Fellaway June 30, 2017 Share June 30, 2017 (edited) I dunno, regardless of who gets the ax, it doesn't seem like good politics to get rid of a bunch of people just as you bring back a high-profile oldbie. I mean, for me, there's nothing that's ever gonna endear this guy to me, but for folks on the fence about SB or his possibly being Jason again, axing actors some of these folks might like might just drop them on the wrong side of the fence for the show. Seems like they'd better serve the show by spreading it out over time, if they have to do it. If they're doing it to bring SB back, the more fools they be, because he's sure not worth it. FH might be favorite actress on the show Anna is a mess right now, and FH might be part of the problem to be honest. She wanted Anna out as commissioner because she wasn't solving anything. Well, now she's still not solving anything and instead of being in scenes with people she has chemistry with, she's just making phone calls to off screen people. And supposedly she has said no to a lot of love interests. That said, I doubt they're cutting her. 6 Link to comment

Depending how quickly a storyline can come about, with Kathleen Gati and Rebecca Budig leaving, have Dr. O kill Finn, Hayden goes off screen in sorrow, McBain shows up and arrests Dr. O. 1 Link to comment

Asp Burger July 1, 2017 Share July 1, 2017 Aw, then, I'll be the one who cops to pre-missing Spencer. I like Nicolas Bechtel, especially when Spencer's precociousness isn't being played for laughs or the show isn't confusing obnoxious with adorable. Cheyanne11 July 3, 2017 Share July 3, 2017 Quote Insiders report that contract talks between William deVry (Julian) and GH have reached an impasse — and barring a last-minute change, the scenes deVry shot before GH began its three-week summer hiatus on June 30 will be his last in Port Charles. “Nobody knew it was maybe his last day,” reports a source. “I think we all just assumed there was lots of story planned for ‘Julexis’,” the actor’s popular pairing with Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis). Melgaypet July 4, 2017 Share July 4, 2017 A Friz fan? ...Look, I try not to judge. I'm good with opposing opinions, I don't get offended if people don't share mine, especially about something like a soap opera. Variety is good. A lot of the time I can see where someone I disagree with is coming from. Sometimes I don't. Like, I honestly don't understand why @Bishop thinks the way they do about Michael or about Steve Burton's Jason, but that's not a problem. I've never thought they were stupid or crazy or anything like that (I hope you don't mind me using you for my example, @Bishop) I'm like, "I don't get this, but it's cool." Friz fans, though... they test me. I'm not proud of it, but my knee-jerk reaction is "Um, ew. There's something wrong with you." I know this is judgmental, and so I don't argue about it on social media or the like (and also I just hate arguing anyway, I'm pretty non-confrontational by nature, another in a long list of reasons I would make a terrible soap character). My point is, fair or not, knowing he likes Friz makes me about 1000% more likely to discount his opinions. 9 Link to comment
jsbt July 4, 2017 Share July 4, 2017 (edited) Jamey likes what gets Becky Herbst airtime. I think that's the case with a lot of that pairing's support. He isn't too into Franco but he tolerates him because he's had Roger Howarth hyped to him for years by Ron and Frank (he did not watch Howarth's original run at OLTL pre-2011). I think Jamey is just down on GH period with Frank at the helm and thinks it's rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic betting on this surefire cure-all or that while the show remains a very cheap, uninspiring muddle. While we have different motives for feeling that way - Jamey is ride or die for Ron Carlivati and blamed everything that went down there on FV after the fact after years of praising his decisions - I largely agree with that sentiment. As I've said before, with Liz and Franco, I think a big part of it is that the separate fandoms of those two actors/characters would ship them with anyone, especially because they used a lot of the "classics" - Roger Howarth is good with kids, two outsiders bonding against "the haters", etc. - when putting them together. And it's not like they don't have chemistry, but it just makes no narrative sense to me that Liz, tumor or no, would ever touch the man who kidnapped her newborn son. You've already got one boring guy playing him. Leave it alone. I think BM is miscast. He'd good, but Jason is a very boring character. You can't play him as he's written black and white because Jason isn't just a brain damaged murderer, he's built up as this stud romantic hero. But you can't play to that because he's a feared mob guy. Also, they don't talk about his brain damage unless they need to put him in peril for whatever reason. He interacts with Sonny or women who worship his penis. Who the hell can play that? Let Steve do it. BM would be a better Lucky or AJ (which lets be real, if we have to buy half the bs on this show, a thirty something BM playing AJ is easier to swallow- especially when a 19 year old is still 10) This show probably get cancelled unless they make big changes. The mob is out. Table Sonny. 6 Link to comment
dubbel zout July 5, 2017 Share July 5, 2017 The show hasn't considered Jason brain-damaged for a very long time, IMO. The more recent brainwashing gets mentioned only as a plot point, and even so isn't much of a factor for anything. Sam is having more trouble with her PTSD/PPD/Helena's curse than Jason has ever had with his brainwashing. But then, Sam is a wimmins, not the Savior of Port Charles. 5 Link to comment
