Galileo908 January 16, 2017 Share January 16, 2017 So...yeah. Take that, Dan Cortese. Peter with a drone was a great thing. And then it got weird. I also liked Peter taking Bart Simpson's advice by going to bread. I love that Adam West goes swimming in his suit. So...Gronk is a dumb jerk. You didn't need to tell me that. At least he was a great sport about it. Gronk snapping at Peter in the cutaway was a great bit, though. Roided-out bees were weird. I was expecting the Queen to be equally weird but, no. Ubiquitous January 16, 2017 Share January 16, 2017 I wasn't impressed by this ep. It probably didn't help that I don't follow sports at all. OK, I did laugh at the Dan Cortese bit and Gronk invading Peter's cutaway. Link to comment
JyDanzig January 16, 2017 Share January 16, 2017 They really nailed it with that "Marley & Me" cutaway, that is exactly what that movie is. Also, so many Gronkowski's listed in the end credits! Interesting that that was apparently the real dad and brothers doing those voices. 1 Link to comment
ganesh January 16, 2017 Share January 16, 2017 (edited) Was that house always there? I actually thought this was funny. All the cutaways were good especially Y2K. I don't really think one needed to know who Gronk was beyond a famous player on the Patriots. Peter suggesting that Gronk would rub the cool ranch powder on his balls somehow set me off cracking up. I think it was the line reading. Then Lois drooling over Edelman. Gronk irl has that goofy party boy face, but I don't think he's that dumb, so good for him for playing it up. People from the University of Arizona believing in leprauchans is hilariously random. Same thing with "civil war cannon". The bee plot (get it!!!!) was good too. I have a colleague who raises bees and the honey is unreal. Edited January 16, 2017 by ganesh Link to comment
ShadowSixx January 16, 2017 Share January 16, 2017 How Lois said that Peter is just going to give Gronk powder had me laughing. IDK why but Gronk throwing the bus at Peter made me chuckle. I did like Peter & the drone until the eagle thing, which I found to be unnecessary. When they were fighting Gronk out of all of them I thought at least Joe would have a shot of getting a few shots in. He's muscular and knows how to fight and Peter has shown to be a capable fighter with his fights with the Chicken, Brian, and the terrorists in the last episode. I really thought that Brian was gonna be a douche with the honey selling. I seriously thought that he was gonna try and take it over or try to overwork Stewie. Brian was acting like a douche when Stewie asked him to be the salesman in practicing on selling the honey. Brian says it's honey, it says it right there on the sign. If someone tried selling something to me like that, I wouldn't even bother. It was a good episode and bonus was that it didn't have a lot of cutaways. Link to comment
Chiisai January 17, 2017 Share January 17, 2017 This reminded me of the King of the Hill episode "New Cowboy on the Block", but without steroid bees. :) Link to comment
ShadowSixx January 17, 2017 Share January 17, 2017 It almost sounded like Lois was about over Peter in that bread cutaway. Carrie actually has recorded her voice for two more appearances. I'm actually surprised that Peter still works at the brewery. Much like Homer, it can be several episodes in which he can travel anywhere and do stuff for several days and then once in a while an episode has him almost like "Oh Yeah, That's right. I have a job "here"." I'm surprised both him and Homer have yet to be fired for not showing up at work most of the time. Link to comment
Galileo908 February 13, 2017 Share February 13, 2017 I really liked the dumb podcast. I wish it went that Cleveland's ramblings became really popular, but then we had to see everyone as DJs. At least their 14 hour song sounded funny. A techno mashup of random quotes was something I thought this show would've done by now. I did like all the deaf gags, though. So Meg got an edgy haircut and no one wanted any part of that. I actually like that. Link to comment

Galileo908 February 20, 2017 Share February 20, 2017 Remember last week when the guys became DJs? Or that time when the guys were a rock band? Or that time when Peter and Quagmire played guitar? Of course Brian liked being around Carter's lifestyle. I'll admit I laughed quite a few times in this episode. The whole scene where the guys try to get Joe in the booth slayed me. The way the two plots wrapped up definitely reminded me of old school Family Guy, so that was a plus for me. Link to comment

Galileo908 March 6, 2017 Share March 6, 2017 "Archers?" "Yeah?" "Oh right, he's that guy, too." I'm a sucker for casting gags, and gags about the Queen. I don't really agree with the premise of the show. People who want to have casual sex aren't passing along diseases. Quagmire has had a ton of casual sex on the show. So they're saying don't hook up with women over the phone, but it's ok to randomly hook up in a bar? There's no difference. Edited March 6, 2017 by ganesh Link to comment

Casual sex can come with a host of issues, increased chances of STD's especially if like Quagmire it's unprotected sex. 1 Link to comment

Yeah, but the show was implying imo that people on Tinder are disease riddled, and that's really not the case. Link to comment
Utpe March 7, 2017 Share March 7, 2017 I've tried Tinder before in the past. It doesn't work as easily as depicted in this episode. You can meet genuinely nice people through the app. Yes, I'm sure a majority of men use it primarily for casual encounters. They ruin it for the rest of us. 1 Link to comment

Well Quagmire is on Tinder... and is disease ridden which goes to show that at least some people on Tinder will be disease ridden. Considering dating apps are frequently used as hook up apps and precautions can be haphazardly applied depending on the person. Diseases and infections can be spread rapidly if not used in moderation. Link to comment
xander874 March 7, 2017 Share March 7, 2017 I think my issue is that Quagmire would not have any idea what Tinder was. I realize Glenn is not a 20-something, but I'm in my 40s and know about it. Surely he has been using the Internet to hookup? It just seemed dated a bit. Link to comment

Some people. I got the impression the show was slandering anyone on Tinder. I was more referring to the woman that showed up at his house when the guys were there. She looked more worn out and beat up than him. 3 hours ago, wayne67 said: Considering dating apps are frequently used as hook up apps and precautions can be haphazardly applied depending on the person. My point is the show went right to a certain kind of person who uses dating apps and seemed to imply that being sexually active = empty worn out people, and that's just not the case overall. Yes, there's sketchy people on Tinder. There's also the same people trolling bars and clubs looking for the same thing. I just find it a largely narrow minded, outdated, and frankly puritanical pov. Online dating has been around for a long time now. It's a weak plot. 1 hour ago, xander874 said: I think my issue is that Quagmire would not have any idea what Tinder was. The only thing I would say is that Quagmire is like 60-something, and he's been hooking up forever, so maybe he just stuck with his tried and true methods. I still find it hard to believe he wouldn't have heard of it in passing. The flight attendants probably use it to hook up on layovers. I guess this is just one of those "sitcom" plots. I don't watch the show for social commentary, but this always bothers me. Edited March 7, 2017 by ganesh Link to comment

Galileo908 March 27, 2017 Share March 27, 2017 Like Peter, I can't say no to Baby Wade Boggs. I liked Peter fulfilling his dream of playing in Fenway...at the expense of a base coach dying of a heart attack. At least Lois wasn't a colossal bitch in this one, Peter was an ass but breaking her leg was an accident.
