I haven’t been to a movie theatre in a year. The theatres in Canada are now offering beer & wine for some films & have better food.

What about warm cookies??

I missed the Oscar segment. Did they talk at all about how this year's show will be less political (according to the producer)? What does that mean? Jimmy Kimmel is the host, and he isn't shy about his views. I hope they don't stifle him and the presenters/winners.

Nothing at all like that.   I wouldn't even call it a segment.   A blurb perhaps.

Oh my dear, oakville. If you lived here in 'Murica, you may not so eagerly recap this show each AM! (but we thank you for your service)  In Canada, are assault rifles used to hang pails of warm cookies on them , using the handle of the rifle as a serving device?

Mika and her disdain for Survivor right at 6 am was ridiculous.

Full disclosure I never watched Survivor, it is not my cup of tea. But I do not to anyone's face tell them it's beneath me to watch it, or that they've sunk to a new low.

Mika, if you could get over the fact that you have probably average if not below average intelligence, and just accept that instead of trying to hide it with your "tv and entertainment is so stupid I'm too smart to be entertained", just because maybe your parents said stuff like that to you, and berated you for not being a genius, you'd be much happier. If you're going to know your value, then value what you're good at and stop berating people to make yourself appear uber intelligent.

Take the stick out of your ass and enjoy life.  It's okay to not be a member of Mensa. It's okay to watch The Hangover and laugh. It's not okay to treat people like shit because they do.

Spot on, I agree. I sort of get Mika on these levels, I grew up with parents who thought popular culture would trash brains and creativity lol. But I feel self conscious about myself in these situations where significant pop culture moments come up and I'm conversationally useless lol. Mika, on the other hand, seems like she is still trying to find a way to please her parents. It really makes me wonder what she and Joe do or have in common besides the show. Besides shopping at Dicks.

My husband and I worked for airlines for years too. I miss so many of the old airlines and airline travel that was civil and exciting.

It would be nice if Delta could put a lifetime travel ban on that idiot Lt. Governor from Georgia.

The cookies are not warmed.

The good news is that Canada s budget was released & we are moving towards universal pharmacare.

Warm cookies will only be available after surgery.

It's comments like this that make me wish I could like them more than once.

Apparently, Dicks had banned AR 15 sales in 2012 but set up a separate chain called Field & Stream which was selling AR 15's. Now the new chain  will stop selling AR 15's. It's a bit shady.

I know. I am just surprised that F&S was selling AR 15's.

Wednesday Recap. Mika is off & Joe is in the Bunker. The theme is that the "News Gods must be Crazy."

Trump went rogue at a meeting  by supporting Dianne Feinstein & going against the NRA.

Hope Hicks left.  Jared got loans for his business after meeting with Citigroup at the White House.

Kelly wants to get rid of the Trump Tower people and have a professional white house.

Elise Jordan is back.

Trump went after Jeff Sessions for hiring the IG.

Trump watches fox & friends & trashed Sessions.

Joe was probably mad that Trump doesn't watch Morning Joe.

She bragged about going went shopping yesterday at Dick's with Joe's credit card. She is probably wearing a new bathrobe watching the show.

Trump in the boardroom with Dianne Feinstein was hilarious. Trump show have a reality show where he gets to talk with people in a boardroom and fires someone at the end of the episode.

Joe is shouting in the bunker about Trump being too tough on gun owners. You can't grab guns and have due process later to get them back.

Can't the police take away weapons if you are charged with domestic violence or assault?

She's not off.   She is "on assignment."    Afghanistan, no doubt, riding along with an armed peace-keeping convoy.

At the risk of being labeled a bad person, I state for the record that I am tired of watching Eugene Robinson fumble for his words (I felt the same when Dianne Feinstein was fumbling while talking to Trump).

I haven't been watching too much of the show today as nothing could top what happened yesterday afternoon.  Now THAT'S entertainment as the hits just kept on coming.  Amy Klobuchar's facial expressions were just priceless but the best was Pence's after he tried to explain due process to Trump and he basically said yeah, thanks but no thanks.  Good grief, I knew he was bad but there doesn't seem to be any bottom to this particular well of stupidity.

Oakville, I can just see Mika lounging in her camo bathrobe from Dick's . . . hee!

On a side note, Heileman is supposed to be on today according to his Twitter feed.  Maybe he'll fill in for Joe for the last hour so he can join Mika and they can wear matching camo robes.

....because the first visual you get when thinking of fields and streams are assault rifles..

They said Mika was "on assignment.'  Apparently, she was assigned to buy running shoes with Joe's VISA at Dick's.

I heard a long pretzel logic this Am (on CNN maybe) about how it was just a vast coincidence that HH is "Resigning" the day after her testimony.  "Sometimes a banana is just a banana, Anna" (Where is that from?)

Should I reserve the caterer for our Thread party the day KAC gets canned/"resigns?"  You all better Paypal me $20.00 a head now for the deposit on the VFW Hall.

Whineandcheez, unfortunately I believe there are a staggering amount of people that think shooting fish with an AR-15 is a splendid idea.

As for the KAC going away (running away?) party, I am all in my friend.  $20 well spent and I'll even throw in a box of wine just to class things up in her honor.  I hope she wears the same spectacular outfit that she had on for the inaugural (hope she doesn't forget the Carter Page hat) just to make sure we all know how patriotic she is.

Someone upthread (I am old, trying to use a touchpad, and cannot do the "bringing a paragraph/sentence from above down to here)..mentioned Hope Hicks and Robert Palmer videos.  That's it!  I've been trying to figure out who she reminded me of!  My kids were teens in the late 80's/early 90's and I remember the Addicted to Love video.

Yesterday, Mr. Kemper and I were listening to MSNBC in the car.  I don't know who the (male) reporter was, but he was kind of gushing about Hope Hicks.  Poor her, so naive, tried to harness Trump, etc.  Well, if she was a Plain Jane, mousy, wearing glasses, maybe a few extra pounds...I have a feeling these (mostly male) reporters would not be quite so sympathetic.  Someone on MJ this morning hinted at that a little, and Katy Tur kind of shut him down.  Loved it.  And she was wearing bright bright red; Mika would have hated it.

Mika?  On assignment?  These things just write themselves, don't they.  Missed a good bit of the show today; but not to worry.  They just rerun it at 8:00.  And Joe, as usual, disappeared during at least one of the segments.  Please, MSNBC, make MJ get a fresher panel.  Love Eugene Robinson, but he adds nothing.  Neither do Barnicle, et al.  Had to switch to CNN when I saw the Republican Congressman come on.  And guess who was on CNN?  Joe Manchin.  Then I switched to CBS This Morning.  Who comes on? Reba McIntire.  Her twang is a little much for me this early..as is the evening gown.  Love her, but not this early.  To show I am not shaming twangs...I have relatives who have them...Mr. Kemper used to have a bit of one.  Love them.  But again.  Way too early.

Kemper (and millennium), that is so true about Hope Hicks.  She is beautiful but it's all over once she opens her mouth as her voice has the same quality of a female Gilbert Godfrey.  Puts a major chink in the beauty armor.

Too bad you didn't stick with CNN a bit longer as they had the Mooch on.  Sounds like it's an all out civil war in the West Wing.  And I agree about MJ guests (both regular and drop ins).  At least Cuomo and Camarota chase them around a bit as opposed to Friends of the Show interviews on MJ.

I really need to swing by F&F tomorrow, they must each on oxygen by now trying to spin this trainwreck.

It was millennium who made the Robert Palmer video connection, and I agree. Brilliant observation!

Perhaps HH can star in a parody version for all the Trump supporters (Might as well face it, you're addicted to Trump).

I heard someone yesterday (I can't remember which show) saying that the press liked HH and was easy on her (at least until the recent problems with her boyfriend). There was even a clip of one of the White House reporters giving HH a kiss on the cheek as a way of greeting her. The person asked if anyone could imagine a reporter doing that to Sarah Sanders. I'm not sure the point was that HH was attractive but rather that she was a nice (by this administration's standards) person.

WhineandCheez, put me down for $20.00. I'll throw in a key-lime pie, representing my lovely state of residence.

Okay you made me waste my company's time and go searching for a soundbite.  It's that Valley girl intonation--I really think that about 50% of girls/women under 30 have that same intonation. Although, this could be the very first time someone has been "testifying" before a government panel considering Russian collusion, while wearing beachy waves.

Last night, CNN (on Erin Burnett's show) was pushing the story that Hope resigned following a lambasting from Trump for admitting to the committee that she lies for him.  Trump reportedly blew up at her and said "How could you be so stupid?"  And then she quit.

I don't believe in coincidences, like "this has been in the works for months, this just happened to be the day she left."   For the sake of optics alone, a loyal and valued employee of an embattled President would never have resigned the day after a congressional inquiry.

I agree when HH speaks it's like nails on the chalkboard, she is straight up Kardashian.

She was on a Disney kid show or ABC Family show maybe they teach the girls to talk like that. It's insane.

I will give her points for make up, whoever is doing make up for the women of the WW is fantastic.

But she is not some poor babe in the woods, she worked for Ivanka in PR and she's dated Lewandowski and Porter. If anything both those asshole would age a woman 20 years.

She's getting out because she knows a Mueller subpoena is coming and she's trying to save her ass.

Mika on assignment - probably returning all the stuff she bought at Dick's yesterday.  Or she knew they were going to talk about Hope and she couldn't stand to watch a younger prettier woman on screen for 20 minutes.  She'd go straight up Miss Yvonne from PeeWee's Playhouse.

Is she pretty?? Is she prettier than me!!!??!!

Access Maggie lambasted someone for saying this same thing, telling him comments questioning her sources like that are the reason people believe there is "fake news." L-to-the-effin-OL.

You are correct, it was Haberman.   Her credibility is compromised, IMO.   She's Trump's go-to girl whenever he wants something to immediately appear in the New York Times.  He calls her personally.

There must be some quid pro quo there, even if unspoken.   And it may involve accepting some White House claims at face value.

Be wary of Maggie. Her mother is a Rubenstein exec. For those who are lucky enough not to be tuned in to these minute details of NYC life, Rubenstein are (one of?) Donald's PR crisis firm(s?). Also, McMaster's wife works (worked?) for Mother Nancy.

Sorry, that is getting off topic from the show. To wrap it back, there was drama between Joe and Maggie back at the NYE M-A-L visit of infamy. Not that their relationship with Trump wasn't completely eye-rolling, but I always assumed Maggie's issue stemmed from something personal at having to share a personal connection to the man of orange.

Yesterday Josh Earnest was on MSNBC and was practically gushing about Hope Hicks, about how kind she was during the transition period, and he went out of his way to make excuses for her.  There was a moment of silence by the other panelists because I think they were kind of stunned.  I was kinda hoping that Mrs. Earnest had a frying pan to clock him upside the head when he walked through the door.

A side (shallow) note about Hope Hicks:  Depending on the angle, she looks like she might been a man who transitioned into a woman.  It's weird.
