Well call me ignorant, but I thought it was common knowledge to all prisoners that their phone calls are monitored/recorded. Please, someone tell me I'm not the only one who thought this was standard prison protocol?

This was his first arrest, he knew full well he was being recorded, as did his mom, IMO.

I suspect Lauri is stepping up because of the backlash she is getting on SM for not helping Josh enough over the years. When Josh and his baby's mom were arrested after their daughter was born, Lauri didn't seek custody of her granddaughter and the baby was in foster care for over a year before Lauri/George went for custody and, IMO, they only did so because she was trying to get back on the OC show (which she did as a FOH). So, I suspect that she is still trying to return to the show and knows full well that Josh will be a subject that someone brings up on camera.

That article stated that Josh could face "multiple life prison sentences for attempted murder".  That seems pretty harsh for attempting to murder someone. Maybe they're also charging him for the crime of having Lauri for a mother? LOL

If Lauri is really trying to use this situation with Josh as a storyline to get back on RHOC, then SHE needs to be facing multiple life sentences. Or maybe shes hoping that her notoriety as a "real housewife of OC will get lots of free publicity about Josh's plight and he will get a much lighter sentence.

Josh's argument makes no sense-if you are representing yourself you don't gain some type of attorney client privilege.  The idea is it protects the attorney and the client.  If the attorney and the client include a third party-like Lauri, then the conversation is no longer privileged.  This is beyond dumb.  Even if Josh's new attorney has conversations with Lauri they are subject to direct and cross examination.  Dumb and Dumber.

According to TheHollywoodGossip.com Gina and Tamra have been friends for quite awhile. Tamra "recruited" her for the show. The other new cast member is some "event planner/attorney".

I don't imagine Lauri wants to be on the show again b/c she's got her wallet providing for her lifestyle and she doesn't want to rock the boat with him (exposure, that kind of thing).

I recall she quit suddenly at the start of season 4 because of her son's legal troubles getting even worse instead of better.  I remember that the gimmick was a Brady bunch theme with the blending of two families when season 4 started.  I recall she took a passive role in the group scenes and even cut out of most group functions because of family obligations..and was at least nice to Gretchen when she joined unlike the others.  And Andy tried to get her to come back for years and she wouldn't even saying that the concept of the show had changed and didnt know if she could fit in (we saw that her worries were legit when she was a friend of in season 8 and was ill equipped at the gossip and fighting aspect).

Lauri really dug her own grave in Season 8. Yes, it was such a load of BS -- she went on and on bout her life being overwhelmed with measles and chicken pox and school events and extra curricular activities, which was silly because her 2 oldest and the bulk of Wallet's kids had already moved out or were past needing Mommy to manage their lives.

Kennedy was born sometime in 2012; season 8 filmed in fall of that same year, then aired in the spring of 2013. If I recall correctly, Josh and his child's mother had lost custody of their daughter by the time the reunion filmed; I remember being surprised that neither Tamra nor Vicki deployed the fact that Kennedy was in foster care against Lauri when she made her appearance on set and still went after Vicki. 

I always assumed the delay in the adoption had more to do with Lauri needing some lead time to, um, work her powers of persuasion on George.

Vicki did ask "how" Josh was doing, Andy/Lauri quickly cut her off and I think this is what she was referring to. Lauri got a lot of backlash over not taking in her granddaughter as soon as Josh/gf lost custody of her. I saw the old shows that were running today and decided to see how Slade's son Grayson is doing.  He has a website about his condition.  If you click on the video, there's a short clip of Grayson talking........tears are streaming down my face. What a precious child.  My goodness.....there are no words.  Prayers for that little boy.  He sure is a blessing.

Thanks for posting that link. Why isn't Slade in this child's life? Is it because he doesn't pay child support? Or because he's a selfish a-hole? Gretchen would be a fool to marry Slade. If they ended up getting divorced she'd be paying him alimony because she makes the money. His lazy ass just follows her around like a pussified d-bag. Much like Kroy Bierman-Zolciak.

I don't know how current this link is, he would be 17 - 18 now and there is no new info/treatments since 2012. I hope he is well.

This site is his mom's site and I don't think she/Slade are on good terms so I am not surprised to see no mention of or photos of Grayson with Slade.

I don't know any details about Slade's relationship with his son.  I suppose that he is quite a bit older now and that his condition may have changed.  He is also on FB with name Amazing Gray.  He appears to be young there as well, but, there is a post from this year. 

He is certainly a very special person and if Slade is not a part of his life, he's really missing out.

Last night after reading the site that stopped in 2012 I googled his name and hit images.  There are a few of him with Slade and Gretchen where he looks a little older. What a sweet kid that has had such a hard time of it from the beginning.

I don't think that video is all that recent, it's at least 6 years old and there were no updates after 2012. See athousandclowns post above, Slade/Gretchen do see him.

There's a show called Crime Watch Daily. They have a (new?) episode out and it's the story of Josh Waring. Haven't watched it yet but I'm wondering if Lauri (with the help of George Peterson's deep pockets) wanted Josh's "story" told and it's going to be slanted in favor of making Josh look like he was "framed" for the shooting incident (as Lauri claims happened)

Well, I called it on that one. Definitely Lauri's attempt at getting as many people possible to become aware of Josh's "plight". I guess Josh fired his attorney and chose to represent himself in court. That's why he was angry about the jail recording his visitation conversation...since he is acting as his own council, the jail violated the "attorney/client" privilege law (I think. But I'm not an attorney so I could be wrong about that.) Josh is going to take the stand at his trial. I might have to add that trial to my bucket list! Lol. (I jest!)

Yes, that is what Josh is asserting but he is the one that forgot to let the jail know he was acting as his own attorney and that he was talking to his parents as his attorney and not as Lauri's 'son". His screw up, not the jail's.

It also could be because the baby's MOTHER may have been reluctant to give the baby up and sign over her rights to Lauri and George.  And I wouldn't blame them for wanting to take their time with taking on another child just when theirs were nearly grown up.

Not that I'm a Tamra defender, but I did recently re-watch those seasons and, to be fair, Tamra's issue wasn't just that Alexis and Jim were friends with Simon but that  that Jim was actually badmouthing her, saying that he hated her and I think actively taking Simon's side - all while Alexis was still being nice to her face.

I'd be so pleased if those episodes of RHOC were buried forever. But I did love the TH of Vicki saying "Telephone..TeleTamra"  So true.
