I think the BGDC was going to be a real thing when MBFFL first started, just like the premise of the show was that a fat woman who was working on getting healthy shouldn't let her weight stop her from doing stuff. Both BGDC & the premise got lost when Twit got so caught up in the celebrity of being a celebrity. But she's no Kardashian or Hilton. So I think a lot of her day is spent in a depressed, possibly alcoholic, fog of wishful thinking that she's gonna be a star someday.

So, so, so....Whit isn't going to be on the radio anymore?  What happened with ROY?  What happened with her crush on Buddy?  What happened with her jealous feelings toward Heather?  What about the Greensboro Grasshoppers?  Will the trainer?  Alistair the pig?  Are we never to know about this cast of miscreants and their ends?  

Whitney is a puzzling person.  On one hand, although I snark like it's my job (sometimes while AT my job), I find it hard to hate Whitney.  She's used her limited means and created a whole world of moneymaking possibilities.  On the other hand, we are witnessing MBFFL's version of "Before the 90 days"...in that this is the "Before my 600 lb life".  It is shocking to see her grow exponentially every season.  She must be uncomfortable every moment of her life.  It's obvious that the life of one obese woman means nothing in the grand scheme of things, but she is perpetuating a falsity that she is happy, that a person at her size can be healthy.  That's not how the human body works.  It's just not.  Standing in place winds her. It's irresponsible.

Her friend (I forget her name)....I am so freaking happy for her.  Go get them fresh buns, girl!  I think the tide is turning with that friendship.  She bristled when she said she was going to take the "class" away from Todd.  That's her cousin, Whit.  She don't think you're cute.

Most of the time, taxes are included in the mortgage, and the mortgage company pays them.  Does this mean that Glenn actually paid CASH for it for her?

It's an official doc, so yes. It's possible the phone # is no longer accurate & the new number not updated into the system  yet. But this is a PROPERTY tax list; so, of course, the address is correct.

ETA: It occurred to me these docs usually don't include a phone #, so I took another look. There's no phone # attached to Twit's account.

Interesting.  The way we do it, 1/12 of the annual taxes is added to the monthly mortgage payment.  It goes into an escrow account, and the mortgage company pays it from that account.  So WE are responsible, but the mortgage company acts as our agent.  It also ensures that the mortgage company knows the taxes are being paid . . . kind of like a car financing company wants a little protection and stays on the title until it's paid off so they're notified if the insurance lapses.

Frankly, I believe it is entirely reasonable for someone as delusional as Twit is about her abilities & dance career future to have wasted a ton of extra money on expensive flooring she will not -- and cannot -- ever use. Ya know, I think I was having a Sr Moment & you are right. I don't have a mortgage now, so I pay property taxes. But now that I think about it, I think you are right. I think the mortgage co. paid the taxes when I lived in San Jose.

If she didn't pay cash for the house the taxes are probably in escrow which means someone is sitting on millions and millions of dollars of money in escrow earning interest on it. They probably paid the taxes at the last minute to maximize interest on the money they were sitting on and the tax department is backlogged on processing all the last minute tax payments between escrow payments and people just procrastinating.

I feel comfortable believing Whit is pulling down enough money from the show to cover the payment on the house, it's a normal middle class house. I believe she is making $60k a year from her show which is more than enough to afford that house.

The nitWhits apparently thing Whit is raking it in, a lot of people here seem to think she is making nothing or close to it. It's been renewed enough times to believe that it is probably a somewhat profitable show, not so much that Whit has much if any leverage in negotiations but enough that they don't want her to walk for the mid 5 figure 9-5 she is probably qualified for as a warm body with a college degree in this job market.

I assume she is pulling in at least $100k a year, I doubt much more but I would expect at least that.

Sorry, I phrased that wrong, I believe at a minimum she is making enough money to afford that incredibly average middle class house for someone in their 30s with a college degree. I doubt she is making much more than the very low 6 digits but I'm guessing she is making on the high end of the income scale for someone with her qualifications at her age in a professional setting.

I agree with this assessment. I wouldn't imagine she's considered an employee of TLC, so income taxes and insurance are a bear. (Not the boo-bear kind either!) She should be paying 40-45% income taxes.

In my opinion, she will have another bout with reality TV because, she’s going to end up on my 600 pound life and I mean that in all seriousness. Each season she’s exponentially bigger. Sooner or later, she is going to be bedbound if she keeps going. At that point, she will need the money and TLC will already have the “talent” to cast.

There was a Mirabella article about her. On her FB page, she gleefully talked about the article, but was unhappy that she felt she had been misquoted: the writer stated she was trying to lose weight. Twit told the Nit-Whits that was not true.

That was the last straw for me, so I wrote a comment, something on the order of how dangerous it was to tell vulnerable fans that she was healthy without weight loss.

Twit blew up & responded to my comment.Not only did she out herself as a lurker here, she also indicated she knew who some of us were by our handles, including me.

Writerchick 57, you are right on point.  There was so much denial in this episode and in many episodes. If she was really on that tour, her being miserable had little to do with her mother and missing her friends.   She was physically unable, and if she is not blind, she had to feel out of place in the company of three prime physical specimens. That’s just a human response. It’s not about loving yourself, it’s about being realistic. There is chubby and there is morbidly obese and she is the latter.
