Whoopi is gone today.... family emergency..... Nicholle is playing moderator..... and she is as good as you expect

They did a story about a 16 year old autistic girl disrupted a flight and they had to land to remove her.... the passengers said she didn't make much more noise than a crying baby would... all the hosts seemed to show compassion... except Raven.... her answer was that another airline is needed for disruptive autistic kids..... she seems kinda warped in some of her views

Raven has always been held as a shining example of a child star transitioning into adulthood without hitch but its looks more like smoke and mirrors.  She may not have gotten into any legal trouble but her comments have really put me off her.  I wonder if this is what some people felt like when Kirk Cameron went through his transformation.

Good Grief.  That statement by Raven took me back to my high school days when during an English class (I can't recall how the subject came up), but some ignorant twit thought that all "gays and people who have AIDS should have their own island to live on" as a possible solution as to how society could help.

I frequently have the same reaction to Raven as I do to Rosie. She'll say something, I'll listen, and then I'll have the delayed reaction of WHAT??? But at least Raven spits out her stupid thoughts much faster than Rosie.

Saw about 5 minutes of the show this morning. I was channel surfing and stopped on The View because I saw someone in Whoopi's seat that had the huge flowing mumu-like silhouette but with a white mohak-style hairdo. Upon further examination I realized it was Simone. WHAT HAPPENED TO HER?? I remember she had lost a lot of weight a couple of years ago and was going from talk show to talk show (I recall this because I did not care for her shitty haughty attitude). Now I see her and she's wearing these big clothes...is she channeling Whoopi now?

Glad I did not watch too long. To hear her say autistic people should have their own airline would have made me lose it. I would say I hope ABC is not seriously considering her as a host but to be frank, I am all out of fucks to give regarding this show.

She was channeling Whoopie alot, she kept on giving WTF faces at the audience in the studio and at home, when the ladies were having discussions during hot topics. She was even going on about being American and not Afro-American just like the Whoopster has done in the past....

I wish they had just shut up and let Martin Sheen talk.  He is actually an interesting, witty person.  He hardly needed the crutch of that ridiculous "guessing game" they keep making all their guests play.

I guess the rest of them need that crutch, though, so we are stuck with it.  But I can't change the channel fast enough when they start with that game crap.

I was so embarrassed for Raven when she tried to give Martin Sheen that awkward compliment about being a part of an ensemble cast of really talented older actors.  He made a joke about her needing to be careful, and she sort of panicked and held out her blue card to show she was only saying what was printed there.  That was actually the embarrassing part - not her awkward delivery, but the fact that  she has to have something so silly and basic written up by someone else for her in advance.

On the other hand, if she is going to chime in stupid spontaneous shit like autistic children should be  made to fly on a separate airline, maybe she is better off just reading from her blue cards. Or she can go have a seat net Padma and her dumbass suggestion that unvaccinated children be made to wear wristbands and STFU altogether. That's probably a better idea.

I didn't catch the new guest host today and liked her. I found it interesting that she shared the mod's responsibilities with Nicolle rather than Rosie, lol.

If you can hear the ipads from the kids in the seat behind you on an airplane then they are too loud, imo. Too bad Raven doesn't want to be labeled but has no problem labeling an autistic person and saying they need to fly on their own airline.

Ever notice how Rosie ingratiates herself to every celebrity on the show by personally telling them how much SHE loves them? Like they are her BFF and not because of their acting, music, etc.

yeah. what was that airplane thing about?  the guesthost said her two kids each had an IPad, and the people sitting in front of them asked her to have the kids use headphones.  she thinks they were being intolerant of CHILDREN.  I've travelled with children, and the most important consideration is that they not annoy other passengers.   you might not think that the audio of a kids movie should bother others, but it IS annoying.  Even if the volume is low, I don't want to hear it.

And then the stupid shit about giving kids cold medicine to make them quiet on a plane.  Really?  the only way to fly with kids is to drug them?  or to have other people annoyed by their cartoons?

I was very uncomfortable with the remarks about drugging their kids to stay quiet on a plane...What if child care services were watching the show...lol...Raven was so callous about her remarks about special needs children..I thought that she did not like labels, but, she had no problems labeling others...She was channeling Whoopie yesterday with her dumb comments..I did not miss the movie stah at all...Her sycophant Nicole had to bring her up by showing us that clip that Whoopie had sent her son...Enough with the ass kissing Nicole! it is not a good look....

Was it Benadryl?  Ha "...as the mother of a two children with ADHD", this was the preferred method of avoidance of the real medication that might actually really help them in the 90s when you were in denial that your children actually might need ADHD meds; the problem with it is that it CAN BE paradoxical and then you have a psycho activated kid on your hands - that would be a treat on an airplane - NOT!  (Or, give them caffeine in the morning or whenever because that too calms them...)

Y'all are Sheroes and heroes for continuing to take it for the team!  Raven sounds like a dreadful entitled hypocrite and Nicole?  There are no words.

Oh well, I think this is a good idea.  Better to know the danger than not.

Ugh, Mika and her "know your value" tour is coming... it's such a bunch of utter baloney - given that Mika's "value" is all about her being submissive to Joe Scarborough and preening in front of the camera.

Tom Brady cheated... I get tired of them comparing things that happened off the field to his cheating on the field. There are rules set up that must be followed. That way no team has a competitive advantage outside the rules. These ladies may not understand how a deflated football can change the game but it does.... the balls were easier to grip when throwing the ball and when catching the ball.
One thing that many people don't know is each team uses their own selected footballs.... they don't share them with the other team. So the deflated balls were only used by the Patriots

This has nothing to do with his character or how he treats other people.... he cheated on the field and deserves his punishment

Cheating could not be more common in professional sports. Tom is getting called out for a reason. It's personal. Not cheating.

Please explain how cheating is common in professional sports..... when steroid use in baseball became known.... they changed the rules banning it..... it was not against the rules to use them back in the 90s

Other than that I dont know what kind of cheating is common

Did they talk about that principal who is being called a racist in the press?? I didn't see how that was a "racist" issue

Much too disjointed. In Whoopi's absence (which I was very happy about but hoping everything's ok with her family), the show runners need to establish her sub, not switch it around so much. And enough with the ass kissing, Nicolle. It's not The Whoopi Show. That one failed.

Was it Benadryl?  Ha "...as the mother of a two children with ADHD", this was the preferred method of avoidance of the real medication that might actually really help them in the 90s when you were in denial that your children actually might need ADHD meds

Nicole said she was looking for "the orange stuff" which I'm sure is Triaminic.  But she's such a ditz, does she realize that you don't identify medicine by the color?

And then someone else said benadryl.  and the thing is, if a kid has a sleep disorder, some doctors will suggest benadryl for a short time, to regulate sleep patterns.  But that's when your kid is having trouble falling asleep, and then can't get up for school.  (though benadryl can give a hangover, so they're more tired in the morning).   anyway -  it's not supposed to be used to quiet kids for the parents' convenience.

I have two kids with ADHD, we took them on airplanes  when they were young.  Before IPads.   The key is to let them know ahead of time what the expectations are, AND to stay engaged with them during the trip.  Sticker books, card games, crayons, comic books, snacks.  It's not impossible. It's called parenting.  I never considered giving them cold medicine to make them quiet.

Tom Brady cheated... .................

This has nothing to do with his character or how he treats other people.... he cheated on the field and deserves his punishment

I left part of the quote out, because those are the key things -  he cheated.  He got caught.  he got punished.

It doesn't even matter why deflated balls give a team an advantage -  there's a rule about how much inflation is legal, and he was part of disregarding the rule.

These ladies keep the tradition going that when someone is a CELEBRITY, and may have other positive qualities, the rules should be overlooked.

He cheated.   AND HE LIED ABOUT IT.

But he was cheating.  It doesn't matter if it's common to cheat or not.  It's still CHEATING.  You get caught, you pay a price.

Now I can see having a debate about whether or not his punishment is proportionate and it is not unreasonable to suggest he was hit harder than someone else might have been because he is THE Tom Brady (not a view I personally share).  But to say he is only being found guilty of cheating  because of who he is is to ignore the evidence suggesting he was all up in on "deflategate."  And as RogerfromOhio already pointed out, an underinflated ball can be a big advantage, especially in cold weather.  He ought to have to give that damn ring back in my opinion, him and his whole team.

I actually missed today's show.  I preferred the company of a sink full of dirty dishes to these ladies.  Was this their take on the Tom Brady situation?  He didn't do anything wrong and is only being punished for being Tom Brady? Was it their typical celebrity apologists crap?  Whoopi must have been so sad she missed the chance to be a part of that.

It's too bad Rosie Perez is an expert on boxing and not football.  Sounds like that kind of sports knowledge was desperately needed today.

http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/angry-college-mom-daughter-perform-naked-pass-article-1.2217602

The link is to an article explaining what The View ladies got all upset about recently - an art class that "requires nudity".  The View seems to have seen the Fox News segment on the class, which is not surprising.   I wish they would do their own research.  http://www.newshounds.us/20150512_steve_doocy_disturbed_by_sceevy_nudity_requirement_in_college_exam

The truth - it's an upper-level art class, so it's attended by junior and senior art majors, primarily. Which also means they're not children, but adults.    It's a class about "performing the self", and the assignment is on a topic called "the erotic self".   AND -  the assignment requires students to be EITHER physically or emotionally "naked".   There is no requirement that they disrobe for the final project in order to pass the class.

I'm thinking if you're a senior art major  considering taking  a class called Performing The Self, then you're a 21 year old who can decide to take the class or not, based on the course description. The course description - "Using autobiography, dream, confession, fantasy or other means to invent one’s self in a new way, or to evoke the variety of selves in our imagination, the course experiments with and explores the rich possibilities available to the contemporary artist in his or her own persona."  Why does anyone NOT taking the class have a problem with it?

I'm often surprised by Rosie Perez' reactions to things like nudity and "foul" language.  She acts as if she's never seen or heard such things, giggling or acting shocked.   Didn't she have a nude scene on Broadway (Frankie & Johnny, etc.)?   Is this stuff art when she's involved but shocking or giggle-producing when others are?

This all loops back to Fox, ha, that's funny because wasn't laBits some kind of an art major?  Tee hee, College Republicans, couldn't have been a Bitsy segment that requires the Campus Reform "reporters".

"The orange stuff" to me is Delsym, and I think in any other form than the proprietary Delsym blend, dextromethorphan can be something that is abused, "rolling" or something like that and maybe that purple koolaid stuff that kids drink to get high?  I'm old, and not up on my terms about all this stuff, lol. (eta: I was on the right track with cough syrup the purple stuff is Sizzurp - but that is prescription strength promethazine with codiene.)

I completely agree with you you about parenting on planes, but I have to admit that Nintendo DS was a great tool as my kids got to the rowdy stage (before iPads or even affordable portable DVD players, really) but we always had a backpack chock full of fun with us. ;)

It's probably a lifelong activity.  Coaches teach little kids ways to cut corners, beat the system, screw with the other team.  Those who excel are treated like royalty and given breaks other kids don't get--tutors, grades they don't deserve, popularity, etc.   If real life ever hits, they're shocked to be treated like everyman.   Not everyone, of course.

LOL, hearing it was a Whoopi free day on The Whoopi Goldberg hour I turned this on (OnDemand) while doing a pile of dishes tonight and literally stopped, dried my hands, and changed the channel after the first three minutes... A Moment With Whoopi.   Bummer too because if Toni Braxton sang I'll be sorry I missed it.

Has Nicole ever seen this show?   "Whoopi would NEVER let us show a clip from one of her movies."   Whaaaat?   Every time a guest she's worked with before comes on the show they spend 50% of the interview showing clips and still pics of whatever movie/show they appeared in together ala Babs.  I've seen a lame Ghost clip at least half a dozen times ON THIS SHOW.   Hell, just last week they showed a Ghost clip with guest Tony Goldwyn and Her Highness.

I apologize and throw myself at the feet of fellow PTV View posters asking for forgiveness for ever thinking Raven would make a good co-host. She seemed ok at first and gave the impression that she could fight off Whoopi's influence but after today it's apparent she's going in the the direction of becoming Whoopi Jr. attitude wise.

Really? Clips of a Whoopi movie?

And awkwardly transitioning from the crazed ex-boyfriend to how Molly Sims lost weight?

Also that Nicolle/Anthony Anderson interview was even more awkward for a while there.

Out of curiousity, I turned the show on for a minute (literally) earlier when the blond was talking about losing baby weight.  But I was distracted by hair.  Specifically   Raven (in Whoopi's chair) with "don't take me seriously" hair.  And Rosie Perez with a scary hat hair wig(?) on her head with the side bangs heavier and longer than ever.  I certainly am not a stranger to "bad hair days" but how can ABC let these women go on TV with that hair!

I missed the Mika segment..... even though I was sitting right here.... was there anything interesting discussed??

Same here, Roger...had it on, but can't tell a thing about it b/c this show is just background noise to me now.  Besides, as buffynut commented, I was so distracted and disturbed by Rosie's "hair" that all else was lost.  Is that a wig?  I've heard she sometimes wears them.  If so, it truly needs some color differential/highlights added - the color is way too flat.

The few moments I did focus on today's show were wasted - what a mess!

Instead of hosts, how about a table of talking hair. Rosie's "scary hat hair" being interrupted by Nicole's "used to look better" bob while Raven's "don't take me seriously" hair is irritating Whoopi's dreads. Might be more interesting.

This is what pisses me off about Nicole. She agrees with that lady that women need a raise but her Republican party doesn't even support an equal wage for women or a hike in minimum wage which would benifit a lot of women. I just can't stand people that can sit there and smile through the bullshit like that. If Joy or someone like her was there, Nicole could be challenged but she is just allowed to spew crap as some kind of expert.

They can't find an interesting panel and they allow people to get out of control. Who runs this crap? Not caring for Raven, either. She has this air about her like she wants to be perceived as this eccentric person but she is coming off more annoying than anything for me.

Mika B. is in danger of morphing into a Q-tip.

She's actually "up to 135-140" after much "effort" to gain weight.  She has an admitted eating disorder - but the fact that she's such a food nag on her show doesn't make me like her or appreciate her issues much.  If she had her way - she would legislate what everyone in the country ate. This is all to say that she isn't wrong necessarily but she's incessant about it and I think it reflects her own personal food issues, and she never really addresses the issue of food deserts in poverty stricken areas except when a guest like Tom Colicchio is on.

That article is kind of weird though. It says Whoopie's younger brother, who was 65 died. It also says they were incredibly close when a couple of months ago, Whoopie said she grew up without siblings. In any event, RIP Whoopie's brother.
