Buttigieg said Elizabeth Warren is worth 100 times more than him.  Honestly the "wine cave" they showed looks like a standard place for parties and receptions.

Did the gang say anything more about Warren?  In that clip where she tries to attack Mayor Pete she looks exactly like all the worst insults of her.  I would be very surprised if the whole panel didn't punch down on her and dunk on her.

I have done event planning for various employers for over 20 years.  Those places are always a little over the top fancy, because they're for all types of events, fundraisers, wedding receptions, anniversary parties, etc.

When they say "wine cave" it makes it sound like a Bond Villain's lair.

Now that Joe is no longer a Republican, he is continuing his annoying and tiresome campaign to drag the Democratic party to the right to suit *his* sensibilities. I thought Eugene Robinson shot him down very effectively (if a little too politely) on the whole "African American voters are more conservative than people think" nonsense Joe was spouting. What does Joe think, that just because they're more socially conservative than Elizabeth Warren they're suddenly going to stampede over to the Republicans? Is he high?

Eugene was basically saying that as religious and conservative as AA voters are, they don't make their voting decisions based on wedge issues like trans-friendly bathrooms and gay wedding cakes. He was trying to point out that they see the big picture, understand the existential risk Republicans pose to them, and are very practical about backing the candidate they believe will beat Trump.

Mika's praise for Klobuchar seems to be fake.

You can reuse this statement daily--just put a merge field where Klobuchar's name appears.

Mika is very excited for women to KYV, until a woman has a higher perceived value than Mika.  I would imagine "Senator' or "Presidential Candidate Finalist" is of greater value than CoHost of a Breakfast Nook.

would love to see Mika & Joe broadcast from Mayor Pete’s wine cave.

There was no $900 bottle of wine at the event. Most expensive was $185.

Joe & Mika don't show up for anything under $300 a glass.

This weekend is Christmas show, Eddie Murphy hosting. Lizzo is musical guest.

Wow, so I wonder where Warren got that number from?

I would imagine staff looked up cost of wines they sell at the winery. Picked most expensive one and she used it?  Whether or not it was provided at the fund raiser.

Wine caves aren't that big a deal in Napa. They are used for storing wine.

Regarding the chandelier:

I bought a Swarovski crystal necklace at Von Maur for $40.  SNL did a skit where former porn stars try to sell Swarovski crystals on access cable tv.  They're kind of the poor man's version of  diamonds, cheaper than cubic zirconia. What makes them "special" is they are leaded glass, cut by precision tooling to resemble diamonds.

I wish Joe would allow guests with different opinion than his own on the show.

The guests on the show rarely challenge Joe to provide any evidence that his opinions have any merit.

The show used to have guests from both parties on a regular basis.

I hate to say it, but most of the other shows on MSNBC are the same way.  Whether it's the hosts not wanting views in opposition to their own, or potentially contentious guests self-selecting to go elsewhere, I do not know, but I rarely* see exchanges of conflicting ideas anywhere on the network.

(*Chris Hayes occasionally invites a Republican congressman and they go round and round, but that's it from what I see.)

I find it strange that Joe can't even get Biden,Warren or Sanders to appear on the show anymore.

Oh goodness Teddysmom, thanks for posting that clip.  I enjoyed it just as much as I did when it first aired and a giggle on a Friday night is always appreciated!

I so agree Oakville and to be honest the last person I saw challenge (and was allowed to challenge) Joe was Anand Giridharadas.  It was a great conversation/discussion (I think they even blew through a commercial break) and it never happened again.  It's the Joe show now, period.

Not to mention Sen. Klobuchar's suit looks like it has run into an iron in the past few months as opposed to Mika's outfits this week.

Mika is alone in the breakfast nook and off the rails. She is spouting Epstein conspiracy theories, ranting about Bill Clinton, and bringing the full crazy.

There also appears to be a severe lack of oxygen in the breakfast nook as she keeps gasping for breaths during her prompter follies.

I don't know where the Mr. is and I don't care as it was nice to have a discussion about the evangelical eruption over the weekend without Good Ole Baptist Preacher Joe shouting over everyone.

And spare me Bolton's blips about "what's going on behind the scenes at the WH this week".  You got something to say?  Then spit it out now and not hold on to it to sell more books.  If he truly is sitting on stuff that is hurting this country right now, shame on him and I hope his book bombs.

GAH, I am going back to Dr. Phil reruns . . .

Mika & Katty Kay were both wearing the same style red wrap dress. Katty's wrap was bright red.

Mika's was a darker red.

She is better when she is not left alone in the breakfast nook. There was some noise in the background. Joe was filling the dishwasher with some glasses & decided to run it during the discussion with Haas.

Sharpton is worried about the Democrats fighting over winecave fundraisers. They should focus on Trump.

Mika said that Mayor Pete is a threat. Mika is impressed by Mayor Pete.

Tyler wants Democrats to stop whining over wine caves.

Mika stumbled over her KYV segment. She wants women to stop trying to make themselves physically perfect.

Mika pronounced embrace as embrake. Yikes.

Wow! You are so lucky . It looks beautiful.

The Democrats should hold the next debate in a wine cave. This way, all candidates would be on an equal footing.

They should also have a wine sampling during the debate. It would be fun to get their opinions on various wines. 🙂

What on earth was that Pop Up Video mess I caught at the last ten seconds of the show?  Was it one of Joe's videos?

Yes!. It's Joe's hit new Christmas song . They showed video from their staff Christmas party. Mika & Joe hugged each other with Christmas lights covering their body. Mika & Joe's crew were featured in the video. Joe played his music for the staff. It's a weird title for a song. I don't want to go home for Christmas.

I found the video of the "party"  on msnbc.com. I think I made it thru about 20 seconds.

What is the point of making everyone look pissed off?

Or is that just how everyone who works there always looks?

To quote the immortal sage George W. Bush, that is some weird shit.

Wait until Fox News primetime gets a hold of it, yikes.

And wasn't this dumb song released last year as I remember thinking ouch that's the title?

And finally someone needs to explain the Susan Del Percio dress joke to me as I can't find any video of her being on air this morning.  Many thanks in advance!

It must be hard on the staff because they are mostly in NY, & Mika & Joe stay in Florida.

They have to do more prep work for them.

Mika's difficulty with  reading the teleprompter is increasing.

I don't know Oakville, I kinda like it when my boss is out of the office.  🙂

I realize their egos make it more difficult on the staff, tho, and Mika does appear to be getting worse, not better, after doing the same work for twenty plus years.

I was shocked to see her on air this morning. I figured they'd be off the next two weeks.

Ok so Joe shows up sporadically at best throughout the year but is front and center (and solo, I guess Meeks is sleeping off the eggnog) the day after Christmas . . . huh, duly noted but I have to say I am enjoying this discussion about religion/power as he's being Joe Scarborough Commentator and not Super Preacher Joe.

Oh goodness I love me some David Ignatius but did no one comb his hair before he went on camera?  He looks like the Nutty Professor . . . sigh.

But I have to say I am digging the low key vibe of the panel.  They should hide the Red Bull's more often.

Yes, he's quite sober and measured.  If he's anything like me, he's mellowed out by the 10,000 grams of carbs consumed over the past 48 hours..... (increases seratonin...and fat)

8:50 AM:  Whoa.. Joe just said that after the break it's going to be Women on Women.  Does Anyone else out there see this as problematic (on national tv)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mika & Joe are off today. Willie is in charge. Heidi, Sharpton, Barnicle & Jonathan Lemire are discussing Trump.

Trump is upset that his cameo in Home Alone 2 was removed on the CBC Christmas broadcast to make room for commercials. It was originally removed in 2014, but somehow became an issue this year.

Sharpton said that Democrats should focus on bread & butter issues & ignore Trump's tweets.

Bernie Sanders is doing well in the polls & might win Iowa & NH. Heidi said he hasn't been attacked like Warren & Biden.

There will be a special called "Red, White & Who" on Medicare for All. It will be hosted by a comedian Francesca Fiorentini. Willie was very fair to her.

I doubt Mika or Joe would allow a guest on the show to discus the advantages of Medicare for All.

Bret Stephens is worried about Democrats picking Warren or Sanders. They will commit "surgery" on the economy. Stephens want "soap", to clean America from the stain of Donald Trump.

Isaacson said Americans want out of the poisonous movie with Trump.

Isaacson is tired of Trump's rants.

Stephens is upset with woke culture & left wing rants. He is upset with cancel culture.

Isaacson said that Trump should have focused on Infrastructure. Democrats would support fixing bridges.

Sharpton said that the media should try to avoid talking about Trump for a week & focus on discussing real issues.

Sharpton said that would drive Trump crazy & he would run around the white house lawn in a bath robe to get attention.

Willie said that Die Hard was a better Christmas movie than Home Alone.

Good thing he didn't say that when Joe and Mika were around.  If it wasn't for their Trump bashing they wouldn't have anything to talk about. Or I guess they could change the name of the show to Cake, Ice Cream & Rock & Roll.

I saw the promo they ran for her special and thought for some reason they left the MSNBC logo up during a commercial.  She is stunning.  Hope she stays away from Mika and the cult.

Brett Stephens is a joke. His appearance on the show today proves how desperate they were to book people.  I'm surprised they even ran a show and didn't just do MSNBC Live, but seeing as how Mediaite.com proclaimed Joe & Mika the belles of every media or political ball, I guess people are just lining up to sit at that table and try to figure out how to Skype with Professor Hairdo and the Sugar Queen.
