Every day the show starts the same way.  What is Trump doing? What is he going to do? Say?

This morning Mika giddy that 15,000 showed up for his rally.  No, says Joe, only 10,000 because some had to be turned away.

I kept waiting for them to say, up your nose with a rubber hose, Ted Cruz.   Because that's just the kind of thing Trump would say.

There is some debate over the origin of that quote but it certainly applies to Meeka this morning, as it does most mornings. She is running the gamut from shrill to dismissive. re playing golf or following golf: "Who does that? Strange sport."

Donnie Deutsche bragged today that Mika slept in his bed for the promo they did a few years ago & that Joe was in the room. IIRC, Mika woke up next to Donnie in his bed & looked horrified. I think that was a dumb commercial & I am surprised that she allowed herself to be filmed doing that.

 

The big news today was that Joe got to sleep in for an hour because it is his birthday tomorrow, Joe also wore a navy blue sweater for the occasion. Mika wore a low cut violet top with a black cape.

 

Joe thinks that Trump can turn around his unfavourable ratings faster than Hillary because he has not been in politics as long as her.

 

Bernie Sanders was on. He was happy & said he was nice to Hillary by not bringing up the email scandals & the linton fundraising scandal. He said the Clinton campaign was too negative on him.

 

Cackles was on the show earlier saying that she met with Republican operatives. She said that Trump has to hire experienced people to run his campaign. I doubt Trump or anyone else would hire Cackles after she stabbed Palin in the back in 2008.

 

Donnie Deutsche mocked Bernie for not having a detailed plan to break up the banks on his first day in office.

 

Mika started off the show by trashing Ted Cruz making Matzo for Passover. She hates his delivery.

I think Mika reads this forum.  Kornacki came on the show with Hallie Jackson at 8:30. Mika complimented Kornaki for wearing a sweater like Joe. Mika said the network was upset that Joe dresses poorly & refuses to wear socks on the show. Donnie threw a newspaper at Joe after Joe accused him jokingly of beating his girlfriends & running a cocaine ring from Columbia. Mika said Donnie was a total Pervert. I have no idea that the whole Scarborough and Mika bump-n-rub routine is about or whether it has ever gone further than the randy lap dog and an unsuspecting bolster pillow.  I think it just titillates her in a weird way.  Scarborough though does have a history of being a huge cheater though doesn't he?  On the first wife.  On the woman he was cheating on the first wife with and wasn't there a woman he is rumored to have dabbled with during the first hints of this last failed marriage's cracks?

 

I find it rich that Scarborough thinks blind over-determined blatant support for a candidate is an issue.  His self-awareness needs to crawl out the ass of his own hypocrisy . 

 

And more Loch Ness meets Bigfoot on an anal probing space saucer tales regarding how so many people are so loving Drumpf on the progressive side.  Even if this was true it would mean some rather odd people who identify in the year 2016 as a Democrat and find Drumpf's racist, misogynistic, bigoted blinded ignorance on any matter what they desperately want in the White House.  Why does he keep spinning what are such obvious lies?  Can he help himself?  It amazes me that a man with his own tv show that has been given pass after pass still can only feel validated if he makes stories up that support his view.  He must be such an empty little turd.  No wonder he looks like his drinking has increased going from the hangdog appearance, sagging skin and nose that could light Santa's sleigh.

I had not read that story about Mika's post college romances. I think she got married at a young age.

 

I do recall one day on the show, Mika told a story about her dad setting her up with the son of the Prime Minister or President of Lebanon. He spent the summer with her in the South Of France & bought her bikinis. It was weird.

He may not go full stump speech on emails and Clinton Foundation but he makes sure to bring them up in interviews to ensure people are thinking and talking about them. Bernie is so thin skinned. He either suffers from a massive ego or crippling insecurity, I haven't quite figured it out yet although I'm leaning towards the ego. In numerous interviews he still insists on repeating the lie that Hillary said he was unqualified and even when it's pointed out to him that she didn't, he whines about her playing dirty or some such ridiculous thing. The Clintons are master politicians and have been for years. If they wanted to go negative on him, he'd find out what negative really is and his jowls would never stop quivering. As it is, I'm sure they are thrilled that the whole conversation has been turned to qualifications because that's the substance of Hillary's whole campaign. He's playing on her terms now and in a qualifications contest between the two of them, she's going to crush him.

I briefly saw Jeffrey Sachs on the show and he had this smug little smile on his face when he told Joe yes, he had been hired on to the Sanders campaign as an advisor. That happened, right? I didn't imagine it? Because I didn't watch all that much of the show.

 

You have to wonder about Sanders judgement because first day or so in, Sachs has already made Sanders look very very foolish. Sanders and his surrogates were all over the teevee yesterday gloating/bragging about the pope inviting Bernie to Rome. Turns out the pope did no such thing and isn't even going to be in town when Bernie makes this crazy two day trip all the way to Europe, in the middle of what is arguably the most important primary of the whole campaign, to sit in on a small academic seminar put on by an obscure organization only peripherally connected to the Vatican. Apparently Sachs arranged the invite. Oops. This has not been a good week for Bernie.

I was catching up on parts of the show that I missed. Mika & Joe were very friendly to Hillary & didn't ask any tough questions.

 

However, I found it odd that Mika said that  her younger daughter, Emily was obsessed with Hillary. That is very strange. Mika never mentioned this before since Hillary started running last spring.

 

I am curious why Joe & Mika feel it necessary to mention that they have relatives supporting various candidates. Does it make Hillary feel better that Emily supports her ? Does Trump care that Joe's brother supports him? Who cares that Nicole Wallace's parents support Trump? I don't see Chuck Todd saying that his cousin supports Bernie or whatever. It's odd.

Bernie is running AGAINST the Democratic Party which is why he does not intend on raising any money for them. I say Reid and Pelosi wipe the floor with this Socialist, but I know nothing.

But I think voters are beginning to get how important the local elections are andthe Democrats and not just Hillary's camp need to drive home repeatedly how her fundraising is crucial to getting these Democratic state representatives elected, and that she has been more than doing her part to see that happen. Chris Mathews is right, these voters need civics lessons and dots connected. Nobody is changing the rules for their Johnny- come-lately militant asses on both sides of the aisle. Newsflash, these rules aren't new. And good luck to the ones on the right, because it's not new that the Republicans can change the rules, completely wiping out the previous rules. Newsflash, that shit "ain't" new either and nobody is changing them because they're angry.

Please, a revolution doesn't mean shit if you don't have enough seats in the senate and house to get legislation passed. Again, big ideas by Bernie but no follow through. That fool is trying to literally change our two party system and this voter wonders who in the hell does he think he is?

I'm fine with him wanting to change how our politics is conducted but he's trying to go beyond that, and I'm NOT here for it.

I would like Morning Joe to freshen up the panel. I am getting tired of watching Harold Ford JR & Mike Barnicle. They don't say anything interesting. Cackles is annoying. Where is Moyadin? Did Joe ban him from the set ? I know Joe hates Richard Engel. I noticed that Arianna Huffington hasn't been on the show in a long time. They also had Tina from the Daily Beast. I also liked Katrina Heuvel . She used to mix it up with Joe.

 

The show hasn't discussed the issue of Bernie Sanders running as an independent if he loses the nomination.

I would too, but I think they've lost all credibility and have insulted or pissed off  so many of the guests that previously made this show great.  Which is why I'm sadly left hate-listening to it.  Last time Katrina VanDen Heuval was on, Joe was incredibly smug and condescending.  They insulted previous bff of the show Senator McCaskill so badly that we haven't seen her since before she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  I don't even like Tom Friedman, but he rarely shows up any more - and on and on down the list.  Now we get Fox cast offs like Willam Kristol.

 

If you want to see a lot of the gang that used to show up on Morning Joe - look at CNN or even CBS This Morning.

 

Tina and Arianna didn't even show up for the bullshit "Know Your Value" shenanigans, that should tell you something.

I think the Know your Value seminar is a waste of time because Mika doesn't apply the values in her own workplace.

 

Where's Mika's dad? Is he sick? He hasn't been on the show in a long time.

 

They need someone on the show to discuss all the delegate shenanigans. Trump hired a new guy who was on President Ford's campaign. Mr Manaford should be a guest.

 

Joe should admit to viewers that he was wrong about the GOP nomination. He said if Trump won a few states at the beginning, the race would be over.

 

I wish I could access the TWOP forum. I remember doing detailed recaps then, so I know they had very good guests back in 2009 & 2010.

Ba ha ha, nothing like Monday morning shenanigans.  Focusing on Trump's "commanding lead" in NY and PA when Clinton's leads are just as big and then a bunch of bullshit about the super-delegates which is meaningless as Clinton has a 210 lead in pledged delegates.  The GOP wishes they had super delegates (more unbound delegates) right now.  They focus on Wyoming without showing how Clinton received as many pledged delegates which was that Sanders didn't have a big enough win in the congressional districts to get the 4-2 vs the 3-3 allocations.

 

Excuse me Joe, there are not "scores" of agents on the case, there are approximately 12.  You've been debunked.

It surprised me, though it should not have, when Joe spent so much time on the Wyoming delegate story this morning. There was some discussion about the Republican side but he went on a rant about the Democratic side. Mika acted a little weird towards the panel especially Nicole W. It was very strange. It wasn't clear what she was trying to do. If Trump and Sanders don't like the rules maybe they should have joined their parties a few years ago, and help define or fix the process. It is amusing that they took advantage of a structure already in place, one that they did not support, and are now crying foul.

Joe went on a rant at the Democratic party rigging Wyoming with the Super Delegates.

Joe said that the GOP will regret allowing Cruz to steal delegate in South Carolina.

Mika hates golf & doesn't understand why people spend so much time  on one hole

Halperin said that Trump could challenge the delegate seating.

Joe was mad at he Boston Globe fake Trump news.

 A new guest came on to explain Cruz's strategy. You can win delegates  Bronx with 285 votes.

Eddie Glaude discussed the Clinton crime law. Superpredator is a bad word for African Americans.

Joe was outraged at the Democratic party for saying that the GOP disenfranchises voters in some states when the party itself has too many Super Delegates.

 

Joe explained why Southern Democratic Governors were tough on crime in the 90's.

 

Joe said there is too much black on black crime in Chicago. Mika said that Bernie has better policies on crime than Hillary

 

In the final 30 minute segment, Joe went back to wearing fleece.

What was Joe's point when he worked himself up into full hurricane-level bloviation mode, bellowing about waterboarding and torture?  He said he was exhausted of the topic and to discuss it was... something or other.  I just... I just couldn't so I flipped the channel.  Mika was leaning away from him and had an "Oh Lord" look on her face as she could tell he was winding himself up.

Also, and I have no idea why this isn't widely reported and accepted as fact, the KSM story where he spilled the beans under torture is apocryphal.  It didn't happen that way, yet Joe and Cackles claim it did as "proof" torture works.

What is it with Joe and his clothes?  It is like he is trying for the frat boy look and that they want to portray the show as a sort-of Animal House compared to CNN and the dreaded Fox.  Meekaah is the sorority queen.  Le'ts hope that someday she doesn't end up as Mrs. Senator Blutarski.  Wait, maybe we can all hope/pray/fantasize about that.

 

Joe is wearing a navy blue sweater today. Mika is wearing a black sweater today. Mika said she loves Ted Cruz's oratory.

 

I have no idea  why he dresses so poorly on the set.

Smirky Kristol is on the show. He called Joe the Ted Cruz of Pensacola.

 

Smirky mocked Joe for his support of Trump. He said he hated having to bow down to Trump with 37% of the vote.

 

Joe thought the rules in Colorado were bad for picking delegates.

 

Cakles was on the show. They said that Hillary is doing well in NY.

 

Joe said he was right about Trump & everyone else was wrong after Wisconsin.

...nothing can make me like Ron Fournier, but I have a little more respect for him.  It is really hard for men to give up their idealized child when they are handed a child with something like autism spectrum disorder or other tough diagnoses.  It's really hard for the mother, it causes much strife in a marriage.  I'm touched that he stepped up and impressed that he was able to acknowledge that all three of our last presidents are good fathers.

 

I'll go back to hating him on his next visit to Morning Joe.

Anybody have an update on Morning Joe's' numbers?  How are they doing?  Have the numbers dipped now that the show was forced to (guilted into) stop being a doormat for Trump?

I get it. John Heilemann is only allowed to be on MJ if Mark Halperin is there sitting next to him so Halperin can stomp on Heilemann's toes if Heilemann says anything rational.

So apparently Mrs Clinton and Mayor DeBlasio made a wildly racist joke while doing a skit?  According to a very very serious Mika-reading-the-news-seriously.  Giving every syllable weight and drama.  Joe shook his head and frowned and looked into the camera very seriously. 

But I turned it off and went to the gym, figuring it was all horse shit because these two are partisan fools.  I haven't seen anything about it anywhere, so what happened?

It was a skit, it was written for them.  Clinton teased deBlasio about taking his time to endorse her, he came back with "I was on CP time" Leslie Odom Jr interjected that he didn't like jokes like that and Clinton came back with "cautious politician time".

 

The joke wasn't very well received.  It's worth saying that a) DeBlasio and Clinton are both notorious for being late, and b) DeBlasio's wife and children are black.

 

Of course, it was just one more thing for Meeka to sneer at Clinton about.

The panel believes Hillary will win NY. They said it was ok for Bernie to keep campaigning.

 

Al Sharpton was happy that Hilary spoke at his conference for National Action Network. Joe said he  gave speeches at the NAN before Hillary.
