The dentally challenged Rebecca

God love ya for noticing her teeth because I was focused on her cold, dead shark eyes (one of which seemed to wander off from time to time). Rebecca was the perfect example of looking as ugly on the outside as she was on the inside.

And yet again, here's JJ acting like she doesn't live in 2018 and doesn't have the highest end electronic equipment in her dozen homes. She doesn't know what a subwoofer is? Come on, lady. Do you really expect us to believe you're still watching television on a device that looks like this:

Well, colour me as archaic as JJ who may have the latest technology but be ignorant as to the workings of it all. I didn't know what a subwoofer was until a couple years ago when I needed speakers to replace the crappy sound on my new laptop. Guy at the tech store asked if I wanted one with a subwoofer and I was all... uhhh... ? How would I know what I want? I know the sound I like but had no idea how it was created.

I'm the person who recently went looking for a clock radio. I tracked one down then was royally pissed when my brother told me I could use my recently-acquired cell phone (sadly, I'm not a 12-year old or on welfare so it's not the 700$ variety) as an alarm clock! Who knew? I use my cell only for texting since I can't figure out how to answer an actual phone call. Swipe, press - I give up. And I still don't know about e-signatures. I'm obsolete, and to get with the flow of the New Liberal Agenda - I'm proud!

I always notice lack of teeth because it grosses me out. Stepdad had a few pickets missing from his dental fence too.

Honestly, Hogboomer (or whatever) - his neck was way bigger than his head. It was awesome in a horrifying kind of way.

I know people cannot help how they look and it is not nice to make fun of someone’s appearance.  However, since my  ticket to Hell in a Handbasket has been bought & upgraded to “express” many years ago, I’m gonna just say it.  This was an exceptionally unattractive group today.  And Giant Misfit is 100% correct about Rebecca’s ugliness going beyond skin deep. I don’t believe for a NY minute that she was “afraid” of her step father, or that he was abusive.

Absolutely, but the people who get made fun of are always amoral and unlikable people who have done such shitty things and have so little regard for the rights and feelings of those they've screwed over that they deserve it. No one decent ever gets mocked no matter their appearance. Funny how decent human beings never look repulsive.

Stepdaughter didn't look like she had the brains to empty the bank accounts. I think her witness was the mastermind.   Did they even say who that woman was?   Also, who goes to court regarding bank accounts with out proof that you had the right to take the money out.  Someone who is in the wrong does.

Right! That's OK that you don't know—but JJ is a billionaire who, unlike the rest of us, probably has an A/V guy come to her home and set up her entire system. I'm certain at some point, the person pointed out to her the subwoofer that's sitting out of sight somewhere in her mansion. Then again, it's possible she's got an antenna perched up on her roof to get good reception from her 1973 Zenith — the one she makes Jerry manually change the channel on. "Jerry! See what's on the UHF channels tonight! I've seen this Law & Order episode twice already!"

Stepfather seemed shady too.  Who takes a close to $40,000 joint bank account and puts it in only one person's name?

Someone who doesn't want to have any discoverable assets.  *cough*IRS*lawsuit*cough*

Exactly what I thought as well...there's a reason he had his terminally ill wife open an account in her name only.....

For sure there's a reason. When asked why he opened a bank account in the name of someone who is dying and put all the money in it, "Well, I thought.... Um I just did it... wanted it that way.... *trailing off mumble mumble* I guess it IS really hard to come up with a logical reason for doing something so bizarre.

The beast shouting from the sidelines was def's "friend" and she saw it all! She was a witness! I'm positive she wasn't there because stepdaughter offered her a few dollars to say she witnessed the transaction.  I was really shocked JJ didn't have Byrd give her the old heave-ho.

Late to the discussion but just wanted to add one thing about brother/murderer/prisoner/lothario.

In grad school part of my internship involved visiting a prison (the other half was visiting a mental hospital but that's another story for another day) where we'd get our counseling chops by talking and assessing the mental health of prisoners.

I maintained my professional demeanor because I had no interest whatsoever in someone whose dating habits included a three-inch plexiglass wall but I also had a mentor who was miles ahead of inmate in the prison system.  He knew what to look for and what to look out for....I was not bamboozled by the inmates but one of my fellow grad students was getting a little too chummy with an inmate.  Nothing happened but when our supervisor noticed it - she pulled her out of the program immediately.

Point being, while in prison the inmates have time.  Time to perfect their 'act' with family members and all those women who are looking for someone who isn't going to stray.  Couple that with a double-wide trailer, a few candles and sweet talk and it's no wonder there are kids running around without a participating dad and family members who will swear on a stack of bibles their relative is as innocent as a Shirley Temple movie.

Plaintiff sister was one of many who travel to and from prisons on a weekly basis.  It's just that in most of our worlds we don't encounter people like her.

Another reason why I chose not to work for the court system.

I have friends who are wealthy and wouldn't have a clue, or a care, about that kind of stuff, as long as it works. They make me laugh, when I complain about my snowblower needing repair they ask why I don't just get a plow service, not that they are being snobbish, they truly don't understand because they don't have to deal with it.

When I was working as a contractor on a military base that included a federal prison whose inmates (mostly white collar crimes) did grounds work around the base, we were all briefed that while there is no need to be rude, we should not get into conversations with the inmates if we ran into them because as smart as we may have thought we were, they were some of the top of the line con men and hustlers and could probbaly persuade us into doing almost anything. Maybe a bit overstated, but a good piece of advice. Hustlers are not all stupid.

Sort of like expecting JJ to empathize with complaints about long waits at the airport because of TSA - while she sits in her private jet to fly from her Florida home to film in California.

Which reminds me of a chance celebrity encounter I had years ago. I was a young soldier being transferred from San Antonio to Ft Campbell. This was at end of Vietnam, when soldiers were still required to wear our uniforms when traveling on military's dime - but it was not rare for antiwar protesters to give a soldier a hard time. Anyway, here I was, duffel bag over my shoulder, both hands full of everything I owned, hurrying through the Nashville airport. Little old guy carrying a violin pats me on the arm and thanks me for serving as he hurries in other direction. No entourage, just a little old man alone walking through the airport with a violin case. Takes me a minute to realize it was Jack Benny... by then he's out of sight

Currently on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, one of the howives is dating an incarcerated con man.  Barely dated him before his unfortunate misunderstanding with the law.  Now he is all out in love with her and she is eating it up, and using it for her story line.

I really need to stop watching repeats, since they piss me off more the second time around. The repulsive troll, David Jannish, is suing his pill-addicted prostitute, Jessica. She agreed to screw him 3 times a week in exchange for a VW Jetta. It would all be amusing - disgusting, but amusing - if that pig didn't have a 7-year old child being forced to live with the amoral, over-priced hooker/addict that is Jessica. And Jessica? You don't look cute pulling your head in like a turtle. It just makes all the loose skin under your chin crumple and wrinkle up. You idiot - here you had a desperate fool willing to shower money, cars and phones on you in return for a few quick screws a week and you messed even that up. Trust me, even though you think you're a hot property, no one else will think you're worth a dime.

Does no one care about these innocent kids? Obviously the horny David did not, as long as he got his wee willy properly excerised often enough.

Yes. People who agree to appear on these shows become public figures and are thus fair game for comments, including regarding their physical appearance. It's a bonus when they also display depths of moral turpitude, as I would say about 70 % of JJ litigants do, including the two goiter people (although it was in fact very fat necks).

Some people like to pretend (or really believe) that it is far below them to care about such piffling details as technology and how objects around them really function; I find that attitude to be more prevalent amongst the wealthy, the liberal professions or the literary/artistic community. They may even consider it vulgar to be interested in such matters and that it why they have people to deal with them.

Good grief the landlord on the episode today was either a HUGE busybody or has cognitive issues. Calling a house meeting the night your tenants move in to confirm he knows everyone living there wow. I think he was still confused about the identity of Travis even now!

Or both.  He might improve his cognitive status if he picked up a book or something, rather than Gladys Kravitzing his unfortunate tenants all day.  No wonder they did most of their business under cover of darkness.

Omg I’ll tske my old crazy never can be found California landlord over that crazy dude any day.

I live in military housing now and they aren’t that nosy.  They’re actually more on the hard to get to fix stuff side.

I had a neighbor like that landlord and he’d be just like that if he had a rental property.

I was thinking I couldn't possibly have heard that right, that those people admitted that she was a hooker and he was her john. That was better, in a horrifying sort of way, than the guy who admitted he watched a lot of porn on his phone on national TV, but sheesh her poor kids. Wouldn't CPS get involved in a case like that, now that they've aired their dirty underwear (twice) for everyone to see?

That landlord was so confused about the most basic details and procedures that he has should not be in the business of renting accommodations, nor in any form of business activity as a matter of fact. I wonder how he is able to function in everyday life.

After JJ verified Travis' identify, it did not seem to register with him. Even if the plaintiffs had been the usual renters from hell or engaged in some form of deception, they would not have had to endure dealing with him.

He struck me as someone with dementia issues.

I wondered if he was just one of those landlords who thinks he is entitled to dictate how his tenants live. He entered the property without their knowledge or permission while they were moving out which prompted them to call the police who told them to just leave it and get out. I would have left immediately too, he gave me the creeps.

I honestly could not tell if he had dementia or if he presented this foggy demeanor because he thought he could get away with it. I saw a look on his face at times like "oops I'm in trouble" and he'd suddenly be confused again.

I too wish we had heard more about what the police said to the plaintiff. Dang hearsay!

There may be public record if his information was shown on screen.  I deleted the ep, so I can't help.

@Brattinella yes I think after he broke in they didn’t do Back and JJ gave them back Mays Rent since he’s the reason they didn’t go back.

Same reason the mess was ok, he had gone in while they still had the right to be there and then kept them from returning.

Case of mother Aguirre vs daughters Ramirez:  I'm glad JJ immediately shot down the mothers ridiculous claim that her daughters destroyed their rooms and she wanted compensation.  Lady, you are wasting our time with your crap.

The Ramirez sisters gave me a very creepy feeling, particularly the 30 year old Candelaria, who is a candidate for  the 2018 "Defendant With the Harshest Eyebrows" Award - she hardly moves her mouth when speaking.  The younger sister Rachel needs to get an intensive hair conditioner treatment STAT.  Their internet BF's... oy.  Both looked like weed-head serial killers.

Their whole situation is half icky and half sad; 30 year old and 19 year old sisters shacked up with two goons.  The sisters being roommates despite their age difference is kind of strange but who knows what they had to endure growing up that keeps them in their symbiotic relationship.  They'll play house for a while but I feel confident that before long they'll be on the phone, calling Mommy from Texas and asking if they can get their old rooms back.

The two Princes Charmings looked flea-bitten and not the brightest bulbs in the box; but apparently they were attractive enough for the two sisters, who must have been really desperate to get out of that house if they decided this was their only means of salvation. After watching this case, I think that taking a shower is in order, perhaps with some bleach and a good scrubbing.

Lordy, the two in lurve with the Manson Brothers.  And one is knocked up - either with Manson #1 or some previous love of her life.  I hope they never made it to Texas. We have enough troubles here already without those four coming in for landings.

Yet they all got spiffy trips to LA and a boatload of cash.  Ick.

The cat and its passing were barely mentioned. The slutty ignorant daughters briefly mentioned "suspicious circumstances " in the hallterview, but there was so much acrimony between them and mom that who knows if mom or stepdad truly did anything to kitty.

Sorry I steered you wrong, chenoa33.  I ended up watching it, and while that statement was made (by dear old Mom), there were no pictures or description of poor kitty.  Those two daughters (and their peen-persons) were pretty awful.  I think JJ's ruling was wrong; they REALLY trashed their rooms, by apparently tipping the contents of multiple litter boxes and painting all the walls different colors.  It was never proven that either of those two ingrates paid ANY rent or utilities, so I don't understand.  Daughters were 19 and 30, btw.  Certainly not children.
