Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

She does show labels with sizing on some of the pieces.

As for Hannah's skirt, Jill pinned it so it wouldn't fall off her. She did that with several skirts, but let the girls swim in the Jill sized tops/blouses/whatever she's calling them now.

For some she does. But a lot of them are just kind of as is. No one in hell has any idea what size these things are. It’s just like, you better be rail thin like my daughters or forget these sus clothes.

Her little show off for SM buffet looked awful. Dry and unseasoned and I never seen anyone but Jill mix sauerkraut and sausage.

I didn't see her picture but we were in a very nice restaurant in Atlanta last night and there was a sausage and sauerkraut appetizer we shared. It was delicious. I'm sure much better than Jill's but served together nonetheless.

I love sausage and kraut. I'm half German and grew up eating it, but it was never paired with mac and cheese. We always had boiled or mashed potatoes with it. And that didn't look like enough food for everyone. Jill, it wasn't impressive.

Kielbasa is a form of sausage and almost always paired with kraut. And usually with potatoes, often boiled with the kielbasa and kraut. My Polish family had it often for special occasions.  Mac and cheese is a not something I've ever eaten with it, either.

My favorite was the description of a “medium largish “ skirt! No measurements included.

I'm really curious about who is buying this ugly, overpriced, unwashed, mystery-sized, non-refundable stuff.

Actually, I'd probably be appalled if I found out.

I feel like it's Brianne (or whatever Sam's girlfriend's name is) and Jill's Plexus downline.

I have doubts on it being brianne only because she is so arrogant/prideful of the clothes she wears that are more prairie style and way more modest than what Jill is shilling.

Maybe she would lower her standards to suck up to Jill, but at this point why? She already has the Sammer man committed to her.

This is Jill we're talking about, there is never enough sucking up in her mind and I think Brianne is smart/cagey enough to know that. However, once she's got Sammer locked down and married, I think all bets are off. And I can't wait for those fireworks.

From Jill's meeting with "some of her friends" to talk about the pink poison was last thursday.

Pic says it all - the new recruit and rods females.

The pic - What the heck are they wearing. Kaylee seems to be channeling Dr Quinn. Renee faux prairie/milk maid and the rest just WTH?

Sausage and kraut are delicious together. This was a staple growing up and, like others here, we ate it with potatoes or (if we were truly lucky) home made pierogies. If you don’t have time for an all-day crock pot kind of thing, slice that sausage, fry it up, and throw in the kraut. Omg delish.
As far as the Curdled Cream BooTique, I am thinking along with others that these clothes are a combination of Jill’s closet and a bit of reselling from Goodwill buys and church clothing giveaways. And her markups are astronomical. The kid’s dress she squeezed Renee into originally retailed at Target for $19/$20.  She was trying to sell it for $35 (if I remember correctly).  Jill, if you are trying to get into the reselling game, you need to look (and advertise) many different sizes, with an eye on big names.  Not a $20 Target kids dress from last year that you are trying to sell at a 75% markup. People make big money doing this, but it takes effort and time. And you need to know which pieces actually have value.  None of which Jill has or is willing to give or do. So I am going to grab my popcorn and glass of wine and watch this latest scheme fall flat.
Jill, if money is tight WHYYYY did you buy an expensive puppy and add to your  bills?  This makes no freaking sense. Going to churches for love offerings and crying poor while flaunting your expensive, seemingly pure bred dog around is counterintuitive.

And a pickle.  Sausage, sauerkraut, potatoes and a pickle.  I really like it.

That pan of sauerkraut and sausage is just about the right amount for me. No way it feed her family and you can add me to the people who grew up eating sauerkraut and sausage. I like green beans with mine and oddly enough homemade yeast rolls.

I believe the woman in the picture was the person Jill was doing the coffee meeting with. So, either no one showed up, or they didn’t want their pictures taken. Then again, Jill does posts in spurts so perhaps there’s more to come. Yay?

Well she said to meet about plexus and for friends. She has the non rod for plexus and her daughter/sister/friends so I guess that covers it.

Though chosen child Janessa isn't shown here, so there must be more pics😂

Poor Sofia is so bow-legged.  I’ll bet it’s because of poor nutrition.

It looks like a Brianne outfit.

Maybe, but I think Brianne's style is "rich Amish family's favorite daughter." Renee is wearing what should be a reject if the owner of the Ivory Cream boutique had even an ounce of style or taste.

In the same photo, Jill is dressed like a garish holiday decoration, but Jill is a garish holiday decoration so it makes sense.

You would think, having had all of those kids for quite some time now, Jill would innately know how much food to prepare to give everyone a healthy serving.  Of course if she's brainwashed her daughters into thinking that they need to stay thin to attract a man, as well as making sure they know that the men always dip first and women get what's left, then she's unfortunately figured out a system where she can cook less food using less money and still insist that everyone's been fed adequately.  I don't remember ever seeing her post pictures of food that looked anywhere near enough to feed that entire group unless someone outside the family brought it themselves.

Brianne is upscale performative modest for sure.

She likes a shop called Salt and Honey, about 30min or so from the barndo. Modest outfits that start at about $70. Hair scrunchies for $10.

Girl is going to have a hard adjustment to Samuel's income and Jill's demands for his attention and for gifts that please mama.

Where is Brianna getting money for her performative modesty?

Does she understand under their belief system she is not supposed to work outside the home unless its some MLM scam?

And she is not marrying a self made millionaire either.

The money she saves skimping on food goes to her growing stash of Hint waters.

Sausage and sauerkraut is very Eastern European. And also old school. My mother-in-law is Italian and she would always make it also. Not my favorite, but my husband could probably eat half of that pan.

I wonder why Jill never does anything with beans? Not that I have seen anyway. Very high in protein and very cheap. You can make a million kinds of soups, use it in tacos, so many options that could make a lot of food. Although I think part of their problem is that she has brainwashed them into fasting for the Lord, knowing she doesn’t have much money for food.

But she has money for "dates", weekend getaways and new sweat blouses.

How does it work, with Jill giving her sons a sub-par "education" and then expecting them to marry when they are barely out of their teens, support a wife and kids and still give Jill nice little Best Mahmo gifts when she's having a bad day?  On what income?  Tim seems to have managed to break away from Jill by leaning on Heidi's family - somehow I don't think Sammers is going to be able to do that.

Oh, Sweet Friends, please tell me that's three separate pieces (black t, rather unfortunate baby-doll dress, long skirt) and not that someone made the top and skirt as one piece.

I think it will cost you $35 (?) to know for sure, but only the t-shirt is worth wearing anyway, and that's about $3 new at Walmart.

(Not sure of Jill's pricing for the teen girl/young lady collection of horrors.)

What the hell is that franken-dress?? Seriously, it looks like the parts of three different dresses all cobbled together.

This reminds me of the bridesmaid outfits for one of the Duggar weddings.  Janna sewed random lace on the bottom of dresses to make the hemline "modest".  Each dress had a different amount of lace sticking out and really drew attention to the girl's legs.  Jill certainly likes to draw attention to odd-looking clothing to show how "godly" she is.  This outfit is really "eye-catching".
