Jlina October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 I didn't see Walter fighting, I saw him hanging on for dear life to someone's back. Eh, at least he tries. Was surprised Cabe went down so easily. A hero SLY!! Loved it...I think his character has had the most growth in the series so far. And a girlfriend too! The OCD germaphobe fat kid has really changed. They are really showing an integrated team, except for McPhee still feels odd man out. And the hot babe emerging from water scene was laugh out loud parody. I hope. Fun to watch TV fun. Nice it's goofy and not dark; I had to give up on Gotham. And it matches perfectly with NCIS LA. Link to comment

Actionmage October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 (edited) While I only caught the last half ( I watch Whose Line live), I was highly upset on Sly's behalf! At around forty minutes, Paige is talking to Sly about where the legend is hidden and it isn't until then that Sylvester get the bright idea that a wheelchair-confined man might hide the Very Important Information in said chair?!? His declaration to Megan through egret dance was daffily Sylvester and I adored it ( and Megan/ Camille Guaty's reaction and declaration), but quit dumbing these smarties for plot reasons. I loved the breakout and that Flinkman is reoccurring and that Ralph was pro-active in his plan against getting picked-on/bullied. Green is not a good look on Toby, but Cade standing up for his geniuses was nice. Cade had a point and I stated to the TV, " Well, you should understand, considering your last posting!" [The Unit, where his character- NOT named Cade or Gallo- slept with the wife of an officer in his direct command. He was eventually found out and amazingly wasn't killed by his unit of ultra-elite operators.] I was waiting for someone, like Toby, to come back with "We're a cyclone!" Oh well. I might watch the first half for the Sylvester-in-jail situations, but the ads for this episode had me wanting to punch Paige. Her " That was painful to watch" as Sly is getting K.O.'d by a bigger inmate made me Toby-at-the-end punch-y. It was a lot more painful for Sylvester, "Team Mom"! Shut up! Clearly, I'm an idiot. What does the epi title reference? I think it's about Sly being the new inmate and getting roughed up-- fish (new/freshman) filet (cut/hurt/whatevered). shapeshifter October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 (edited) Nice it's goofy and not dark; I had to give up on GothamExactly my thoughts. I accidentally caught a few seconds of Gotham tonight which immediately squelched any regrets I had for giving it up due to the intense gratuitous violence. Then this show came on with a sigh of relief. No worries about Syl getting lumpy facial bruises in the prison, and yet the show still managed to maintain a level of tension over how he would make it out of there. Clearly, I'm an idiot. What does the epi title reference?Even without Googling it (which I did to be sure) it seemed obvious from all the inmates calling Syl "Fish" that a fish is a new inmate. And he almost got filleted, right? Edited October 6, 2015 by shapeshifter 3 Link to comment

Trini October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 "Fish" is prison slang for a new inmate; Sylvester, in this case. The "filet" part is him about to get attacked, I guess. 1 Link to comment
marketdoctor October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 This was heavily influnced by Tango & Cash in parts (the prison warden is the only person who knows, and it doesn't go well for the warden, so their only chance is a prison break...) More generally, there were lots of prison cliches (the "knock him out" plan). I liked how Ray kept trying to friend Walter, and midway through, does... 1 Link to comment

raven October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 (edited) I liked this much better than last week, which was kind of boring. Sylvester's 22?? Is that what Cabe said? I thought they were all in their late 20s, maybe early 30, but I'm terrible at guessing ages. I like seeing Walter do community service and I like Ray; he can come around once in a while "Victor-Ray", hee. I think McPhee is getting better comedic cues or something, I liked her quick beat when they were wondering what Sylvester's prison name would be and she gives the bully's name. Ha! Good for Ralph for figuring out how to deal with his bully and for saying he wanted to stay in school. Walter is neither a fighter nor socially adept, but that doesn't stop them from showing his engaged in both every episode. I don't mind the social stuff - I think they've shown that he's progressing slightly there - but the show can't resist putting him in heroic situations, handling weapons, etc. Sometimes it bugs if it's something I think Cabe can do, or there are other professionals around but this week it didn't; he did seem like he was flailing in the fight. He's generally the most irritating to me, so I really liked this week with the emphasis on Sylvester. You just know that Happy's singing at the club or something, not dating that guy. Romantic hijinks, this show has them! Still I like it, I don't even bother to try to figure out the plots, the group works for me. Edited October 6, 2015 by raven 2 Link to comment
theatremouse October 7, 2015 Share October 7, 2015 I liked this much better than last week, which was kind of boring. Sylvester's 22?? Is that what Cabe said? I thought they were all in their late 20s, maybe early 30, but I'm terrible at guessing ages. In at least one episode last year they referred to Sylvester as 21, so for him to be 22 now makes sense. When the show first started I assumed he was older than that but still younger than the others, but I have a vague recollection they mentioned his age outloud pretty early on, so I just sort of went with it. (Which is the name of the game with this show.) 2 Link to comment

With parental permission, some universities have accepted incredibly young students - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_child_prodigies Jay Luo (born 1970), received his B.Sc. from Boise State University with honors in mathematics at the age of 12 to become the youngest university graduate in United States history Ruth Lawrence (born 1971), passed the Oxford University interview entrance examination in mathematics, coming first out of all 530 candidates sitting the examination at the age of 10. At the age of 13 she became the youngest to graduate from the University of Oxford in modern times. 2 Link to comment

thuganomics85 October 7, 2015 Share October 7, 2015 From corrupt prison guard, to honorable warden: Wade Williams sure is rising in the ranks of prison roles! And with Megan/Camille Guaty returning, we got double the dose of former Prison Break actors here! Probably the best episode this season, mainly due to more focus on Sylvester. Sure, it is still unrealistic as all get-out, but there is more fun and even suspense with Syl trying survive prison, then Walt being a dick and dealing with his "feelings" for Paige. Hell, I actually even enjoyed those two in this one, because most of their stuff was trying to help Syl, and being part of the team. I think this show works best when it is more of an ensemble, and less about the relationship issues. Although, I did like that Happy potentially getting a new love interest has led to Toby's moment with Cabe with the punching bag. Cabe telling off Homeland Security lady/Alana De La Garza for not helping Syl, makes me wonder how much longer she's going to last. Loving Ray, even though I still want to call him Marshal most of the time. 4 Link to comment

TWP October 10, 2015 Share October 10, 2015 (edited) I generally love large ensemble casts where everyone plays a near equal role.... and yes Sylvester is good. Even the name is great. I do tend to tape my eyeballs down to prevent the eye rolls ;-), but with this show, it's half the fun. I'm just waiting for one of the villains to say something like "I would have ruled the world! -- if not for those pesky kids!" They need a psychedelic van and a dog. KLovestoShop October 11, 2015 Share October 11, 2015 I love Syl and having him be the focus of one show was great. I HATE the Homeland Security woman, and I think I read somewhere that she's only on for 4 or 5 episodes because she got a job on another show. I can really appreciate a show that's more story driven, despite having to suspend belief, rather than how most of these shows have gone more for huge shootouts. I've practically given up on Hawaii 5-0 because it seems to have become nothing more than big guns vs big guns and is so freaking violent. And, I have the same feeling for Blue Bloods. I've really liked that show, but they've allowed Danny to become too rogue and violent. There's no way that a cop could do the crap he does and not get fired. Plus, they lead you to believe he's the ONLY freaking detective in NYC. 1 Link to comment
