah I'm with Valley re: Phyllis. Show is giving her these scenes not to actually show us the heinous nature of Victor's crimes but to show us her motivation for fucking Billy. And I'm sick and tired of being treated like an idiot. It seems like we are back on the route that Phyllis was traumatized and she's messed up and so she is doing stupid and reckless things -- i.e. the affair. But the problem with this is what does that make Billy? He is taking advantage of a sexually traumatized woman? His sister in law? Really, show? And Billy has also taken full advantage of his traumatized brother. Jack is cowering and wanting everything to go away and just live his life (a traumatized reaction) and Billy sees this as an excellent opportunity to get some Phyllis. He has done nothing but yell at Jack and tell him how "useless" he is and that he needs to be back on the island with Kelly. And lately he is pumping Jack for information and getting him to stay away from his wife so Billy can go fuck her. Billy is sick. But this show will not call him out on it. No. He is seen as a dark, sexy hero. We the viewers are once again expected to leave our intelligence at the door. The writers don't give a thought to things like motivation and character development. They think "Stupid women want to see men caressing a woman and her fancy bra. Yeah. We can do that." These "stupid women" are the audience they write for (and sadly they are out there). They don't write for people who want intelligent, thoughtful storytelling. It's a soap. I expect leaps in logic and some flexibility with medical and legal issues. But this is too much. I can't do it anymore. I can no longer suspend disbelief. I no longer buy that Phyllis was raped. All I see is the utterly ludicrous Marco tale and I just can't feel an ounce of compassion. Because that too has become a device to sell the latest stupid plot. Doppelgängers replacing husbands, a laughable justice system, companies you can buy online with one click, convenient cellphone disruption leading to sex, on and on. It's like the scales have fallen from my eyes re: soaps. But the truth is my generosity as a viewer has been so abused that I am done. 9 Link to comment
jewel21 July 24, 2016 Share July 24, 2016 I finally got around to watching Friday's ep last night. I loved all the scenes with Jill. And I'm so with her on her choice of Forget-Me-Not yellow. It's pretty and fresh. And I liked how seamlessly the house merged from its dreary blue into Catherine's elegant mansion. That scene with Catherine on the stairs made me tear up. I had also forgotten what the mansion originally looked like, so it was nice to see it again. While Phyllis is a terrible person, and always has been, I did think Nikki and Victoria were totally bitches for how to spoke to Phyllis about letting go of the fact Victor had her raped for months on end. And it makes me wonder, had the roles been reversed, with Nikki or Vicky be able to "let it go" so quickly? Victor "saving" Phyllis' life does not erase the heinous crime he had committed against her. The fact that the Newmans and Dummer except her to just move on and forget is ridiculous. That being said, her then running to Billy makes me want to scream. And punch him in the face. I've always been rather indifferent to Jack for the most part. He was always a nice guy in my eyes but rather bland. But I've been really feeling for him the past year. And I hate that Phyllis is just using him and lying to him the way she has been. It's not fair. And I also hate how the writer's are not acknowledging Jack's trauma. It's all about Phyllis. I want to see Jack deal with PTSD and nightmares and whatnot. Meh, too much to ask I guess. 6 Link to comment

NinjaPenguins July 25, 2016 Share July 25, 2016 In a way, I suppose I do appreciate soaps for their simplicity. There are certain tropes that can always be relied on, and there is a certain comfort in that. For example, a man who enables murder, rape, kidnapping and torture is obviously a villain. Viewers are kept on the edge of their seats, wondering how and when justice will be served. Will it be the law or the victims exacting revenge? Surely this menace to society won't be rewarded with a brief stay in a low-security prison with a beautiful young doctor tending to his sexual needs. Surely he won't be freed after a bizarre hearing that morphs into a ritualistic family circle jerk drenched in the pungent scent of secondhand embarrassment. And yet...and yet this soap cannot even achieve that level of simplicity. This show needs a jet pack and several litres of rocket fuel to rise to the level of stupid. Stupid would be a glorious relief at this point. Drama? Give me an army of miners toting unbreakable pickaxes and I couldn't mine a nugget of drama from "Victor always wins." Affairs are a soap staple that can lead to major fallout, and we may indeed get that from Phyllis and Billy, but watching two pathological vipers betray, abuse, and manipulate Jack for months demands more than this show has proven itself capable of giving. We shall see. 15 Link to comment

Victurd sets up terrible constructs against his perceived enemies and the end result of those actions (besides inflicting emotional and physical pain on family and friends) is him saving =fill in the blank= and being a hero. [See: Colleen's heart.] I have long thought that Grampire has some form of Munchhausen's syndrome wherein he has to have a situation in which to be a hero at the expense of people he supposedly loves. Try exploring that condition, Pratthole-would love to see how you fcuk it up. 2 hours ago, NinjaPenguins said: Give me an army of miners toting unbreakable pickaxes and I couldn't mine a nugget of drama from "Victor always wins." Hell, even Ridge is no longer untouchable since the recast. But I do (albeit in decreasing frequency) still see the show I first tuned into. This show? I can't even. It took me years to get into this show despite going up with it, but it was always the "smart" soap opera filled with powerful women and headed by Katherine. Victor had his dark side from day one, but Bell eventually struck a balance between the jealous lover who fed rats to his rival and being man who truly cared about his family and hated that he couldn't be a full time father for the years Nikki was married to Jack. That's pretty much destroyed now. Sabrina was lucky to die in a car crash before Victor could destroy her in their inevitable divorce. 7 Link to comment

jewel21 July 26, 2016 Share July 26, 2016 I'm happy Jill found Phyllis and Billy in bed and then threw Phyllis' blouse down in disgust. I hope she makes those two squirm like the worms they are. Take no prisoners, Jill. Chloe goes to visit Chelsea and laughs like a maniac in her face every time Chelsea says Adam is innocent. Like that won't raise any red flags along with Chloe's appearance on her doorstep. Oh, Chloe. You still are coo-coo for cocoa puffs. I want to say it's nice to see the Ranch again, but I hate the remodel. I wish they would go back to the version before Sharon set it on fire. Vicky and Nick are worried about what Victor is doing to do tomorrow at Newman now that he's free. Idiots should be worried about what their daddy is going to do to all of GC now that they've unleashed him back into society. Adam doesn't want Connor to visit him in jail much to Chelsea's dismay. And then Anita visits Adam to tell him he should let Chelsea go rather than let her waste 30 years of her life on him while he's behind bars. It hasn't even been 12 hours yet, Anita. Chillax. Despite all the stupidity, it was a decent episode. I'm actually kind of interested for tomorrow. Jill is going to confront Phyllis! And Lauren is upset Cane didn't tell her he was leaving Fenmore. Like who cares, Lauren. 12 Link to comment
HeatLifer July 26, 2016 Share July 26, 2016 Lol, so from what I gathered from a recap, the only thing Jill cares about is poor Billy and protecting him from the family hating him? And that's why she blackmails Phyllis to stay with Jack? And Phyllis' plan was to break it off with Jack and then pretend her and Billy just randomly started a relationship afterwards? This is really how they're playing this story? Alrighty.... 5 Link to comment
jewel21 July 27, 2016 Share July 27, 2016 Yup, Jill threatens Phyllis that if she doesn't stop this thing with Billy, she will turn around and tell Jack. Jill keeps trying to convince Phyllis that she and Billy don't belong together, and their relationship would only ruin Billy's relationship with his family. It would tear the Abbots apart, it would tear Jack apart, and none of them would ever accept Billy and Phyllis together. Phyllis cries and cries and then goes to see Billy and tells him she takes it back and will not be leaving Jack. Billy is hurt, sheds a lone tea,r and proceeds to bitterly drink his sorrows away. Dr. Neville leaves *sobs* but not before a nice goodbye with Ashley. Those two had such nice chemistry together, I'm so sad they wrote him off the show. Chloe stops by the Abbot mansion and is surprised to see Billy there. They talk a little about Delia, and then Chloe goes to get some of DeeDee's things from the attic. She then goes to visit Esther at Crimson Lights and gives her mom a big hug. She tells Esther she has something she wants to show her and brings her by her crappy motel room. Inside is a sitter with baby Bella. Baby Bella is really adorable, btw, but I hate that they killed of Delia for ratings so I'm annoyed she even exists. She tells Esther to meet her granddaughter, and Ester's mouth drops open and she looks like she's trying to remember the number to the insane asylum Chloe was just released from. Then some boring crap with the Winters, Cane, and Lauren. 12 Link to comment
CountryGirl July 27, 2016 Share July 27, 2016 (edited) So Jill finds out and is keeping her trap shut? That's a first. So Dr. Neville, who was pretty awesome and a perfect match for Ashley, is leaving. So I guess that means we're back to the mother/daughter triangle with Poppin-Not-So-Fresh in the middle. I guess Trashley's lust (ew!) for Stench is more important than her daughter. Why TPTB thought it was good idea to bring back cuckoo-for-cocoa-puffs-Chloe I will never know. jewel21 July 28, 2016 Share July 28, 2016 Well, I enjoyed this episode and actually paid attention. Unfortunately, I already forgot what happened, heh. Main thing, Chloe is back and runs into Chelsea at the coffee shop. Chelsea sees a sippy cup in Chloe's bag and asks if that's how she's taking her coffee these days. Chloe tells Chelsea about Bella. I thought Bella was going to be a secret, oh well. Then Nathalie and Kevin run into Chloe and she acts evasive and wants to run. Kevin asks Swiss Miss if it's okay if he talks to Chloe and chases after her. Swiss Miss then shows up at Sharon's and asks Mariah for a history lesson on Chloe. Kevin keeps asking Chloe questions like what she's doing back and how long she'll be in town for, etc. Chloe starts being extra sketchy and eventually runs off, but clever Kevin sees Esther and gets Chloe's location from her. He shows up at her room and at first Chloe tries to hide Bella from him but she eventually lets Kevin in. She tells Kevin Bella is her daughter, and no she's not his. Kevin says hi to Bella and tells her he knew her big sister and she looks a lot like her. And I totally tear up. Damn you, show. Dullen gets into a fight with Paulie Tight Pockets about wanting to keep investigating Adam's case. Paulie yells and tells him no, the case is closed. Dullen decides to ignore Paul. Michael convinces Adam he's an idiot, and no he will not tell Chelsea to move on from Adam. He runs into Chelsea and does tell her to visit Adam in jail. Adam tries the whole, I can't make you wait for me for 30 years, you deserve better speech, but Chelsea ain't having it, and Adam is relieved because he says he cannot live without her love and support and *yawn.* Lastly, Abby confronts Stench at the hospital because he gave away all their baby's bridal shower gifts to the Pediatrics department without telling her first. She storms off and gets them back and then starts opening them at home while crying and throwing them around. Ashley teleports into the room or something and they talk and she calms Abby down. Abby shows up back at the hospital with the gifts and she and Stench finally talk things out. He does eventually want another baby, but once Max is better and he seems some light at the end of the tunnel. They kiss and go drop the gifts off back at the Pediatrics department. I forget what the previews were about. Sorry. 7 Link to comment

I haven't gotten a good look at her yet - does she resemble a chipmunk at all? 5 Link to comment
DivaT July 28, 2016 Share July 28, 2016 I can't with Abby and Stitch and this baby angst. I don't even consider them a viable couple. And I don't think the show would ever give them a baby. Wasting time. 5 Link to comment
crosby777 July 28, 2016 Share July 28, 2016 Quote I will NEVER be able to stand that entitled, lying, asswipe of a crustacean known as Cane. ME EITHER!!!! The actor seems as smarmy as the character.. and I do not find him attractive at all. Quote Yup, after today, I gotta take a break until Jack finds out. I have no interest in watching him get shit on with this Victor stuff just so Phyllis can screw Billy and make them "rootable. I can't wait till that boring old idiot Jack finds out.. I hope it makes him crash and burn.. he is much better as an addict .. LOL Quote Why TPTB thought it was good idea to bring back cuckoo-for-cocoa-puffs-Chloe I will never know. I love Chloe and always liked Chloe and Billy together.. she calls him on his shit like no one else.. not even the ridiculous Jill.. 1 Link to comment

I'm just not amused at all by how they're portraying Billy in terms of Jack. It's unappealing to watch someone act so heartless and diabolical to someone who has done nothing to them while also screwing said person's wife. But apparently this story is hot! fun! edgy! exciting! sexy! 5 Link to comment
Capricasix July 29, 2016 Share July 29, 2016 Billy Miller's Billy was never mean. He may have messed up many times, but his intentions were always good. This Billy is just a mean, malicious asshole. And I'm not even watching - my husband watches, but I leave the room when it's on. 10 Link to comment

jewel21 July 30, 2016 Share July 30, 2016 So, yesterday, Victor decided to add breaking and entering onto his resume. A day after being released from jail. Oh, yes, Newman family, Victor has clearly changed from his six month stint in jail. Excuse me as I roll my eyes around the world. Anyway, Victor breaks into Chloe's motel room and ransacks the place looking for the missing journal pages. Chloe walks in on him and he threatens her to return the pages while making creepy googly eyes at Bella. Chloe keeps insisting she burnt the pages but Victor says she would never be stupid enough to burn her leverage against him. Chelsea visits Adam in jail and informs him that Chloe is back in town. Adam, the only one with a brain in all of Genoa City, puts two and two together and realizes that Chloe is the mystery woman Victor was working with because she hates him with every fiber of her being after killing Delia. Chelsea doesn't want to think Chloe would do that to Adam (despite being on hand to watch Chloe run Adan down with a rental car) but finally concedes that it might be a possibility. She agrees to get close to Chloe to find out what she knows, if it means Adam coming home. Chelsea visits Chloe in her trashed motel room and convinces Chloe to come live with her at the penthouse since Adam is gone and she is lonely. She even gives Chloe a job with her clothing line. I'm trying to imagine Sharon and Chloe working together and that's just too much crazy to think about. Meanwhile, Phyllis and Billy are in an elevator and he puts the moves on her. She kisses him back before giving him a vicious smack and storming out. Jill sees Billy's lip and asks what happens and he lies and says he walked into a dummy. No, not Summer. An actual mannequin. She doesn't buy it and goes to visit Phyllis after demanding to know if she still loves Jack. Phyllis says yes but doesn't seem very convincing to me. Meanwhile, Jack is sad he and Billy are drifting apart. He visits Billy at the Bordello for Depressives, which is still that ugly blue color, and asks him to sit on the board with him at the foundation. Billy says no but eventually changes him mind when learning that Phyllis will also be on the board. Billy is such a turd. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but that's all I recall. Previews show Kevin saying that he might be a father, and Mariah saying today is the day he will find out. 12 hours ago, HeatLifer said: He has NO redeeming qualities. Scary how those two are interchangeable now. 11 Link to comment

This Billy is dark, disgusting, selfish and disloyal. There s nothing sexy about any of those traits. The way he runs after his brother's wife is the most repulsive think I have seen in a long time. I hope when JT's contract is up that he is gone and they hire someone who can portray Billy with at least a little bit of heart and respect for his brother. 9 Link to comment

You know,I have no problem with dark, selfish, disloyal, etc. (see Dollar Bill on B&B) but ButtBiscuit ain't selling it. I want him GONE. Period, end of story. 5 Link to comment

Artsda August 1, 2016 Share August 1, 2016 It's so hilarious Victor's angry at Chloe for the missing pages about his innocent son in jail. This was your master plan, idiot and father of the year! Then Nick mad at Adam because of Victor's plan to get rid of Vicky. He's mad at the innocent guy in jail and was framed instead of Victor? 4 Link to comment
jewel21 August 2, 2016 Share August 2, 2016 Sharon's going camping, haha. Sorry, I'm dying. Sharon suggested to Dullen they go on a family trip to Hawaii or somewhere exotic, but Dylan said he couldn't get the time off but then suggested camping. And then Sharon guilted Mariah into coming. I can't wait to see how this plays out. Chelsea is still trying to con Chloe. Chloe convincingly tells Chelsea that she has let go for her rage and anger toward Adam because she has Bella to think about. Speaking of, Bella and Connor are playing together and Chelsea is joking about designing Bella's wedding dress. Abby and Stitch are at the GCAC rooftop being lovely dovey. Ashley visits with Devon and Hillary at the GCAC and informs them that they are being sued by the patients of the drug trial. Ashley advises Devon to settle and compensate the victims but Hillary says that would be admitting defeat. Nick also shows up at Chelsea's trying to figure out why Adam and Chelsea are just sitting by waiting for Victor to free Adam from jail. End of the show shows both Chloe and Kevin showing up at the hospital because the paternity results are in. We don't get to find out what they are though. 6 Link to comment

Apparently he doesn't have enough You mean between schlepping Phyllis, bonking Bethany, cock blocking Vikki, his one sided feud with Jack, his hatred of Victor, and now being co-CEO of Brass and Sassy with his ex-wife and the con artist his mother adopted? God, he's so underused, he makes Devon of yore look as propped and over exposed as Cricket! :/ Not. 4 Link to comment
