Catelynn (and Tyler)

If they have filmed more of these shows, I'm sure we'll see them.  I hope not though since I think the show is unethical and somewhat damaging.

And of course they brought back Farrah, she's drama fiend trash...and they know people will click in and watch that.  They were right.  Farrah continues to be the horrible person she is and like watching a horrible car accident, people can't help themselves.  Being boring on TM is a compliment IMO.

"I am Tyler, hear me Roar!"

A Twitter groupie wrote, “I don’t know how you ignore all these knobheads! Enjoy your lives, have more babies. Be happy.”  Tyler's reply was “It’s very simple when you know your own heart & soul & know that you are a good person. The lion does not dwell on the opinions of sheep.”

So Tyler is a fan of Game of Thrones.

He's got to be a fan of something because it sure as hell ain't smelly Cate and unwashed NonCarly.

Haha, yes....but I mean "the others" from Game of Thrones. (I'm a book reader, not much of a show watcher, so I'm not sure if that line is used on the show. Sorry!)

And see, when I read "The Others" I immediately thought of "Lost." We've got The Others and the "other Others" and then the *other* other Others.

LOL, I'm actually watching Lost on Netflix right now! Not sure why the GOT Others sticks out more to me.

Who will finish their next novel first: Tyler or GRRM?

Sad to say, probably Tyler.

The only people I hear say 'sorry not sorry' are children and those who are immature. Why would Catelynn be sorry for her post? Because it might hurt Tyler's widdle feelings that his face is not in her "things I want to ride" photo? lol  Tyler is probably thanking Buddha and his lucky stars.

Tyler retweeted that. Fucking barf. How can people STILL think that? I kinda understand the ones who were fooled years ago by their "perfect" relationship but now?! Get some standards!!! Then again, someone who thinks Romeo and Juliet is the standard is pretty fucking dumb anyway. I always wonder if people who say that actually finished the tragedy.

edit: also, how sad that the original tweeter had that in her Facebook "memories" - shouldn't memories be your own life? Wtf?

Ps: I don't know why the formatting is weird in my post.

I would actually rather be Romeo and Juliet and be dead than be in a relationship like Catelyn and Tyler's.

Right?? Catelynn and Tyler depress the hell out of me. I sometimes find myself fast-forwarding through their scenes bc something about them just kinda grosses me out the past few seasons. IDK what it is, they just seem so basic and hell-bent on not changing or growing, despite all their opportunities. And they never go anywhere or do anything, theyre always just sitting around the house, talking about the same bullshit over and over and over and over again.

The fact that she allows her mother -- a woman who never protected her daughter from physical abuse and neglected every single need -- become the primary caregiver of her child shows the degree to which she is stunted: SEVERE.

And to think she spent the first 5 seasons talking about what a horrible mother her was and how perfect she and Tyler were and overcame all these odds in spite of how horrible their parents were. smh. I never bought it...now you see why.

If I read "me and my brother" one more time.  Ugh.

And of course he isn't qualified to write a novel.  However neither was that lady who started writing crappy Twilight fanfiction that turned into 3 horribly written blockbusters and seemingly no end to the crappy movies.   So, if you have an audience who will buy it and read it (and he does) then it doesn't matter if you can string two sentences together.

Whoa, way too much telling, not showing. That was painful (and I ready about 3 sentences. hard to say with his punctuation issues.)

Okay, I read more. He's writing as a girl, who's been molested? I'm sorry, but no. Just stop right there. As a girl who HAS been molested, I feel disgusted that he would try to make money off of trying to be salacious about something that happens daily to little girls. Something he knows NOTHING about. If he was molested, and wants to write about that, fine. But please don't try to put yourself in the place of a little girl. Just don't.

Also, is it me or does the tense change - past to present?

What's whiskey delusion? Is the whiskey deluded? Does the whiskey give the molester delusions? Who wants to read this????

I agree.  It's one thing to use your own trauma to tell a story.  It's another to take advantage of the trauma of others and then have no idea what you are actually talking about.

Sadly many people will read it.  Dr. Drew will tell Tyler how brave he is.  Blergh.

And don't forget his mother. At least it might get her off of Catelynn's back for awhile.

I can't even begin to say what is wrong with this "novel." What sucks is that because of who he is, he could will probably get some low-rank publisher (or self publish) and it will sell just like the other terrible TM books. He will declare it a success and that he is now an author. And actual people, with good work, will remain unread.

When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound...of sips

Because he has a voice, dammit! And people CARE!

Yech.

I couldn't get past the person "nodding his head no." Umm...

I'm an author. I work hard at the job. I just had my 21st book published last week. My first book came out back in 2003 so I have been at it for awhile. I work 60-70 hours a week at my job, between the writing and the marketing. It's a ton of work. I have also spent the past 20 years attending writing workshops, conventions, and retreats. I network with other authors and we talk shop and share tips with one another. I head a critique circle. I've cried over manuscripts, stressed myself into two bleeding ulcers, and spent sleepless nights over plots and characters. (I also made the New York Times bestsellers' list last year and currently support my family with my royalties, but it took me 11 years to get here.) It infuriates me to no end when someone comes along, blase and arrogant, assuming that they can just sit down and whip out a book because they have lots to say and there's nothing to it. It infuriates me MORE when it's someone like Tyler, who will undoubtedly produce crap, yet still see sizable sales because he already has a platform.

The thing about Tyler's "writing" is, he seems to be trying way too hard. He goes into all these descriptions in order to get the reader to get a feel for what is happening such as the part where he writes "the shadow of his feet danced across the floor." There is no need for all the descriptions and details that he goes into. I am no writer and have never attempted to write a book, but I have read plenty true crime stories and countless autobiographies. I am having a hard time putting into words what I want to post to describe what I think about Tyler's writing. Short and sweet, it sucks.

A good writer is conservative with words. They can relay mood, environment, and emotions with a few well-worded sentences.

My favorite author sort of took this idea to an extreme: never using any verb besides 'said' when his characters spoke. He figured, I suppose, that whatever they're saying and whatever he VERY economically described before and after, their speech should need almost no description at all. It's really effective. It keeps you from doing what my mom calls "word wielding." I'm not a published writer, but everything i've written for my own amusement, I tried to emulate the principle. I have to say it's challenging, but it's definitely true, as @mamadrama points out. Less is more with books, particularly fiction, let your reader's imagination do some of the work. Don't take that joy away from them,.

And fuck these people for being published 'authors.' Yeah, I will admit I'm a little jealous, but whatever, that doesn't change that they have nothing to say.

I thoroughly enjoy reading your posts more than anything the Bacterias have written. I'd rather read a book by you than any of these morons on this show.

It's maddening, isn't it? I've always dreamed of writing a book one day. I like to write, or I did when I was younger and had more time. I went to a performing arts magnet school; and, while I was actually a theater major, I entered a few of the creative writing contests and won. Just short stories. But I really enjoyed it. I have ideas for books that have been in my head for years, but I have 3 small kids that I homeschool and rarely have to time to myself. These fuckers can sit around all day, vomiting all over the typewriter, because they have nothing better to do. And their legion of delusional fans will eat it right up.

I agree with Great Kazu. Your posts are the highlight of these boards. Skeevy Tyler has nothing on you!

Why thank you, you weren't getting rid of me anyway :). I console myself by realizing that they're probably not writing a lot of what they're credited with (so far, no way anyone's ghost writing Tyler's terrible shit), and that they didn't have to go TRY to get a book published. Someone called them and asked them to sit for interviews, then that person cobbled together a book from their ramblings. Then again, Matt also has a book published, which might officially kill print media once and for all :).

If you ever have something you think might be publishable, send me a note. I will help however I can-and that is not an offer I toss around carelessly.
