You missed the point. She shouldn't say anything about fans.  Period.  They can like whomever they like and if she gets grief about it?  Suck it up and rise above it.  But Kelly?  Nah, she'd rather throw shade instead.  Kelly does not have the market cornered on victim-hood.

She was asked specific questions.  She didn't randomly start badmouthing fans.  And as far as I heard, she simply said that talking shit about Sam and Liz is one thing, but when it becomes hate toward her and Becky it's not cool.

How dare she stick up for herself and her coworker?  She knows it's HER fans that are prob the ones that badmouthing Becky so she said something.  I guess since she's an actress she should just sit there and look pretty.  At an event where fans pay to hear her answer questions.

I was also under the impression that KeMo was essentially asking fans to be respectful of herself and BH. It's one thing to criticize the characters, but another to bash the actresses.

And what I've always found sad about the bashing of KeMo/BH by some fans is it's not even about them. It's about the character of JASON. JASON, Y'ALL.

Ugh.   Seriously.  Which is really all Sonny's fault.

It goes with being in the public spotlight.  She's a big girl.  Not some fragile snowflake.

The people above me pretty much stated all the things I was going to say. No one was playing the victim. Fans asked questions and she responded to them. She also respectfully asked the fans to leave her and Becky alone. They are not their characters. Hate Sam/Liz as much as you want but leave the real actress out of the equation.

Seriously, why can't I unquote myself out of this!?

And the kicker is she wasn't talking about Sam.  She was talking about herself, Kelly.   SHE gets called a whore because of her past and she specifically mentioned both playboy

Which is hilarious, because Becky played Barbi Benton in a Hugh Hefner biopic about a year after she joined GH--a woman who was his long time girlfriend, at that.

SOD posted its interview with RoHo.

http://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/roger-stadium/

Some takeaways: he's still a very private person.

He credits Erika Slezak with Helping him learn  at OLTL

He enjoys working with Stafford, admires her and hopes the show revisits Franco and Nina. Also likes working with BH, thinks she brings intelligent choices to the character.

says Frank told him not to cut his hair because Jake was going to want to grow his hair to look like Franco. But that was months ago and he thinks they changed their minds. Now it's just laziness that keeps his hair longer, but he thinks it works because he shouldn't look the same in each romantic pairing.

funniest thing: casting director Mark Teschner attended a music and arts camp where RoHo's father wa directing a play and says he babysat for a 6-year-old Roger. Although Howarth says Teschner was dating his sister and did very little babysitting lol!

Noooooooo Roger noo

Roger's family hair person lives in NY and he's in LA.   I loved his kudos for ES.  Mainly because it confirms that Erika Slezak is sunshine and everything.  But I do love that Roger listens to Kendrick Lamar and Chopin, and hasn't decorated his dressing room.  He's a breath of fresh air in an industry dominated by egotistical airbags.  Too bad he's playing Franco.

...who said it was so bad she couldn't use social media at all? And what do nude pics have to do with anything?

Oh, right, I know. Kelly Monaco has posed nude, so she's a dirty whore who deserves to be slut-shamed online!

Sadly, I'm sure she's used to it. I'm sure she blocks and ignores. That doesn't excuse the trolls who do that shit in the first place and I'm a little disturbed at the apologist attitude.

Never said she deserved the trolling nor did i call her a whore but the nude pics as well as the softcore porn are what is used to troll her. And let's not pretend Playboy is empowering to women or she took a feminist stand. She exploited herself for some cash and fame as a way to enter the industry knowing fully well people would have varying opinions of her based on that decision.

Plenty of actresses and actors deal with hurtful comments online every day. They just ignore them and don't give attention to them whatsoever cut that's what those trolls want. And was not the reason she used for not being on social media mean comments from people?

Franco refuses to let Jordan and Valerie search his studio, because of course he does.

I thought that was actually a good idea, whether Franco is guilty or not. He shouldn't let the PCPD steamroller his rights just because he's an obvious target. I'm all for forcing the PCPD to maintain some sort of legal standards.

Just watched.  I really admire her for constantly challenging herself with new projects that put her behind the camera.

It's awesome to see her accomplishing these goals. And I also respect how private she is, but it's nice to see her opening up, as well, about her family life and her background. Sometimes those are the hardest things to discuss, but you'd be amazed by how relatable these things are to everyone.

KeMo interview: http://michaelfairmansoaps.com/news/exclusive-ghs-kelly-monaco-opens-up-about-jasam-lizsam-fan-wars-public-perception-whats-up-with-those-fainting-spells/2016/08/05/

Some of my fave parts, but the whole interview is great.

I think it’s been unfortunate for Billy that he has had to wait as long as he had to actually play the character of Jason, and not “Jake”.

I don’t remember the last time I have seen Danny! (Laughs)  One day Sam tucked him into bed, and I have not seen him ever since.  I had to sing this lullaby, and I did not know what I was doing. (Laughs)  And, this was to the new kid playing the part.  I am like, “Oh, Hi child. What’s your name? You’re five years older than the other kid!” (Laughs)

I also want to say, while the fans seem divided, I just want everyone to know that Becky Herbst is probably one of the top three closest friends that I have.  So, it’s interesting that our fan base is in turmoil.

However, there is a part of the story that is being taped right now that I can’t discuss at this moment.  I don’t know where they are going with it, but if they go through with it there is really something I would like to play, because I don’t think its been played before on General Hospital, but maybe it has on other soaps.  I don’t know.

In my role as Sam thus far, I haven’t been able to step outside my character, and be outside of my character’s morals and values, but this would give Sam a reason to step outside of that.

From the RoHo interview:

Howarth: Yeah, but it’s funny for me. What I’m hunting for, what I’m looking for, is the experience of leaving the set knowing we all did a great job together. I don’t need to watch the show to confirm that it happened.

Sure you do Rog.  He owes it to the viewers to watch the show and see how horrible both Franco and Nina have been.

If he means this, then he's sure got some 'splainin' to do, not only for so much of the crap he's subjected us to, but for the times he's tried to pull focus from the other characters in the scene.

All I’m going to say is when we were taping those scenes at Helena’s bedside, and Constance Towers (Helena) was doing her dialog, and she is like, “I curse you Samantha ….”   I go, “This is really going on, isn’t it?  I’m being cursed!”

LMAO! I don't know how anyone made it through those damn Helena bedside scenes.

They are so against each other, and it’s partly why I stay off social media.  It’s really, really brutal, and there is bullying on both ends.  Even if you are just talking about a character, some of the language that is being used is so inappropriate.  But they are super passionate, and if these fan factions really hate each other then I guess we are doing our job well.  It’s the nature of the beast, but as long as they are character-driven remarks and not personal.  It’s not good at all when they attack us personally.  However, I can’t win with some of the critics.

Quote

I have been for a decade trying to think about this.  You either love me, or hate me, and there is no in between.   I feel like people really don’t know me.  The assumption people make of me, because of my past in Playboy, Maxim, and on Dancing with the Stars.  They have this image in their head of who I am; I’m not married, I don’t have kids.  Some people can look at that and see it as something negative.  I think people will take those images, and just judge a book by its cover.  I really think that has a lot to do with it.  They don’t see me in another light.  It could just be my own insecurities that I am thinking about, but I think I’m on to something.

Quote

You chose to do Playboy, Maxim etc, when you were younger.  Do you now regret any of those decisions?

KELLY:  I thought growing up these were all cool decisions, but I wouldn’t necessarily be making the same decisions today.  But it was my path and my story, but I think it comes back to bite me.

It's unfortunate that she even has to say this. I wish some fans would learn to differentiate between fiction and reality and between actors and the characters they play, and that reading an interview or some social media posts doesn't mean they *know* these actors. I also find it she that she might be regretting her decisions to pose in magazines because people shame her for it.

In all fairness to soap fans in general and Becky/Liz or Kelly/Sam fans specifically, fsns of primetime shows, movies, etc do this same shit.  Yet only the soap fans are considered fringe and/or crazy.

That said, "fans" in general across all entertainment mediums problem distinguishing between the person and the character is alarming.  Even worse are the vitrolic attacks against anyone that is perceived to slight their fave.

Most of the time, it's love triangle stories that garner a certain reaction moreso than anything else. That tells me everything. It's not really about the actor. It's actually more about fans attacking each other and using that person's fave to "hurt" them. "Your fave is ugly! Fat! Too skinny! Doesn't know how to act! Mean to fans! Dumb! X actor doesn't even want to work with her! X actor loves MY fave not yours!"

I loved her comments on the SORASed Danny. I also agree with her that Helena might not be most sincerely dead.

That picture of Sam in a wedding dress and Jason in his stupid black T-shirt and leather jacket really says a lot. I always hated Jason's childish dislike of wearing anything other than his usual clothes.

  • Love 4

tbf, that was the night before their wedding and he stopped by while she was trying on her dress.

I really like that KeMo watches her co-stars scenes and tries to keep up with the show - especially after that dumb RoHo quote.

I do think SBu was right about the pacing of the Sam/Jason pairing. It was well done and I think it's one of the reasons they have such a loyal fan base

Definitely. I always thought Sonny/Sam/Jason was kind of gross on the face of it, but the writers put in the right effort to make Sam/Jason work.

I hated everything about Sonny/Jason/Carly by that point, so I didn't care about Jason or any of his ships, but it's nice that SBu knew what the fans wanted to see and what I always preach: slow-build.

I loved that Robin and Maxie made him wear a tux for Spinelli and Maxie's non-wedding.

KeMo knee when she did all that stuff with Playboy there was a stigma against that and not everyone would praise her for it. She kne when she did Maxim she was putting herself in the position of a woman for men to oogle.   When she did DWTS the second time she sold the image of sex more than dancing. And all through she was also an adult.  It's don't feel sorry for her. You can't build something up as your image for years and then get sad because that's all people see you as.

What the ever loving fuck was that exchange about???? They both need to grow the hell up!

The person he was replying to apparently photo shopped a fake DC page saying Becky was leaving GH.  Should Jamey have responded like he did?  Absolutely not.  But the other person is no angel either.

New to the forums, but a long time lurker. I had to post to report what happened on Twitter tonight. Jamey Giddens got his @ss handed to him. It was a Twitter fight over Liason/Jasam. He is so immature for a professional.

Oh, he's not actually a professional.

Blerg at some of the stuff he said.
