Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

No one should wear nearly head to toe mustard.  It's too difficult a color for most people and should be reserved for accents.  Is that a new wig or did she do her roots and add a hair piece or extensions?

A new MLM?  Isn't that so Jill?  Plexus may have been something she has stuck with almost the longest of anything.  With her usual schedule of moving, shouldn't she be considering leaving the barndo soon?

I think that was another reason she dumped them.   Not only did she not get a cruise but other people were getting attention because they were actually famous, unlike Jill who just thinks she is famous.   In this new company she might be the most "known" person.   But yeah, she is done with Plexus because it did not bring her fame and fortune.

I think she is done with the Etsy boutique too.   It also didn't immediately give her the riches she feels she rightly deserves.

Now its on to the next thing.   Which will also go the way of Plexus, the magazine, the singing CD, etc.   The only thing she sticks with consistently is the Women's Retreat.   Because she can design an entire conference around her.

I agree.  I also think that she somehow gets some sort of hotel kickback for the retreat.  Telling people not to register directly with the hotel sounds sketchy to me.

nah, she has people pay her the regular rate for the room then she pays the hotel the "conference" room rate and keeps the differennce.   the hotel is probably not in on it.

I agree.  The "kickback" is coming from the attendees who are happy to have her handle all the arrangements and have no idea.

I guess we don't know for sure yet, but I'm going to laugh if Jill thinks she's "punishing" Plexus by quitting. You're right @merylinkid. She's looking for fame and fortune but will just be falling into another exploitive MLM trap.

I'm already laughing about Jill's selling cleaning products, the kind of stuff Melaleuca specializes in. Jill doesn't lift a finger to clean the Barndo and never has. I hope they have something to cure her gut problems that miracle Plexus apparently didn't fix.

Kaylee says she felt results after two whole days taking the vitamins. 🙄

And to think one simple Google search to see the room prices on the hotel's website could bring down Jill's one consistent source of income....

I can already picture Lazy Dave on his recliner ignoring his family, and Mahmo following the kids from room to room shrieking out orders but never lifting a finger to help pack.  Each kid maybe can fill one box with stuff that belongs exclusively to them while Jillpm’s clothes and teddy bears can fill a U Haul.  Not that kids need tons of stuff to be happy but the ratio of Jill’s clothes and belongings to those of her children is so disproportionate.  Every square inch covered with “decor”.  It makes me anxious just looking at the pictures.

I think Jill looks like a yellow marshmallow peep for Easter or a baby chick. It’s too yellow . And I don’t think Jill will wear that outfit for Easter.

That's marshmallow peep yellow for sure. However, the outfit is not for a holiday. It's Jill's idea of business attire!

Those boots suck.

Who else but Jill would wear those tacky plastic boots for a "business night out"?

I suppose it all comes down to what type of business you're dressing for.

Tessie was the only one who looked OK. Kaylee had on some weird ruffled dress with a black modesty T-shirt, and a weird crocheted vest that didn’t seem to go with anything. Renee was trying to look cool and proper. But her hair up just looked awkward, as did her super long dress.

So did the Maxwells. They let Sarah move out and marry, and set their two other daughters to college. Christian college but still. I think one of them got married too.

I'm still shocked that Steve Maxwell, of all people, let go of his daughters.

”Dearest Timothy Rodrigues , happy birthday!   I remember the day I birthed you and proudly named you after my Daddy and your Dad - Timothy David Rodrigues.  🥰  I remember kissing your cheeks and praying that God would use you in a mighty way for HIS glory!  👋   And......He has!  Your life choices THRILL Dad's and my hearts , and we cannot wait to continue to watch your future unfold!  We are so blessed that you found such a beautiful, sweet, godly bride ( Heidi Rodrigues ), and that you have a precious baby on the way! 🤗 What a GREAT year this is going to be!  Happy QUARTER OF A CENTURY birthday!  25!!!  Wow!  We love you SO much!  ❤️  -Mama & Your family with LOVE  ❤️

Is David's first name Timothy too, or is Jill just being unclear again?

This is a typical Jill birthday post. She talks about herself and makes the rest about God. At least, she sounds somewhat excited.

Anyway, Timothy Rodrigues, I hope you and Heidi have a nice day and get to do something fun to celebrate like a day trip or a special dinner out--something that makes you happy.

As always, her child's birthday is all about Jill and she never fails to mention their actual births.  Apparently, Tim's birth was fairly routine and Jill didn't hemorrhage severely or have the doctor turn the baby from breech while she was pushing or some other fairy tale like she's attached to the births of the other kids.

I am sure glad that Jill remembered to mention Tim's wife's name in case he forgot (Heidi Rodrigues).  Or, maybe he's a bigamist and she doesn't much care for his other wife.  Could be either one.

"we are so blessed" you married Heidi.   Girl, who he marries ain't about you.   Your Jaysus was not blessing you.

So Jill feels blessed to have Heidi as a daughter-in-law? Interesting. Heidi has stood up to Jill more than once, and Jill absolutely has to be in charge of everything and everyone. I think she's playing nice because of the baby and Tim's regular paycheck. Maybe she's hoping she can lure them back into the barndo's orbit.

It would be wonderful if Jill really means her words here, but I'm skeptical. I can't see Heidi's moving away from her own family to be back in easy reach of the ever-needy, always-weeping Jill either.

Timothy David is Timothy from her father and David from Timothy's (the son's) father.  Deciphering Jill can be challenging.

It does read like Jill and Timothy have the same dad "named after my daddy and your dad".

Maybe Kaylee could have loaned her a comma there or something🤣

absolutely no way does Heidi go back, or Tim even suggest it.   he got away TWICE and got hauled back.   He knows what happens if you return after escaping.   He's probably amazed at all the money he actually has now that Mahmo is not demanding he just hand it over to her.

The smartest thing Tim ever did was marry a woman who can stand up to Jill.

This reminded me of an obit that was published in the local paper years ago.  A young teenage boy had died and left his girl friend and a baby.  The obit listed all his surviving relatives, and there was quite a list.  Many of them were listed as sister/cousins or brother/cousins.  Turns out, his grandfather  was also his father.  I understand that things happen in families, but this family published in the paper.  Sadly it was not just a mistake in grammar.

She tagged him on her Facebook post.  The tag gets lost when  it’s copied over here.  So it’s actually Dearest ‘ tag name’.

I remember Michelle doing that on the show way back. They would ask her about each kid and she would immediately go into how the pregnancy and birth was. And then just say they were sweet or something generic. No real knowledge of their personalities as living people. Just her glorious days of pregnancy and birth.

And this makes me feel sorry for Kaylee. Jonathan seems like a nice guy, and he has a real job, so he's leagues above David, but Jonathan appears to lack the gumption to stand up to his in-laws' endless demands. That leaves andKaylee on her own, always struggling to win her mother's favor like Princess Nurie and Baby Janessa, but never quite getting there.

And how long before Jill convinces him how "gawdly" it would be if he quit and stayed home and let Kaylee grift and MLM to support them, which isn't really working, etc.

If Jonathan, Nathan, and the R sons keep missing work to accommodate Jill's visits and trips, unemployment might happen. Generally, bosses like their employees to show up despite Mama's one-vacation-a-year-every-month routine that requires a staff to accompany her to make sure she has a good time sightseeing, eating out, and shopping for hoodie blouses to stuff in her closet.

btw Jill failed to mention in her post how she and Papa David failed Tim. because of his pathetic homeschool poor kid couldn't become a pilot like he wanted or even had $ or books or food when he went to college twice. what glory to God? poor Tim couldn't even get his dreams off the ground. marrying Heidi might be the best thing that happened to him.

it seems best thing that can happen to a rod child is getting far away from her clutches.

Janessa and Sofia weigh barely much. at this rate Gideon will weigh as much as Janessa in a year.

I just picture them jumping on the slide and breaking it. I think Sadie has grown out of it. But yeah, it would probably take both girls working together to break anything.

I remember Jill directing her sons who were adults to slide down a kids slide in an ice cream place. Jill is totally capable of directing her grown kids to break that new swing set for SM content and to make mahmo giggle like a hyena. and Jonathan won't do anything.

I don't remember who posted about "Death in the Downline", but whoever you are, THANK YOU.  I spent a nice afternoon reading today.  I couldn't help but think of Plexus.  For a short time I sold Mary Kay.  I liked some of the products, as did my mother and some of her friends.  I only ordered what we liked, and I was able to share the discount with them.  I never made any profit.  But I did attend some meetings and conventions.  The book was spot on with the language that was used.  "Just use a credit card" was heard a lot.  The pressure to sell and get others to join was pretty intense.  I didn't question the product ingredients because they were topical, but I sure wouldn't trust things like Plexus.  Anyway, it is a fun read, and the author is really anti MLMs.  Well worth a lazy day read.

Thank you @laurakaye!  I'm reading it now, and I thought about Plexus, too.

I could never push people to buy anything, or worse still, put it on a credit card.

The Rodlets are desperate for a childhood that doesn't involve avoiding Satan's temptations, listening to boring midnight sermons, singing in country churches for food to keep Papa fed and money to keep Mama in new clothes, and tiptoeing around Papa sleeping in his chair during the day. The swing set will be an attraction to them. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the girlies named Jill gave it a try.
