I've worked in healthcare and hospice for awhile and I was also there when my sister-in-law's sister was dying of cancer. I've seen the dying person tell their spouse to move on and encourage them. I had one patient who actually set up dates for their spouse. My SIL's sister's husband (geez) actually married his wife's dietitian about 6 months after his wife died. Some people in the family thought it was inappropriate but i just reminded them that we don't know what was said when she was dying. It is the same thing with Carole. We weren't there. We know what was written in the memoir but even those aren't always completely factual. Several writers of memoirs will tell you that they sometimes fudge the truth to either tell an emotional truth or to make a better story. Some authors even state that a memoir is basically a fictionalized account of life. 9 hours ago, ButterQueen said: I'm an idiot too. Never ever heard of lavender in ice cream. It wasn't a weekly or monthly food diary, it was an average menu that she had on one day a year ago. And the whole point of that was to analyze how healthy the celebrity in the piece ate. Carole did good on some points and not so good on other points. Glad to know I wasn't the only one that cringed at cilantro in tabbouleh! Going back to to the whole Carole debacle... I do believe that she has shown that she can produce good, solid work. Depending on the station, she might have done the majority of the writing for the pieces she produced. I don't think that discounts though the ability of Carole to write her own books. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/58545-s09e11-a-countess-no-more/page/20/#findComment-3394538
BBHN June 22, 2017 Share June 22, 2017 (edited) Quote She is adventurous enough to know her way around a pair of chopsticks Not the hardest tools to use... Quote However, she didn't have a deadline for writing news scripts, because she wasn't a reporter. So her awards for news reporting dont necessarily prove her ability to write to meet a deadline. But she must have had some deadlines, in order to get the work out on time and in a quality manner. Quote I watched it quickly so there could be more, but the one I caught was the classic one you see a lot - the reaction shot. Lu is wearing her jacket and saying something. They show Kristen's face for a reaction and it looks like she is dubious to whatever Lu just said, but you see a small part of Lu and suddenly she isn't wearing the jacket she was wearing 1 second before, so Kristen's face isn't in reaction to what Lu just said. Then Heather responds to what Lu just said and they cut to Lu, and suddenly Lu has her jacket on again. It looks like one long train of thought conversation but it is not. I never trust a reaction shot unless they are in the same frame. Yup. And then in an instant, Lu's jacket is off for good, which it took her half a second to do? lol Editing at it's best. Jextella June 23, 2017 Share June 23, 2017 When Tom said he felt like a dog on a leash when referring to his wedding band he said enough. I'm willing to forgive people for past discretions if there is true awareness and remorse. Especially at a certain age where lots of stuff just doesn't matter the way it did in younger years. However, this went to far. I'm not so concerned about cheating issues but rather his attitude. LuAnne knew she married a guy who has a propensity for cheating. The decision to move forward with the marriage was made by two consenting adults - ready to forgive and change. If Tom strays, they can cross that bridge when they get to to it. If, however, Tom feels as if he's on a leash, there is no partnership going on here. One dominates (whether real or imagined) and the other has to acquiesce. Humans don't like to be controlled/told what to do. Free will is what separates us from rocks. Acting out is a normal response to too much control. This one little line just doesn't bode well for this couple. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/58545-s09e11-a-countess-no-more/page/20/#findComment-3398367

I thought the footage of Tom and Luann's was plenty. We had Dorinda sharing photos with Ramona, Carole and Bethenny having their marriage as center stage in their lunch conversation. The meet and greet the couple was sufficient for the purpose. I do believe the producers would have loved having a conversation between Bethenny and Ramona. I was surprised at how genuinely nice Ramona and Sonja were to Tom and Luann. The back bites-obviously the Bethenny, Carole conversation about Tom being gay. It wasn't a rumor, it was insight based on Carole's vast superior knowledge of relationships. These two need to stop giving rumors an inception and/or legs. Bethenny-your party featuring seafood and caviar is no reason to turn your brag about your holiday get together being better than Dorinda's roast chicken. Dorinda has been there and done the sushi chef for a very elegant formal dinner. Dorinda also has to cobble breakfast together the next day and put up with fire starters, vandals and someone eating with her fingers while promising to show a video of the inhumane treatment of the main course. My cringe-drinking Skinygirl Margaritas luge or not with caviar. How about an upscale vodka at the proper temperature? Dorinda, who I do believe has an incredibly short attention span, your toast was about you. Telling someone to stop celebrating although honest would be akin to someone telling you to stop eulogizing your late husband. Dorinda at some point has to realize and play nice that some stuff is just for the show. I would like to see more John but Dorinda has sais she wants the attention on her. Carole what the hell? Why was she essentially calling Tom and Luann liars over whether or not Luann cooks? Luann of all the insults did not take this one in stride: http://www.bravotv.com/the-real-housewives-of-new-york-city/season-9/blogs/luann-dagostino/luann-dagostino-being-married-to Ramona, you got it right, going to a meet and greet is not the same as attending the wedding. You already covered this with claiming you wanted an invite so you can decline it. Really-they ran out of money? I would not spend $10.00 a head on these clowns at this point. Ramona seems to forget what she did in the Berkshires to Luann. Bethenny calling Carole boring. Just not nice, especially after Carole disputed Ramona's claim of Bethenny calling Carole boring. I did love that Dorinda won't let go of Ramona trashing her house. Icing on the cake-Jill Zarin calling Ramona a pig. Perfection. As usual. :) Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/58545-s09e11-a-countess-no-more/page/20/#findComment-3398796
gingerella June 25, 2017 Share June 25, 2017 Was it this epi were Tom and Lulu went in for one of their now-infamous awkward AF kisses to show how passionate and IN LOVE they fucking are, and Tom grabbed Lu by the throat when he went in for the kiss? That? Squicked the hell out of me. They have zero chemistry and I personally don't believe they've ever consummated their relationship. I think it's just for show. And yes, before anyone asks, I do think Luann would throw a huge wedding just for the cameras. She's all about the famewhore optics of everything. She is so obviously calculated on the show, its painful to watch most of the time. And it's total bullshit that she continues to use her countess moniker on IG, if she's so IN LOVE with Tom, then change your damn account name woman. FozzyBear July 6, 2017 Share July 6, 2017 Ramona is so batshit crazy. I'm amazed has she managed to get this far in life without an arrest record. Even if I believed her version of what happened to her room, how do you sneak out without telling Dorinda? Bethany looked really pretty in Chinatown, better then I've seen her look in a long time. That soft grey is a nice color on her. Also, this Bethany that can admit she lost her wedding invite when she called the bride a whore and she deserves to be on the D list now, is the Bethany I like. We don't see enough of her anymore. Carole, Carole, Carole, you never looked like more of an old biddy then when you were making a sour face about the chocolate ice cream YOU ORDERED! Picky eating is one thing, I will admit I lose patience with it faster then I should (I'm working on being more tolerant of people's food issues. I swear!), but feigned ignorance is such a pet peeve of mine. Not knowing shit doesn't make you cute. I'm not sitting here thinking that you've lived a life that was too full and rich to bother learning that lavander is a flower. Nor do I even believe you had just never heard of this crazy new food called dim sum. I just think you're an attention whore who has to be patted on the head and admired for all your special snowflakeness every 5 minutes. Get a god damn sense of self already. You're working my last nerve. Also, if you think Tom is gay then say so. Do not ever try to use someone's sexual identity as a veiled insult in my presence ever again! 4 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/58545-s09e11-a-countess-no-more/page/20/#findComment-3434106
OnceSane July 10, 2017 Author Share July 10, 2017 This forum has been locked until Midnight US Eastern. Over the past few weeks, there has been a large increase in sniping among posters in this forum, and many reports. We have locked the forum to give everyone a chance to read and absorb the following guidelines: 1. Snark the show, not your fellow posters. 2. It is perfectly fine for someone to have an opinion that's different than yours. 3. A differing opinion should not be a catalyst for vehement disagreement and endless back and forth. State your opinion once, and move on. You can agree to disagree by simply not posting on the subject further. 4. Stop stating opinions and speculation as fact. We rarely know for sure what's going on behind the scenes. Speculation is encouraged, but saying "I think", "in my opinion" or "it's possible that" helps keep things from escalating. 5. If someone's posts annoy you, use the Ignore feature. If someone really crosses a line, report, but do not engage. 6. Don't discuss mod actions in the thread. Please PM us if you have a question or concern - @LISIN, @ONCESANE, @MYA STONE, @AETHERA. 7. This is supposed to be fun. If it's not fun for you, consider changing your approach. bagger August 16, 2017 Share August 16, 2017 Love Wednesday marathons, gonna miss them. I vacillate between who is more vile RAmona or Sonja. She walks into B's party and has the nerve to bitch that Dorinda is talking about how Ramona ruined her room in the Beekshires but won't give the whole ridiculous notion that Tinsley is trying to use Connor as her own assistant. She needs to take several seats. I did just catch B calling the Lu/Tom "wedding" party in that basement the Aftermath party. Ah B, never change. Timsley's look at that party is very becoming with her hair up and the LBD. Lets call Frenchie what he is...he's a professional escort and that's about it. Sonja just needs to give up the pretense. Recently she said she was going to France to meet his parents but with all the instagram king she does I haven't seen any pictures of them in FRANCE!!!! 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/58545-s09e11-a-countess-no-more/page/20/#findComment-3556625
