I'm really confused- did I miss an episode? I did see last weeks. When did Nick throw the tantrum and say he wasn't attracted to her an never would be?

I think that's the only thing Sonia heard.  And to be honest, who wouldn't focus on that?  Nick must be incredibly empty inside.  He has a personality, but the part of him that can relate to other people and understand them seems to be missing.

Nick is a dam, two year old.  And Pastor C is once again full of sh*t. If I was Sonia, I would've accepted the "apology" and still walked out the door.

That said, this show is faker than a $3 bill.

For God's sake, how much crap are we expecting Sonia to swallow?!  She is on par with Mother Teresa if she takes that asshole back.  I know several women who would have knocked a couple of Nick's teeth out of his mouth if he'd dared to speak to them the way he did to Sonia last week.

I'm genuinely mad over here!  These "experts" are effing bananas.

WTH .. I call Bullshit!  Nick & Sonia had sex?  It couldn't have been so good as he said he "doesn't like her and isn't attracted to her after he did the deed.  And now after talking to the Pastor, Nick is changing his mind about liking her?  I'm confused.  Are they stalling until the show runs its course?  ??????????????

Agreed. This is complete BS.  They're trying to act like Nick and Sonia have been married for 10 years and had a rough patch. They've been married for all of two seconds. They don't have history or a relationship.

Nick is still talking about friendship. He does not want a marriage and never did.

Thank God she's not ready to move back in with him. Though she's a better woman than me cause there's no way in hell I could sit there looking at wedding pictures like it's all good after what he said to her and about her. The whole scene was infuriating.

WAIT!  Now they are together again and looking at the wedding album.  Nick is actually acting human and seems interested in her.  Did the show bribe I'm to stay until the end?  If I were Sonia, I would never had gone back after he spoke to her last week.  They say liquor brings out the truth.  At this point, I don't know who or what to believe.  Stupid show.

This is what those "experts" seem to always do too. They act like these people have been in long marriage that has history. They did it to Heather and Derek as well. The way that Pastor spoke to Heather pissed me off and how he acted as if they were married for the longest time. When really the fact is they want to try to push these people to stick it out in situations that are obviously not good situations. They need to quit doing that to these people and pushing them back into what is looking like a very unhealthy environment for anyone to be in. I won't get to watch this until tomorrow but did he call Nick out for his BS at all (aside from his punk remark *rollseyes*) or just push Sonia to make it work?

Nick doesn't want even friendship from her IMO. Yet I do agree that he never wanted this marriage.

The punk comment was pretty much it. The Pastor did say he understood why Sonia walked out once he learned they'd had sex, but after that he was pushing them to  "work through" their "problems" and do some exercises to help strengthen their "marriage." It was ridiculous.

16 minutes ago, joyous said:

Wait, when did they have sex? Not just once? huh??? She's been complaining this whole time they haven't had sex..

She wasn't complaining over and over again. The producers were just playing her TH over and over again where she said this, which gave the impression that she was desperate for sex with Nick.

Tom once again proves he's the most mature man out of the three. He seems very open and very honest.  He's actually had past relationships, with women, and seems to have tried to learn from those relationships.

I don't think Sonia is going back to her "marriage" with Nick. She hasn't put her ring back on and I don't believe I saw it in the previews. I think she's open to going through the steps to complete this process but that's about it.

Nick is once again lying about his desire for her to move back in. Please. He's full of sh*t.

I did enjoy seeing Sonia take back her power and now it's Nick on a string (totally fake storyline though).

No one cares at all about Derek and Heather, FYI.  Stop that storyline.  Also, Tom and Lilian are so boring.  I don't care if they have "issues."  They are a drag.

“Why did he have sex with me, if he wasn’t attracted to me?  I feel dirty.”  Someone should probably tell Sonia that a man doesn’t have to be attracted to a woman to have sex with her. The fact that they were sitting so far apart on the bleachers was rather telling.  I think Sonia is done.

Enough with Heather and Derek.  I don’t believe anyone cares.

Let's see ..  Who was Nick tonight .. Jekyl .. or  Hyde?   Ha, ha.  He was soooo verbal I had to check the channel.   He spoke more in one night than he did the whole show.  And Sonia, poor thing, believes him?  And don't get me started on Derek & what's her name.  What a farce. I guess the "contract" makes them finish the season.   I won't even comment on the "experts".

I think I'm over this show too. It's so infuriating to watch. These so called experts are quacks. I can't believe the pastor thought Sonia and Nick should still stay together and 'work on their marriage'. Nick has said multiple times that he doesn't want to work on it and he just wants friendship. This is bullshit, he doesn't want to stay married and I think he's only on this show to promote his t-shirt line. I'll bet when they had sex he was drunk. And then he said he was attracted to Sonia at first but after awhile (after having sex?) he said the attraction diminished.

His apology was lame and Sonia is way too forgiving. I hope she doesn't move back in with him and don't give him anymore sex either. He's an asshole.

and why are they torturing us with Derek and Heather. Why is Derek acting all butt hurt and moping around? Move on and quit going to bars with your dudes/bro's and carrying around the letter she wrote to him, whip it out at the bar to peruse it once again? Gawd!

And does this show think we are stupid to make it look like Heather and Derek might try to get back together? I don't think so or care.

Figures, let's not have another one fail is how they are looking at it. Its more about them, "the experts", than it is about these people in the relationships. The "exercises" they always give these people are such jokes as well. They are not going to strengthen shit with those 2. He never liked her from the get go. Them not seeing this just shows how much of a joke they are as "experts". There is no coming back from those words he said at all...especially when they are meant too. He would only want to have her "move" back in to act like he is not the asshole he came off as while drunk (yet again). He has to worry about how it might effect his businesses and all. *rollseyes* I hope she won't go back because that will be a mistake and make her look pathetic for being pushed so easily to do so.

Funny how bus living Tom is the mature one of the 3. LOL I'm still on the fence with them but its nice seeing how they have been in the mix of nightmares. LOL

These people, gawd. The participants insist -- INSIST -- during the casting and interview process that this is what they want more than anything and they're 100% committed to making their marriages work. Then it turns out that they're actually prepared to put in zero effort. I'd be annoyed too, if I were Pastor Calvin. Bunch of trifling fools.

The decision to lie about having sex was probably Sonia's coy 50s throwback idea, and Nick is always happiest when he doesn't have to speak so it suited him.

Does Nick really believe his own backtracking about his outburst last week? This is what we saw of his drunken interview with the producer. He and Sonia argued on the couch, he walked away, and the producer called out to him that "Every relationship requires work."

Nick, to the producer: Well, you gotta be attracted to the person to have that relationship, is all I'm saying.

I'm checked out. Like, I'm fucking over it. Like, I don't want to be attracted to her at this point any more. Like, I don't even want to try to be attracted to her any more. I don't have feelings for her, AT ALL.

She constantly calls me out on random things. Like not being open. Like, what the fuck is not being open, like tell me what ... tell me how you want me to be open. Cuz what is opening up? What do you want me to open up about? Tell me! You tell me what you want me to open up about. I DON'T LIKE HER! That's opening up. I can't open up any more than that. I don't think she's attractive and I'm not attracted to her and that is me opening up to the fullest fucking extent.

We're not sure how much of that Sonia heard at the time, but since Nick was speaking loudly in the next room and she heard "not attracted," I assume she heard all of it. They can't walk that back.

Nick is such a liar. When the pastor asked him about the fight, he tried to present it as if he'd just said something innocent and Sonia misinterpreted it and only heard what she wanted to hear (that he's not attracted to her). I think he's the kind of person who never takes responsibility for anything and tries to weasel his way out of everything. Similar to how, at the wedding, his mother asked him if he'd told Sonia that she was beautiful, and he said yes, even though he hadn't. Always taking the easy way out. And, like others have said, "I'm sorry if I hurt you" is not an apology. He did hurt her. He should have said, "I'm sorry that I hurt you."

Interesting, though, that they've been denying having had sex because Sonia didn't want to let people know. At least, it seemed like that's why he's been denying it, too (I guess they agreed to do that). Even more interesting that Sonia is missing the dogs and maybe now she wants one!

Oh, and one more thing: again, the experts paired these two to "help" each other! Groan.

I agree about Heather and Derek: enough already. But I guess they have to fill out the show somehow. Also, some have speculated that Derek might have come on to her and she spurred his advances, and that was definitely how it seemed tonight, judging by what Heather said. It seemed like that was one of her big issues.

It was nice to see Tom doing housework! I still don't like him very much, but yes, he's the most normal out of the three men!

Nick talked more this episode. But if you watch and listen closely, there is no real emotion that he conveys. He is very flat, and extremely detached.  Perhaps this is how he acts when he is under stress and not attracted to someone - a temporary state. It could also be a personality trait that makes it hard for him to have successful intimate, long-term relationships. We don't know enough about him to know which is the case, but this is something that jumps out so much for me when I watch him.

Whether its a state or a trait, it would make sense that alcohol causes him to lose his inhibitions and then he expresses his more honest thoughts and feelings - like the ones we heard in the last episode.

Either way, I pray to God that Sonia is just putting on an act for the cameras and that she walks away as soon as this show is over.

Its clear that the directive the experts are prioritizing above all else is from the producers - "give us more material to film so we can finish all the episodes we planned for this season."  That is what they are trying to provide - episodes... not any sort of actual, truthful responses to the problems these couples are having. It makes them look like a complete joke.

Tom and Lily are boring, but he has grown on me.  The more I watch them the more I can visualize them as a real couple. But I know this is a reality show, so I will always have some skepticism.

What's going to annoy me about this, I can tell already, is that Nick isn't going to do the work required to get Sonia to forgive him. "I'm sorry if I hurt you" is a big clue. He also said he's going to give her space, which I think means not reach out to her at all - but he has to put some work in. If the goal is to convince her that he does like her and is attracted to her, he has to show her that. I bet he's not going to bother, and then be talking about "I don't know why she hasn't come back."

breathe easy now, in and out, in and out. Keep repeating to yourself, they are trying to fulfill their contract and get the money to get out of debt. Yes this show is fake.  maybe for a while people think things could work, but the constant intrusion of the cameras will almost make sure that it can't work pose kissing, repeat that line differently, hold hands and smile at each other now. it can get exhausting and rob you of any real emotion.

I thought far more interesting was the differences that Lily and Tom had with their discussion because they are barely touching on those things on their personal video, they are the loving perfect couple on camera and won't be pushed to having a real fight then.

This show leaves you asking, what is reality.

There definitely was some kind of disagreement on Derek and Heather's honeymoon night over her not wanting sex. That's why Derek was a whining baby. Heather alluded to this tonight

Derek stop being the rejected woe is me victim. Enough

I also agree each couple is given a storyline to follow

tonight I was hoping they would just show decision day already

Nick comes off in many ways as one of those guys to say whatever he has to so that it looks good for him. He will twist it and turn it and say it a million different ways so he comes out smelling like a rose. In a few ways it reminds me of Derek and his lying to the Pastor as well on Heather not replying to his texts when she had. Yet these girls are telling him things and he isn't calling out the men for their lies. Why is that? Are we just not seeing it because of editing? Which I would think they would want to show us that kind of footage though. It looks like he is another one that rather not take responsibility for things he does/says. Did they ask if they wanted to continue with the marriage (like Heather/Derek) or just push them to do so? Sorry its not on here and I don't watch until the next day anyway but love to read all the comments before I watch so curious about that.

What is funny is I bet this show thought they had a shitfest with picking Tom to go with the real estate agent but yet it ended up not working that way...at least so far.

Yes he has been very much so this way from the get go in most scenes. The only time he isn't besides being drunk was when he was with his one friend in the ring store. He wasn't coming off like this guy at that time. Which was where I started questioning him. I figured the drinking at first was because its the wedding and first time meeting her but now it is looking more and more like an issue he has. More so one if its the only way he can "express" himself, good or bad.

Well he already said he shouldn't have to work at any of it. I think that was pretty telling right there. He probably has never had to work at anything in his life I have a feeling so he thinks that is how its suppose to be no matter what it is. Which if he didn't reach out to her it would be for her best interest so she can just be done and move on.

I like the replacement experts better than the last two but I think Calvin and Sonia let Nick off the hook too easily. Nick doesn't get it. At all.  The other guy got the punk part right.  I hope she blows and doesn't look back.

I don't get Tom and his fear of future either.  Does he see himself married or no?  Last week he was gushing.  Also, he must have an idea whether he ever wants babies, with her or with someone else, someday, yet he says "I've only known you two weeks"?  He's coming on a show to get married yet never gave it any thought or can't talk about it?  I thought, too, that he was a bit manipulative early on when he was talking in circles before he dropped the bus bomb, in an attempt to make her feel that there was something wrong with her if she didn't go along with that scenario.  I still think that she will have to be like a trained seal to keep things status quo.  There's something weird about him, in addition to the creepy vibe.

It's time for the cast and crew to take up a collection and buy Heather a personality.  I'd rather watch grass grow than to see that sour face again.  Move on, Derrick.

Agreed, Empress. Nick does not give a crap about Sonia and is probably just shocked, like most bullies are, that his victim stood up to him and continues to do so. Yes, she agreed to look at those stupid pictures--clearly under pressure from the experts--but she isn't moving back in and it's clear she's as "disgusted" with him as she says she is.

Good. She should stick to her guns and stay far away from that asshole. Any shred of sympathy I had for Nick is gone, especially after the way he lied about their level of intimacy. "I don't kiss and tell." That's bullshit. I also didn't like Sonia going along with it like it was some sign of respect to her that he didn't "kiss and tell." Are you freaking serious? This is your WIFE, you don't need to defend her honor and pretend she's a virgin. You are married, dumbasses.

Nick also lied about the fight, and about what exactly he said, making it all seem like he just made a normal comment in a normal marital argument and his crazy wife overreacted, that whole wide-eyed, "Gosh, I have no idea why she got so angry!" That particular tactic is a favorite of abusive bullies, and I'm starting to believe that that's just what Nick is. It goes along with his refusal to say anything nice to Sonia about her looks, personality, talents or anything else. Run, Sonia, run fast and far.

When I was watching the honeymoon episode, I was wondering if they skewed it to make Heather unlikeable. Cuz lets face it, Derek said some pretty nasty things about her to the cameras. Something about 32 being over the hill? I am not sure if they cut and pasted everything Heather said to make her look like an uptight b****

I agree with this. Nick seems like the type of person who will tear his girlfriend/boyfriend down in a relationship to a) make himself feel superior and b) keep control over the person with whom he's in a relationship.

Sonia knows that a relationship with him is toxic. She said it out right and I'm going to hope and believe that she continues to remember this, is bidding her time to get through the rest of filming, then will kick him to the curb when her commitment to the show has been fulfilled.

If Sonia and Nick agreed not to reveal they had sex, but Sonia revealed it anyway, how is Nick the bad guy for continuing to deny it? And, if Nick was the one who insisted that they keep it a secret, what does it say about Sonia that she went along with it? Or, was it Sonia's idea? Maybe it's down to editing, but this whole thing is very odd.

I thought it was interesting that Heather was "allowed" to even hint about Derek expecting something physical early on and that being a source of their problems. I wonder if that was an even bigger problem for her than the smoking- and they edited her comments about smoking and the one comment about gambling in order to distract the audience from the sex issue.

At this point I trust NOTHING that I see on this show.  Why couldn't they just be honest with us and show us what really happens with these folks good bad or ugly???  It would be so much better!

Doggy style!

Sonia having sex with that withdrawn, emotionally shutdown killjoy is so sad -- girl, get a grip! (no, not on THAT -- on your self esteem). And then she's eating lunch with the man who pissed all over her? WTF? Is this "Married at First Slight?"  WHY? And Pastor Calvin (never a fan of his I admit) but sir, throwing the old Norse meaning of "husband" at a man who wears his sunglasses backward on his neck (where his real eyes are) is a waste of all our time. He's still on day Five.

Derek - grow up.  I hate the phrase "mama's boy," but his mom seems so fragile and bird-like I'm not sure who relies on whom more.

He has to worry about how it might effect his businesses and all. *rollseyes* I hope she won't go back because that will be a mistake and make her look pathetic for being pushed so easily to do so.

I think Nick realized that he had to suddenly appear to "get on board" with the relationship after Sonia walked out so now he's acting the part of someone who actually gives a shit.  Anything else would have made him look really bad.  He almost messed up the charade under the "truth serum" of alcohol so now he has to pull out all the stops to counter that.  Why Sonia is buying this is beyond me.  She may be suffering from a "hope springs eternal" attitude sort of like Jaclyn in season 2.   I think Sonia is convinced that having sex just scared him but that he really does find her attractive.  She thinks he is just shy about admitting it like she is which is why they lied to the cameras. Yeah, dream on, sistah. I feel sorry for her.

Heather/Derek - He is still being a whiny bitch and refused to look in the mirror and reflect on why he pushed Heather away.  This is NOT the same as last seasons fembot Ashley who checked out on David from the first minute that she saw him.  And fine, if for some reason he feels the need to try to press reset and maybe even try again, don't guilt her into anything....like wearing your stupid fake one week reality show wedding band.  If I was her, the minute I would see that would have me checking out again.

Nick/Sonja - I don't get the whole sex thing...ok so if you want to keep your sex life a 'secret' then simply state on camera that we are not going to divulge whether or not we had sex at this time rather than emphatically stating that you didn't....AND THEN CONSTANTLY COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT!!!  Nick  completely misrepresented what he said to Pastor McShouty about finding Sonja unattractive as if it was her misunderstanding him and her reading into things.  When you shout "I am not attracted to her! I don't even like her!'....well that is pretty crystal clear.

Tom/Lily - Anyone else get the feeling that he signed up for the show on the rebound?  Kinda like Ashley last year....or Jamie on season 1?  In the end, these are the only two who have any sort of shot of making it.

Production - Please stop saying the word 'stranger'...we get the f**** premise of the show already.  Even if you have never watched it before, the title kinda gives it away.  And I would suggest making a drinking game anytime the word 'stranger' or 'experiment' is used, but I'm afraid we would all be in the hospital with alcohol poisoning (or for Heather according to Derek, happy hour). And stop giving the same advice that you would give to people who have a history....yes Nick DOES have a free pass...a free pass in divorce if he wants it in the end (he will). you cannot have it both ways....they keep talking about 'you are now married and it's legal and on your permanent record but at the same time float that this is a social experiment with a built in time limit to make a decision.
