After months of work, Lydia's house renovations are ready to show off to the Style Queen herself Chyka. Janet's also immensely proud, this time of her son Jake who shines in the spotlight at their tea launch.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find Jackie just embarrassing?

 

"I sound like Lydia.  Haha!"  Not something to be happy about, Jacks!  Then I read this, which sounds exactly like something she'd angle to do and doesn't surprise me at all.  What does she mean by "I watch them all, I even watch Atlanta"?  Atlanta's the most-watched series in the franchise (and on Bravo, I think), why wouldn't you watch it if you're such a fan?

 

Wait, so Pettifleur fancies herself a black bitch now?

I co-sign that side eye.  Not sure what sort of reaction she was trying to get.  And that ridiculous bit about not wanting attention being drawn to her accent?  Petty, indeed.  I think her accent is beautiful, too bad it's attached to such an awfully insecure person.  

 

Glad Janet's son is doing so well.  When we first saw him this season I was surprised at how good he looked; I was expecting a lot worse from what I had heard from Janet.  But from this article, it sounds like he's come a long way and it could have been a lot worse if not for his family's money.  It makes me really appreciate what they're trying to do with the Roach Foundation.

 

ETA:  I forgot about Gina's swipe at Jackie regarding the "cuh-CHOO-ah" nonsense.  As soon as she said, "Jackie has invented a word," I guffawed.  And then casually, matter-of-factly referring to her as a bogan?  I DIED.

After many years watching all the US housewives shows, I decided to give this one a go. I decided to take 2 days off and watch all of season 1. It was entertaining but left a sour taste in my mouth. I felt so bad for Gina all season being bullied. This season is a lot easier to watch, the awful Andrea is GONE, how nice that was, I found myself smiling throughout this episode, it was so lighthearted and comedic compared to season 1.

Even when Pettifleur goes in her little tiffs it's more comical than anything. It's nice to watch housewives and be able to laugh a little.. as opposed to the despicable beverly hills season where every week I just end up depressed because of Brandi.

Way to derail a charity event and make it completely about yourself, Gamble. Poor Carlos, having to deal with her and guard dog Gina coming after him in a space that is meant to be positive and uplifting. Never mind the fact that Janet's son is a burns victim- the real focus should be on Gamble and her sex rumours (that are probably true anyway) right?

 

Every week I go into the episode trying to be positive and neutral and every week Gina does something racist and gross that makes me go on the attack. Calling Pettifleur's accent "cute", mimicking her in the limo, drawing attention to the Achilles Heel pronunciation- it all reads very badly and it's really quite sad that so many people can watch it and not see how intrinsically racist it all is.

 

I am really warming to Lydia this season. She's having fun with the show, showing off her wealth and giving us silly GIFable moments- at the end of the day that's what the Housewives franchise should be about.

Wasn't Gamble the one who said there should be no drama at Janet's event because it was for charity? I think she was, so why bring it up just because one of the people talking shit was there? I did like Jackie saying, "Gurl, you betta shut that shit down with a quickness!" I will laugh if it really was Gamble's makeup artist who spilled the tea on her.

Gina never thinks she's done wrong. The rudeness about Pettifleur's accent is supposed to be laughed off as just teasing, but if someone says anything negative about her, she's all in. And Chyka was absolutely right to say that Gina should have told them if not asked permission to use their names.

Gamble is about two surgery procedures away from becoming Wildelstein, the cat woman.

So now Pettifleur is black.  Since when?  If memory serves, when she was listing her "roots", not once did she mention the word "black".  She seems fascinated with the "bee" word.  I can't with this woman.  She seems to be trying really hard to be controversial and it isn't working.  Hopefully, they won't bring her back for season three.

Even if the photos are more risqué than Carlos described, I don't know why these women act like dudes never lie about who they've slept with and what they've done to impress other dudes. The fact that Gamble can name all of her more risqué pictures makes me think that Carlos' friend is an epic bullshit artist.

Gina is the sneakiest sneak. She should have asked the girls. Janet was right that Gina would claim it was a compliment even though she was using their to fill her pockets. And Gina does say some really suspect things about Pettifleur.

But nobody has said more suspect things than the black bitch herself, Pettifleur. Is that a thing people are just saying and not having people just back away from them?

Jackie's style has been so much worse now that she has a stylist. I blame him for teaching her the word caw-tu-ah.

I liked Lydia's remodel, but my does she love naked lady art. There were like 4 nudes just in her foyer.

The more Gamble persists in making the rumors a huge deal and the look on her face when she realized that it wasn't a naked photo of her the more I think there is something to it.

I really don't like Gina, the fact that she brought up to Rick that he didn't remember her last time was ridiculous. Also, Gina reacted almost exactly as Petifleur did about her book and the sole of the shoes. Eventually she even backtracked in her talking head saying they were just samples.

Loved Chyka's leopard dress. I'm guessing that it's way (way, way) out of my budget, but does anyone know how to find out who makes it?

 

I tooled around Google a bit, and I saw that she wore another leopard dress at another function, and there were many emails and questions about that one. This one is just beautiful and would work on a "real" woman's body (meaning over 50 and nowhere near a size 0 or 2).

Gina's Shoes - Wasn't right that the women were not at least told that she was using their names.  But she didn't seem phased about just changing them to something else if they didn't like it.  Note to PFloor, that lawsuit was over years ago.  You can use a red sole as part of the overall design of the shoe but not as a signature of the line.  So it's a nonissue.

 

Janet - This woman's THs just make her such a idiot.  I'm sure there was a producer there laughing and giving her the thumbs up on all this nasty mocking tone but girl you got played.  I actually like Janet fine if I just FF through her THs.  Oh and you might want to read comments on the RHOBH reunion.  Everyone was making fun of poor Brandi in the platform stilettos since they are so last year.  So Gina did give you the most fashion forward style.

 

Petti - Another completely inappropriate outfit.  Where does she find this crap?  Plus I'm actually siding with Gina this time round.  Answer a question.  Just one.  You're giving me a headache.  Every single question is met with this Columbo crap.  Oh and 'black bitch'?  You better take that out of your vocabulary before you hit landfall in the US.  That term will get you all kinds of attention you don't want.  But for now it says that Gina is not a racist and that you just like making people uncomfortable.  The red soles?  You should like google things before you act like you know something.  That lawsuit was settled like 4 years ago.  She can leave anytime.

 

Jackie - The oddest thing that came out of this for me was that I am liking her husband.  'I'm like the ozone for Jackie.  You're welcome.'  Made me laugh out loud.  Jackie please fire your stylist.  He is laughing along with the producer filming Janet's THs.

 

Lydia -  Oh dear she's so out of it.  She should Google Gina or just read the bio that was presented for this show.  Her family has a fashion house.  And before she passed the bar she was a business manager there.  So she probably can run a business.  

 

Chyka - Love that her nickname is Cheekie.  I'll take that.

Jackie's helicopter exit actually was explained. She said she had another commitment elsewhere and the only way she could get there on time without leaving her own party too early was to do so by helicopter. It seemed reasonable to me. And I'm not sure why the reviewer would assume the return to drop off the car keys was faked. Why would they fake something like that? It didn't make anyone look clever or cool. I have no doubt a lot of things on this show are faked, but I didn't see that here.

Same here, I enjoy a ditz, and Lydia's really pulling it off.  For different reasons I'm loving Gamble, Gina and Chyka.  Gamble is a hot mess but a very enjoyable hot mess.  Chyka, of course is the Queen of all things in Melbourne, and Gina is reality show heaven, intelligent, over the top and quick.  All these ladies are flawed, no one is perfect.

 

On the other end of the spectrum there's Pettitfleur, Janet and Jackie.  Pettitfleur is a nouveau riche poseur with a tragic fashion sense, Janet is a classic shit stirrer from way back, even though my heart melts whenever she talks about her son.  And Jackie is just a train wreck:  pretentious, dumb and loud.  Not a great combination.

Awful shoes.  I thought her friends did not want their names on those shoes?  I wouldn't want to be associated with the likes of those overpriced prom shoes.

Where is the Gamble shoe or is that pink Barbie shoe meant to be hers?

Does Janet think she is cute with all that jumping around? Every time she saw someone she jumped up and down like a 5 year old,  I think I know why her son did not want to be in public with her, he was mortified by her!  I expected a whole bar of her teas being made so people would sample the wares but this just seemed like an excuse to stand in front of a step and repeat awkwardly posing with each other and a chance to drink for free.

 

So Gamble's sister had work done, ok but I call BS on the $50,000, (maybe in Australian dollars?) a friend of mine just did the same exact procedure 2 weeks ago and it was in the $5,000 - $6000 range.  She too is healing quickly but still has bruising and stiches. I wonder who paid for that.

Janet invited that guy who saw a photo from another guy who took her photo of Gamble from his phone at that party where she was fully clothed and without her fiancée and made up some story about how it turned in to an orgy which sent Gamble scrambling and scared relying on the Evil Gina to help her out like she was her attorney, whew!...why on earth was Gamble so worried, dost thou seem to protest her innocence too much. Did they ever mention how long ago that party was supposed to have happen? 

 

Petitefluer, ugh. every time you open your mouth we cringe, stop trying to be the PC police because you need to write yourself a citation.

 

Jackie's husband calling her out on the whole "couture" thing! Love it.  That La Mascara party was confusing. 

 

 

 

Oh and Lydia's kitchen porn was fantastic!

Considering she's being filmed for a television show, I don't know what choice she had.  Carlos, Janet, and Jackie (accidentally) put her into a situation where if she didn't push the issue, the editors could have easily edited it to make it seem that it was true.  I've never been slut shamed on international television, but I think I might have called in Gina, too.

Janet shrieking and jumping up and down every time one of the "friends" walked in to her "tea" party. I just can't stand that woman. 

The whole thing about the photo's didn't make any sense at all. Was Gamble naked doing something weird or not? Were they just some random photo's of her in her bathing suit posted on facebook or not? Was that guy just an asshole planted there to stir some shit or not?

Are two dishwashers the norm in Australia? Cheeka sure thought so.

 

Full disclosure, I have dishwasher drawers that are made in New Zealand.  There are two drawers in the space of one standard dishwasher.

 

So I'm guessing Cheekie is normally in kitchens that belong to people that have hired her firm for a large event.  I doubt she gets in many middle class homes.  I want to be that rich.

Janet's son's face is more natural and nice looking than Janet's face.

Hated all of Gina's shoes. They look like the "fancy" shoes Payless offers. (I like Payless for the wide variety of cruelty-free shoes).

Jackie, quit trying so hard. It's embarassing.

Pettifleur strikes me as being shrewd and conniving.  It seems she knows that Gina, for better or worse, is the star of the show and wants to make herself relevant (or possibly snatch the crown) by creating strife involving her.   Most of all she reminds me of too many women I met during my expat days who took advantage of being in another country with no ties to their past and where they could reinvent themselves.  I hope that she goes the same route as Andrea at the end of this season because her constant attempts to be one up on other cast members has the same affect on me as a mosquito buzzing around my head...annoying and expecting an unpleasant strike at any time. 

 

I know art appreciation is subjective...but Lydia's nude art together with that humungous portrait over the fireplace...yikes!  That kitchen though...very nice! 

 

If Gina had used the other cast member's images and outright reference to the show like "The Real Housewives of Melbourne Collection" I could understand the other women taking issue with being connected to the collection.  It reeks of producer driven drama.

 

All Jackie has added to the show is her self-proclaimed psychic ability (although some claim to be convinced), talking to angels, and that her husband was once in a band that enjoyed some level of success.   It's all old news this season and it seems she has nothing more to offer. The best she can do to try and stay relevant is get involved in the other women's business because she's not bringing up anything new and interesting about herself.  I would be happy to see her leave at the end of this season too.  That being said, if she's lobbying for a  shot at one of the US franchises she should shoot for New Jersey.  I think I can see her and her angels being a really good fit there.

Gina is one nasty piece of work.  She shouldn't talk about how anybody looks when she looks like a clown.  If she walked in NYC looking like that, people would think she escaped from Bellevue.  She has her nerve talking about accents, when I have to put on closed captioning just to understand what she's saying.

Janet is melting right before our eyes, I almost can't watch her. Gamble's talking heads continue to give me life, and that scene with her recuperating sister was one of my favorite parts of the episode. For christ's sake, somebody please wipe the word "co-tuuure" from jackie's memory, I can't take it anymore.

That bullshit from Carlos was ridiculous. Gamble questions him regarding the gossip that had been attributed to him and he verifies in front of a group of people that it was true because he saw the pictures. Then after much questioning, after he is alone with just Gamble and Gina, he admits the photo proof of said gossip was a picture Gamble & other people fully clothed.

 

No proof. He was obviously uncomfortable with being faced with questions about the made up rumor. I don't know if Janet was part of making up the rumor but Carlos absolutely was. Carlos should have gone back to the group of women and explained the real story of "the picture". Disgusting.

YES!  I love him.  He seems like such a sweet, gentle soul with a good sense of humor.  Oddly enough, I get a kick out of Jackie even though I absolutely HATED her the first few episodes last year.

I was really looking forward to some house porn, but Lydia's place was a disappointment, imo. Only redeemed by her little quip "I'm always ready" and then glance toward the camera. Her ditziness has to be an act. Performance art, yes!

Five grand is more like it. At least that's what it cost a friend of mine who had it done, including a lower eye lift and a brow lift. Unless Gamble's sissy had a whole lot more done from the neck down that we're not privy to...
