Exactly. I don't hold anything against Red Scarf Guy.

Okay, but I thought we were talking about whether or not he seemed like a reality tv wannabe? And people were using his other attempt as proof and then it was asked if Bethenny's many attempts meant she was a reality tv famewhore and people responded yes it did. I'm just not sure what the porn scene has to do with reality tv?

If red scarf was telling the truth then he did go to speed dating to meet up with Bethenny like he said on national tv.

All the HWs lie.

It's been my experience that people remove their scarf when they're going to eat or drink because it gets in the way, especially the way RSG had it looped.  It's easy to stuff the scarf into the sleeve of your coat so it doesn't get lost.

It's called flirting, especially when the other person offers you a bj. I don't think he really cared who was at this event, he was there to help out his friend. After all, he already went out with Bethenny once before and he already had her phone number, so need to seek her out at any 1 event, just call her.

I disagree, most people I know, leave their scarves on when out and about in the cold/winter because they can get lost very easily.

Yes they have, you're just not remembering.

No, neither LisaV or Kyle have asserted that they only tell the truth, that they never, ever lie, that was Brandi and Bethenny in this show.

LOL just asked mr bagger what he thought of the quote above without reading the name. He said the guy sounds bitter. If you’re not interested in a woman you just say so, you do not speak ill of her, “The more I got to know her, the less interesting and attractive she became.”

i thought he sounded like a douche

So, he doesn't think the guy had a right to defend himself after being trashed on national TV. You did explain how Bethenny trashed him didn't you, that she read old messages from him claiming they were current, that she basically called him a stalker because I'm not sure what guy would willingly go along with that had he been the recipient of said treatment on national TV. IMO, Bethenny was the one that sounded bitter, bitter that Carole had a good time with the guy. LOL

I may be misremembering but someone upthread said this was not his first exposure to reality tv and if he doesn’t want the attention, why go public? Why give these “lies” more life? IRL if someone says something about me, someone who is in the periphery of my existence I give it no credence. I don’t even think of it again.

however, here is this red scarf guy who was merely doing a favor for a friend and appearing on tv, oh making sure he had interaction with the housewives, he wasn’t just filler for the party making a public statement. He’s my BEC if he doesn’t want some sort of notoriety he would have laughed and moved it along.

Well, his first exposer to reality TV didn't go anywhere, it didn't even get to the production/film stage. And, it was a show about his business, not his personal life, so it's not quite the same type of reality TV. You weren't lied about on national TV though, so that  may change your stance if it ever happens to you, especially when the press/public start asking you questions/calling you names while demonizing you on SM based on said lies.

I mean, certainly her being in that movie is further proof that Bethenny was desperate to be famous, but I don't think anyone could dispute that. I don't care at all about her doing the scene, but obviously the woman wanted to be famous.

And I certainly think Red Scarf wants to be on reality TV.  It doesn't make him a bad person otherwise. I mean, I think he's a douche, but probably not a bad person. Again, I'm just in favor of whatever moves Carole on from Adam, including Red Scarf.

Yes -- or as he said himself:

briankrauss@pattymccabe Normally I would never discuss or share my personal dialogues. This situation though fell outside my norm when B went on national television and outright lied stating that after the event I began calling her incessantly. 100% False. my intent on showing Mr Bagger (a true gentleman btw) the quote was justvto getvhis reaction just based on that quote. Different things catch people’s attention and that quote caught mine.

All anyone outside his immediate circle knew him as or about him was that he was the red scarf guy. If he wasn’t “interested” in being “known” he would have kept his trap shut and none of us would be talking much about him. Some of us would be attacking Bethenny for trying to marginalize Rsg’s attraction to carol and some of us would be busy defending her but certainly none of us would have it”known” his name.

Exposing himself further when these two episodes might have been the end of his notoriety furthers my belief that he wanrs in reality. If notvwith Bethenny, not Ramona then there’s is always Carole.

People started "googling" him as soon as the episode ended and then started contacting him via twitter/IG.  I'm willing to bet that he told his close friends and his 2 kids that he would be on that episode as most people would. It had to be a shock for him to see/hear what Bethenny said about him on national TV, especially since there was no need for her to do that other than to set Carole up so she could take Carole down/hurt/humiliate her. IMO, Bethenny intentionally lied about him to Sonja/Luann in the SUV so that she could go after Carole, once again, because Carole went out with him and Bethenny wanted him for herself.

I'll be perfectly frank with you - it has nothing to do with Bethenny or the texts that I still don't get a big deal about. Btw - I think any man who spends time with Bethenny and then is like whoa, whoa, no thank you ma'am, you are literally insane is well within his rights and probably a rational human being who knows when to cut and run.

I am literally calling him a douche based on my impression of him in the episode and on Instagram. After 20 years of meeting men in Manhattan, he dings my douche radar. Hard. I'm okay with coming off as really shallow here. I've got an NYC douche radar and I'm not afraid to use it.

She signed the release without realizing they could do as they pleased with anything that came out her mouth, with her image with anything that took place as a result of her appearance on the show.

Except the texts she read were from 5 month earlier, well before he signed a release with Bravo/production (not Bethenny). How was he to know that 5 months later they would see each other again at a Bravo speed dating event and that she would lie about those long forgotten texts on national TV? Why is it ok for Bethenny to lie about him or anyone else just to hurt someone else (in this case Carole)? The guy didn't say anything hasty to her and he still hasn't been nasty. All he did was clarify what the truth was by showing the messages between them after the speed dating event, he didn't call her names or attack her, he posted the messages from her and also from him. Bethenny left out the messages she sent to him 5 months earlier but he at least showed bot sides. Bethenny was in the wrong, not Brian.

I’ve never claimed he doesn’t have the right. I’ve been saying that he made it into a bigger “story.” I’m saying he made it in to a bigger story because he wants the fame that good or bad attention brings. I’m saying by making a public statement he gave it all too much life.

Did she really trash him? When did Bethenny’s opinion on anyone start to really matter? Or for that matter does any Z rated celebrity opinion really matter? I’ve yet to really comment on her behavior and since it seems that I can come off as defending what she did I’m not. What she did is really a “pu**y” move as my brothers would say. He didn’t like you enough to take you out again so he must be a creep? If you took Bethenny out of the equation the guy would still be a jack ass claiming to be a private person, claiming that if it wasn’t for the attrocities committed against him he would be quiet. I cry bullsh*t. Even if Bethenny hadn’t tried to make him look like a creeper he’s still be an idiot. Anyone trolling the hosuewives like Harry and Tom has to be an idiot. Again my opinion.

You and I are never going to agree on this. Bethenny was an ass that decided to punish this guy because he went out on a date with Carole instead of her. He felt he needed to set the record straight and I don't blame him. Oh, and he wasn't trolling the HWs, let alone acting like Tom or Harry. IMO

So, I am stepping out of this conversation before the mods tell us we are beating a dead horse! LOL Have a great night and keep the hubby happy by allowing him to stay in the dark about these HW banshees! LOL

Well...You guys are on fire tonight.

My impression of RSG was, judging from the texts, that Beth was interested in this guy.  Heck, he is good looking.  And it seems that they did see each other at some point.  I think Beth and RSG were flirting with each other at the speed dating.  And they were interacting afterward by text.  Beth did lie about certain things.  And, she only read his texts, not her responses.  She screwed up on this one.

RSG has the right to defend himself and I think that's what he was doing by his recent response to the episode.  Whoa Beth, there's more to this story than what you're telling.  IIRC, it was just a few days previously that they saw each other in Miami before the speed dating event.  The date of all the texts were early in February (I'm thinking the 1st and then the speed dating was the fourth?  Sorry I'm to lazy to go back and double check.)

In the end, Beth had no reason to bring up this guy's texts in the car.  Something was bugging her about him.  Did she know he went out with Carole?  I don't know but Beth had a reason.  She wanted to get out something because she was pissed.  That's what she does.  I think it backfired.

How?

I mean, I am asking this seriously. How has this *backfired* to where Bethenny sees any negative effect? Does anyone not in this particular forum even care? It's a minor event on a reality tv show. What impact has occurred due to this *backfire*? There's like... one news article where Bethenny is the bad guy and.... Help me out, where is Bethenny seeing the consequences? No one really seems to care.

The way I understood the text history was that the speed dating event happened January 31, and Bethenny texted him the next morning on February 1. They had text exchanges from then until February 4 trying to pin down when they would be in the same city at the same time to meet up.

Whenever they had lunch happened a month or several months prior to the speed dating event.

According to the texts he shared, Bethenny did know that he went out with Carole when she was talking about him to Luann/Sonja in the car.

Wow. Who has called this man an innocent who fell in accidentally with vipers? Lol. This is a lot.

Bethenny got caught out in lies--and this isn't the first time--so why not just say, as someone above said, that the truth is somewhere in between? He showed interest after they matched on an app, but it clearly didn't go anywhere after that. However, after the speed dating, Bethenny showed interest in him but tried to play like he was a nuisance. Bethenny, too, has saved texts, which is clear since she was reading them right there on the show lol, but that's not odd, I suppose? That he has texts to reference (like a lot of people do, mind you) is odd?

This is sooooo much. All because this dude might've had a bit more interest in Carole over Bethenny? I'm cracking up right now.

I know! (Just catching up!) HE’S the bad guy because he has text proof of Bethenny being contradicted in her assessment of who is chasing whom? Lol lol why are people mad at him that his saved proof? It’s funny how far people go to protect their perspective...

I wish I were repsonding to this on my iPhone lol. I'd use the eyeball emoji because, wooo, boy!, does the Red Scarf Baron give a different idea than what happened. He says that the texts Bethenny was reading were from when they first met in Miami, and he pointed out something I noticed in the episode: she only mentioned his texts and not her responses. Red Scarf Baron even came with receipts!

Per Red Scarf Baron:

These texts came the next morning after the speed dating event. Bethenny claims that he was after her and that she had no interest, yet she hit him up to set up a date.

Exactly how did the texts he shared show that?

Asking for a friend.....

When Bethenny says "I'm gonna steer clear" does she mean:

A) I will refrain from commenting on whether or not Carole is nice and interesting?

B) Oh, you like Carole? Okay, I'm going to steer clear of you then, RSG? (I thought you were interested in me, but it seems you are casting a wider net.)

C) Something else?

At first, I read it as option A. In rereading, I'm now wondering if it was actually B.

I should read the whole thread before commenting, but reading those texts just seem to solidify that Beth had more than a passing interest in Brian.  And yes, he has a right to defend himself when she's busting on him on TV for fux sake!

I think option B.

Going back to the clip of the women arriving in Colombia, after Bethenny starts reading the texts, particularly the part about Ramona abandoning her Uber, she lies to the ladies that she then responded to Brian's text (that particular portion) about how Ramona isn't a good look so she's going to steer clear. So, I would deduce that once Bethenny actually read Brian's "nice and interesting" remark about Carole, she realized that he was actually interested (confirming her previous comment) and decided to back off.

Especially given how Bethenny and Brian were playing a lot of text tag that didn't seem to go anywhere at that point only to learn that he found Carole nice and interesting, I guess Bethenny realized it was best to cut and run.
