OMG.  Could you imagine that mash up?  So, her nannies would probably be Filipino and her driver would usually be either Pakistani or Indian but she would probably consider those too low brow for her to pick up on.  There is a lot of Dutch here along with the British contingent so maybe she would add a Dutch influence to her accent?  I frequently joke that getting together with friends over here is like a meeting of the UN.

People keep pulling this out of context so thank you for pointing out the context of the statement. It wasn't like LVP just asked Ericka if she was wearing any undies.  They were talking about how Kyle needed some undies and asked LVP if she had a spare pair.  LVP then turned to Ericka and asked her if she had any.  When you put it into that context, it is very clear that Ericka was stating that she didn't have a pair to spare. Context is everything!

I used to travel so much, but pretty much stopped in '06! It just wasn't worth it; paying to be abused! No amount of reparations would be enough to deal with how people are routinely treated! Even when I did fly, I tended to take the earliest or "red eyes!" It wasn't as packed and the terminal wasn't overrun! I can imagine it's worse now, paying more than ever, and people allowing themselves to be treated like cattle! I just don't miss it; even if someone pays for it! ;-(

Kyle should not be rescuing her sister from every confrontation she finds herself in.

She thinks it is putting a drink in an alcoholic's hand? Kyle, when you financially help someone who should be working or caring for their own finances, you are enabling. You are allowing them to continue with their addiction because they are not being held accountable for the responsibilities in life. You are the person that hands an alcoholic on the street a few dollars for food and they go and spend it on booze.

Sorry, maybe all true, but lost on me! I barely know these characters and only watched from beginning to end this season! I see flashbacks so I'm aware everyone's an enabler, a b!tch, a backstabber, etc., but they each take turns playing a role! This year Rinna was the villain and it was all to culminate in this woman finally "getting hers" after last season of her abusing Yolanda! It wound up being a bust Sunday; Kyle not really getting on Rinna's case at all! She was bemused by Kim's tête-à-tête with Rinna and was thrown off I guess! That silly look, chewing on her fingers made me think "she's as damaged as Kim!" Kyle just hides it better; usually accepting bad behavior and forgiving just about any transgression perpetrated on her, Kim, or LVP! ;-)

Ugh, flying in the US is a demoralizing experience.  I never realized how bad it was until I started flying internationally more and then moved to the Middle East. The only place that was a worse experience was India, in my opinion.

And OMG, the accent mash-up would be HORRIBLE.  I do accent reduction as a side job (have done so for around 8 years) and I have never encountered someone like Dorit.

I get it about anxiety, but don't be so sure about how xanax effects other people.  I have personally seen people take much, much more than .5 mg and function.  Also, factor in that some people are using xanax in concert with other drugs, such as painkillers or amphetamines.  Some drugs that put most people to sleep can have an opposite effect in others, such as nyquil.  I know xanax helps many people, but I do suggest anyone taking it should be informed.  It is widely abused and withdrawl can be deadly.  Never just stop taking it.  It is essential to taper down and discuss with a doctor.  It can be so dangerous.  This is why I have such an issue with the discussion.  It minimizes those who really need it and endangers those who think it's okay to start popping them "like candy."  I lay that blame right at Rinna's feet.

Well Rinna didn't stop discussing in an offhanded manner even at the very end saying she needed a Xanax and a glass of wine.  No one except Rinna said Rinna was addicted or had a problem with Xanax except Rinna.  Saying others thought it or implied it doesn't count. Kim Richards is one with a diagnosed panic disorder and in Season 2 she told Paul Nassiff all the various anti-anxiety drugs she was taking before getting a cosmetic procedure.

There is no consent required when something is in plain view.  One doesn't even need consent to talk about what they saw in plain view.  Kyle saw it and said she looked and after Erika claimed to not have any panties, she looked again.  She described it as not being able to look away once someone draws attention to it. I don't like that a certain recapper constantly makes reference and backs it up with photos that Kyle has back fat.  Yet, after several seasons Kyle keeps wearing garments that make it appear she has back fat.  I would like to think that often times the mic pac causes a garment to fit poorly.  You say leered and PK said looked.  I think he is more qualified about his state of mind than anyone else.  He also made the comment he was uncomfortable with the situation.

If cocaine use were prevalent or even minimal during shooting, I would think there would be some mention by production or a photo.  Again plain sight is plain sight.  Same with visual cocaine residue around the nostrils, with HD one can almost count the pores in someone's skin.  It isn't shown because most likely it didn't happen.

We just moved from there at the end of 2016.  It is getting more strict. They are having difficulty with the loss of cultural identity that is coming from all the expats coming in.  So, they are making it very known and obvious that they don't appreciate expats and don't want them there. They won't make you wear an abaya (so not Kingdom level) but you must have a shirt with sleeves, it has to have a high neckline, and your knees must be covered. A burkini is the only acceptable swimsuit at the public beaches so most Westerners belong to a beach club at one of the 5 star hotels.  We would come to Dubai to escape during long breaks so I was happy when my husband's company relocated us.

Given all the expats there, I'm surprised nobody has tried to do a HWs of Dubai. Caroline could be a part of it.

And just a general question I want to ask my fellow PT posters: How did Rinna and Eileen get chosen to be on this show? I know sometimes it's one of the other housewives who brings on their friend(s) but I don't recall how Eileen,Rinna or Erika got cast. 

 

Rinna came on as LVP's friend. According to LVP, they had been friends for over 20 years. Rinna was actually closer to Kyle (although she hadn't known her as long). Eileen was introduced the same season, during a lunch with Rinna, where they met to "catch up". They have known each other forever. Since Rinna already knew some of the gals and was already a regular at lots of their parties and such (she has said she has attended every one of Kyle's White Parties since the first one), she was able to introduce Eileen to the group even though she was new to the actual show.

Given all the expats there, I'm surprised nobody has tried to do a HWs of Dubai. Caroline could be a part of it.

 

I would imagine it would be problematic given all the restrictions. I love living here (we currently have no plans to return to the US) but there are a lot of rules. 

I'm waiting for the World Cup to blow up in Qatar's face.  They are holding firm on the no drinking rule.  I can't wait to see how that goes down. 

We have diverged from the Real Housewives.  I want them to do another trip and show a bit more than Dubai Mall.

During the Reunion, near the end, Rinna said something about being hurt by Kyle saying her lips were so big she couldn't keep her mouth shut.   First off I don't really think Kyle thinks the size of one's lips is indicative of controlling their speech.  What makes this relevant to me, regarding the Erika moment, is Kyle said something along the lines of you use big lips emojis.  My thought was Rinna has made her lips part of her persona (and had them surgically enhanced beyond the range of normal) she had her lips has part of her tag line, her daughters discussed having their lips done and Rinna does a lot of self-deprecating humor.  So I think Kyle was surprised she took offense (and of course Eileen did as well), as Rinna has often joked about her lips and being uncensored and profane.  To me, it was nothing accusation by Rinna given the context Kyle used it.  I just don't think anyone can be expected to know exactly when a line is crossed when it comes to Rinna's lips.  (Of course Eileen would know.)

Erika has been fairly immodest on camera and wears a cunty necklace, she has songs about giving zero fucks.  LVP having the impression it would not matter to her isn't wrong in her impression, it is her impression or opinion. Erika just needed to let her know (a little nicer) that in spite of what she puts out there, she was embarrassed by her gaff.  LVP would have no way of knowing that unless Erika tells her and not in a manic meltdown kind of way.  I have never really signed on to the slut shaming in regards to the flash because my understanding is slut shaming is speaking derisively about a woman's sexual behavior, i.e, a one night stand.  As to victimhood, I think it is a bit of a stretch to call her a victim just as for lack of a better term beating up PK as being a perpetrator.  He was a witness and insensitive in his statements regarding what he saw.  She was the butt of a joke nothing more.   What I thought unfair to Erika was Rinna and especially Eileen objectifying her unfortunate wardrobe slip to go after Dorit and PK.  As a viewer I was left unsatisfied by Andy failing to address their behavior. 

As a very broad statement I don't think any of these women like being the butt of a joke or having an unflattering side of them shown.  LVP hates being shown crying and yet she had two very emotional issues this year and cried.  (Adoption and animal torture,) The audience making into something more (slut shaming in Erika's case) or LVP not comforting her crying husband was somehow a character flaw.  That is on us collectively for the observations that were not in the hearts or the heads of the RH.

I never thought I would say this (after the last season) but I'm so ready for the RHOC bitches. 

Maybe it's Andy Cohen that needs to go away forever? You know the old saying "what's (who's)the common denominator" . I used to like him but not anymore. 

Rinna openly begged Andy to be on the show! She had wanted to be a BH HW for years. I have no idea why they brought Eileen on or why she thought it a good idea.

OK! So, first and foremost if your posts have disappeared it's because either they were against the rules or they quoted a post that was hidden for being against the rules. We do not edit posts here. And finally, let's all remember the Real Housewives Forum Mantra: You are never going to "win" an argument. Everyone has their own opinions and you are never going to change them. At some point it is necessary to agree to disagree and move on. 

With that in mind we feel you all have reached the end of the discussion of Erika and the underwear debacle. Everyone has stated their opinion more than once (MANY MORE TIMES THAN ONCE) and there are those of you who feel she's being slut shamed and those of you who think she called attention to it and therefore deserved it and everything in between. We are not going to reach common ground on this, so unless you have some vastly different angle to talk about it let's just let that discussion die. Thanks.

Now, Bravo did make a 3-part ski trip show with Kandi's entire family and Todd's entire family.  It was, of course, a shitshow with the worst behavior coming from the Old Lady Gang.
