Ingo still tilting at that windmill. Now claiming it's not fair since Burton got to come back

Say what you want about Steve and I've said plenty, he didn't burn his bridges. He thanked the show, moved on to Days, came back when GH invited him back. The end.

I'm not necessarily supporting Ingo's suit, but if memory serves,  Ingo also brought Burton's Mona Vie pyramid scheme to light.

But I'm sure no one ever had any long-standing animus toward him for saying or doing something that could potentially cause embarrassment for the higher ups. </s>

He also didn't go on an anti-trans rant, offending his trans costar and a lot of GH fans.

I'm watching the new Netflix/ Ted Danson series "A Man on the Inside" and Marc Anthony Samuel (Felix) is in at least one episode. I had to wait until the credits to place him because the character is fairly chill, LOL.

I just noticed that he's in yet another Netflix project, "Merry Gentlemen." Maybe he fell into the Nexflix honeypot!

Wayne Northrop, Lynn Herring's husband and DOOL and PC alum, died Friday:

Quote

Wayne Northrop, an actor known for his work on the soap operas “Days of Our Lives,” “Dynasty” and “Port Charles,” has died. He was 77.

Northrop died Friday at the Motion Picture and Television Fund’s retirement home in Woodland Hills, Calif., his publicist told Variety.

“Wayne was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s six years ago. He took his last breath in the arms of his family,” a family statement from Northrop’s wife, actor Lynn Herring Northrop, reads. “We wish to thank the most caring and amazing place, The Motion Picture and Television Home for taking such great care of him. Wayne touched so many people with his sense of humor and wit. A husband for 43 years, the best dad ever to his two boys, Hank and Grady, and a rancher who loved his cows and was a friend to many.”

Also, SBu/Jason has always been a much bigger part of the canvas than Ingo/Jax has ever been. He has way more connections to the current canvas.  Jax basically lifts right out, as they've proven over and over again over the years. When he's gone, he's "out of sight, out of mind." Not even his daughter talks about him much when he's not on the show.

And Ingo could maybe argue that he's a better actor, or that Jax should have been a bigger player on the canvas, but that's just always been how the show runners see him. It isn't a punishment for his vaccine stance, it's how they treated both men for decades before Covid-19 was ever heard of.

As much as some of us here might not get it, I'd bet the show can also provide some stats on fan reaction/engagement that support the idea of Steve being more important to the show than Ingo. And they can point to the multiple storylines he's tied into right now, and all the character connections he has on screen to show why they felt bringing him back was necessary. Jax's only real connection is Joss, who isn't going through anything major that would necessitate Jax's presence on screen.

This is wild I had a dream that I heard Wayne passed it felt so real and then a few hours later I read it online.

May he RIP

I preferred WN's Roman with Marlena on Days and this happens two months after Drake no less.

My condolences to Lynn and their kids. This probably explains why the past few years we sparingly saw Lucy it was probably because she was dealing with this in RL.

To add to that (I agree with every word), Ingo/Jax's best run by far was the first one, 1996-2000. In 2000, still in his late twenties, he went directly from GH to a starring role on what may have looked like a sure prime-time hit with Aaron Spelling's Titans. Remember the Titans? Few do, and when it failed, he couldn't find another pilot.

He wasn't the first or last soap sensation to find limited prospects beyond daytime. He was back for the first time in 2001, and every time he's left and come back, the character has been a little more watered down and irrelevant.

I never had anything against Jax, the character. I was even predisposed to side with him in a lot of his rivalries. But whatever magic or favored status was there in the Sonny/Brenda/Jax days was gone a long time before Rademacher started posturing like some kind of brave political dissident.

Yeah. And usually I think soap couples can reunite no matter what they've done to each other, but if Jax returned simply to reunite with Carly, he would be a sad, sad, sad pathetic man.

I wonder if that's why we haven't seen Lucy in a while (not that the character has been needed). Poor LH.

apparently she's been filming again, she wanted to, so that was cool of FV.

also apparently the show has asked Kin to return to the show several times and he's refused.

I hate Michael and I think that CD's acting has been on the decline for years. I'm not sorry or sad to see him go. As far as the character goes, it's not like they can't ask Robert Adamson to take over the role.

Nooo he's like a tiny tenth inch improvement on Chad. If they were to recast they gotta get someone new imo.

There’s an unconfirmed story that KeMo is suing ABC and GH. The article claims her lawyers have receipts. I’ll believe it when I see it in SOD with quotes and actual receipts.

Receipts for what?  I saw the unconfirmed story, too, and it said that she believes people behind the scenes "orchestrated her firing."  Um, yeah, that's how it works. Actors on soaps get fired all the time for all kinds of reasons. Unless she has "receipts" that show she was targeted for a protected reason, then she just got fired.

From what I can tell of all the various rumors that have been floating around for a long time, Billy got fired because he was basically the SBu replacement, and the show got SBu back, so the shine wore off of Billy.  This pissed of Kelly, who was apparently very vocal about it and then proceeded to phone in the vast majority of her scenes for the following five years, until the show decided to write her off. There's nothing in there to sue over.

I get that she's pissed, and her fans are pissed. And this was probably made all the more difficult to her because her firing came around a year after Billy's death, but I just don't see anything in that whole story that will win a lawsuit. Personally, I think she's just lashing out because she's hurt, and her fans have rallied around her convincing her that she needs to make someone pay.

@KerleyQ iTA. I said from jump that if she actually had anything her lawyers would have  brought it up at the time of her termination. She’s been talking about ‘spilling the tea’ for months but I haven’t heard anything other than vague promises. I’m sorry she lost her job. I’m sure it sucks, especially just weeks before her 21st anniversary with the show. But thats business.

I agree. And the best thing she could do for herself and her fans, is to just move on without bitterness. She had a great run, years of favored status, and for fans, especially Jasam fans, there is a child on canvas and in story. As fans of GH couples (especially of late) go, the Jasam fans made out well. CM’s Drew should be an imposter.

Oooh is Dex a goner?  Honestly I wouldn’t blame Cyrus for killing him. Dex was all up on his face about the restraining order when it’s none of his business. Cyrus was (at the moment’ doing nothing wrong.

and WTH with Dex being all mopey about Christmas? This isn’t his first Christmas in PC.he and Joss were together last year.

Co-signed.

And the show got a lot of free publicity while chopping KeMo from their budget.  Win win for them.

It kinda looked like it. I don't actually like Jex but they make for easy FF material and I appreciate that.

Michael Cole Dies: ‘Mod Squad’ Star & ‘General Hospital’ Actor Was 84

Michael Cole, who starred as Pete Cochran on the hit counterculture drama Mod Squad and later played Harlan Barrett on General Hospital during a 50-year acting career, has died. He was 84.

His reps at BMF announced the news, but did not provide details.

Born July 3, 1940 in Madison WI, Cole was one of the three young hippies-turned-cops alongside Julie (Peggy Lipton) and Link (Clarence Williams III) in Mod Squad, which debuted in September 1968 on ABC. “One White, One Black, One Blonde” read the promo materials for the series, which was aimed at a youthful audience during a turbulent time. The trio was given a choice: fight crime or be sent to jail themselves. They chose the former, under the tutelage of Capt. Adam Greer (Tige Andrews).

Executive produced by Aaron Spelling and Danny Thomas, Mod Squad tapped into the zeitgeist of the late ’60s, portraying a positive image for the counterculture of the moment by tackling such issues as the Vietnam war, racism and social justice. Linc, Julie and Pete blended into the scene, using stealth to track and capture their targets. It aired for five seasons through May 1973.

Cole continued to work steadily in TV and film, making guest appearances on shows and exploring roles in theater. He had an arc for several months on General Hospital in 1991, playing Harlan Barrett, the crooked chief engineer for Barrett Industries who hooks up with a cartel and is hired to kill Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers). Instead, he is shot dead by Bill Eckert (Anthony Geary), who was protesting his friend Scorpio.

He also guest-starred in dozens of television series throughout his career, including ER, 7th Heaven, Diagnosis Murder, Murder She Wrote, CHiPs, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat and Gunsmoke, which was first major television credit in 1966.

His film work included 2007’s Mr. Brooks and 2000’s The Apostate, among others.

Though his career spanned decades, he remained humble about his achievements, often expressing gratitude for the opportunities he had and the fans who supported him. In 2009, Cole published his memoir, I Played the White Guy, a candid and heartfelt account of his experiences in Hollywood and his personal journey, offering readers an intimate look into his life and career.

Michael Cole is survived by his wife, Shelley; his children; and extended family.

My opinion on KeMo is it's impossible to tell, here from the cheap seats, if it's sour grapes or a legitimate complaint.... that's what the courts are for.

Agreed. If she has a valid, provable complaint, she has every right to seek restitution. I just find it very difficult to believe that Disney’s legal team wouldn’t have dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s before letting her go.
