Deputy Deputy CoS August 10, 2015 Share August 10, 2015 (edited) So do I, but I could be wrong. I just think I realized the Becky and Steve hate is mutual from listening to her. It's just funny, from my perspective, so I don't think it matters too much. Got it. I just don't think that laughing at Jason's comment means she hates Steve. On the contrary, there's plenty of evidence to suggest otherwise. Well, Becky, Jackie, and Johnny have all said they HATE her multiple times, which seems over the top, but we've heard WAAAAYY worse on this show, so that barely registers. That is true. It is not personal though. When they expressed this feelings, it followed by 1 Johnny Mac ; something in relation to how Vanessa attacked him right to the live eviction or her lousy strategy in general. 2. Becky has been specific that she HATES the way Vanessa switched up the plan on her during the Austin backdoor week. So she went back on their plane then isolated her by nominating a friend next to her. Then planted seeds of doubt in Becky's mind about her friends turning on her. Becky went through a period of time where she felt abounded by the people she trusted the most in the house, she felt grateful to Vanessa and Shay during this time. Becky is hella resentful for being put into that position by Vanessa. This is not my speculation. This has been Becky's own words. They are true because I saw it play out on the feeds. I didn't hear it anywhere. 3. Jackie. Simple. Vanessa went against her word to the Dark Moon. Before that the Jason backdoor it was Jeff. A new found reason was the attempt to fracture her bond with Becky. She was very angry when she heard how Becky felt that week and disappointed that Becky didn't come to her. Becky is not bullshitting about feeling alone and abounded by Jackie during her time on the block. I was very disappointed when it was happening because I thought it was a shame that one of the earliest friendship/alliances (Becky/Jackie) was going to hell because of miscommunication. I posted about it as much. If anyone followed the events that happened during her time on the block, the brief time she spent feeding Shay info is more understandable. Cosmosgravitation August 10, 2015 Share August 10, 2015 (edited) Going by this article, this is the conversation Steve overheard that started his Becky hate. Steve is sensitive about people thinking he's trying to eavesdrop because he tells the cameras when he's alone that is not what he is intending to do and it is something he has tried to fix. He's just so socially awkward he doesn't know how to enter a conversation without being weird. I read via Reddit that Becky also made comments along the lines of that that he shouldn't even be there and Steve overheard that too. Although to be fair, Steve has wondered the exact same thing - when he's by himself with the feeds he has wondered out loud what he's doing there and says he shouldn't have been cast because he just can't do the social aspect of the game. Also, the morning Jason walked out the door he told Steve that Becky is targeting him and wants him out (and Becky inexplicably did tell Jason that when they were on the block together). Jason even tweeted that he did that. Edited August 10, 2015 by Cosmosgravitation 1 Link to comment
Deputy Deputy CoS August 10, 2015 Share August 10, 2015 (edited) Liz is so over Vanessa is just might vote her out. Voicing out her frustrations to Austin, she tells him to just agree with what Vanessa says but do whatever he wants to. They'll understand her paranoia tomorrow but this feelings has always been present in Liz and Austin. They are not as loyal to Vanessa as they pretend to be. I can see Julia being the most maddest at Becky but she can't do much damage to if she doesn't have the backing of Liz and Austin. Johnny should consider taking her out instead. His next target is Austin because he thinks he would want Vanessa. Edited August 10, 2015 by Deputy Deputy CoS 2 Link to comment

Nashville August 10, 2015 Share August 10, 2015 Personally, I find it hard to be a "stan" - or fan - or any other kind of "an" - of any particular player this season, because nobody's playing with any kind of strategic consistency: ClamShell - well, Shelli at least - showed early promise, but almost immediately fell into the rookie-est strategy trap of them all - assuming your opponent will oblige you by making only the moves you want. Vanessa has thus far shown the longest continued streak of successful strategy, but over time this has developed into a pattern of cannibalizing or burning the bridge immediately behind her while still constructing the next bridge ahead. Which means any delay or interruption in building that next bridge leaves you marooned. Becky's total strategy is apparently centered around avenging herself against the person who made her feel vulnerable while on the block. This strategy is good for exactly one week. Jackie apparently started out with a strategy of laying low until Jury, but that went out the window when she stumbled into a dual HoH - a reign which lasted for approximately one day. Like Becky, her level of strategic thinking does not appear to elevate itself above basic revenge. Her frequently-voiced opinions during James' last HoH reign appeared to reflect a mindset which believed the HoH had the power to force the other HGs to vote according to the HoH will - a notion (hopefully) dissuaded by that week's eviction vote. Austwins' strategy is "don't get picked". Cheers on such masterful gameplay there, d00ds. Steve, arguably the best-read superfan remaining in the game, finds himself unable to shit or get off the pot when it comes to committing to a basic strategy. The boy talks a lot, but he don't do shit. JMac's still an enigma to me; either he's a strategic idiot, or he's playing the longest con in the House. WTF-ness abounds and surrounds this guy. Meg's strategy is to not have one. Period. 13 Link to comment

Fouts August 10, 2015 Share August 10, 2015 Dental hygienist here, married to a dentist, daughter of an oral surgeon... All oral surgeons, periodontists, orthodontists, etc have a DMD or DDS (depending on your dental school.) Yes, all dentists can do extractions, but usually it's smart to have an oral surgeon do yours, particularly if it's a more difficult impaction-- like Steve's infected 3rd molar. I'm sure Johnny could do Steve's, but it would certainly be more challenging for him than an oral surgeon. They should really send Steve out for this surgery if he's going to be there much longer, IMHO. 4 Link to comment

APSimpson August 10, 2015 Share August 10, 2015 While I find it distasteful, I don't really have a problem with Liz using Austin as part of her gameplay. What I do have a problem with, is her THs and twin-twin conversations almost mocking Austin and pointing out how unattractive she finds him. To me - and this is strictly my opinion - she's heading down a trail blazed by Mike Boogie. To this day, I despise Boogie for how he humiliated Erika, and I would feel like a hypocrite for giving Liz a free pass. I agree about Amber, and I'm a little tired of the comparison. Liz is by no means isolated. In fact, I would say she has better connections than Austin. When Vanessa leaves, so does Austin's greatest defender. He should follow right behind her. Once the twins are put up against Austin, I imagine Liz will turn on him in a flash. That's part of the game. I just don't enjoy the humiliation - no matter how weird and smelly you are. While normally I would side with the man in a situation like this, I have zero sympathy for Austin, assuming Liz really is just playing him and doesn't have some feelings or loyalty to him. My problem with Austin is that he's a bully. He was probably picked on in elementary/middle school and once he had his growth spurt and got so tall then he became untouchable. But he's no hunk by any stretch even though he's built. He has a geeky quality to him, and I would guess he probably loathes that inner geekiness about himself or memories of being picked on in his youth, and that's why he takes it out on Steve because Steve reminds Austin of his weaker, former self. Just guessing here. That's probably why he built himself up, too, and became a wrestler. It's probably a way for him to overcome his inner demons, and it seems that I've heard or read plenty of instances where wrestlers or mixed martial arts fighters were bullied in their youth and that's why they work out and fight, as a way to face their inner fears that scarred them in the past. I think CM Punk and John Cena have made mention of having been bullied as kids. It's funny, because the WWE does a lot of anti-bullying stuff, and here you have Austin, a former employee of theirs, acting like a dick on national TV. No wonder they let him go (assuming they did). Cases in point of Austin's trash-talking: calling Shelli "grandma" during the HOH competition (in last night's TV show edit). And referring to Steve's falls as "ugly" (essentially implying that Steve is ugly). Or having referred to "stuffing Steve into a locker" in a past episode. I thought Jason was mean-spirited as well, but Austin is much more unnerving because of his physical intimidation factor, whereas Jason couldn't hurt a fly. Sure, Austin might've been facetious with his "smack talk", but I would wager there is an attitude there that is less than friendly. Not to mention his "Judas" alter ego, which he promotes on the show. While part of me kind of likes the idea of that as a wrestling persona, I just find Austin so repugnant in personality that I hope I never hear about him again after this season. As far as Liz "playing" Austin, I guess we'll see. I keep waiting for the moment she turns against him but I guess it's still too early for that, but I can see it not happening either, as strategies can change at any time. I really hope she is playing him and I hope there's a reveal or a betrayal. What would be more poetic than the ultimate betrayer in the Judas archetype being betrayed himself? 3 Link to comment

And I'd say a much more direct threat than the Austwins. Becky has explained in detail why she's targeting Vanessa. In short, she recognizes that V is a strong player and she feels that V is erratic and completely untrustworthy. Those are both reasonable assessments. I don't think Becky is on the Austwins' radar, so it wouldn't have made any sense for her to target one of them and have the other two coming after her. At this point, there are still enough big targets that there are multiple reasonable choices and it makes sense for an HOH to go after the big targets that are the biggest threats to his/her personal game. Vanessa put herself in this position by overplaying and overplaying and overplaying. Like many BB players, her downfall is the emotional stress of the game. That was one of the many advantages that Derrick had last year. He dealt with the stress of house and the game much better than the others and he was able to keep his head while they made emotional decisions that hurt their games. He actually played on the other HGs' emotional volatility and neediness a lot. Edited August 10, 2015 by TheRealT 4 Link to comment

TheRealT August 10, 2015 Share August 10, 2015 I have no sympathy for Austin because he came into the house with a gf and broke up with her on the feeds or whatever so he could pursue Liz. That is not the act of a sweet, sensitive guy. Also, in the context of the show, I don't really care if someone "leads someone on." It's not like Liz is telling Austin that she loves him and wants a future with him; the nonsense of this being a big, serious relationship is all in his head. A woman letting you rub her leg doesn't mean she's promising you undying loyalty or anything else. Also, Austin seems like the type who fancies himself to be very "romantic" and "sensitive" when he's really just clingy and controlling and creepy. Again, a "romantic" and "sensitive" guy would not dump his lady love on TV for a half-assed showmance. He was probably waiting to see whether there were any girls he was into who would make a good showmance partner to shore up his "persona" on the show. 13 Link to comment

peachmangosteen August 10, 2015 Share August 10, 2015 (edited) I think Liz is much more observant and a better gamer than Julia. People loved Julia when she first came back because she was so anti-Austin but I haven't seen her say or do anything game wise besides fall in line behind Vanessa. This. So much this. Liz is like 10 times the player Julia is imo. Julia is nothing more than a Vanessa minion. Although I am very interested to see how she changes up her game play once Vanessa goes. She actually does have better relationships than Liz. I think if Vanessa and Liz both went on Thursday Julia would probably skate to the finals, but she would be lost game-wise imo. She would probably just be drug there. Austin is SO creepy with Liz, but when he has one on one talks with the other side I think he does a decent job with it. I can pretty easily see why Liz/Austin/Julia aren't being seen as so threatening by these guys. I really hope he doesn't tell Vanessa about this though. Or even hint at it in any way. I want a blindside! Although by the way Vanessa was talking to Steve this morning I think she is thinking she's going up again. Speaking of Steve, does he know that Vanessa's going up? Deputy Deputy CoS August 10, 2015 Share August 10, 2015 (edited) Austin doesn't want to leave the HOH. He is scared shitless of facing Vanessa. I am 90% convinced he is totes cool with the plan. All he cares about it sticking to the DE plan. Edited August 10, 2015 by Deputy Deputy CoS 1 Link to comment
