Oh, I hope they don't make them poor.  Older son (can't remember his name, sorry) had easy access to money where he could rent a whole loge at a football game last week, so they have some sort of access to money.  But I guess they did need to change something up, as there's only so much you can get out of the current set up.

On an unrelated note, I wish they'd tone down the gratuitous violence.  Watching Jimmy get the crap beat out of him time and time again really isn't funny.

yeah, it's not just about animals being killed, for me.  It's about the lack of adult responsibility for that child.  In a previous episode he was watching back-to-back R-rated horror movies.  He was told by his brother to lick a hot grill.  I cant remember what else.  He's being neglected.

Now, he's being given pets without anyone showing him how to treat an animal, he's handed a pet like it's a stuffed animal, so he, of course, treats it like a stuffed animal.  He's either going to grow up to be a sociopath, or he's going to be racked with guilt when he realizes that he killed numerous pets.

I know it's a fictional show.  But child neglect and animal abuse are not good topics for comedy.

I find it funny.  I think that's a core element of this style of humor-- it's so inappropriate.  At least this whole show is pretty ludicrous.  I think it's a tough humor to pull off.  I see Blackish, the Goldbergs and others aim for some of that 'almost child abuse' humor and for me it only occasionally hits it mark.

But oddly I didn't like in Sunny how often they did episodes where the humor was based on stuff like them smoking crack.  It's funny when it's unexpected and irreverent but if you go to that well too often, it just feels gratuitous and overdone to me.  Hopefully they can keep it fresh here for a while.

Mickey and the kids are forced to downgrade from their temporary residence at a hotel after their financial advisor cuts them off due to excessive spending. Mickey and Sabrina refuse to accept the decision and launder up a plan to prevent anyone from stopping their stride. Meanwhile, Jimmy teaches Chip that the tricks to living in a luxurious hotel can be simple.

I thought this was pretty funny.  The only thing that annoyed me was that they didn't take their accountant a bit more seriously.  If he's that concerned, it's because they're going to run out of money. What then?

I loved all the pairings this episode.  They really do all work well off each other.

  • Benny and Alba- Benny causing Alba to detox.  lol.  She did look like a demon was being expelled from her.
  • Chet and Jimmy- I lol'd when Jimmy came out literally sopping wet.
  • Sabrina and Mickey- they both are so snarky to each other and to others.  I love it.

Chet was a real ass to that nice kid who wanted to carpool, but that's to be expected.

Ben is still the cutest and scariest kid ever! I didn't realize I missed this show until I watched it again. Mickey always misjudges everything she takes at face value. It's surprising she has survived as long as she has. I think Jimmy probably has a ton to do with that. And maybe her sister. I loved the all-too-true comparison between female and male "escorts" though. LOL!

I'm a little confused about their financial status. Weren't the parents captured by the cops last season? Shouldn't they have no money? Wouldn't their parents' assets have been frozen? Why was there no mention of them (unless I missed it)?

I mentioned this last year too.  Not really sure it had ever been addressed.

I was just going to say as well I like how they pair them up.  They work well together.

benny is such a cute kid, but not annoyingly "Olsen twins" cute.

Mickey's relationship with Alba is tested when Greenwich divorcee Trish hits rock bottom and becomes the perfect new friend for Mickey. When Mickey sends Jimmy over to help Trish with some home repairs, she begins to question just how casual her relationship with him really is. Meanwhile, Sabrina and Ben take a shot at Chip’s ego.

The part when the glass shard was pulled out of her neck and blood started spraying everywhere was ghastly! I'm pretty sure in real life she would have died.

I'm still really confused about their financial situation. I'm not sure the writers are real clear on it either and maybe I'm over-thinking this but it's such a crucial part of the premise. How much money do they have access to and how much can they spend to fix the house? Or could they just sell the property and use the money for a new place to live? Will homeowners insurance pay for any repairs? I know they're all a bunch of mooches and losers (will, Mickey and Jimmy are, anyway) and don't really put any effort into anything but even they would want to spend whatever money they can get their hands on.

I'm surprised that they're still living in that burnt up mansion instead of a hotel or a more modest, not burnt up house.

And just once this year, I'd like to watch a comedy without Michaela Watkins appearing.  How does one actor work that much without dying of exhaustion?

I thought it was odd when she was saying she wanted to lose 20 pounds by her ex-husband's wedding.  Honey, you don't have enough fat to grease a pancake skillet.  If you lost 20 pounds, you'd die.

Everywhere I look, Michaela Watkins appears! I like her, so I would be happy to see her again. And I thought Mickey realizing, to her horror, that she cares that Jimmy is dating someone was kind of sweet, in a weird way. Much like how Ben realizing that he thought Chip was annoying but he still loved him was also sweet but weird.

Like Kaitlin Olson isn't already in shape. She is clearly a very attractive women, even when shes frequently drunk and/or bleeding.

In an episode where Mickey survives that wound and a family lives in a half burned down mansion, Kaitlin Olson eating chips at the gym instead of working out might be the most unbelievable part of the episode.

Really? I mean, Kaitlin Olsen, sure, but Mickey? Mickey is definitely not the picture of health. I view her as that kind of skinny-fat alcoholic who survives on a diet of Cheetos and tequila. Maybe I'm biased from seeing her as Sweet Dee 2.0, a woman who has a heart attack and then goes on a mission to "get healthy" by investing in tons of questionable supplements and workout outfits.

The physical comedy always gets me in this show! From the apple fight at the picnic to the sister brawl at the prison they did a really good job. Ben, again, was pretty awesome. I liked how the inmates saved his dad, and also seemed to be a little afraid of him once he told about his arson tendencies. Nice callbacks in this one to the previous season with the parents as well, especially the reveal about Chip. No wonder he's so insecure.

I loved it, but I'm still confused by the mother saying at the end that she'll call the lawyer and make sure they get whatever they need.  I'm guessing off-shore, secret accounts?  I'm ok if they just magically get money.  I love the interactions, situations, physical comedy, etc, that I just don't care if they're magically rich again.  I'm a bit sick of them in that burned out house.

This money situation is confusing.  How did they go from living in the lap of luxury at a hotel to foraging for food like homeless people so fast.

I didn't really like this episode.  I was disturbed by the father becoming someone's prison bitch and having all his teeth knocked out.  That's really not a laughing matter....

On any other show, the dad being the guard from Prison Breaks prison bitch  and it being kind of played for laughs, it would be really disturbing, but this is a show that played the horrible death of Sabrina's boyfriend for laughs too, so anything is on the table at this point.

I loved Ben so much, he is just the most lovable kid. Even hardened criminals like him!

Actually it wasn't the thing about being the big prisoner's bitch that bothered me.  It's the fact that the big prisoner knocked out all his teeth and deformed him that did.

It keeps getting more and more confusing as it goes along. There was some kind of financial manager in the season premier who indicated they had access to funds and he was trying to curb their spending. What happened to that?

And how did Ben get into the prison cells?

The rape jokes weren't funny to me, either.

I missed how Chip wound up in a monkey costume. He was in his regular clothes when they locked him in the cage and still in them when the party started.

Jimmy gave him the monkey costume when he was in the cage and said something like "you would blend in more if you put this on" and the next time they showed him he was in the costume.
