Thomas/MA trimmed his beard FINALLY!! It looked so much nicer and neater. The scene where Steffy caught them in the office, I felt sorry for poor Hope/AN's skin because his beard seemed to be sticking out at random spots and angles.. MA just got married so I guess he neatened up the beard.. 5 Link to comment

KerleyQ December 8, 2023 Share December 8, 2023 So, does the show just want to pretend that the whole Massimo is really Ridge's father thing never happened? I mean, I think it's great that, to Eric, Ridge has never been even an ounce less his son than he was before the reveal, because that is how it should be when you've raised someone. But, when they write in things like a "good genes," line between Steffy and Eric, it makes me wonder if we're just supposed to forget it ever happened. I was just waiting for Eric to full on pass out and everyone having to pretend that it was something so completely normal and not at all a reason for concern. Maybe RJ and Katie could fake fainting, too, and everyone could be like "woo, it must be too warm in here." 11 2 Link to comment
NinjaPenguins December 8, 2023 Share December 8, 2023 How can anyone say that Ridge has no affect? I find him quite convincing as a humorless prick and dictatorial ass who is trying to forcibly stage manage everyone’s grief. Eric’s obliviousness defies belief. I guess you could chalk it up to denial, but his family has piss poor pretending skills. Finn is still at work researching his miracle cure for Eric, isn’t he? Good luck competing with that, Liam. 9 4 1 Link to comment

There's been some conflicts as to whether CBS or even Brad Bell's own mother put their put down on going further than a scant few kisses they did share, but it got cut off before it went further. Still, it's for good reason that shitshow was the watermark against which every other bad story was compared to before Beth's kidnapping burst through and smashed records like Michael Phelps at the Beijing Olympics. Hell, personally that wouldn't even rank in the top 5 of worst B&B plots anymore as the 20s have been bad plot after increasingly dismal bad plot and in the case of Eric's ED dilemma, genuinely offensive. 5 1 2 1 Link to comment

It's a stupid storyline and I don't know if it was started by the original writers or the scab writers during the strike, and whose writing we are seeing play out. No one is really enjoying themselves--just watching to see what happens with Eric-gawking, concerned/scared expressions. Eric's cancer/disease is definitely a soap opera created one as I've never heard of a cancer that shows physical symptoms as uncontrollable shaking hands and coughing up blood at the same time. I haven't really been watching this play out because I'm still not over the fucking insulting "treatment" of another character on the other soap when she was supposedly undergoing chemo. And apparently Donna is a-okayee with Eric's repeated statements about seeing Stephanie soon. 7 Link to comment

SweePea59 December 9, 2023 Share December 9, 2023 Well, that was just weird. First, in case I haven't said it recently, I hate TK. But his wretched performance on Friday's episode takes my hatred to a new level. Eric, literally out of the blue, confronts Sludge, the greasy hobo with the ass-inine accent, about winning the fashion show-down and all Sludge can do is stand there expressionless like he's waiting in line at the pharmacy counter at Walgreens and thinking about buying some cupcakes on the way home. Eric works himself up into a frenzy, and no one says a word. Then Eric has an about-face and says what Sludge did was the most generous thing ever. And gushes over the greasy hobo with the ass-inine accent, Sludge, while his bio non-favorite son Thorne looks on. Then Eric collapses like hold-on-Elizabeth-I'm-coming and no one has the good sense to call 911. Not even Zende, who we know had his phone with him since he used it to fill the room with music, somehow. I guess he had an app for the speakers in Eric's living room. It was as though they were a crowd of strangers, not the people closest to Eric. And since this was a B&B Friday cliff hanger... is there anyone out there who thinks Eric actually died? 7 5 3 Link to comment

KerleyQ December 10, 2023 Share December 10, 2023 So, Eric can tell the nuance of some facial expressions to understand right away that he didn't actually win the showdown, but he's spent the past two episodes with his entire family very obviously holding back tears (and in some cases, not holding them back) and making proclamations like "you'll always be with me," and he can't put it together that they all know he's dying? Does Soap Opera Cancer make one selectively stupid? 4 3 12 Link to comment

Even when TK was a much better actor than he's been on B&B, this was one of his major weaknesses. I suspect he's been going for Ridge being stoic and holding it all together for his father and family, but whenever TK tries to play something like that, he just comes across as a cold asshole. It was the same way when he was on AMC. Any time Zach needed to be stoic or serious, he came across as a condescending emotionless asshole. It really made a couple of already shitty storylines way worse. 3 3 Link to comment

So wooden and flat at first, but he had his moments and his relationship with Eric was believable. There has to have been someone, ANYONE else, with a ripped body and who looked and could act like the sophisticated character Ridge is supposed to be. I softened towards him when I learned he was a member of one of my favorite bands from the 70s-Player-with the amazing hit, “Baby Come Back” and when I learned he could no longer play Ridge due to an accident that had him unable to remember his lines/memory. CharlizeCat December 10, 2023 Share December 10, 2023 He and his wife were in a car accident in L.A. It happened maybe almost a year before he quit B&B. I don't remember him specifically saying that the accident affected his memory. What I read was that RM used the time after the accident to do some thinking and it was implied that he decided he'd prefer to spend his time working on music instead of acting. I had also read that RM said that it was becoming more difficult to memorize lines. But I inferred that he was talking more about the natural memory loss that comes along with aging, not necessarily anything linked to the car accident. In any case, I miss him. I guess I was one of the only few viewers who liked RM. He wasn't the best actor, but I thought he was drop-dead handsome and he seemed more like the way Ridge was intended. I think TK is just awful in the role. He is just awful in any romantic scenes and has zero chemistry with KKL. I could never picture that version of a young Ridge as an L.A. playboy. 4 6 1 Link to comment
