Only because I know that JMC has furthered his contract on this (shit) show, I really, really, really wanted Stephanie to grab Eric's hand and pull him towards the bloody light!

Once again we get what other people want especially Thorn and Donna, but I cannot reiterate it enough, it’s what Eric wants. Ridge and Eric have had numerous conversations on Eric’s wants but has Thorn or Donna?  In my humble opinion, they are speaking with their hearts and not their heads. Their head should tell them that Eric wants a quality of life and not whittle away sitting on a couch. 

 

Two doctors, neither of them specialists, who don’t belong operating on Eric, as family members, has never done this experimental procedure before.  What can go wrong?  It was a loosing battle until the cavalry was called in and we will soon find out if Eric chooses to stay or will be drawn into the light. 

 

Luna has the ability to elevate RJ’s acting almost to the level of tolerable.

Gotta disagree with that. I think he's gotten worse since day one. I may be the only one, but I find Eric's story line compelling. I've been watching every evening, instead of waiting until the weekend to binge watch like I usually do. Maybe because I'm still dealing with a personal loss, so the subject matter is somewhat relatable. I don't want JMcC to leave the show. Reading upthread that he's just resigned for 3 years is good news to me. But I'm always along for the ride with this show, whatever happens.

Watching Friday's episode I was gratified to see our girl, Stephanie, make an otherworldly appearance. Called it. My prediction for next week, or maybe it's just my hope, is that Eric and Stephanie have a nice visit but he decides that he's not done yet down here and he turns around and comes back. And considering that next week is the five episodes before xmas, it looks like we're in for a xmas miracle.

And then we have the clueless Donna:

"Why is it taking so long?"

Hmmm.....let's see; blood transfusions and transplants. 

And the abhorrent Ridge:

What an ungrateful, short-sighted fuck you are. Bridget is also Eric's child, and no matter the myriad of violations involved, she was just in the operating room trying to save her dad. She is the one that had the panic and fear as he started to hemorrhage, and his vitals were falling. She was the one racing with Finn to find the spot where Eric was bleeding. They were the ones with the pressure and the stress, as you paced and pontificated. I wish Bridget had punched him in the throat.

Was it me, or was there some hint of them laying groundwork between Bridget and Finn?  I'd love to have Bridget back full time, but not as the off ramp they use to get to the "twu wuv" of Steam. 

I was legitimately shocked to see Stephanie, and a soap hasn't legitimately shocked me in quite some time. So, good on them for that. And now they've got me questioning my certainty that Eric isn't dying.  SF coming back makes me think it is JMc's exit, but at the same time, it would be really shitty if they didn't also manage to get the rest of his kids back in town for it, too. I'd think most of the actors involved would be willing to come back even just for one day out of respect for him, even if they weren't thrilled with the show when they left. 

I agree that this has been dragging and ridiculous at times, but I'm going to miss it when we get Liam back on screen four out of five days a week, being a gigantic asshole.

A few people have posted here that JMc just signed a new 3 year deal with B&B, so it’s likely Eric lives…..unless, the new contract was a rumor or elaborate ploy put out by B&B to make folks think JMc is staying on. Dun-dun-dun!

Apparently whoever said that about his contract has come out stating that they misremembered the contract thing and that it was signed back in 2029, not this year. So many he'll die after all.

NGL, Finn getting the ten foot W of saving Eric and killing Steam for good is the biggest reason why I'm pulling for Eric to make it through.

Well, that's interesting about the contract signing.

If it was indeed 2019, then this may well be his swan song, which means all of this dragged out story line may not be in vain after all.

You know, Ridge did the right thing by trying to honor Eric’s wishes, but he’s such an arrogant asshole about it that he’s completely unsympathetic . We’ll never know if Eric would have chosen the experimental treatment because Finn never got to present it as an option. Even knowing that Ridge is expressing his worry that he betrayed his dad’s wishes, he still comes across as a dick who just wanted to be done with the old man. I know that’s not how the writers mean for it to look, but it’s hitting me that way. I suppose he’s going to double down on dickishness by promoting RJ way over his head. 

Finn and Bridget looked like they were playing live action Operation with Eric in those flashbacks. I kept waiting for them to get zapped.

Why does it seem that Luna is advocating, to Carter, for Zende to complete Eric’s line?  Is Luna starting to fall for Zende 🤮🤢?  Does it seem that Hope is upset that Ridge didn’t choose Lurch to complete the line?  

 

Excuse me but Zende it’s not very wise to make demands of Ridge that you are the one that has to complete Eric’s line.  Zende, with all your schooling and training you completely failed with the HFTF designs.

I'm team Zende. Everything he said to Sludge The Greasy Hobo was true. Sludge The Greasy Hobo is a heartless bastard. And besides, Eric has been Zende's grandfather longer than he has been RJ's. Eric chose RJ to help him because he was embarrassed about his condition and wanted to hide it. He figured he could fool RJ the most. Sludge The Greasy Hobo should be bringing the whole entire design team together to honor Eric and finish Eric's line. Including Eric's children who are on safari. Not only a very select few - him and his chosen son, and excluding Zende and Thomas, two bona fide successful Forrester designers and family. Fuck Sludge The Greasy Hobo. And can we just put a paper bag over RJ's head? Or at least put him in full drag?

Zende has a right to want to be part of his family’s business. He’s been working there for years so RJ showing up and becoming the latest golden boy is bullshit. But RJ is nice and Zendes a bit of a prick so viewers are supposed to be team RJ.

Bridget, if you’re such a great doctor, you would know if Eric could breathe on his own.  That’s one of the functions of a ventilator which would tell you that Eric is triggering the machine or the machine is triggering automatically for Eric to breathe.  As long as the brain is receiving oxygen, there is the possibility of rem eye movement.  If Eric can’t breathe on his own, the brain will die. As I said before, the ventilator will tell them if Eric is able to breathe on his own. 

 

Bald and wearing a turtle neck makes Zende defiantly look like a dick head.  Why is Luna feeling so sympathetic towards Zende even to the point that Ridge passed him over in favor of RJ.  The chemistry test between Luna and Zende 🤢🤢🤮. At least with RJ is only 🤢🤮.  Instead of rushing to the hospital, Zende rather flirt with Luna. What a grandson. 

 

I think of Lurch and Zende in the same. They are  entitled elitists who think that their shit doesn’t stink.

I don’t know how many times I have to say this but the ventilator will tell them if Eric can breathe on his own.  If they are worried about blood clots, infection, or pneumonia, there are drugs available to combat these conditions. There is also no guarantee he wouldn’t have these complications once off the ventilator. Rapid eye movement only means Eric is getting oxygen to his brain so he would still have brain activity. 

 

Zende, while in Europe, you should have gone to acting school instead of design school.  Now you suck at both. 

 

Why would we not believe that Eric would not pull through especially on Christmas.  It’s not a Christmas miracle though, it’s a soap opera miracle.  I got to ask, if Finn and Bridget were so worried about Eric’s health, why did they let so many people into Eric’s room bringing all types is germs?  At least make them wear masks.

Because this is a soap and all of them don’t bother to do the most basic research on medical, legal, business stuff. They made more of an effort and better back in the day-70s-90s.

At this point, all I can do is 🙄🙄🙄 because the writers are too lazy.

I truly thought that when Eric woke up and looked around at all the machines, he was going to be angry and berate everybody for keeping him alive. 

TBH, I would rather have had the usual sappy holiday gathering at the Forrester mansion than sit through this prolonged doom and gloom for six weeks (seemed like 1,000). Even listening to everybody being forced to say something disingenuous about the person to their right would have been an improvement.

Only this show could draw out an extubation like it was the long awaited conclusion to a love triangle or murder mystery. The hospital should have sold tickets to the procedure since audiences are apparently welcomed and encouraged. I really did think when Eric opened his eyes and looked at everyone, he was going to tell them all to go to hell.

Brooke, please put that bible away. It’s just not believable. If Stephanie had that book in her house, it was hollowed out to hold a bottle or a gun.

I don’t normally want to see Liam, but I am so looking forward to seeing him suck defeat through a straw.

That is my favorite part of all of this. They had better give us the scene of Steffy gushing to Liam about how Finn saved her beloved grandfather. It's too bad Wyatt's gone, because I'd love to see his reaction to Liam trying to whine to him about that.

Their soulful looks over Eric's bloody, comatose body as they fumbled among cotton swabs and Finn's groping Bridget on one side of Eric's bed as Steffy wept with joy on the OTHER side of the bed are such blatant red flags. Maybe it's writer misdirection, maybe not. But it's time for a different storyline, and I vote YES !!
