After that, if it's still tied, it becomes sudden death. If one team scores a TD in their first possession and the other team only gets a FG, the TD team wins. Link to comment

Lamb18 February 12 Share February 12 I keep thinking Romo and Nance are saying "IU" when it's really Aiyuk. 1 Link to comment
Magog February 12 Share February 12 I thought if the 49ers get a touchdown in OT, that they win & the game is over. But, NOOO. The Chiefs would get the ball even if the 49ers get the touchdown. 😒 How very stupid that OT rules that is. 1 Link to comment

DoctorAtomic February 12 Share February 12 I'd play 10 minutes for an OT period. No sudden death. Link to comment
Raja February 12 Share February 12 Sudden Death was such a tradition to let go. A full period feels like basketball. 1 Link to comment
DoctorAtomic February 12 Share February 12 Romo was right again for the second time. They didn't need to bring the house on that 3rd down. Link to comment

MerBearHou February 12 Share February 12 (edited) Woooooo Hoooooo! I like both teams but am married to a KC guy so Chiefs, baby! Mahomes dug deep. Edited February 12 by MerBearHou 2 Link to comment
Raja February 12 Share February 12 Well at least it wasn't Kelce, now he can go and put a baby into Taylor. Link to comment
BlackberryJam February 12 Share February 12 Well, the exciting ending made up for a shit first half. I feel bad for the Niners. 2 Link to comment
mojoween February 12 Share February 12 Not rooting for a repeat winner, but also not rooting for San Francisco, so. If it weren’t for the godforsaken tomahawk chop, this would be much more palatable. 9 Link to comment

emma675 February 12 Share February 12 Wow!!! Now that was a great Super Bowl! Hard fought until the very end, both teams should be proud. Congrats KC! And one more time until next season...SHUT UP, TONY ROMO. 3 Link to comment
Lamb18 February 12 Share February 12 I'm glad KC won but that tomahawk is nauseating. 4 Link to comment
DoctorAtomic February 12 Share February 12 SF blew it on 2 3rd downs which only led to the two field goals. Mahomes converted 3 of them in OT. That's it. Link to comment
baldryanr February 12 Share February 12 You knew the NFL wasn't going to have Taylor fly all the way to Vegas just to be sad at the end. They just weren't! In all seriousness, kudos to the Chiefs. 3 Link to comment

Raja February 12 Share February 12 Since they ran so late does CBS lose its bid to launch Tracker? 2 Link to comment
MerBearHou February 12 Share February 12 Travis Kelce needs to apologize to Coach Reid. That was absurd behavior, Travis. I don’t care about “heat of the game” — just NO. 4 Link to comment
Calvada February 12 Share February 12 I was in the TV muted club from the 4 minute point in the 4th quarter. I didn't care who won (or lost) this game. I feel good for Leo Chenal (I always root for former Badgers) but that didn't mean I was rooting for the Chiefs. I was only hoping for a good game, and for a great deal of this game, it was not that. 2 minutes ago, Raja said: Since they ran so late does CBS lose its bid to launch Tracker? Black Knight February 12 Share February 12 Thank goodness the Niners lost - I can go to bed instead of having to spend several hours working. Robbie Gould's voodoo doll worked. Shanahan bet he could have such a high-scoring offense that the kicker wouldn't matter. That blew up in his face. Link to comment

baldryanr February 12 Share February 12 In retrospect, if both teams are guaranteed possession isn't it better to defer if you win the OT coin flip? It's like batting in the bottom of the inning - at least you get to see what you have to match. The only downside is if you're still tied after trading possessions since it becomes sudden death after that. 2 Link to comment
DrSpaceman73 February 12 Share February 12 Exciting game. Longest superbowl in history. Mahimmes completed the drive. Purdy couldn't do it. And a missed extra point was critical. 2 Link to comment

There's not any statistics that bear out any strategy. Here, the KC defense was tired. Getting them on the field first I think is a smart move. SF just didn't execute well on the 3rd and short that resulted in the FG. 1 Link to comment

DoctorAtomic February 12 Share February 12 This is basically the same as last year. Philadelphia couldn't get first downs and settled for FGs late; KC scored TDs when they needed to. Link to comment
