She didn't care enuf about that poor, overburdened animal NOT to ride it. It was the folks of this forum that feared for the horse.

Interesting that all Twit has done on her FB page for the past 2-3 weeks is advertise her cruise, her workout DVDs & now her year-old book. I wonder if she's trying to squeeze all the $$$$ from her rabid fans as she can before she becomes a has-been?

LOL.  We all know that Twitney is not bright, but his comment about that is hysterical.

Well, we know she was only attracted to the facial hair and he was only attracted to the paycheck, so that's the final nail in that coffin. And I notice his "not if I see you first" type joke whizzed right over her head, at least from what I can see here.

LOL yeah that comment whizzed right over her head. Glad he shaved, though, maybe he had lice or something and had to get rid of it.

OMG. I just saw a promo for a TLC show about morbidly obese Little People. So they have now managed to combine their tiny, tiny people with their big, big people. TLC really has no shame.

Dot, I just watched the video you posted and it's brilliant. I agree the guy narrating is an idiot in the sense that he's allowed to express how annoyed he is but he doesn't need to resort to vulgarity that's solely meant to shame. However, the video clearly notes everything that enrages me about Twitney. He's right - how dare she place herself in the same class of people who have lost a part of themselves, yet soldier on. Twit's lost nothing (aside from any pride she may have had).

That's EXACTLY what I thought -- weird but better. That bush on his face was awful & much better gone, but what's with his eyes in this photo? Weird.

That's the same statement that's on her FB page, but in a longer format. It's old, been there for years & the "9/8" refers to EST/CST, not to Sept 8. So far, no official notification from TLC. But remember: the channel is planning some kind of parade of stars event in early July. Presumably, then we'll know.

Aw thanks. But I think I'll leave the commenting on social media to those of you who monitor it on the regs. (Which I really appreciate since it fills in so many details.)  However it won't keep me from snarking on her since she provides so much material.

Whitney has made her surprise announcement on Facebook and it is all about the cruise.  She's having three special guests this time: Sara Sapora, a plus size wellness blogger, Nichole Alex, a professional photographer who has a portfolio of plus size models (none of which look particularly large, to my eyes at least) and plus size model Kelsey Olsen (listed by her agency as an American size 16). There will be body positivity lectures, a modeling class and a chance to win a photo shoot.

I thought there were 2 interesting things about the Big Announcement. (1) Twit's rabid fans must be bitterly disappointed about these Z-list celebs since they were all guessing A- & B-list celebs. (Why they think Twit would know real celebs is beyond me.) And (2) all those cabins that were unsold a month ago are still unsold. The deadline is less than 2 months away. Twit must be getting desperate to fill those cabins.

It is so pitiful to me that people respond to her post about the cruise with "I can't afford to go, so sad, I can't afford your cruise, it's too expensive," blah blah blah. You know, I can't afford everything either, but I don't constantly talk about what I can't afford to do so that people will feel sorry for me (or feel bad for having an "expensive activity" for "fans"). Are they hoping Whitney will pay for them to come? I don't get it.

From the pleading tone of some of the comments, I honestly think some of them think they might touch Twit's generous heart & she will donate a cabin to them. Remember, most of those folks are nuts. They think she's Saint Whitney.

Oh Dot, how you underestimate the Nit-Whits!  The minute she posted the announcement, the comments started to fill with squeals about how exciting this is going to be, how much they LOVED Sara! (She is also a morbidly obese woman with a blog that is centered on the danger of quantifiable goals. A quote:

I don’t do goals. At least not ones with numbers and stats attached to them. When we wrap our happiness around the achievement of specifics, we’re setting ourselves up to fail. What happens if we fall short of our goal, does that mean we’re unsuccessful as humans? Or, if the Universe has a plan for us that’s different than our goal, do we decided we’ve fallen short if we don’t attain the exact specifics we set out to? And what would happen if we met our goal and still DIDN’T feel fulfilled then? What next?

This is why I chase feelings. I come from the Danielle LaPorte school of theory here – instead of quantifiable goals, I decide how I want to feel in my life. I decide what “state of being” I want to experience. Then I show up. I show up hard and fast and passionate in the ways that I believe will allow me to experience this feeling… and I keep an open mind. This way, if a creative alternative comes along, I don’t shut myself off from something great. This way, I don’t block the Universe from bringing magic to me — I show up, I do my part, and I take my hands off the wheel just enough to allow for something beautiful to happen.")

The Nits are, however, a little uneasy about the presence of a plus size model and her photographer.

Quite a few of them are, it seems. There's an awful lot of whining about how much they love her and how poor they are and how meeting her would save their miserable lives. The guilt tripping is strong! Then there are the ones who demand "fairness" like she could at least have a raffle for a few free places. And then there are the ones who are offering their talents in exchange for a cruise: poetry! karaoke!

Wow.  After reading this, if I had all kinds of money, I'd hire a Huey and have Penny (from My 600 Lb Life) airlifted from Maryland dropped on the ship.
She doesn't do goals either, and is "doing it my way, doing it in my own time."

Huh. Okay. I actually see the point of some of this, that believing too strongly in a specific goal that you cannot really control (ie "I will lose 50 lb in 3 months") is not a good idea, that you should focus on a behavior that will put you in the right direction (ie "I will work out 6 hours a week and eat healthy foods in smaller portions"). Unfortunately, I think a "plus size lifestyle blogger" would not set any sort of goals like that, either. As a trainer, I see that quantifiable goals that are *reasonable* help clients to work toward something tangible. Having the goal "I want to have a magical state of being" is a huge crock of shit. That literally means nothing.

It sure does. To me it sounds like, "I want the universe to change for me, so that I don't have to change one bit for the universe. That way, everything I do is wonderful and praiseworthy because that's the way I want the universe to be. And if it's not, it's somebody else's fault and not mine."

How utterly delusional, immature, and irresponsible. Falling short of a goal will not ruin your life, but having no goals at all means you have NO life.

What I got out of that gibberish is that it translates into I will eat that half a cake if I want and ignore the 5 lbs that come with it.

Numbers and reality and being healthy will NOT stand in my way of killing myself (glorious living) when that buffet is calling my name.

Numbers are ONLY important when they are used to dial for pizza delivery.

Whitney has been heavily promoting her clothing line on Facebook recently, and some of the new items have come in.  She is, as always, the only one modeling her line of clothing for women, and it's really apparent how much weight she's been gaining. I also notice that the item descriptions no longer say "Whitney is wearing size [fill in the blank].  Typically, she'd claim to be wearing one or two sizes down from the largest size offered for sale. But how can she look like this and credibly claim she isn't overflowing the largest size on offer? *Ketzel grabs bag and heads for the gym*

Yes, is that actually a style, or just several sizes too small?  Why would you want one like that?

This is called "The Drapery Crossback Tee" on the site. The description is: "Grab a hold of this flowy 3.9-ounce double blended poly (70%) and rayon (30%) tee. This will sure grab the attention from others with the crossed back and dolman sleeves. "  The problem is she is too large for the garment to drape or flow. And I always thought a dolman sleeve was supposed to blouse at the shoulder and then taper down to the elbow or the wrist, usually the wrist.  Either this wasn't actually a dolman sleeve cut, or her arms are too big and are taking up all the material that should be blousing gracefully over the shoulder and on down.

How stupid to market that kind of shirt to overweight women. It just looks like she's too fat to fit into the thing. No doubt wearing that at an advanced size would encourage unwanted & hurtful comments from people.

I guess for her it doesn't matter since she likes to play victim.

Granted, I have no idea what I'm talking about.  And I'm sure nothing looks like it makes sense on Whitney.

But it would seem like that style of top would work for someone whose rear-end and hips are drastically out of proportion to their upper body.  Otherwise, a top that would accommodate their hips and butt would be way too baggy up top, and one that fit up top could never cover their rear-ends.

Whitney's rear-end and hips are enormous.  But her upper body is too.  So it doesn't work on her.

In terms of Twit's latest merchandising: I checked how cruise sales are going. Not so great; the same 3 levels of cabins are still unsold as they have been for the past 2 months. Deadline to sign up is less than 2 months away. From the number of FB sales pitches she is making, I think she's getting pretty desperate.

A while back one of you who cruise regularly noted that Kate Gosselin had to cancel her cruise due to lack of interest. Anyone know what causes that? For example, can you just sell 80% of the cabins set aside? Or does it need to be 100%?

The ones I find with a google image search don't look much like this, and don't hang open at the bottom.

I took your suggestion to heart & also googled dolman sleeve and then drapery cross-back tee. ITA with you; none of the images that came up looked anything like a tee that had been ripped from the bottom to fit around the ass.

In other words, a lot of the My 600 Lb lifers with big protrusions on their hips.
On the cruise, I followed, or so I thought, the sales for last year's, and the bonus offer for "first 50" bookings stayed in place, but it seems to be been up to her expectations, alas.  So don't count her out yet.

In addition to no longer noting Twit's size, the new clothing pictured doesn't have that silly NoBS logo (or wording) like all the previous apparel. Since most of that is on sale, I guess most of her rabid fans have not been interested in calling attention to No Body Shame on their bodies.
