Here's what I don't get about weight issues...why do any of them have an issue?  If they work out as much as they say they do (which I believe), then how poorly must they be eating?  When I was super into running, I was a few pounds above DCC weight, but my eating habits were, to be blunt, crap, as in overloaded with junk food.  Eating right probably would have put me at (perhaps below with some wishful thinking LOL) DCC weight, so I don't understand how some seem unable to do so.

Medications can cause weight gain. In Season Five, Meagan Sharp was dealing with medical issues causing her to take medications leading to weight gain. No idea if it affected her being to work out less. I know when I was put on a blood pressure med when I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in 2003 I ended up gaining about fifteen pounds in one month. Jordan Ketchum said she was hypothyroid when she was on the team for one year, and yes hypothyroidism can lead to weight gain and can make it hard to loose weight. I often wonder if the girls are over exercising. I can understand them needing to exercise in order to stay in shape for the uniform and swimsuit calendar shoot, but your body can only take so much. Plus having a crazy schedule can lead people to wanting to eat out more instead of cooking something healthy.  They are also under a lot of stress, and stress can lead to losing weight or in some cases, can cause weight gain and/or bad eating habits.

I think it's because they work out so much and eat very little.  Their bodies are trying to hold onto as many calories as possible.  Then to get ready for the calendar shoot, they add a lot of juices to their diet.  When they get back, they start eating carbs again and the body puffs up.  Then they have auditions where they look heavier.

I wonder if the girls have physicals before trying out for the squad. I think I read someplace on the Ultimate Cheerleaders website where one squad were requiring girls to have a note from a doctor saying it was okay for them to try out for the squad. Cannot remember if it was the same rule for vets trying out again and if it was a NFL or NBA squad. What would a DCC or TC Candidate do if a doctor said to them their diet was bad due to working out too much and not enough calorie. Would they turn to diet pills or keep doing the work outs and calorie count risking their health to be a DCC.

Kelsey started a new twitter  (she still has her DCC twiter also).  Maybe she is going to start a fashion or beauty line.  I doubt they can do that on their dcc twitters.

Okay...Looks like a opening to a soft porn movie or a mild version of Girls Gone Wild.

I’ll probably be in the minority again but I think they did a fantastic job with the choreography they were given. It’s supposed to be sexy and I don’t think many girls on the team could have executed that as well.

I think she was a Dallas Maverick Dancer for one or two years, but I am not sure. I can remember this, but I cannot remember what I need to pick up at the store, to take my calcium and vitamin D supplements or to do my physical therapy home exercises. Ha!

I think she tried out for DCC a few years ago and didn't make so she tried out for Mavs and made it.  Then after being on Mavs a year she tried out for DCC again and didn't make it so she tried out for Ice Angels.

I'm not a fan of that style of choreo myself, but Kerya is the weakest out of the three.  Madeline looks like she is wearing her mom's shoes and isn't comfortable in them. But Cersten looks good in both clips.

That's about right.  She was a DMD for 2 seasons and a Texas Star Dancer for 1 or 2 years prior to that. I think she still might be on USA cheerleaders.

Yeah she was definitely marking. I don't think she was trying.

It's very hard to hear/understand what Amy's saying in the podcast, but it sounded like she said 'almost all of the 3rd year girls are retiring'...it's around (-49.20)

I can't make out what she says when she holds up 2 fingers, but the expression on Alexis' face is definitely sadness.  Can anyone else make out what she says?

I have not watch the podcast yet. KaShara is a three year vet and is trying out again. The only three year vets I can think of is KaShara, Robin, Simone, Amy, Chantel and Stephanie. I would like to see Amy and Robin to come back for another year. The other three I would not be sad if they decide not to try out again.

I am thinking Stephanie is leaving due to being called out for weight this season. Simone may be leaving because she is engaged. Amy is engaged, but her wedding is not for another two years. No idea about why Robin would want to leave unless it is due to a new career. No idea why Chantel would want to leave either. Going to be interesting at audition time especially since they are moving the swimsuit calendar shoot to after auditions. Maybe they were tired of having vets go on the shoot and ended up being cut at finals. I also wonder if a vet said she was going to retire, but she decided she wanted to try out again. Would she be allowed to go on the shoot even if the shoot even if the shoot is after auditions?

Interested to see where they’ll fix swimsuit in during TC, (I guess during those rookie weeks?) Makes more sense now that vets are getting cut more often during auditions.

I think someone said almost all the rookies are trying out again on one of the podcast. Kalyssa and Alexandra left, so this leaves two rookie spots open.

Here are the dates for tryouts. I notice the date for first TC Meeting is gone. I think the swimsuit calendar shoot could be between the end of finals and the first meeting.

Registration Deadline: May 2, 2018
Preliminaries: May 5, 2018
Semi-finals: May 6, 2018
Interviews: May 11, 2018
Finals: May 12, 2018

Amy said the number of girls trying out again is around 20ish, so up to sixteen girls could be retiring. Shannon did say he was in the locker room with Kelli and two DCCs. One was Maggie, and the other DCC said she is not trying out again also, but he would not say who it was.

It would have to be an upper veteran. Shannon doesn’t usually know too much/care too much about the newer girls

Amy confirmed only 2 of the three year vets are returning, and as we know she is returning alongside KaShara that means you can add Bess, Simone, Robyn, Chantel and Stephanie to your list of retiring girls.

I would also imagine Shannon was talking about either Lacey or Jinelle regarding the girl who told him she was leaving.

My Group Leader predictions:

If Jinelle and Lacey both returned:

First leaders- Lacey, Jinelle, KaShara, Amy

Second leaders- Heather O, Tasha, Cersten, Tess

If Jinelle and Lacey both retired:

First leaders- KaShara, Amy, Heather O, Cersten

Second leaders- Tasha, Tess, Kelli, Madeline

Wow...it's a bit sad that 5 three year vets are retiring! I'm mostly surprised about Robin! I will miss having them on the team but happy for Amy and KaShara that they can continue to represent their rookie class as strong leaders and the only two returning from season 10's rookies! I loved that rookie class! I wonder how many of the returning vets will be cut at finals! It's all so exciting lol!

I am also shocked by Robin. I had her down as future point and GL. She must have a job offer or some other exciting new venture to make her leave the team.

With this many upper vets leaving I wouldn't be surprised if no vets get cut at finals, unless there is an extreme amount of rookie talent

I predict cuts will be made even with many upper vets leaving. Season 6 had 17 rookies, and Season 7 had five one year vets cut at finals and ended up with 19 rookies. If up to sixteen vets end up leaving the team, it is going to be interesting because once again Kelli and Judy will have to depend more on their two and one year vets. To be honest about it, I think the last two rookie classes have left a lot to be desired and do not have a lot of strong girls to make up for the vets who have been leaving the last few years.

While many of the best dancers IMO were already gone from the 3 years group (Megan C, Amy T, Holly, Claire), it’s interesting that only 2 out of what was a pretty large rookie class will make it to the 4th year. Now, I’m not shocked. I actually think I mentioned a while ago that I wouldn’t be surprised to see a large exodus of 3 year girls because many of them seem to getting into their mid-20s, when the need to transition into a long term career starts to become necessary.

Maybe Lacey will return. After Erica and Holly’s departures, i would’ve said Jenna, Cersten, Lacey, Robin, Kashara were the top dancers/performers with Stephanie, Maggie, and Kelli being the next tier. The bulk of that group is leaving after they already lost a really strong group of dancers (that weren’t replaced by rookies) last season.

I'm not surprised to see a lot of girls go, and I bet a good chunk of the ones that are leaving are doing so because of the drama over the past year.  The girls probably didn't sign up for that and just waited until their contracts were up before saying "See ya later, suckers!"  Look at the past year: three girls who were vets or almost vets cut at auditions (Raylee, Allie and Heather H); Erica pretty much vanishing from the show and the field then "retiring", Holly and Jenna getting into a LOT of trouble with Holly being jettisoned in the middle of things and Jenna being reprimanded and disciplined to a degree who then decides to retire, Alexandria leaving during pre-season, Milan leaving with three (?) games left in the season, and Kalyssa leaving with only a few months left in her contract.  Even if you don't count the three girls who were cut, having 5 girls leave during the year is NOT good.

I really hope that this type of exodus, both during the year and afterwards, will REALLY get Judy and Kelli thinking about things, including implementing discipline that's consistent across the boards as well as rewards, bringing in girls that are good at the things the DCC need both for now and the future and can shape up to be great without bringing in the marginal girls or the ones that tug on heartstrings (Amy Simone, Christina, etc.), and a WHOLE lot of other things, then be able to rebuild.  It's likely going to take a few years to get back to having an amazing squad and may include jettisoning the television show (painful as it is for me to admit).  Didn't we hear that a lot of amazing girls are NOT auditioning because of the show?  I know most of the girls who can't dance, the ones who are out of shape (and wouldn't be able to get there in two-three months), and the rest have moved on because they run the risk of being mocked and laughed at on national television.

I wonder if this is the main reason why they decided to move the calendar shoot until auditions were over. Last year they had three vets cut at finals, two vets left during TC, one came close to being cut during TC, and one vet who left during the regular season. Six girls who went on the shoot who left or were cut. Maybe Kelli, Judy and Charlotte said enough with the drama and decided only vets who made it to TC would be allowed to go on the shoot. Three year vet Amy did say the End of the Year Banquet will be at the end of April. I also wonder if the vets who are trying out again have been given strict warnings to get their act  together or face getting cut at finals.

What gets filmed by CMT stays around for a very, very long time. I am sure when Trisha Trevino said in her interview she would wash her uniform and keep it clean, that was not a moment she was proud of. Also frizzy haired Julie Keveleign (I know I have that spelled wrong), probably wants to die a little bit when the camera zooms in on her bike shorts in Season 3.

Wasn't she the one who traveled with her husband in the RV and stopped in Dallas so she decided to audition? I remember she didn't have on any kind of audition type outfit.

She even admits in the comments she isn't one...but it's the job she was hired to? what does that even mean exactly? i would be TICKED if I was a mom and took my child in, got treated by her saying 'i'm the pediatric nurse' and finding out she doesn't have the degree...!! YIKES.
