Even Luke was whitewashed in the end over killing baby Jake.This is a major problem with the show, imo. Almost everyone is bad or crazy or stupid and no one suffers for it. It doesn't reflect RL at all. If I moved to a city like PC and saw these people and the inept PCPD I'd pack my family up and move right back out. Some people think this makes for compelling tv. I don't. I guess that's why I don't have any favorites, for me there's no one to root for. He's earned more in the last 20+ years of messing up my soap than most people on the planet will earn in a lifetime of working. If he and his producer wife haven't saved enough already, then his kids will have to do what so many others do, and earn scholarships and take out student loans. I'm not saying this angrily (tone is so difficult to convey here!), but wearily. It was a breath of fresh air when Sonny was not the focus for about half a minute, and the prospect of him, Carly, and Jason eating this show again makes me sad and frustrated. Although if Sloane getting killed off is true then maybe they will be a couple because I'm not sure who Anna could be with at this point.I read an interview of TR where he spoke about how he and TG were given a basic outline of what needed to be conveyed in their dialogue (under Monty I believe) but they ad-libbed the rest. According to rumors RC had all the lines written including what expressions and actions the actors should use. That must be stifling to someone like TR and probably explains why I enjoyed the show so much more back then. I admit I love(d) Scrubs, but I knew once Robin was gone that Patrick staying would lead to nothing good for the character. And I was right. Maybe it is wrong to have wished him gone, but considering what has happened since, and knowing other pairings have had an actor exit after or with the other half, I don't think it was such a mean request.
