So much for a hostile environment, Hope. Electra says Steffy was always nice to her.

Okay and? What does Electra know besides her own, very limited, experience? She's been here for all of 10 seconds, and in those 10 seconds, hasn't done anything to offend Steffy's fragile ego. Not yet anyway. Steffy being nice only to her means nothing if she's shitty to other employees. One of them being Ivy, her own aunt. Of course no one has anything to say about that. It might implicate Steffy as the main problem since Ivy can't be dismissed as some slutty Logan out to get her and her family.

This storyline makes everyone look bad, but no one is worse than Ridge. He calls Hope a slut? Ignoring the fact that he raised her, and how shitty that is. Dude....Ridge....do you know who your daughter is and where she's been? Scratch that. Do you know who you are Ridge??? And where your disgusting womanizing, 2 time rapist, serial cheating, lying, gaslighting, manipulative ass has been? Ridge is worse character on the show which is no small feat with Steffy and Taylor on the canvas.

I saw an interview TK did about how Ridge thinks maybe Taylor has been the right woman for him all along, and she doesn't have kids with his brother or father.

Funny he says that because the only reason Bridget was rectonned away from Ridge was because HTylo wanted her character to be the only one with all of Ridge's kids, and for whatever reason the writers buckled. Hardly what I'd call fair. Also, to be honest, Taylor only having having Ridge's kids has made her character stagnant, she's not better for it imo. But the same writing that allowed that Taylor/HTylo that "luxury" is the same writing responsible for her descent, and stagnation. So I guess it comes full circle.

Yeah, that line by Electra made no sense to me. Because, sure, Steffy was nice to her, but she also knows that Carter was the one who brought her and Ivy to FC and proposed their return to Steffy.  And she knows that Steffy initially shot them down because of her personal issues with Ivy. They only ended up being signed on because Eric stepped in and wanted them. So, everything she's experienced so far at FC bears out what Carter and Hope are saying about how Steffy has been running the company.

I know it won’t happen but I want Brooke to be DONE with Ridge. She should have outgrown his childish ass years ago. Does anyone want to see this latest weak Taylor chase after him? It’s pathetic.
Hope and Carter are terribly cringeworthy and gross getting lovey dovey in in a chair that might still be warm from Ridges ass.  Puke.

All I see is Nick Newman Jr when Will is on. He even sounds like his dad used to. I liked the Remy story better when Luna was doing the menacing. They could have kept that going instead of springing this new character on us.

Kind of true to character albeit pathetic (which, is also true to character) that Ridge does this kind of "ultimatum" knowing what the answer's going to be.  As much as most of us think Brooke is WAY underselling this, she's not outright kissing his ass anymore so he's done with her.

But the big tough guy can't come right out and say it, he needs an out to show he's the victim as always.

Soooooo much this! In fact, this reminds me of a similar situation in my own professional past.  I would hear from others that, let’s call her…Susan was a “difficult” colleague to work with. However, my own personal interactions with Susan were always cordial and collaborative. But I always understood that to be MY own experience with Susan, and never dismissed anyone else’s personal interactions with her. So Electra being dismissive of others’ interactions with Steffy to me signals:

  • Electra’s being an ass kisser, trying to “get in” with the Boss;
  • Electra’s egotistical self-centeredness, elevating HER own experience with Steffy above others - - - moreover, as Skazero wrote, those “others” have had waaaay longer experience with Steffy.

He is also a sore winner because heaven forbid he have any empathy or show fairness to anyone he considers beneath him.

How in the world does Brooke think that Ridge will come back, to apologize, when Stuffy and Taylor feed his ego.  Stuffy and Taylor are coming between Brooke and Ridge a hell of a lot more than Stuffy thinks that Hope is coming  between her and Finn.  Ridge, Stuffy, and Taylor the trifecta of 💩 for brains.

Gag, at Carter/Hope having sex in the office.

HT has really nice hair.

They put Zende in the worst clothes. Of course he backs his family over loser Carter/Hope.

Of course the Logans are being hypocrites about Electra. They were aghast at Hopes firing but dont even ask or let Electra try to explain. Hope tried to seduce someone on company time. Electra has a (fake) nude. Can you fire someone over that?

So, Remy photoshops nudies of Electra and sends them out on social media, and FC's HR director sees them and decides to give Electra notice - isn't that something that should be coming from Electra's direct report - and Katie's kneejerk reaction seems to be a bit out of place for the year 2024, when even doddering old dinosaurs like myself know that you should never believe what you see on social media until you have independent, verifiable confirmation.

Can Luna make like the Grinch Who Stole Christmas and get rid of every single person on this show?

Because I'm seriously over everyone at this point.

That includes Hope and Carter because all they've managed to do is make the most unlikeable, terrible people into the wronged victims. Even if it's mostly in their own twisted minds.

So, first Ivy meets with Carter, who tells her that Electra is doing a wonderful job, then, not five minutes later, she meets with Katie who tells her Electra is being let go - it's time for someone to shake some sense into Katie, because HR doesn't decide who gets hired and who gets fired, their job comes when someone is going to be either hired, or fired, by management.

Z’s shirts are absolutely horrific because it makes him look like a stuffed sausage. If you want to show off your muscles, a polo shirts would be a much better choice.

The only Forester in the room is Eric the rest of them just get a high out of calling themselves a Forester.

Katie you get an anonymous e-mail and immediately jump to the conclusion that the picture can’t possibly be a fake beside it was an email and not a link to a website. Katie, it’s not your decision to make about letting Electra go nor giving Electra a chance to explain those pictures.  Since there are only woman in the room, Electra could even prove those pictures are fake.

There were a number of things I had to laugh at about that scene: 1) the inspiring music they played when he made his announcement to Ridge, Steffi and Eric 2) The only actual Forrester in that room was Eric, Ridge is Massimo Marone's son, Steffi is Ridge's daughter, and Zende is the adopted son of Kristen Forrester and her husband, Tony Dominguez - Thorne, come home - Rick (Eric, Jr.), come home - Kristen, come home - Felicia, come home.

It’s stunning to me that Eric, Ridge, Taylor and Steffy are stunned, just absolutely stunned that Brooke is standing by her daughter. What kind of trash are these people that they can’t comprehend this? Also amazing is how Ridge defines loyalty - Brooke snitched on Hope almost immediately and repeatedly stated she didn’t condone the takeover. That’s not enough for the self-righteous manbaby. No, Hope must be banished into the void so that Ridge won’t suffer the indignity of her mere presence.

Speaking of annoying self-righteousness, who in the hell appointed Katie the head of the HR department? Does she not find it odd or suspicious that she received an email full of nudes? There’s no investigation? Yes, by all means, Katie, protect your precious angel from the sinful harlot. It’s great being transported to the 1950’s for a half hour every weekday afternoon.

How does Katie, who is head of PR, have the authority to fire Electra? Or anybody? If anything, I would be asking Electra is she was interested in modeling for Brooke's Bedroom!

Man, Remy is super, super creepy and weird.

Carter doesn't waste any time. If he is already establishing a M&A team, he must have been out recruiting people on the sly.

I have nothing else to add about Ridge, Steffy, and Eric.

Do they not want us to like anyone on this show?  That conversation Brooke and Katie had about Electra was pretty gross. "I thought she was a nice, sweet girl"?  Like a nice sweet girl can't possibly have ended up with a naked picture of her out there (or, in this case, a fake naked picture)?  After we just had Brooke, rightfully, angry about Ridge throwing the word "slut" around, now Brooke and Katie are shaming a woman for this?  Ick. Ick. Ick.

And then to not even talk to her about it?  This is Eric's niece, guys. You're not going to give her the chance to have a conversation about this?  Just fire her immediately? When neither one of you even has the authority to fire her?

The worst part is that you know that they're just being so shitty about this to give Electra and Ivy a reason to be anti- the new powers that be at FC. Katie can be kind of uptight at times, and this is the woman dating her baby boy, so I guess I can kind of squint and see her jumping right to damage control. But Brooke? It feels really out of character for her to jump right to shaming a young woman for something like this.

Zende kissing the asses of the men who he was, not long ago, complaining about not giving him a real shot in the family company, and Steffy, the person who ended the line he was working on without a courtesy warning, was obnoxious.

Actually in my corporate world experience, HR does fire people. Upper leadership or the person's boss consults with HR and they all agree that Employee X is fired/ laid off/ let go/ position is eliminated and HR prepares the paperwork.

HR usually meets with employee to give the bad news and get the paperwork signed. The boss very rarely does the meeting because they don't want to be confronted by the angry/ upset/ furious/ etc. employee.

While meeting with employee, HR person gets IT to disable the employee's network access and remove the computer.  HR then oversees the employee packing their desk, Gets the employee's keys/ access card/ parking pass/ corp phone etc etc. and then walks the employee out. Unless it's a really ugly firing then the security does.

I've seen it happen many many many times in public and private companies. I experienced it once when there was a mass layoff.

Yes that's true, but it this case it seems that HR (Katie) did it on her own, not after consultation with Electra's boss.

Liam still clears everyone on this show, but yeah, I'd say Carter is certainly moving up the ranks.

That said, someone beat me in describing the firing process and it's ridiculous why Electra's getting sacked.

Far be it from the geniuses running the place to give a shit about any history prior to Labor Day (unless it's Brooke's or Hope's), but Donna Logan had a whole ass story in the 80s about her taking nude photos that were published in a magazine Bill owned. You'd think that given what their own sister has been through they'd be more sympathetic but no. :|

Hell, even more recently than that, when a sex tape came up that was believed to be Amber's, FC rallied in support! Including Brooke, who had spent the last four years to that point trying to be rid of her out of her life, even!

Katie has always been a buttinski and you'd also think maaaaaybe she'd use a fraction of her nosiness she's had for, I dunno, the Luna shit or her beef with Quinn from 2017 to look into this before tossing the girl on her ass.

People elsewhere have wondered if this is being written like this to make them look like hypocrites to make Steffy look better. I wouldn't put it past these idiots to do that, but more likely is just plain ol' laziness.

I think that's exactly what this is. Ivy would have no reason to side with Steffy, because Steffy tried to keep her out of FC due to their personal history. Meanwhile, Carter is the one who called Ivy in and pushed to bring her and Electra on board. So, you'd think Ivy would be inclined to trust him to some extent, even if she wasn't thrilled by the way the takeover happened. But, now the "new" FC powers that be are kicking her niece out the door over her being the victim of a crime (which they would have known if they'd bothered to have a freaking conversation about the picture), so now her animosity towards Steffy will disappear, and they'll be besties trying to defeat the evil Logans. This show is so damn lazy.

This is why soaps can't grow an audience and loses what audience they have left. They write these shows like the characters are idiots and it's not the year 2024. This show, in particular, has always been tone deaf with the slut shaming but this Electra storyline is especially offensive. With today's technology, no one thought "hey, maybe these images aren't even real"? And the way they craft dialogue so that the characters talk around issues to keep misunderstandings going is so Three's Company. What employer is not going to at least explain why they are terminating an employee and give them a chance to explain, especially when they have been pleased with their work previously? And having Brooke and Katie look down at the pics just days after Brooke dragged Ridge for slut shaming Hope is as dumb as Steffy of the eternal paternity tests slut shaming anyone. This show is such trash.

Beyond the Gates, please save us.

This is such 🐂💩.  Who gave the head of PR the authority to handle the dismissal of employees. As I was corrected, Katie is not the head of HR.  Carter, you are an ass for not even asking why Electra was fired without getting an explanation.  Like Stuffy, they are all jumping to conclusions.  I’m also calling 🐂💩 on the monkeys with keyboard for the reason why they are not confronting Electra nor Ivy with the pictures.

Katie if you are such a wonderful head of PR you would turn lemons into lemonade.  Promote the pictures, of Electra, as the new model for the younger generation and call it Hope’s bedroom.

I cracked up at Ridge and Steffy gloating about how the company won't have a competent CEO (like Steffy leaves big shoes to fill), as we see Carter preparing to offer the job to Brooke, who has been and would be miles better than Bitch in a Box ever was.

And, "hope ran her line into the ground," Ridge?  That's some selective memory you've got there (real shocker for a Forrester, I know). Your daughter ran your company's highly profitable line into the ground when she shipped its lead designer out of the country without making any real plans as to how to preserve the line's quality and reputation.

The whole Electra getting fired plot point is so poorly done. No, show, I'm not going to side with the Cliff House Asshole Collective just because you've made Brooke and Katie temporarily insane or something.

Electra being fired without explanation is so BellLA.  Katie (who is head of PR and HR?!) doesn't inquire as to the source of the pics, nor does she make any effort to determine whether the pics are real.  It'll be real embarassing for FC if Electra learns what happened and goes public with the fact that she was a victim of revenge porn/deep-fakes.  FC could have gotten ahead of this by putting a spotlight on this timely issue of manipulated images but, instead, they just terminate a young girl with no explanation.  Dumb.

So let me get this straight. Steffy was able to fire Hope without approval of HR, yet Katie, who is head of PR (which in Bell's feeble addled mind also is equivalent to HR) is able to fire someone else?

Alrighty then.

Yep. And Katie did it without telling Electra why she was being fired.  She also did it without talking to Ivy about why, despite Ivy seemingly being Electra's direct supervisor, and without discussing it with Carter first. It's totally ridiculous.

Hope was the only person who even questioned it. Carter just brushed it off because Brooke told the two of them about it right as Carter was getting ready to ask Brooke to be CEO, so he wasn't going to question her judgement. Hope kept trying to get more of an explanation, but Brooke didn't divulge any details.

This right here.

Back when ATWT was in its own death spiral in its last few years, they would do this shit on the regular to push one story or one couple or the other. Will never forgive the way they trashed Vienna to push Henry Coleman and Barbara Ryan together or the way they made Meg Synder--as horridly up her own pretentious ass that she was--into a lunatic for Damien of all people  to ship her away to the looney bin and put Paul and Emily back together and ESPECIALLY turning Lily's otherwise boring boyfriend Keith into a psycho who all but blackmailed her into staying with him.

At another place I discuss B&B, one poster mentioned that they hate Hope because it feels like other characters get ruined to give her story (namely Thomas). And while this person is certainly not unbiased, the fact is I see this sentiment on all sides of the aisle in a way I never do for any other soap fandom.

No one in this fanbase enjoys the direction of this show.

Yeah pretty much. But even still this feels like more than the writers propping Steffy and Ridge because well......they always do that don't they? Ridge gets to play victim, run to Taylor (who also gets whitewashed), Steffys contant rants about and to Brooke but no one checks her given her own history, her husband never takes her to task about anything, and her father has been caving to the idea that in order to be a good parent, he has to stand by every (bad) decision she makes for years now. But Katie & Brooke stupidly firing Electra over something she doesn't know about or have any control over feels so I don't know.....quick and dirty(not to mention obvious)even for B&B standards. Maybe it's because the show is making light of a serious issue just to push more Logan vs. Forrester shit.

And I guess Thomas assaulting Caroline 2.0 was about ruining his character to make hers look better too? Thomas was crazy even when the writing was good(good compared to now at least) so that excuse doesn't wash for someone like Thomas. Even if he gets new characterization every other recast. They'd be slightly better off saying Steffy was ruined to give Hope a rival because Steffy actually used to love Brooke, and had got to a good place with her after she slept with Bill before AN's Hope came back.

Why would I doubt that Taylor would show up at Eric’s house, butting in, is a given.  Taylor is a genital herpes.

Eric’s living room stinks to high heaven with everyone shitting in their pants over Brooke’s announcement.  Of course, Brooke backs that ungrateful useless idiot Ridge over Carter and Hope. Brooke, mother of the year.

Manipulating a man to do what she wants is Stuffy’s forte not Hope.
