Friday Recap. Groundhog Day. Joe is in the bunker. Mika is Awol licking her wounds.

Katty Kay is the only female on set.

Joe is furious at th memo being released. It will destroy the USA.

Joe said Trump is chicken by letting the House release the memo.

Joe said the generic ballot for 2018 is close to being tied but the GOP is doomed in the fall because Trey Gowdy is retiring. All the key GOP congressmen are leaving.

Joe's hair looks like Trey Gowdy today.

Donnie Deutsh said they will run campaign ads against Trump for releasing the memo.

Someone said the goal is to muddy the waters against the Mueller investigation.

Joe's new talking point is that Peter Strok made Trump President.

Joe said everyone in the FBI is a Republican.

Joe is furious at Paul Ryan & he has lost the support of Steve Schmidt & Nicole Wallace.

Secret Agent Clint said he doesn't want his text messages released to the public. He is mad that Strok 's texts are public.

Barnicle said something irrelevant .

The FBI did a poor job of protecting Hillary during her email investigation. They didn't cover their  trail.

Joe has been ranting non stop at the GOP.

Katty said people are tuning out all the investigations because of the confusions.

I laughed when it was clear Mika isn't on the show this morning.
Joe is on, but isn't on set either.   I may be projecting, but when Willie is their traffic cop, panelists in NYC HQ seem more... relaxed?  Comfortable?  Their postures suggest they are at ease and the length they speak suggests they are comfortable letting thoughts fully unfurl.  And, the other panelists seem to enjoy listening to their colleagues' thoughts.  I guess only Katty's ramrod straight posture hasn't changed.  Every other dude is leaning to his side with his arm on the chair.  Just bros being bros.

I think there should be a contest at MSNBC.  I'm going to take a carpenter's level and a protractor and see who has the straightest posture.  Katty Kay, Heidi Przybyla, or the FBI/Marine/Intelligence specialist/robot.   He gets special credit if I can put the balance on his jar head and his haircut is absolutely flat.

To quote a song from "Company":

And that's what it's all about, isn't it?

Trump, most Republicans in Congress, and the entire right-wing media are doing their best to confuse people or to make them numb.

I actually agreed with Barnicle this morning. I'm not optimistic that the good guys will win.

The good guys have no voice.   No one to match the bad guys blow for blow.  The Democrats need to lose Schumer and Pelosi fast.   You don't bring the AARP to a knife fight.

ME yesterday:  If Mika shows up tomorrow in black my eyes may roll right out of my head.

teddysmom

What is her deal this week with black?  Is she mourning the loss of her dignity?

What I meant about her wearing black was about how actresses and such wear black for the new sexual harassment/Harvey Weinstein movement.  I figured she would wear black to show solidarity for Nikki Hailey. Who was never accused, but allowed Mika her !GOTCHA!! moment yesterday.

Someone on Fox News last night said that Pelosi looked like she was eating Tide Pods during the SOTU.

I am surprised that Joe is allowing the anti Pelosi ads to run on his show.

Joe must be going nuts with the good jobs report & strong wage growth.

Will Joe stay in the bunker for 6 more weeks?

Actually, they use his jar head\crew cut to make the levels.   If its not flat, its the level that's wrong, not the hair.

Why are we wasting all this time listening to Piers Morgan (and by listening, I mean putting the tv on mute and just waiting for Stephanie Ruhle)? Is he really the person to ask about what Britain really thinks about Trump?

I wondered if that was the deal.   The last thing that movement needs is Mika.

She is the epitome of the Peter Principle. I got promoted to the point of not being qualified for my job, but I got a diamond ring and a big raise out of it. Also my boyfriend is in a band!!

What is it with these two!!  They are the supposed "stars" of this show yet Squinty has been in a bunker for, what, two weeks now? and Blondie can't be bothered to show up on Fridays anymore.  I know; it's so exhausting to sit in a chair and make smirky faces at the panel for 2 - 3 hours, four days in a row.  -  I'd like to say that she was too embarrassed to come on today after her throw-down tantrum yesterday, but she's not self-aware enough to realize how assinine she appeared.  -  And please don't tell me  ?Joey ? is on tour.  That would shatter my rock star sensibilities to their very core.  Kermit the Frog has a better voice than he does.

There were long periods of the show when Mika went on tirades about Coca Cola being bad for you & Mika attacking people who ate fatty foods. It was around the time of Mika's book on her eating disorders. Those segments have stopped.

This period was when I started watching the show. I was so inspired by Mika's lectures about soda and fatty foods that I stopped drinking soda and started eating healthily!!

JK!!I remember thinking why a sanctimonious blowhole this woman is!

And she talked about drinking vodka all the time which is NOT part of a healthy diet. Guess Joe had to get her drunk to get her to take him as her side piece.

I had to laugh at Willie this morning. Joe went on a almost 4 minute rant in a split screen w Willie, as if Joe was talking to him. Over 3 minutes Willie sat there ramrod straight, no facial expressions, no facial movement at all as if he were riveted. A true professional, our Willie.

That deal with Mika and Wolff was cringeworthy yesterday. Wolff totally owned Mika. And per usual she is absent this morning.

Mika is completely tied up in her own insecurities about who she is and what she has done, vs. what she wants the world to believe about her.  She wants women to know their value, but we can never not see her with her leg in the air next to Joe in Vanity Fair. She wants women to not socialize with the menfolk or have drinks with them after work, but she slept with her boss. She wants to portray her belief in hard hitting journalism, but she was caught on a hot mic assuring Trump the questions she asked wouldn't be tough. She wants to rage against the fact that Trump has been able to curry favor among some and charm others, yet there she was smiling at a party with him at Mar-a-lago not that long ago. She wants to stand up for women everywhere by showing outrage that one would ponder in a book that Trump is banging someone in his administration, while pondering out loud the very same thing off camera.

And the fact that she is so smug about it all is what is so jarring. The problem Mika is that we see you.

There were weeks when Mika would joke about being on a vodka & ambien Diet.

she was a top supporter of the N.Y. Mayor that wanted to ban Big Gulps.

Joe rants from the Bunker make me laugh. It would be more effective if he showed up on set.

Hes becoming like Keith Olberman. He used to make fun of his”Democracy died tonight rants” during the Bush administration.

Between the two of them, I have to wonder what the percentage is of both of them being on set every day.  Without being "remoted" in.  It's crazy.  And weird.  Nice work if you can get it.  Oh, and let's not forget if you mess up, have a bad day, or get blasted on twitter, you can just take the next day off.  3-day weekends every week.

The kicker is that they don't deserve it, they don't earn it. It's not like they're hard-charging reporters exhausted from a grueling grind, or even journalists. They're wags/pundits. I Do Not Get It.

You know when I first posted that Snowden nonsense I was like "oh great they are going to drone on and on about this" but after reading through the Mediaite link that Oakville posted I realized it really doesn't matter what or who happens on a given day as nothing every changes on this show.  Ever.  I don't even know what either of them wants the show to be anymore as it is a totally different show when they are not around and for me is usually much more watchable.  Going back to the original Mediaite article, I completely agree changes need to be made (minus adding Coulter to the mix, no just no).

I want to give Scarborough props for his ability to keep his train of thought while Mika is scatting in his ear:  He's Newman.  Nothing.  It's a show about nothing.  Seinfeld?  The show?   Nothing.   Then I remember he lives with her.  Tuning her out is probably second nature by now.

The Al Capone's vault montage at the beginning of the show was well done.

Monday Recap. Joe is back on set with Mika!. Who will Mika interview & throw off the set in a huff?

The show did a long clip of Geraldo opening up Al Capoe's Vault.

The theme today is that the "Memo" was a nothing burger & that Trump is still doomed by Mueller.

Last week's theme "Eve of Destruction" if the memo is released is over.

Kasie got a Lightning Bolt intro!. The Eagles won the Super Bowl but Joe did not want to discuss it.

Kasie got mad at him & Joe relented.

The country is united that the Patriots have lost.

Joe was baffled by whether or not the touchdown was a catch. Joe is right about that.

Joe supported the patriots!. He's a Kennedy wannabee.

The Ritz in Philly got damaged. Heilemann told Joe.

Mika did not like the football talk.

Mika said the memo could be worse for Trump.

Joe called right wing media stooges.

Joe is starting to get riled up about the memo.

Joe is mad the National Review & WSJ for supporting the memo!.

Only Joe knows what's going on.

Joe trashed Edward Snowden! LOL!

The Ritz in Philly has been damaged

Paul Ryan has let Joe down!. He is a Policy Wonk Boy Scout gone bad.

Mika has a new strawberry drink. Where is the cocunut water?

Joe is mad at Russian Bots!

Joe called his critics, Cheetos eating tightie whitty living in basements.

At 830 am, there will be a special "Boycott the GOP" segment.

Heilemann said there is too much tribalism in politics.

Heilemann should look at himself in the mirror. He is just as tribal & politicians calling everyone in the GOP traitors.

Joe is explaining journalism with Chinese Wall!

There is no Chinese Wall between Mika &Joe.

Other administrations have dissapointed Joe! No one s good enough for Joe!

Joe is ranting again. the GOP is Obstruction of Justice!

I do prefer the show when they are both on set. Better discususions but Joe won't allow any opposing points.

KCDC is wearing a new piece of Jewelry! Diamond Necklace? . A present from Mr KCDC?

Trey Gowdy is a hero now that he thinks that Trump is not vindicated. Joe has been trashing him for months.

Of course there is a segment by Mika featuring Joe's band in Boston. Mika raised $7,000 for charity. Joe is outraged at Justin Timberlake. Don't play Prince's music. Joe is mad at playing Martin Luther King's speech.

The author that was on in the 8:55 Authorslot was good.  Was it cool that Mika idly paged through his book the ENTIRE TIME he was on?  Didn't, in the old days, didn't the interviewer READ the book in advance, or at least a synopsis prepared by an assistant? Yeah, he spent 8 hours a day for 5 months writing this book and Mika is treating it like it's the March Harpers Bazaar and she's in a doctor's waiting room..

That's her move.  She does this to keep her head and eyes down.  It's her move to excuse herself from the conversation, and the pretense is she's looking through the author's work.

Maybe the overcaffeination and desperate need to urinate explain many of the shenanigans on this show. Just sayin'.

Mika always appears on stage at Joe's performances for no particular reason. On Saturday she came out at the very beginning so that they could kiss (twice), and so that Joe could tell everyone how beautiful Mika is. Apparently Mika came out again at the end to auction off a guitar.

Mika is also rude to actors that come on the show. The show used to have actors come promote movies. Mika had no clue who Bradley Cooper was& called his movie the A squad instead of the A Team.

I am shocked Joe would allow Howard Kurtz on his show.

I remember when he was on to promote Silver Linings Playbook. I don't know if she had seen it, but she said something like "why can't you make more movies like this and not those gross ones".  I think she meant The Hangover, but I'm sure she hadn't seen that one either.

Aboout 15 minutes into the first hour a guest was laying down a chronology and relating how phone surveillance played a part: intercepted calls between a husband and his lover. Yes. The word lover was spoken, in a rather unsavory context. Altho she struggled valiantly, an assortment of micro-expressions was visible on Mika's face.

Awhile later, following some predicting and pontificating, Joe said those who don't believe what he says or who disagree with what he says, the Cheeto-eaters in their tighty whiteys, can go down to their parents' basement and get busy criticizing him online along with the Russian bots. He and Mika know the shots are coming, they're used to it by now so, basically, bring it. Which makes a lot of sense when you think about it, because Joe's only critics are bots and Cheeto-eaters. It has reached the point where I will not be surprised if I hear about H8ers Gonna H8 tweets from these two.
